Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Simultaneous Release Page 2020-09

2020-08-31 Thread Nanivadekar, Nikhil J
Hi Wayne,
I have created release records for Eclipse Collections 10.3.0 and 10.4.0. We
will be contributing 10.4.0 to simrel.

Thanks,
Nikhil.

I believe that I've made all the updates that are possible.

For those projects that owe us a release record, please let me know when that
release record is created and I'll update the page.

AFAICT, I have three Planning Council +1s. I have optimistically added Eclipse
JustJ to the participation list in anticipation of receiving a couple more +1s
and no -1s.

Please have a look to ensure that I've correctly recorded your project's
participation correctly.

In particular, please make sure that I have the version right. If I've made a
mistake... please first make sure that you've created a release record for the
right version and then let me know to update the tracking page to point to that
version.

If you are contributing a new major or minor release and have not engaged in a
release review since September 16/2019, then you need to submit your IP Log and
connect with EMO ASAP to initiate the release review process. Note that you
only need to submit your IP Log for review if you are required to engage in a
release review. There's more information in the
handbook.

Based on messages on this list, both Eclipse Corrosion, Eclipse EMFStore, and
Eclipse Tools for Cloud Foundry (CFT) have dropped out, so they've been removed
from the list.

AFAICT, the corrosion.aggrcon file still exists and is not disabled. Also,
since CFT has dropped out, its aggrcon file should also be removed (not just
disabled). Can somebody take care of that, please?

Thanks for all your efforts.

Lorenzo,

I don't know if you got help on the Bugzilla, but you can configure this
yourself via Manage Jenkins -> Global Tools Configuration -> JDK
installations... adding jdk11-latest for
/shared/common/java/oracle/jdk-11_x64

I had to do that for the Oomph and EMF instances.

Ah OK, you're right; I faced so many deps related churns lately that I lost
the causality chain of all that.
Sorry for blaming you; and in the end, I'm relatively happy using JIRO now.

2020-08-31 Thread Frederic Gurr
Hi,

To clarify: in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=565263 you
requested the move to JIRO since LSP4E requires newer versions of
webkitgtk which we can't support in our old environment.

Supporting newer JDK version is a different matter and can be done
easily on the old infra since it does not require an OS upgrade.

Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] SWT based 3D plot library?

2020-08-31 Thread Christoph Läubrich
As 3D is always a little bit messy to integrate in SWT I think the only
option would be to get jzy3d, report bugs and help to improve when
possible the SWT integration.

As jz3d uses JOGL and JOGL is one of the frameworks that could be used
with STW OpenGL it should be at least possible to integrate it natively.

At least for me that would the the most promising option beside waiting
until someone fires up the perfect charting lib for me :-)

Thanks,

this was on my radar, but I fear this can only be used via SWT_AWT bridge, and
so this would be a no go for me (SWT_AWT is extremely dangerous and crashes /
deadlocks on GTK3 as much as it only can). See
https://github.com/jzy3d/jzy3d-api/blob/master/jzy3d-swt/src/main/java/org/jzy3d/bridge/swt/Bridge.java.

We recently had the same need for LSP4E. The answer is that you need to
move to JIRO and use an agent (eg centos-8) that provides java 11 and
switch to this agent.
Older, non-JIRO instances, are not really supported any more.

Hi Wayne,

LSP4E will be 0.15.1
https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.lsp4e/releases/0.15.1
Wild Web Developer will be 0.11.1
https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.wildwebdeveloper/releases/0.11.1
m2e *might* be 1.16.2 but that depends on a change upstream non-SimRel
project (LemMinX) that not certain for 2020-09.
