RE: DS3 requirments [7:31914]
Really depends on what you want to do, what are you going to run on the router, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, what is your budget? The best hardware solution often means the best solution you can get for the money you are alloted. You could go all out and buy a GSR, but if you only have one DS3 that is kind of overkill :). -Original Message- From: Richard Tufaro [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, January 14, 2002 5:01 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: DS3 requirments [7:31914] Hey guys...is there a quick rundown of the best hardware software, that would be good for a DS3 connection? Re: DS3 requirments [7:31914]
Richard, it really kind of depends on what kind of traffic etc will be going through. If a big corporate site with a 1000 plus users were using a DS3 fo internet and this corp had remote sites that were spokes. I would say go with a 7000 series of some sort. A nice modular 3600 series with a HHSI card and an Adtran CSU would get you there as well but is probably better for a smaller situation just my two cents but you may check Cisco's site for example designs to. Hope this helps Richard Tufaro wrote: Hey guys...is there a quick rundown of the best hardware software, that would be good for a DS3 connection? Re: DS3 requirments [7:31914]
Look at the 7120 and 7140 series. There are a couple of models that one or two built in DS-3 ports w/ built in CSU's. They are cheaper than a full blown 7200 and have a lot of nice features.
