Re: Include external javascript file

2002-06-01 Thread Cocoon User

U have to edit your sitemap file
so cocoon know how to handle .js files

On Tue, 28 May 2002, Naquin, Beth wrote:

 A cocoon newbie question:

I am trying to include a javascript function from an external .js file into
 my xsl stylesheet.

I have the following in the xsl stylesheet:

 head
 ...
 script src=cold_reverse_script.js language=javascript /script

 /head

The file cold_reverse_script.js is in the same directory as the xsl
stylesheet contains javascript code for a single function:

 -
 function cold_reverse_search_criteria() {

 javascript code .

   }

 --

I have this entry in my sitemap:
 map:match pattern=**.js
 map:read src={1}.js mime-type=text/jscript/
 /map:match

 (I've also tried text/javascript).

However, this does not work. I get error on page whenever I try to access
the javascript function from the .js file. When I look at the source for
the HTML page in the browser, it shows script
 src=cold_reverse_script.js language=javascript /script just as I've
written it in the xsl file, but does not show the code that is in the .js
 file.

If I put the javascript function code directly into the script/script
tags, it works fine, but I'd like to use the external .js file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.htc files are nothing more than .js files
plus they are working just like VS's class modules

so .htc are not well-formed xml
they are not xml

i dontd understand why cocoon dont handle .htc file just like .js

How did you do it? I tried:
   map:match pattern=calendar.htc
   map:generate src=chart/calendar.htc/
   map:serialize type=html/
   /map:match

Note: My htc file is not well-formed xml. Is this the problem for me?

Re: how do I redirect in an Action?

2002-06-01 Thread Christian Haul

Peter Lerche wrote:

Hi, I have followed this thread with interest
and noted what Chris wrote.

Edgar, AFAIK this is not true. map:act can contain all other tags
that are allowed within a pipeline.

However, what about nested map:act tags.

No problem. An example is the mod-db sample sitemap. (In scratchpad for
2.0.x.)
Not sure whether nesting works with action-sets, though.

map:match pattern=form/validation/*
  map:act type=form-validator/
map:parameter name=descriptor value=descriptor.xml/
map:parameter name=validate-set value={1}/
   !-- form validation OK --
map:act type=db-saveform/

   !-- ??? '/' closes
tag ??? --
   !-- thus following
parameters belong to form-validator ? --

map:parameter name=table value=formtest/
   !-- form validation OK --
!-- form saved in db OK --
   map:generator yy/
   map:serialize xx/
/map:act
!-- form saved in db ERROR --
   map:generator z/
   map:serialize v/
 /map:act
   !-- form validation Error --
   map:generator ww/
   map:serialize qq/
/map:match

Apart from the comment this looks reasonable.

I have tried to get this working but without any luck.

Does an error show up in your logs?

Chris.

RE: Matcher and Mismatcher

2002-06-01 Thread Vadim Gritsenko

 From: Frank Taffelt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]

 Hello,

suppose i have the follwing request: /cocoon/css/style.css cocoon
logs the
 following substitutions:
  CONTEXT PATH: /cocoon
  SERVLET PATH: /css/style.css

for this request i have the following match in my sitemap:

 map:match pattern=**/css/*.css

This won't be matched because for this request URL passed to the matcher
from the sitemap is 'css/style.css' - note that there is *no* leading
'/' here.

Vadim

 map:read mime-type=text/css src=resources/css/{2}.css/
  /map:match

it seems that this pattern never matches the given request, access.log
says
 :
   org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: No pipeline matched
request:
 /css/style.css

The cocoon documentation states about matching: ... A string made of
two
asterisks ('**') matches zero or more characters, this time including
the
 path separator (the character '/'). ... .

In my understanding this includes also the request /css/styles.css
because
 the zero match.
 I'm using Cocoon Release 2.0.2

 thanks,
 frank

RE: [C2] bug: still have to touch XSP file after changing logicsheet

2002-06-01 Thread Vadim Gritsenko

 From: Christopher Painter-Wakefield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]

Cocoon doesn't recognize the dependencies of XSP files on the
logicsheet
they use. Changing a logicsheet does not force a recompile of the
dependent XSP pages. Instead we must manually touch each XSP page
using
 the logicsheet.

I know this has been reported in the past, but it is a constant
annoyance,
and I'm wondering if there is a time when we can expect a fix?

IIRC, this depends how you referencing your logicsheet. Changes in
built-in logicsheet are not monitored, but if logicsheet is referenced
directly from the XSP, changes are noticed.

Check out logicsheet.xsp sample - it works perfectly, and recognizes
dependencies in the hello.xsl logicsheet.

Vadim

 Christopher

Release 2.1 in one week? I can wait.

2002-06-01 Thread leo leonid

Diana Shanon indirectly announced forthcoming release 2.1 in her last
post. Normally I'm looking forward to new Cocoon releases, but this time
I'm skeptical.
The last weeks/days I posted several mails concerning the problem with
view-labels being ignored inside an aggregation. There has been very
little feedback, and nothing has been solved. Though this problem found
entry to the bugzilla db (BUG 8932) I'm afraid that it won't be fixed
before the release. This would cause broken indexes everywhere where the
Lucene Crawler and aggregation is used, because it relies on
cocoon-views. Therefore my petition to make labels work again within
aggregation in release 2.1. please.

Thanks,

---
There is a HEAD branch and sometimes a previous-version
branch that are maintained. Where will the patch go?
1. If it is a bug fix it should go to both branches
2. If something is totally new it goes into HEAD scratchpad.
3. Something in between, but does not break backward
compatibility _may_ go into both (and may not)
4. For everything else, a vote is required so
first it may go into HEAD, and then be VOTEd in order
   to sync this into branch.
Please note that structural changes have to be VOTEd first.

giving cinclude parameters?

2002-06-01 Thread Geoff Howard

I am generating a page with several cinclude elements which need to call
another pipeline with parameters - .ie:,
cocoon:/includedStuff.xml?param1=fooparam2=bar

How would you go about this?

What I'd wanted to do is to provide the params inside the cinclude element
like so:
cinclude:include src=cocoon:/includedStuff.xml
cinclude:param1foo/cinclude:param1
cinclude:param2bar/cinclude:param2
/cinclude:include

But don't see any support for that in the source for CInclude.

I won't know in advance how many there will be, and I obviously won't know
what they are. They do not already exist in the object model, and because
the same pipeline can be included multiple times in the same page with
different parameters, the object model doesn't really work.

[Announcement] XMLForm Howto live

2002-06-01 Thread Ivelin Ivanov

The XMLForm HOWTO is finally live for review by early adopters.
http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/xmlform/index.html

NOTE: XMLForm is available in the Cocoon 2.1-dev branch (latest).
An early version will ship in 2.0.3 scratchpad.
I encourage brave souls to work with the developer branch version (2.1-dev).

Thanks a lot to Diana for pushing it out and also thanks Vadim for the
responsiveness.

And again, kudos to Heidi for writing the doc.

Cheers,

Ivelin

RE: giving cinclude parameters?

2002-06-01 Thread Geoff Howard

well, that was how I have been going about it - i just wondered is there a
cleaner way to do this? the transformation to create that url is a little
messy. Thank you though.
