If you have anyone sleeping down below while running the engine for any length 
of time, a CO detector is an absolute must (regardless of insurance 
requirements).

Smoke detector was "recommended".

Propane detector was neither "required" or "recommended".

 

We had to add the CO detectors and we also added a smoke alarm.

 

This was all driven by Insurance requirements :-)

It really varies. I had the survey for insurance done last year and the CO 
detector was not mentioned. I have one onboard, but it was not even mentioned 
in the survey (either as “required” or as “existing”). Go figure.

When I replaced my masthead wind stuff last year, due to failure, it came
with a new cable. Your manual should tell you which transducer works. I
just tried to download the manual from Raymarine, but my internet is too
slow.

You only need one if you don't want to look like a Jeff Bezos rocket 
shortly after launch.
Propane is heavier than airso if you do get a leak, it will form a 
nice shaped charge in the bottom of your boat.

The ocean doesn't move that much.
Your choice.
