Re: [Cooker] TV-out config tool

2002-06-11 Thread Seppo Järvinen

What does your program do that atitvout doesn't do? Does it actually WRITE
working X config that can be then used to switch between monitor/tv/both?

I have (as many others do too) a laptop with ATI chip (Mobility M1) and
the only gripe I have with atitvout is it's inability to use BOTH lcd
Svideo SAME TIME (as the windows driver does).

yes but my tool configure TV-out for Xfree.
 ATI cards already works !
I need help for Nvidia and Matrox cards because I have only an ATI Rage 128.

If you want tv-out and aren't limited to Nvidia or Matrox. ATI cards
will work if you hookup the s-video output before booting the machine...
There's also a utility to turn it on and off but I haven't tried it
 myself.

Re: [Cooker] flash + kde + mozilla

2002-05-27 Thread Seppo Järvinen

In my MDK8.2 / KDE3 setup with Mozilla 1.0RC2 I don't experience such
freezes. BUT! I do suffer from the infamous badly written Flashplugin
problem that surfaces itself if the Flash uses some specific commands.
Then it just KILLS Mozilla, and after that I can't use any flash page
before restarting X.

mozilla continues to work and loaads the page... it looks like mozilla's
flash plugin is waiting for the sound device

i'm sure i'm not the only one using mozilla + kde .. how other people
 solve this?

 thanks,

[Cooker] PHP 4.2.0 Compiled WITHOUT session support WTF?!?!

2002-05-11 Thread Seppo Järvinen

Whose great idea it was to compile PHP without session support I ask...

I'd appreciate if the session support would be compiled in once again.

I've also tried to recompile the RPM from source rpm, but it either keeps
adding '--without-session --disable-session' to configure line or doesn't
compile...

I'm not sure how valid the $5 movie ticket figure is. In Manhattan,

On a tuesday, South African movie tickets are half-price (roughly
R9,00), that is less than $1 (ok, so normal price is R18~$2). Puts our

Re: [Cooker] Apache 1.3.19-1mdk and php-4.0.4pl1-3mdk

2001-04-09 Thread Seppo Järvinen

Thank you, I forgot to specify the problem in my last mail, but specifying
it is quite hard as there is nothing on the logs. Apache does startup nice
and clean and seemingly so does php module too, but accessing a php page
gives SAVE AS dialog... so the apache - php interaction is broken on
these beta3 rpms.

It's apparently broken as in beta2 it worked, where can I get newer RPMS
to install and correct the problem? And no, I don't want to start
rebuilding from SRPMS as I'm very low on hd-space.
