Re: Stus-List Cove stripe

I applied 3M Scotchcal striping tape for Touche's (1971 35-1) cove stripe
after repainting. Specifically 5/8 inch gold metallic, 3M 73403. It fits
the cove stripe depression very well. Here's a pic:

I have a C&C 99 and just measured mine. 1/2” will work best if I use 5/8” the
edges will protrude out of the mounded cove and it will be much more difficult
to line up. Since the edges may be out of cove the edges may wear out quickly.

Didn't. I applied the tape after boat was painted. I made a template for
cutting the ends so they would all be the same.

Before painting I removed the old tape with a 3M stripe off wheel. Could tell
if it was tape or paint or tape over a previous painted stripe

After Touché was reprinted in 2010, I replaced the cove stripe with 3M

Prior to painting, I removed the old stripe with a 3M Stripe Off wheel. It had
ragged edges but came off easily with the wheel.
