[Coworking] Coworking UK - Collaboration between coworkers & coworking spaces

2012-11-27 Thread The Digital Work Hub
Hi everyone,

I really like what this group is doing and what it is providing to
coworkers, owners and operators a like.

Online I've been following the group & steadily increasing my input into it
so that I contribute as much as I take from it. Over the past few months
there has also been a steady increase in the contributions from other
people in the UK whether it be coworkers or space owners/operators. Off the
back of this I've been working offline to engage with some of these people
in an attempt to build a network of coworkers & spaces in the UK that will
share, support and provide advice to each other that is specifically
tailored to the UK.

So I'm now putting it out there to the wider UK (and none UK) coworking
audience, to say that if anyone is interested in these efforts please feel
free to get involved. A few of us are already working on things in the
background and it would be great to have more people on board. To this end
I've set up the Coworking UK LinkedIn group with a couple of sub groups.
There is also an on going discussion about what platform should be used as
a repository for all the resources that are being collated. This repository
doesn't have to be anything more complicated than something that will allow
everyone to easily & quickly identify the information that they need and
get at the particular article, tweet, blog, document, spreadsheet, slide
show etc in question. It's clear what some of the obvious choices for this
platform are and anyone with additional thoughts on what should be used is
most welcome to give their pennies worth!!!

Alec

[Coworking] Changing Media Landscape Leads Some Freelancers Towards Coworking

2012-11-27 Thread Yael Grauer
hi, coworkers!

A few weeks ago, I was sleuthing for contacts at General Assembly for a
blog post I was writing on coworking.

Although I never did get anyone from GA to talk to me, I had no shortage of
interviews. A few people asked me to post the finished piece on here, so
here it is:
http://ebyline.biz/2012/11/changing-media-landscape-leads-some-freelancers-towards-coworking/

Thanks for reading!

Re: [Coworking] CRM recommendation for 4 coworkers?

2012-11-27 Thread Cristina Santamarina
Well we use cobot to manage the members in our space (what else!?) and I
use Streak to manage inquiries for cobot. It works well, I can define the
stages of my relation with people and add notes, change fields... the first
time I receive an email from someone I create a box for that person, fill
in information, and I add further emails to this box and update comments as
needed. The cool thing about streak is that you can also use it to schedule
reminders, and that all the data can of course be exported to csv. I still
like to have somehow raw data that I can use to get the exact information I
am looking for.

On the other hand I also use streak to organize Rails Girls workshop
(something I do in my free time) and it is what I use to keep all my
contacts - organizers, sponsors, coaches, attendees... Again, the cool
thing about streak is that you can really customize all the fields and that
everything is kept in your inbox. I wouldn't say the tool is specific for
lead generation and management, it is a real CRM! Plus, the support is just
great - I started using streak at the beginning of their beta and they were
very responsive about the bugs I found.

[Coworking] Re: Business Model Study Group

2012-11-27 Thread julianne
Hey there all,

I would love to keep in the conversation - just catching up with my fellow
Groupies :-)

I am sure that you guys have also kept up with the latest survey that came
out here from Kelly Brown - actually, can anyone send me those results - I
am having trouble retrieving them from Survey Monkey.

Cheers everyone!

[Coworking] Re: Hi, from a new and lonesome freelancer!

2012-11-27 Thread julianne
Sounds like you guys are ready for a Jelly!

If you haven't heard of a Jelly, it's a kind of informal coworking, and it
can happen anywhere!

There is a worldwide Jellyweek happening in January, if you want to give it
a try - it is always nice to be a part of something huge! But also, you can
do it anytime!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Julianne

We have 20 spaces listed in Barcelona - one is a business center though.
