Re: Stus-List Tuning a CC 30 Mark 1

2015-01-26 Thread Robert Abbott via CnC-List

Curtis:

I think Michael Crombie is referring to the two 'mast collar bars' that
attach to the mast collar and come down the mast and bolt through it to
counter the upward force of halyards.

Re: Stus-List Tuning a CC 30 Mark 1

2015-01-26 Thread Gary Nylander via CnC-List
This may have been answered, but I didn't see it.

The hooks are about a foot long, flat pieces of stainless about an inch wide
and 1/8 inch thick with a hook at the top end. They bolt to each side of the
mast just under the cabin roof. There are two bolts which go through the hooks
from one side of the mast to the other. Then they go up through the mast
partners and hook onto the ring which is on top of the deck around the
partners. They are there to hold the cabin roof down when you are trying to
pull it up with halyards and the blocks which are attached to the ring.

Stus-List Tuning a CC 30 Mark 1

2015-01-25 Thread Alan Lombard via CnC-List
Hello all,

I wonder if there is a tuning guide for the CC 30 Mark 1, or perhaps one or
more of you can help me. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I have a later model, with the raised boom.

This is my first boat with a keel stepped mast, so I am still feeling my
way. For example I just found out, reading the archives, that the two pieces
which are bolted to the mast and hook to the mast collar are quite
important.

Any hints, tips, etc., especially ones that make the boat perform, much
appreciated. Some old campaigners might want to point me in the right
direction.

Thanks,

Alan

2015-01-25 Thread Antoine Rose via CnC-List
Curtis,
The hook is nice to have, not need to have. I don't have one. I simply have one
line attached to the mast side (lower than the boom). The line then goes up
through the cunningham grommet, down on the other side to a block located at
mast base and then back to the cockpit to a winch through a rope clutch.
