RE: [Cooker] new stuff for hackmozilla
hi, hmmm...never happeend with me... but anyway, i think the main reason why we are getting this is that the profile manager (or whatever that is) is in the mail package. we need to move it to the browser package. but maybe a merge would be nice. me thinks that if you only install brwoser and install and you try to access mail, it could cause segfault or other funny results, though i'm not too sure. but if you are going to merge the stuff, please merge them all (i.e. brower+install+mail.), but leave teh devel in a separate package. that way you can remove all the dependencies which i created as a quick hack. btw, here's a new mozilla.sh file. i fixed some stuff there...you may get funny reuslts if you run it, but it's actually mozilla's fault i think ..it doesn't seem to read all my args properly. geoffrey lee (snail talk) [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Stefan van > der Eijk > Sent: Sunday, March 05, 2000 5:18 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [Cooker] new stuff for hackmozilla > > > geoffrey, > > > here are some new stuff for hackmozilla. a new spec (look at > the changelog > > section.), and a new mozilla bourne shell script file. now has > args support. > > > enjoy. > not quite yet... > > I've fixed some flees in the .spec file... but then it won't install. > take > a look at this: > > [root@stefan i686]# rpm -Uvh > hackmozilla-browser-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk.i686.rpm > hackmozilla-mail-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk.i686.rpm > loop in prerequisite chain: hackmozilla-browser hackmozilla-mail > hackmozilla-browser > > [root@stefan i686]# rpm -Uvh > hackmozilla-browser-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk.i686.rpm > error: failed dependencies: > hackmozilla-mail is needed by > hackmozilla-browser-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk > > [root@stefan i686]# rpm -Uvh > hackmozilla-mail-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk.i686.rpm > error: failed dependencies: > hackmozilla-browser is needed by > hackmozilla-mail-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk > libmsgbaseutil.so is needed by > hackmozilla-mail-5.0-0.CVS2303.2mdk > > Of course I could go ahead and --force it... Re: [Cooker] howto- mod_put for apache
I have built a mod_put RPM for Mandrake. It is on the Advanced Extranet web page (http://coruscant.netrevolution.com) With the Advanced Extranet, every module can be inserted/removed in real-time. It includes documentation for every module, and it puts a sample configuration file in /etc/httpd/conf/addon-modules/. I fired up my browser with http://24.13.20.26/how-put.html/ and it gives me a 404 error. Could you please e-mail it to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] so I can include it directly in the module? Re: [Cooker] Remote printing, also having problems!
k' took a little fiddling, but here's what i did: 1) created an /etc/hosts.equiv file to including "localhost2" 2) deleted /etc/printcap 3) reran the DrakConf or printtool. i did #1, #3 but it still didn't work. think there was a mess of junk in the printcap or just the fact that it was already configured in some areas that it didn't work after a #1 and #3. so after doing #2 also, it finally works. somewhat of a pain to get to linux boxes to see a printer on a localdomain eh? cptkidd wrote: > I have 2 linux boxes, both on a "localdomain" or local area network > (localhost1 and localhost2). Yeah, "rpm -q --scripts" didn't show me any either. I am wondering however if they were uninstall scripts from the previous version that was installed that I was upgrading over. b. -- Brian J. It still require Microsoft's FPSE, which only come in binaries (AFAIK). Looking from the alpha perspective, I need some of compaq's TRU64 libs to get the TRU64 version of FPSE working... I'd rather see more effort going into this project: http://www.nimh.org/fpse.shtml and http://www.webdav.org/mod_dav/ (I submitted a recent mod_dav contrib package)... > it's gpl too. [Cooker] rpmfind.net rsync server
Has the rpmfind.net rsync server lowered their service levels?? I used to update my local mirror with daily logons to their server, and now all I get is a message that only 20 simultaneous users is allowed. I never received the message until a week ago, and since then I can't get in at all. What's happened? Why don't any of the other sites set up rsync servers, as it seems to be significantly more efficient than using wget. Jim Bradley -- Maryville, MO USA ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
[Cooker] suggestion for frontpage+apache
hello, i just saw this on freshmeat. i don't have time to try it out yet, and even if i do, i don't have the resources to test if it fully works (web server won't be up for a while...) what does everyone think? http://home.edo.uni-dortmund.de/~chripo/ it's gpl too. geoffrey lee (snail talk) [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Cooker] messages upgrading info, texinfo and info-install
I got the following messages when upgrading the texinfo/info/install-info suite of packages: # rpm -Uvh info-4.0-8mdk.i586.rpm texinfo-4.0-8mdk.i586.rpm info-install-4.0-8mdk.i586.rpm info## install-info: No such file or directory for /usr/info/history.info.bz2 install-info: No such file or directory for /usr/info/readline.info.bz2 execution of script failed info-install## texinfo ## b. BTW: These reports of unexprected messages when performing upgrades seem to be getting ignored. If you don't care about what messages one is get- ting when one does an install, please just let me know as I will not waste my time reporting them. Thanx. -- Brian J.
