i don't recommand the boson network simulation, it's full of bugs.sad
stuff, and offers no indepth configuration capabilities, so you can't have
fun.
the cim's of cisco are OK, a bit more i guess, but the only i don't like is
that you are stuck to predefined lab, so you can't have a lot's fun either,
but the actual labs are ok, and can help you practice key points of the
simulated technologie, i have the iprouting and multiprotocol of the cisco
cims.
you can practice at r1r2.com it's a 2 router lab with 3 connections
ethernet, sync, async, the good part about it is that you don't to sign up
for a time slot or what ever, just telnet to it, if a lab is available get
in and play, user:cisco password:cisco

 Why don't you do this...

 1) Organize your thoughts and create an approach concerning things you
want
 to learn and improve.
 2) Collect the information you need regarding your next Cisco exam. You
may
pick up two subjects at once (routing switching).
 3) Read the blueprint of your next exam and make sure that you know -
theoretically - what each one means and its basic concepts. Would be
really
nice if you knew the command syntax also.

Once finished, email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'll share my home
lab
with you. I can't offer you an excellent stuff, even though I don't have
a
great cisco lab. This is what've got on so far:

 - 4 Cisco 2501
 - 2 Cisco 2502
 - 1 Cisco 2523
 - 2 Catalyst 2916 with modules supporting ISL/dot1q
 - 1 Catalyst 1900

With all this you can practice a lot of things, but I will not be able to
help you on remote access subjects. I think it's better than nothing. You
access it once or twice, prior taking the exam.. so you can play a lot and
become familiar with the environment. This will help you for your
examination. Do you know what I mean? You play it, online.

Other options are www.networkforce.com, www.ccprep.com. But you will have
to
 pay for it.

Let me know what you think.

If you are a Cisco customer, you can contact your Cisco reps, who can give
you info about the free labs that Cisco offers. These are internet / web
based. For the CCNP level of study, there are quite a few that are helpful.

Have you tried the Virtual Labs from Sybex or Cisco Interactive Mentors
which cover specific protocols?
I have them but have not given them a true beating yet.

Just a thought,

You can register on my website (http://www.mymucus.com) for free rack
access. There are currently, 7 Routers, a Switch, and a PIX. Should be
more than enough for the CCNA.

I have used the Sybex virtual trainer, which was OK for Routing but not
so helpful for BCRAN. I haven't used the other two subjects yet. You
should note that it is designed to accompany the Sybex books, so if you
are not buying those then it is less helpful. If you are cash-strapped
and want a couple of routers to practise with, then 3000 series are very
cheap on eBay. I have seen these running IOS 12.0 2500 images, you'll
probably need to upgrade the flash/RAM. If you're unemployed, don't try
to pass well, try to pass quickly. Good luck.
