I think that might be difficult since Pront Page Extensions are a microsoft
product requiring registration and are not open-source.

However, look here

http://www.e-gineer.com/instructions/install-frontpage-extensions-for-apache-on-linux.phtml

That might be helpful.

Title: RE: [Cooker] suggestion for frontpage+apache

Hello,

The installation of FrontPage Server Extensions is quite difficult for a newbie as I am.
Should it be possible to make a separate RPM of Apache + FPSE preconfigured (without the need of compile Apache sources) ?

Well, not really... it starts with configuring... It's just one big perl
script, and you need to go in and edit stuff there, and there's the
httpd.conf
that needs some editing...

I'll try to make a package out of it... maybe it can be integrated into
the apache packages later...

The Mandrake Apache package has most of these patches, including fpexe and
suexec patches. However, the package you submitted contains a few more
features. It it can compile without problems on the Mandrake version of
Apache, I will include it in the next release.

I looked into the project, looks interesting. I don't know if it's stable
or not.

Look on the Advanced Extranet web site
(http://coruscant.netrevolution.com), you will find almost every apache
module possible, including the latest version of mod_dav. Everything has
been optimized with the SGI performance patch
(oss.sgi.com/projects/apache).

Seems to be some wrapper that makes fpse a bit more secure... It still
require
Microsoft's FPSE, which only come in binaries (AFAIK).

Looking from the alpha perspective, I need some of compaq's TRU64 libs
to get
the TRU64 version of FPSE working... I'd rather see more effort going
into
this project:

http://www.nimh.org/fpse.shtml

and

http://www.webdav.org/mod_dav/

(I submitted a recent mod_dav contrib package)...

The wrapper, that is...
