[Cooker] Stupid question..

2001-01-26 Thread Chris Young

Ok, its a dumb question, but why does rpm complain about failed dependencies
for stuff that is most assuredly there? (ie. ld, /bin/sh, etc.) They are
always very generic utilities that are definately installed in the
appropriate places.

What can I do to fix it?

Thanks
Chris

RE: [RE: [Cooker] Re: iso image files]

2000-12-15 Thread Chris Young

while I realise that there would be a possible sync issue. there are ways to
minimize that.

CRC of the filenames for example. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it
would be trivial to do, but I am sure it could save a tremendous amount of
time for people who can't get a full fileset before the next update.

Probably down to about 1 cent now ;-)

RE: [Cooker] Re: iso image files

2000-12-15 Thread Chris Young

I agree that it would be better that way. in fact, I thought there was
supposed to be a current Cooker ISO set available on linuxberg, but I
couldn't find it. I just took the script from the 7.2beta and modified it
to fit my needs. It would seem that the mirror could just kick off the same
script via cron then there would always be a current cooker iso set.

just my $.02

Pablito,

I made a set of ISO files from the Dec 9th fileset. It's not the newest,
but if you want I can probably post them someplace for you.

Nora,

After some more digging I found a script on the site from the 7.2 beta that
does exactly what I wanted. It might be of use to you also.

[Cooker] Stupid cooker question...(Building an ISO image)

2000-12-07 Thread Chris Young

Ok, I read the instructions on the Cooker page on how to create an ISO image
from a cooker mirror, but it doesnt seem to jive with my file set.

Here is the situation. I have a current mirror set of cooker, but there are
two things I don't understand.

First, the instructions on making an ISO say to use 'mkisofs -r -b
boot-imagefile -c catalogfile -o outputfile source-of-cooker-tree'. The
first problem is I have no catalog file (that I can find) in my mirror.

The second problem is, the cooker/Mandrake tree is apparently both CD's
(inst and ext). How do I seperate the two so that my ISO file will not be
larger than the CD media?

TIA,

Chris
