As Martin Schaible responded, if the server already has a license this is an acceptable use since all it is doing is scanning a file. If you still have problems passing Parameters, You might be able to create a batch file to take care of the difficult things. c:\nod32.bat %1 %2 %3... Where %1 is parameter that may change from scan to scan. (Don't remember if you have to call the file name from command line scanner) Batch file could be "C:\Program Files\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\ecls.exe %1 /no-boots /sfx /rtp /adware /unsafe /unwanted /pattern /heur /clean-mode=NONE /no-log-console" It has been a while since I worked with batch files, but I believe you can pass the results from the exe back to the batch file as well. If you ran DIR /X from within the "ESET NOD32 Antivirus" directory then it will indeed display a blank short name for "ecls.exe" because THAT name truly is LESS than 8+3 characters. If you are trying to find the short name for "\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\", you have to run the DIR /X in the PARENT directory of THAT subdirectory. So, DIR /X "C:\Program Files" will tell you the short name for the "ESET NOD32 Antivirus" subfolder (something like 'ESETNO~1'). Then, DIR /C "C:\" will tell you the short name for the "Program Files" subfolder (something like 'Progra~1' or 'Progra~2'). THEN you string those short names together and get something like: C:\Progra~1\ESETNO~1\ecls.exe (that's just a for instance, NOT your actual path). OK, here is the configuration I have that is working if anyone else wants to use it. This is for Business verion 4, but looking at the instructions for version 5 they are the same. SCANFILE2 C:\Progra~1\ESET\ecls.exe /base-dir="C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 AntiVirus" /no-boots /sfx /rtp /adware /unsafe /unwanted /pattern /heur /clean-mode=NONE /no-log-console VIRUSCODE2 50 VIRUSCODE2 10 Exit code 50 is a threat was found, exit code 10 is some files could not be scanned and treat as suspicious. Again, this is working with COPYING the ecls.exe FROM "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 AntiVirus\" TO "C:\Program Files\ESET\" This is on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit and the installed version of NOD32 is 4.2.71.2 64 bit Business edition. Hi John, I may be asking the obvious: But given that this is a new 64 bit system, any chance that you or some other admin had disabled 8.3 file name creation for that NTFS volume for performance reasons? THAT would explain how you could possibly have a LONG directory name but NO 8.3 equivalent. Other than that, I suppose one of your earlier messages left out the "ESET" subdirectory bit.
