The 2901 is supervisor I based, so it does not. The 2901 supports ISL on all ports, the 2926T only supports ISL on its supervisor ports. Bottom line is that a 2901 is the cheapest/best way to go imho, the 2926T is going to run you more , and approach the cost of a 5002. Gordon, I bought a 2520 from www.warwickdata.com. The price was good ($1320 + $15 shipping - used), their response was quick, shipped quick, packed well, and the router is great. with the prices I've seen on both the 2901 & 2526's, I'm not so sure I wouldn't add 5002 or 5005 your list (might be cheaper with a little homework)... I've seen 2926s that sell for under $2k on Ebay - the 2901 is about as ugly a switch as you can find (yeah it does the job, but for $200 or so differences, just ain't worth it). Also seen 5002s that go for under $2k on Ebay. Patience is the key though. Don't get why everyone looks for a 2520. Get a 2523 - they go for cheaper than 2522s and have 10 serials ports (8 are low speed, 2 are high speed), vs the 4 (2 low 2 high) in a 2520. A 2520 might end up being a frame switch period - while a 2523 can do that and double up as a router too. Ebay is the best place, & search under Cisco or Catalyst (& search often). You may find a "great deal" on an actual 5000 (maybe Supervisor I) may equal what resellers would charge for the actual device you are looking for... to emulate the actual device you are not looking for. Does this make any sense ??? Case-in-point- a friend was sooo caught up in finding two ATM modules for his 4500 & 4700, that he failed to realize he could purchase (2) 7000's (with ATM) for the price of 1 outfitted 4700. Good Luck !!! Phil PS- another item to consider... Cisco has EOL-ed the 5000 (almost a year ago) & is going to a full IOS switch like the 3524 or 2900XL. Lane is also gone from the CCIE.
