They are probably just using them for interfaces. Indeed they should be
filtered though.

Yes this is true. Actually what happens is it starts to degrade, finally
you can't get anywhere on the lan interfaces usually unless you shut down
cef and re-enable it.

I have found that disabling CEF on the ethernet/fastethernet interfaces
seems to help in some trains.

You leave alot out. So I have to make some assumptions. For
example, which FE ties the two routers together? I will make an
assumption. I will assume you are not a transit AS as well. What
space are you going to announce? I will just put your netblocks as /24's,
instead of summarizing. Sometimes people want to
summarize, sometimes to make it easier, sometimes to save routes.
sometimes people like to deaggregate to get more granulaty in
their control. assuming the AS for CORE is say 1000. You would do:

2000-10-10 Thread Brian W.

My company's experience is that the power specs are grossly
overrated. For a 12008 with dual dc supplies, we us a 25 amp circuit with
a 20 amp breaker for each power supply. Regarding dc powered 7206s, we
have done 6 on a pair of 20 amp circuits, and 8 on 30.

Looks like cramsession gave bogus choices unless they might eigrp or ripv2.
Otherwise, all of the answers are wrong.

Hi Jay,

You make me look more silly. It was plain IGRP. That's the main reason
I thought I will check with you all whether anyone knows about IGRP
supporting VLSM.

I have copied below the question from Cramsession and the answer.

Which protocol supports VLSM?

A. IGRP
B. RIP
C. IP
D. IPX

Answer: A

There is no mention of EIGRP here.

igrp does NOT support VLSM.

Table 8-3 on page 153 of CID is a good authoritive answer for this
question as it applies to the CID exam.

Thanks,

You may also want to check the memory requirements of the IOS loaded on the
router and the memory you actually have on the router.

I usually just put dialer idle-timeout 2147483, I think this is the max
number of seconds you can put on it, and have had pretty good luck with
the connection not timing out.
