It's not nice to steal either. I personally don't like to see offers to

RE: cciebootcamp

2000-11-22 Thread Chuck Larrieu

Speaking of which, I just got mine in the mail! 17 labs plus suggested
configuration solutions. Plus support. Detailed drawings. Detailed
scenarios. And a suggested troubleshooting preparation document.

No I have not read much yet. But on the surface, this package looks to be of
good value. I'll comment more as I have a chance to review.

Oh yes, there on the invoice it is stated that the package is for a single
user only, no sharing, no reselling.

BTW, the certification agreement to which we all agree does contain
provisions about revocation of certification for ( among other things )
deceptive, misleading, illegal, or unethical practices. Folks who don't
understand the provisions of the Career Certifications Agreement might want
to call it up on the galton site and read it carefully. Cisco reserves the
right to bust you for being bad. ;->

And what is the difficulty level for bootcamp compare to the Lab exam? is it

Don't waste time - buy them today! Nobody else (and I mean NOBODY) has lab
scenarios that approach the level of complexity of the CCBOOTCAMP labs. Many
issues don't come up until you build an internetwork that is running lots of
protocols simultaneously. This is what you will do in the real lab exam (I
know, I've been there...), and it is also what you will do in the CCBOOTCAMP
labs.

Trust me, 3:00 on day one of your real lab exam is no time to realize that
you have never run X and Y and Z together at the same time... the Cisco Doc
CD will not be able to bail you out at that point.

Hi

I am think you are asking if the written test expires... if so yes it does.
I have to attempt the lab within one year of passing the written. If you do
not attempt the lab within one year, you have to retake the written.

I think the way it works is that you have to make your first lab attempt
within one year of taking the written - you then have three years to
pass the lab.

Check on cisco's web site for info - I think it was in the "scheduling
the lab exam section" of www.cisco.com/go/ccie

Re: CCIEBootCamp Labs

2000-09-29 Thread Circusnuts

I believe you're right Dale. I've a friend who took the CCIE lab twice this
year. He said 9 & 10 (the last two in the current CCIE bootcamp manual) are
harder than the lab itself. What flustered him (on the first attempt) was
the equipment (specifically the patch panel setup on the rack), & he took
too long drawing out the network scenario. I'm not sure what version
manuals are out currently (mine is a year old), & I know they've added voice
& IPSec (encryption) to the labs. Also- in the CCIE lab you'll work with
11.2(18), 11.3, & 12.0 IOS, & must know the defaults (& interworking
characteristics of each)...

My take on the lab in a nutshell :-)

Re: CCIEBootCamp Labs - difficulty

2000-09-28 Thread Dale Holmes

The CCBOOTCAMP labs vary in complexity and build from the first to the last,
so the first few labs are easier than the real thing, but as you move on
they become more and more like the real thing... Some are worse!

Re: cciebootcamp or ipexpert 's LAB workbook? [7:12613]

2001-07-18 Thread Wayne Lawson

Anyong,

I can answer your question - as I'm the President of IP Expert
Incorporated.

The IP Expert product line is slightly different from the ccbootcamp labs.
The
IPexpert approach was to develop 21 sections (21st section was added in this
new release - just completed this week). In sections 1-19 you will be
tested
on individual technologies - i.e. Section 2 is Frame Relay - you will be
tested
on multiple frame scenarios, Section 3 is OSPF - you will paste in the
"Base
Frame Relay configurations and then move onto the actual lab scenarios -
which
will be OSPF focused. Section 20 consists of 5 technically advanced labs
(All
technologies covered with a completion time of 10 to 16 hours / each lab)
and
Section 21 consists of troubleshooting scenarios. Each section consists of
an
"Instructor's Comments" section and a "technical tips" section. Also
included in
the purchase price is a documentation CD.

A few years ago, prior to me passing the CCIE lab and forming IP Expert I
did purchase Marc Russell's material - and at that time felt that it was a
very good
product. I know that he's been very successful with his material and
continues to
create additional labs. As far as comparing the product - It would be
completely
unethical for me to, in any form, discredit ANY competitor's product. I can
tell you
that both products have been designed and developed by highly trained
engineers
and that either product will increase your proficiency with Cisco
technologies.

Thanks - Wayne Lawson
