RE: Loading IOS [7:61413]

2003-01-22 Thread Lauren Child
As far as Im aware you can only use the ATA flash disks on Windows PCs, and
not the older linear flash PCMCIA cards. Itd probably use a different
filesystem anyway, although Ive not tried it.

There is a Linux utility to access cisco filesystems on pcmcia
card.http://www.si.org/cffs/

Hope that helps :)

RE: Loading IOS [7:61413]

2003-01-21 Thread Maurizio Moroni (mmoroni)
Actually, if you are using Windows 2000, you can insert a PCMCIA flash
card in a free slot of your laptop and have the OS seeing it as another
hard disk removable drive on which you can copy files.

You just can drag and drop any file you want on that, including IOS
images.

I use this method regularly and I have no problems. (your mileage may
vary)

Maurizio

I went in the lab and it didn't work. I pulled a flash card out of
the 3660 that had an image on it and also copied the running config onto
the flash then pulled it out and plugged it into a 3640, it did not see
either file.

it just says on that link that 3600's all use the same file system.
maybe you have to squeeze and format the card beforehand?
