Seems to me this antic of Aleisha's should get her banned from this list

Lunacy In Glorious Flower

Notes From The Pansy Bed

Oh joy. Today we have the latest antics of our educational
parsnips as they disassemble civilization. From the
News-Journal Online I learn that Flagler Country, Florida,
hitherto not noted for anything, is trying to turn yet another
little boy into an ungendered vegetable. Every day in every
way, we get nuttier and nuttier.

"A fourth-grader at Bunnell Elementary School received a
10-day suspension for drawing a picture of himself shooting
another pupil with a laser gun."

  God almighty.

The damning artwork was with the story. Yep, kid picture.
Laser gun. Prima facie case. A dangerous psychopath. The
machinery of correctness, ever alert for opportunities for
somber fatuity, leaped into action, and recommended . . .
what? See whether you can guess:

 (1) That the education apparatchiks grow up

 (2) That they apologize to the kid for being such lugubrious
 asses

 (3) That they send him to counseling.

  How did you do?

Said Superintendent Robert Williams, for whom English seems
to be a recent second language, "We are looking to find some
help for the child. We are looking at some counseling. We are
 not taking this lightly."

Clearly not, which worries me. If there's anything that calls
more loudly for being taken lightly than a kid playing
spacemen, I'm not sure what it might be.

Think about it. The kid's nine. All his life he has watched
Star Wars, in which no one does anything but shoot people with
laser guns, occasionally pausing for philosophical drivel. He
has presumably watched Star Trek, in which people with funny
ears and no personalities shoot each other with laser guns
built into their Palm Pilots. Now he's playing spacemen. Who
 would have thought it?

Educationists unsettle me. They seem to understand kids as a
pygmy understands a television. The pygmy can be taught to
recognize a television. ("Yeah, boss. Dass him, you betcha.
Heap talkatalk.") But the pygmy hasn't the faintest clue how a
 television works.

I don't doubt that most teachers at Bunnell could recognize a
child -- that is, pick him out of a lineup also containing a
llama, an engine block, and a birthday cake. ("Uh, let me see
 . . . number three. That one's the kid, officer. Yes, I'm
 sure.")

But they don't seem to have the foggiest idea how kids work,
boys in particular. They know what they want boys to be, but
they don't know what boys are. What they want them to be is
ideologically correct little catatonics who sit quietly and
 play with dolls.

In fact male chillun are wildmen. Always have been. It's what
makes them worthwhile, if sometimes difficult. They definitely
want to zap the Klingons. Any Klingons. When I was a kid in
Alabama, it was Yankees, and on the playgrounds and in the
woods we ran those varmints back up north where they belonged.
A Yankee is just another form of Klingon.

Now you couldn't do it today. You'd get those tiresome racial
lobbies threatening to burn cities or file suit. Heaven help a
kid playing at cowboys and Injuns. It would offend preliterate
aboriginals everywhere. Step by step, we're ideologizing even
 recess.

It gets better. Says the story:

"Al Martinez, the father of the child portrayed as the victim
in the picture, said Tuesday he was disappointed with the
 10-day suspension.

'They didn't seem to take things seriously. It was like a
joke,' Martinez said. 'He should have gotten a little more
that what the got when (he) threatened a person.'"

Swell. Let's give the kid the max. How about the chair?
Lethal injection? Maybe mutilation would help.

Permit me to suggest my own idiosyncratic response. If some
unisex wuss did this to my kid, I believe I'd say, "Why don't
you wrap your stupid school in barbed wire, roll it in salt,
heat it red hot, and become an amazing proctologic curiosity?
 I'd be glad to help."

See? I can do therapy too.

But the real question is: What will this militant
gooberishishness do to the kid? The correct answer, I think,
is that nobody cares. What is wanted is ideological
conformity. The child's welfare is secondary. Still, think
about it: A kid plinks an android pod-monster from a bad
neighborhood in Andromeda, or yells, "Bangbang, you're dead!"
-- and he's booted from school for ten days. What then?

He's immediately pegged as a freak. Given the moral flaccidity
of everyone involved, local parents will probably forbid their
kids to play with the killer next

[CTRL] Zero tolerance

2001-04-16 Thread BB

-Caveat Lector-

Does it seem just a tiny bit more than a coincidence that
school administrators in districts all over the land are suddenly,
in unison, branding 5 and 6 year old children as being "sexual-
harassers" and "potential terrorists" -- for simply being children?

In the world's history, has a little boy ever tried to kiss a little
girl
on the cheek? Now he's guilty of sexual harassment, with a file,
and probably a record.

A boy maks a DRAWING of a gun, or God forbid, uses his index
finger to make like a gun -- the Intelligensia running our
spectacularly successful educational system brand him a
potential terrorist, suspend him for 10 days, get him counselling,
and this incident will travel with him the rest of his career.

The Education Nazi's site their sacred "zero tolerance" policies --
(equate that with zero-IQ.)

Now, where did THIS facet of Americana come from? When in
our history did we have ZERO TOLERANCE for ANYTHING
of this kind?? It just sprouted up, here it is, and it's an
accepted, permanent factor in our day to day living.

This amazing coincidence, of hundreds of these outrageous
incidents of child-prosecution by heavy-handed, holier than thou
school administrators, all within a very short time, seems about
as coincidental as gas prices in every state jumping 10 cents
2 days before a holiday weekend. Some coincidence.

Strange you showed no concern when a 6 year old black kid murdered a 6

kind of picture that akid drew of his family life but worse yet, what was
done after he took a pencil and stabbed another child prior to murdering
the other.

This child was not punished; we are told to hug him, poor

where are the Israelies getting billions and billions in diamonds?

They will do unto the Holy Land what Lansky did to Cubabuild

One had to admire Castro for kicking the gamblers out of the
Bilderbergers Hotels and making the temples into orphanages for street

By their fruits ye shall know them all..soon we will be paying $100

So its Show Time - on with the War - makes great news for CNN - the

  HASHEMITES CONTINUE TO COLLABORATE

MID-EAST REALITIES © - www.MiddleEast.Org - Washington - 4/16:
Today the Jordanian Foreign Minister goes to Israel even as Israeli bombs kill
Syrians, Lebanese and Palestinians and the whole region is being humbled and shaken by
the Israeli Generals, accused war criminal Ariel Sharon now in charge. Of course the
Hashemite Regime has always been the most collaborationist of them all, going way back
to the early days of the pre-State Zionist movement, to the days of Abdullah I and
Glubb Pasha. And the recent "Arab summit" in Amman, since which time even
demonstrating on behalf of the struggling Palestinians has been outlawed by the "Royal
Palace", was a rather despicable display of opulence and gross impotence.
As was the case long ago as well the public talk is of "peace plans", but the
underlying reality is that the Hashemite Regime is primarily interesting in saving
itself, enriching itself, selling itself, and controlling the Palestinians, both those
who make up the majority of the citizens of today's Kingdom of Jordan and those who
remain to the west of the Jordan River. Indeed, if it had not been for the connivance
of the Hashemite Regime with the British and the Israelis long ago and ever since
history would have likely taken very different turns not so miserable for the
fractured Arab peoples.
And the same can be said for modern history as well. The Egyptians have conducted
themselves miserably ever since Anwar Sadat was outmanuevered and tricked at Camp
David in 1978 -- essentially become political whores for the Americans in the region,
collecting yearly billions and much covert under-the-table help for playing this role.
But the Hashemite Regime has been playing such a role long before the Egyptians
started to, the former King having actually been on the CIA payroll after London
passed him off to Washington for safe-keeping.
Those interested in the detailed history of the Hashemite Regime should read the
book COLLABORATION ACROSS THE JORDAN by Professor Avi Shlaim at Oxford University --
at least that was the title of the first printing of this remarkably insightful book
though interestingly, after the Hashemites "intervened" with the author and the
publisher, the title of subsequent editions was changed. Additional information can
also be found at http://www.MiddleEast.Org/jordan.htm

JORDAN'S FOREIGN MINISTER BRINGING REVISED PEACE PLAN
 By Herb Keinon

JERUSALEM POST - Jerusalem (April 16) -
Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdulilah Khatib will arrive today - the highest level Arab
official to arrive since the breakdown of the Camp David talks in July - and is
expected to formally present an Egyptian-Jordanian proposal for restarting
negotiations with the Palestinians.

But Ra'anan Gissin, an adviser to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, said that unless there
are serious modifications in the plan, "it will go nowhere."

Khatib, who met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat on Thursday, is
slated to meet separately with Sharon, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, and Defense
Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer in Jerusalem. Khatib is expected to be accompanied by
senior Jordanian security officials.

Both Sharon and Peres have already rejected the proposals in their current form.

In addition to the meeting with Khatib, Israeli and Palestinian security chiefs are
slated to meet at US Ambassador Martin Indyk's home in

Welcome
to OnStar. How May We Invade You?Forget
the superhighway. Privacy on the plain-old highway is the new big concern
among consumer advocates.
by
Brooke
Shelby BiggsApr 13, 2001

You shiver in
fear when you sit down in front of the computer in your den, because you
have heard that these things called "cookies" are secretly collecting personal
information about you, and maybe some sinister fellow is lying in wait
to snatch your credit-card information out of the ether. You flip off the
infernal machine and climb into your big late-model land-yacht for a good
old-fashioned Sunday drive.
Little do you
know, you
may just have less privacy in your Cadillac than you do on the Web.
Where Web browser
cookies can track what kinds of Web sites you visit and what kind of computer
you're using, new automobile information technologies such as OnStar
-- which uses a global positioning system (GPS) -- can
track your physical location. The handy service can unlock your car
door via satellite, or help you find your way in an unfamiliar town on
the middle of the night. Maybe it smacks of Big Brother if you're given
to that sort of paranoia, but at least he's a really helpful brother.
Get out of your
car and turn on your cell phone for a casual chat, and you're back in the
panopticon: if your
cell phone is a relatively new model, it too has a GPS chip. That's
because the 1999 Wireless Communications and Public Safety Act requires
such chips in mobile phones so public safety agencies can find people in
emergencies (just as dispatchers have instant access to your address
when you call 911 from a land-line phone).
GPS systems
in your car or telephone can track the adresses you visit -- the doctor's
office, the liquor store, your lover's house. At the moment, the companies
that can collect this data are under no legal obligation to protect your
privacy. They may sell a permanent record of your movements to marketing
firms, your employer, your wife, your bitterest enemies.
OnStar's
privacy policy assures users that "You take privacy seriously, and
so do we at OnStar. It's our way of sustaining your trust in OnStar and
our products and services." But the company's privacy policy also says
"we may routinely collect information, such as ... the location of your
vehicle provided via satellite, or any other information, including your
preferences or usage patterns." The policy does not say that the company
sells or plans to sell or share such records of your wherabouts. Then again,
it doesn't say it doesn't, either. Ominously, the online privacy
policy ends with this: "OnStar reserves the right to alter its privacy
principles as business needs require."
Consumer
advocates attacked Sprint for being among the first to put the federally
mandated GPS chips in its cellular phones. Sprint has said it will only
use the information to help police and firefighters to locate Sprint customers
in emergencies. But again, there is no law requiring Sprint or any other
cellular firm from collecting, storing, or selling information it may gather
on the comngs and goings of its customers.
This week the
Center for Democracy Technology (CDT) formally
asked the Federal Communications Commission to develop regulations
on how "location tracking" information may be used by businesses and agencies
that collect it.
Alan Davidson,
an attorney with the CDT,
told Business
Week: "Location is information that was never easily available
before -- and certainly never remotely to third parties without even the
target's knowledge. I don't think people realize how available the information
is, and how it is already being used. We've never had a situation where
information about the location of millions of people is suddenly readily

While OnStar

the beginning of the troubling potential of such technology. The CDT's

Is regulation

issue, although neither has made any commitment to date. An

devices will "likely to be the next thing we have to do." Reassuring, isn't
it?

Thank you Cliff - and Mary, this one publisher at Henry Regnery in 1969,
a Dominick Abel, told me I had stumbled onto something significant - he
also said no doubt I would be sued for at the time, who would believe
that the Mafia was in bed with the CIA, and that Jean Dixon was a psuedo
religious political propagandist engaged in psychological warfare.

So a Mary Ferrell in Holland Texas - Bud Fensterwald of the Committee to
Investigte Assassinations had me send stuff to Mary, who wanted to edit
same - the last thing I heard about Mary, her son had been murdered -
she used material from my book.

So if anyone out there has let us say a professional author, who steals
and uses your work without permission - do not feel bad...like my
old friend Sybil Leek, who was MI6 - she took a lot of my research for
her one book without my permission, made a lot of money, then got sued
for 5 million dollars by a man named Peter Noyes.guess who got her
off the hook then for she could not wait for me to send her copy of my
copyright which saved her hidebut cost her $12,000 and maybe later
her life.for this woman, who had many best sellers, said this bible
calendar had brought trouble into her own house.

I worked on on the outside; even J. Edgar Hoover told Frank Fitzsimmons
of the old Teamsters Union, that I was getting stuff on my own for I had
them up in arms - and Jimmy Hoffa invited me to Washington DC to meet
with him for I knew he was next on list.

Much to my surprise I then discovered the man who was in same cell with
Hoffa for over a year, sat in a quiet room with his friends, listening
to every word I was saying.

So this one Agent said it would take a College Professor to understand
what I was saying - one who knew about secret societies, astrology and
codes, and had masonic training no doubt, etc., and with knowledge of
the KKK - and I might add the KKK you will never see in the open, not
the real knights.

It would take someone who knows all about religion - and as a reseaher
my old friend, the MI6, told me I was the best reseacher she had ever
seen and met.

She did however use my work without permission and was working on the
bible calendar code before she died.

She was the writer, but she too had an editor as do all professional
writers - I had the theory, which I called a conspiracy theory and had
it copyrighted as such for my own protection for I had received many
threats - after the Ohio State Lantern did a story on it - you see I was
getting to people who understoodo me

The biggest concern I was told indirectly that once I started attaching
names - say ike a Walter Lippman to this stuff, it could be very
dangerous.

People try to scare you off. I never professed to be a writer; when I
went to IBM school to get basics on how to operate a computer, I broke
the damn record at that school and got my 120 wpm certificate - and the
record still holds..and that was on a typewritier.

I think faster than I can type; my way often with writing may not seem
clear only because I presume many understand things I say, as Cliff Hume
does and as you seem to understand.

Have fun seeing at times who delivers the attacks in an attempt to
squelch me and I say, I have been attacked and threatened by
pros..including local Jewish Mafia who ran drugs and the one either
got Hoffa away or dumped him in Lake Erie. I have information and so
did the FBI that tracks led to the farm of Donald Plotnick, a doctor,
who had one Hit Man living on his farm, who "blew away" anybody at drop
of hatand went to prison for same and was pardoned - get this - by a
CFR Govenor after murdered a black doctor while dressed like County
Sheriff with those guys?

To get at truth you sometimes step on big toes and little toes..the
little toes scream the loudest - censor her, censor, censor
censor..by their fruits you shall know them.

Thank you Cliff once again, and Mary I never said I was professional
writer - even Mary Farrell told me hey, you have a lousey style, but you
sure as hell know how to get at the facts..her son was murdered, my
old friend Gordon Novel told me in 1984..body found in river in
burlap sack - and so you see if somebody has stolen my work and I did
not g et a big name in a book, I do not care.

My research became a quest - I come from a long line of Knights who were
not known for being Quakers - Knightsone even in the Knights of the
Golden Circle and rode with Jesse James (Stiles was the name)..

So as they say, if they do not like me Irish face they can kiss my
Irish Ass...
as for BB and June - by their fruits, ye shall know them all.

By the way - my FBI file is in the National Archives and part of it was
reprinted and sent to me on list.100 years from now somebody will go
into the Kennedy Treasures as they did the Lincoln Treasures, and guess
what - they will find me, along with the Judas, the Brutus, and the

"Blow": Bad karma—Why the CIA dopers beat the independents

By Uri Dowbenko

April 14, 2001—Despite his ambition and entrepreneurial skills, George Jung,
the working class hero/ drug dealer of Blow, never had a chance.
After all, even mobster John Gotti, Jr.—when asked in court whether the
Family still sold drugs—answered, "No, we can't compete with the government."
Based on a true story with fictionalized names and Hollywood-style story
changes, Blow follows the life of George Jung (Johnny Depp), who stumbled
into the dope business in the late 1960s.
After leaving Massachusetts, his mom obsessed with materialism (Rachel
Griffiths) and his hard-working father (Ray Liotta), George ends up in
Manhattan Beach, California, a Los Angeles town that was then well known for
its non-stop party scene.
As George comments in the voice-over, "Everyone was getting stoned," plus his
new friends on the beach "all seemed to share the same occupation–stewardess."
So George and his friend Tuna (Ethan Suplee) meet their first connection,
marijuana dealer and hairdresser Derek, (Paul Reubens), a real-life character
who actually laundered his profits by fronting beauty salons in LA's South
Bay.
Before NAFTA and "Free Trade" were even invented, George's first scheme was
to import marijuana from Mexico and distribute it to Boston area college
students. He used the airline stewardesses as mules, since their luggage
cleared the airport without being checked.
One of the stewardesses, Barbara (Franka Potente) became the love of his
life—until she died of cancer. George's stoned version of the American Dream
was shattered forever, but his drive to become financially independent only
deepened his resolve.
George's dysfunctional childhood added to the karmic stew, as he remembered
how his father "slowly but surely lost everything. He went bankrupt."
Memories of his father's business failure fueled his ambition. "Sometimes
you're flush and sometimes you're bust," his father told him. "It doesn't
really matter. It only seems like it does." But George decided then and
there, "I don't ever want to be poor."
When he did get busted, sent to Danbury Federal Penitentiary, George's
cellmate turned out to be an associate of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
In Colombia, George meets Escobar, a ruthless drug trafficker, who executes
an underling right in front of him, then proceeds to calmly tell him that
"the business today is cocaine" and that he "wants to find an American he can
trust." They do the numbers–at $10,000 per kilo, 300 kilos is $3 million.
As George describes it "cocaine exploded in American culture like an atomic
bomb."
Cultural trendsetters, movie people, and rock stars glamorized cocaine. The
media popularized the new drug of choice, and cocaine production,
distribution, and the laundering of drug profits had suddenly become really
Big Business.
Miffed at US banks, which wanted to launder his drug profits for an
exorbitant 60% surcharge, George took his money to Panama where Tony Noriega
had a more favorable arrangement.
George them meets and marries a volatile Colombian cokehead named Mirtha
(Penelope Cruz). He tells the world that "we were young rich and in love. It
was perfect." But it wasn't. The marriage exploded. He was betrayed, then
double-crossed. And in the end, George Jung was sentenced to 60 years in
prison. He's due to be released in 2015.
George Jung, the independent drug trafficker, was in clearly over his head.
He had absolutely no conception of How the Real World Works. He had no idea
that, as a former US intelligence officer has said, "the CIA is the world's
most efficient cocaine distributor," and therefore, as an independent, he
would eventually be characterized as competition to government sanctioned
narcotics traffickers.
The untold story of Blow is the centralization of the cocaine trade as a
vertically integrated global business. In fact, when drugs became Big
Business, the "small businessman" like George Jung became nothing but
expendable. That's why the DEA is around–to quash the competition.
Jung was no match for the highly-organized, well-bankrolled,
government-connected drug traffickers, who launder their profits on Wall
Street and work through Fortune 500 corporations. The efficiency of scale
would have been inconceivable to a small-time operator like George Jung, who
had unknowingly run head first into the Olympian drug cartel. The Olympians
do not take lightly to encroachment on their turf. That's Planet Earth, by
the way.
Today, it is fair to say that the entire global economy is a money laundry,
based on surreptitious illicit revenues, derived for the most part from drugs
and the

Aries II Down: Another Technology Transfer to China

In the continuing effort to make China the bogeyman of the 21st
century, Washington has scored yet another coup - the loss of the EP-3E Aries
II surveillance aircraft.

It's very reminiscent of the phony FBI Hanssen Spy Case. In other
words, what the US Government is saying just doesn't jibe with the facts.

The implausible government story states that the Aries II aircraft was
supposedly escorted by ancient Chinese F8 fighter planes to a Chinese
military base at Hainan Island.

The Aries II has an electronic counter-measure capability that could
completely fry the electronic components of a state-of-the-art MIG 29, let
alone a vintage Chinese F-8. Its defensive capability consists of highly
advanced directional microwave weaponry.

Also this US Navy aircraft uses technology that is proprietary to the
National Security Agency. Most of the technology on the aircraft is
electronic intercept in nature.

According to Department of Defense statements, all protocols were
broken. This indicates that the incident has been staged to create a
deliberate transfer of this technology. This technology is so advanced that
even the NSA was queasy about giving it to the Chinese.

Since this technology is not proprietary to the Department of Defense
and since the NSA directly controls the contractors who produce this
equipment, there wasn't any way for those who are in favor of transferring
this technology to China, as a matter of illegal covert State policy, to
effect this transfer without staging an international incident. Therefore an
incident had to be created to give the Chinese this technology.

Whoever was in charge of the aircraft command must have been in on it.
Otherwise they would not have had the authority to circumvent the protocols,
unless directly ordered to do so. The aircraft then would either be in pieces
and the crew would be floating in life rafts. Or they would all be dead.

By the way, the military designation of the EP-3E Aries II aircraft is
high enough that all crew members carry cyanide capsules. They must not fall
into enemy hands for interrogation. And that is precisely where they are at
this moment.

The Department of Defense claims they know nothing -- another bogus
claim, since throughout the inside of the aircraft, there is a discreet video
system which continues to broadcast.

The Defense Department is also trying to imply that the Chinese are
jamming the signals, but what they're not saying is that the Chinese don't
have the technological capability to jam these signals. These are highly
advanced microburst transmissions that can even be bounced off of China's own
satellites. The Chinese would not even be aware of it. Russian and Chinese
equipment cannot even detect such complex microburst transmissions.

The protocol on this aircraft is very simple. If there was any chance
that the aircraft could fall into hostile hands, the crew is deemed to be
completely expendable. The protocol can only be overridden by the President
of the United States.

The only logical conclusion about this incident is that it is simply an
ongoing transfer of sophisticated technology to the Chinese military.

First, the government had admitted that there were 24 personnel on the
aircraft the "majority of which were US Navy personnel." The aircraft's has
19 operating stations, Who are the non-Navy personnel, which the government
refuses to identify?

Second, why did the crew not execute its emergency protocol and destroy
the aircraft?

The media is reporting that the crew is supposed to destroy the
technology by any means necessary. What they're not saying is that the
aircraft has a self-destruct mechanism already built in. It could have been
completely destroyed.

If it appears that the aircraft is about to fall into "hostile" hands,
the normal protocol is that the self-destruct mechanism is supposed to be
activated. If the aircraft is over international waters, they are supposed to
actually ditch the plane and land on the water. The aircraft is built, so it
can make an emergency water landing.

Since the Aries II is a naval aircraft, it is built to stay afloat long
enough for the crew to get out and the life rafts to automatically inflate.
The aircraft also carries emergency survival equipment with an EBIRB, an
emergency locating system.

The protocol then would have been to either destroy the plane or land
on the water, in which case, had the emergency self-destruct mechanism been
rendered inoperable for any

Crisis Inflames Bias Against Asians
Ethnic stereotypes in broadcast, print media prompt protests
Marsha Ginsberg, Chronicle Staff Writer
Saturday, April 14, 2001
2001 San Francisco Chronicle
URL: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-
bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2001/04/14/MN225028.DTL
Political cartoons, radio high jinks and satiric skits that feature Chinese
characters with thick glasses, buck teeth and heavy Asian accents sound like a
throwback to an era when American society lacked sophistication and tolerance.
But these scenes played out across the country after China detained 24 Navy crew
members whose spy plane collided with a Chinese fighter jet. Some observers say the
backlash rivals the anti-Asian sentiments of World War II and before.
"In times of conflict, it is a norm that any country will ridicule the other. It
happens all over the world," said Federico Subervi, an associate professor in the
communications department at the University of Texas at Austin. "But it's more about
politics. It's the policy, not the people. This is ridiculing the people."
Especially disconcerting, experts said, is the fact the stereotypes have emerged in
the news media -- whose organizations of late stress diversity within their ranks.
Among the recent incidents was a skit during a meeting of top newspaper editors.
BAY AREA BROADCAST
Even the Bay Area, where Asian Americans are about 20 percent of the population and
where people pride themselves on tolerance, has not been immune.
Radio talk show host Don Bleu spoofed the spy-plane standoff April 6 in what he
called a "fry over."
He then called a restaurant in China and teased the person who answered, who
apparently could not speak English, as music from the Oscar-winning Chinese film
"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" played in the background, according to listeners.
Listener Christine Rivera said she called Bleu's station, Star 101.3 FM, to complain
that she was "repulsed and offended by these ignorant remarks." The station offered
a "generic apology," she said.
The stunt prompted Philip Ting, president of the Organization of Chinese Americans
in San Francisco, to call for a public apology.
"Xenophobic climates lead to persecution, hate crimes and murder," he wrote in a
letter to the station. "Your insensitivity to throwing more fuel on this fire is all
too glaring."
Neither Bleu nor station managers could be reached for comment yesterday.
DISTURBING INCIDENTS
Ting said that elsewhere in America, radio commentators have called for Chinese
American internment. A station in Springfield, Ill., suggested boycotting Chinese
restaurants. Another commentator called people with Chinese last names and harassed
them.
Outspoken Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Pat Oliphant, who once said political
correctness "drives me crazy," enraged Asian Americans with a cartoon that appeared
this week in many Bay Area newspapers.
The cartoon, which The Chronicle declined to run, portrays a buck-toothed Chinese
waiter delivering cat gizzard noodles to a customer who concedes he had been "slowly
getting used to doing business with China."
The waiter trips, dumping noodles on the head of the customer, who says the waiter
must have been waiting for an apology. The waiter jumps up and down while saying,
"Apologize Lotten Amellican!" The customer, who gets up in a huff and leaves, is
Uncle Sam.
OLIPHANT ACCUSED
The 1,700 member Asian American Journalists Association said Oliphant's work
"crossed the line from acerbic depiction to racial caricature" and yesterday
demanded that he stop using racial stereotypes in his work.
Editorial cartoonists are given some leeway in material, association President
Victor Panichkul said, but "this in no way excuses base ethnic insult. Gross racial
parodies cannot be explained away as merely 'tart' opinion."
Oliphant, a nationally syndicated cartoonist, could not be reached to comment.
EDITORS LAUGH AT SKIT
Another glaring example of racial stereotyping was a skit during the opening of last
week's American Society of Newspaper Editors convention.
The skit, by the renowned Washington, D.C., satirical troupe Capitol Steps, featured
a white man dressed in a black wig and thick glasses impersonating a Chinese
official who gestured wildly as he said, "ching, ching, chong, chong."
The room full of top editors, predominantly Caucasian, laughed heartily. But Amy
Leang, a Chinese American student photographer assigned to the cover the skit, saw
no humor in it.
Leang said she was so upset by the incident that she awoke the next morning crying.
She was encouraged by members of ASNE to write a story about the experience,
portions of which were cited in news stories nationwide.
Experts said the skit was well out of bounds.
"Here we have the leading opinion makers -- the ones who dictate what goes into the
papers -- laughing like a bunch of 5-year-olds," said Helen Zia, an East Bay author

You check the archives and you will see this is true.

In fact in the past when I had people write to ask I return to your

someone on your list.

The time element was a good clue and I figured that one out..

Time Zone - Zulu time matched only one other time zone.

Strange some say they have received all these viruses - this one was
only one I received other than this Snow White thing which comes on
other list.

I have reported this individual who sent it to me to two different
people who are checking out.

Think you will find some of these others are using different names on
your list, not I. I use one name and one name only, and again, was
NEVER removed from your list. Check the archives beginning with 1998
in December.this is when I got the web.

So who told you I was kicked off the list for I believe if someone told

location.

   Tacoma

declan,

i read your and others' accounts of jim bell's trial with a nauseating
feeling of deja vu. as you know, about six years ago i was arrested on a
state misdemeanor charge of possessing a device that could be used for the
theft of telecommunications services. after my arrest, i was questioned by
a special agent of the the u.s. secret service, who told me he didn't feel
my case warranted federal attention. the next day however, when local
police and USSS agents searched my home and found information in my files
that made them nervous, the feds asked the local police to drop their
charge so the feds could take it over.

what made the feds so nervous as to cause them to repeatedly describe me as
"dangerous" to local and federal judges? information. my personal files
contained printouts of the names, phone numbers and addresses of secret
service agents, all of which i compiled from public sources. also in my
files were list of USSS radio frequencies and code names (again, all
compiled from public sources.) what apparently upset them the most,
however, was surveillance photos of some of their undercover agents
(picking their noses) that i caused to be aired on an evening news
broadcast of the local philadelphia FOX-TV affiliate in a 1994 story about
hackers.

as i was being driven to my federal arraignment, one of the USSS agents
whose photo was taken told me they "took a lot of heat" because of the
airing of those photos. months later, while i was being held without bail
in a maximum-security federal prison, my federal prosecutor told my
attorney (who was previously her superior at the u.s. attorneys office)
that she was under "extraordinary pressure" from the u.s. secret service to
get a conviction in my case--even thought there was not even an allegation
of fraud or victims.

to make a long story short, i spent 14 months in 5 different
maximum-security prisons for a victimless, drug-free crime at the urging of
the u.s. secret service, which repeated told judges they considered me
"dangerous." the federal presentence investigation report stated that USSS
agents interviewed some 20 people across the country about me, and under
cross-examination the lead USSS agent in my case conceded that none of them
said i was capable of violence. there were no firearms or explosives found
in my home (although a handful of books on the subject were
confiscated.) that same federal report also concluded that "there were no
victims in the offense."

apparently the u.s. secret service isn't the only federal law-enforcement
agent that considers anyone who keeps tabs on them "dangerous." you can
bet jim bell won't be a free man for several years if federal agents have
any say in the matter.

Every city, county, state, and the federal government keeps a virtually
hidden, SECOND SET OF BOOKS which track the multi-TRILLION dollars in
tangible wealth they have built up in these virtually hidden portfolios
initially coming from investing YOUR skimmed tax money for over 50 years in
everything from real estate to the stock market.
WHEN LOOKING AT THE "BIG PICTURE," ONLY 1/3 OF GOVERNMENT'S ANNUAL REVENUE
COMES FROM TAXES, 2/3 COMES FROM RETURN ON INVESTMENTS AND ENTERPRISE /
VENTURE PROJECTS. TO OFFSET TAXATION, NOT $1 OF THAT NONTAX REVENUE IS TIED
DIRECTLY INTO THE ANNUAL "BUDGET" THAT IS SUPPORTED BY TAXATION!
Your city, county, state, and federal governments have LIED TO YOU for
decades. There is NO NEED FOR TAXES. Our governments are not broke, they
are rich beyond measure with OUR money, and they are hiding it from the
American taxpayer while pleading they are broke and need more taxes, bonds
and levees to survive. This being done as they blindly justify their obscene
growth. BS! There is enough aggregate wealth owned by our government
agencies to abolish ALL property and income taxes TODAY. You are being
conned, lied to, ripped off, and financially raped.

Estimate of the standing liquid, fixed, and equity investments, both Federal

your income?
A little over 8 years.
[14% is a conservative figure being that most state pension retirement funds
have accomplished in most cases an average annual rate of return of 16 to 18%

State governments retirement funds did a 22 and 23% return last year]
Composite government Pension Funds generated a return last year of about 4.3

PS: Government Employees realized only a fraction of that return in most
cases being that their pension funds were strictly "Participatory."
The individuals investing or controlling the surpluses had a field

I wonder what Senator, Congressman, Judge, City Attorney, County
Board of Supervisor, School Commissioner, or Governor had their
"Personal" retirement ventures funded by investments from those

And yes, State Retirement Funds complete a CAFR also. You may want to
get a copy and see where and with whom those investments rest.
Can anyone see, that with consolidating surpluses (hundreds of billions),
sale of venture and enterprise projects (trillions) back into the private

downsizing where appropriate, that with using this "Basic" 101 application of

Here is comes - now the water we drink is to become very expensive?

Weather program is taking its toll - if lights go out in California, no

For Texas Now, Water and Not Oil Is Liquid Gold
By JIM YARDLEY

David Bowser for The New York Times T. Boone Pickens, above, is
proposing to pump water from underneath his Mesa Vista Ranch in Miami,
Tex., to the highest bidder.

In New Mexico, Debate Over Arsenic Strikes Home (April 14, 2001)
Florida, Low on Drinking Water, Asks E.P.A. to Waive Safety Rule (April
13, 2001)

Private Sector May Sell Water to Southern California Agency (Dec. 26,
2000)
Plan to Restore River Causes California Furor (Dec. 20, 2000)

Join a Discussion on The Environment
David Bowser for The New York Times State Senator J. E. Brown favors
encouraging private companies to sell water.

MIAMI, Tex. — The dirt road winds through the gray hills of T. Boone
Pickens's sprawling Mesa Vista Ranch when an unlikely swath of green
grass appears like an emerald in a sandbox. It is a lushly irrigated
two-hole golf course, a playpen for a wealthy man, and a reminder that
beneath this bleak, isolated terrain lies one of the prime untapped
reserves of water in Texas.

And Mr. Pickens, the former oilman and corporate raider whose takeover
bids once struck terror in boardrooms, has more in mind for the Mesa
Vista than golf.
At a time when nearly every major city in Texas is desperate for more
water to meet runaway population growth, Mr. Pickens is proposing to
pump tens of billions of gallons — to the highest bidder.

"Water is the lifeblood of West Texas," said Mr. Pickens, 72, who is
courting Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio and El Paso as potential
customers and estimates that a deal could reap $1 billion. "They've got
to get it somewhere."

For decades the gold beneath the ground in Texas was oil. But if oil
built modern Texas, water is now needed to sustain it.
Water has become so valuable that a complicated scramble is under way
for the rights to underground aquifers, reminiscent of the days when
"land men," among them a young George W. Bush, solicited rural
landowners to drill for oil.

There are even "water ranches" popping up around the state.

The unanswered question is whether all this activity will skew who gets
water and who does not in the future, or influence how much it will
cost. In many parts of the country, water is considered a
life-sustaining public resource. So there are already public policy
concerns about whether pumping water for profit could threaten supply in
some areas. Rural officials fear that large cities could simply outbid
them in a profit-driven market.

And
Texas law offers few restrictions; groundwater is considered private
property, and any landowner can pump the water out even if it leaves
neighbors high and dry.

"You're going to devastate a large part of the state of Texas," said Tom
Beard, a rancher who said he feared that arid West Texas could be pumped
dry by water ranches owned by distant cities. "I'm not sure we can
afford to treat water like cotton or cattle. And certainly not like oil.
The approach to oil was to pump it up, use it up and do something else.
We can't do that with water."

Throughout the country, drought and population growth have placed a
premium on water. Such demand is amplified in Texas after four droughts
in five years.

The state's population is 20.8 million, second only to California's, and
demographers predict that it will double in 50 years. Already, El Paso
must find new sources of water or it could run out in 20 years.

The Rio Grande, a primary water source for counties along the Mexican
border, is so dry that this month it failed for the first time in 50
years to reach the Gulf of Mexico, stopping 50 feet short.

Until now, Texas has largely avoided the contentious political fights
over water familiar to Western states like Arizona.

But the Texas Legislature is considering a sweeping piece of legislation
known as Senate Bill 2 that could determine how water is regulated and
what is done to meet demand in the state for the next half-century.
Regional water planning groups have proposed $17 billion in public works
projects, conservation efforts and irrigation improvements. Lawmakers
say it could cost at least $80 billion to upgrade the state's aging
municipal water systems.

The political debate is complicated.

Environmentalists want more conservation and tougher regulation, as
opposed to new dams and aggressive pumping of groundwater. There are the
competing demands of agriculture and urban areas.

There are also differing needs and climates in the state's various
regions, some of which depend on reservoirs and other surface sources
while others depend on

TEN TIPS ON HOW
 TO LIVE IN THE
   “NEW WORLD ORDER”

1. WATCH LOTS OF TELEVISION. Television pleasantly induces mental
stupor, telling you all you need to know. If it wasn’t on the nightly
news, then it definitely isn’t true.

2 AVOID TALKING ABOUT RELIGION OR POLITICS. No matter how innocuous your
speech may be, it could be misinterpreted and recorded in your
Government Personal Thought Dossier.

3. DEBATE TOPICS PROMOTED BY NWO-SPONSORED MEDIA. Example: Discuss the
pros and cons of government under Labor or Liberal (or
Democrat/Republican or Tory/Labor) while ignoring real issues like the
economy and sovereignty already sold out to foreign interests by
self-serving politicians doing the bidding of powerful transnational
corporations.

4. PARTICIPATE IN NWO-SPONSORED ‘FEEL GOOD’ PROGRAMS. There’s disasters
all over the world and you seem hopeless to do anything about it: Why
not partake in NWO-sanctioned programs like Walk for Want or 40 Hour
Famine and even buy an Amnesty International Sticker for your car, while
the agents of the NWO wreak havoc in parts of the world you’ve hardly
ever heard of.

5. WORK, EAT, ENTERTAIN, AND SEEK MEDICAL HELP AT NWO-SPONSORED OUTLETS.
Always buy NWO-manufactured grocery items preferably from large
supermarkets. Growing your own veges or purchasing organically grown
produce affects the profit margins of NWO corporations. Safely entertain
yourself by religiously viewing sports events, mindless TV shows/movies,
as well as trivia and illusion-filled books and magazines. Listen to any
type of mind-numbing music spewed forth by the corporations of the NWO.
If you get sick, refrain from ‘alternative’ cures or therapy, and always
seek medical help at NWO-sponsored hospitals or clinics and take
whatever medicines and drugs you are given.

6. READ, HEAR AND WATCH NWO-MANDATED MEDIA. Exploring ‘alternative’
media might result in dangerous thought crimes against the NWO
authorities. Disregard any ideas or reports not originating with NWO
media as ‘conspiracy theory.’

7. MEMORISE THE OPINIONS OF NWO LEADERS AND TELEVISION NEWS REPORTERS.
Reiterate them as if they were your own during all social and business
conversations.

8. HYPOCRISY IS THE SAFEST POLICY. And affiliations with State-approved
religious organisations are permitted, and may be rich fields for
business contacts.

9. WATCH OTHERS AND MAKE SURE THEY DO THE SAME AS YOU. Keep an eye on
neighbours, friends and family to ascertain they are obeying the law.
Always call the NWO authorities if you suspect any wrongdoing.
Participate in dob-in programs. If ever confronted by someone who
questions NWO policies, it’s best to convince them ignorance is bliss.
If the case is serious, immediately seek help from NWO psychiatrists.

10. WILLINGLY AND HAPPILY participate in all NWO school indoctrination
programs. Realise the honour associated with being a breeder and
caretaker of the next generation to SERVE THE MASTERS in the NEW WORLD
ORDER.

[CTRL] Fwd: Who is George W. Bush?

2001-04-16 Thread Kris Millegan

http://www.newdawnmagazine.com.au/Articles/Elite_Controllers__Hidden_Agendas.html

 Who is George W. Bush?

 BY SUSAN BRYCE

He grew up as a very rich child with powerful parents. He
partied from high school until he was 40 then went cold turkey
on drugs and alcohol. His business career was marked by
mediocrity or failure that nonetheless resulted making him
millions of dollars thanks to the political allies of his
father, who happened to be the US President. He was elected
46th governor of Texas mostly because of his family name and
his dad’s cronies. He found God and became a Christian. Now,
George W. Bush is the 43rd president of the United States.

The Bush administration is a combination of Cold War warriors,
big business bureaucrats and ideologues, harvested from the
Ford, Nixon and Reagan governments. As veterans of past
Republican administrations their thinking reflects a bygone
era, particularly with respect to social policy, the
environment and nuclear defence. Many of Bush’s appointees are
pals from his days as Governor of Texas, or are members of
influential insider think tanks such as the Council on Foreign
Relations and the Centre for Strategic and International
Studies. This article provides a brief analysis of the key
players in the ‘Bush team’, their backgrounds, their policies
and their likely agendas over the next four years.

  President George Walker Bush

Bush’s name is a familiar one in the ranks of America’s top
leadership: George W. Bush is the oldest son of George Herbert
Walker Bush, the 41st president. The only other set of
father-son presidents came early in US history when John
Quincy Adams, son of the second president, John Adams, became
the sixth president in 1825. Bush Jr. attended Eastern elitist
schools, in this case Andover Prep, and Yale. According to a
Newsweek profile, he “went to Yale but seems to have majored
in drinking at the Deke House.” He became a member of the
secretive Skull Bones society in 1968.

George W. Bush joins a recent parade of state governors
(Carter, Reagan, and Clinton) who have moved up to the highest
office in the country. Bush was elected Governor of Texas in
1994. He and his brother Jeb Bush (elected in Florida in 1998)
were the first brothers to be simultaneous governors since the
Rockefellers. Before becoming Governor of Texas, George Bush
was involved in the Texan oil scene, where he founded an oil
company, Arbusto Energy, Inc. (Arbusto is the Spanish word for
bush.) The company floundered in the early 1980s when oil
prices dropped. Fifty investors, who were mainly family
friends, sunk millions to help bail the company out. Nearing
collapse, Arbusto was purchased by Spectrum 7 Energy
Corporation in September 1984. Despite a poor track record,
the owners made Bush Jr. the president and gave him 13.6% of
 the parent company’s stock.

The Spectrum 7 oil firm company was owned by two staunch
Reagan/Bush (dad was then vice president) supporters, who were
also involved with the Texas Rangers. After working on his
father’s successful 1988 presidential campaign, Bush assembled
a group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball
franchise in 1989. He sold his stake for $14.9 million – while
Texas governor. Not bad, considering his initial investment
was $600,000 of borrowed money. Speaking after the sale, Bush
told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: “When it is all said and
done, I will have made more money than I ever dreamed I would
 make.”

In 1986, the Harken Energy Corporation bought Spectrum 7’s
180-well operation. In 1990, Harken Energy was granted a
contract to drill for oil off the coast of the Gulf state of
Bahrain, shunting aside the oil giant Amoco, even though the
company had no experience in offshore operations. Suggestions
that the Bahrain government was attempting to curry favour
with the US president, George Bush Snr, were denied.

A Harken Energy director was invited to participate in private

In June, Bush Jr. conveniently sold 212,000 of his Harken

intelligence agencies, in full propaganda mode, reported that
Iraqi troops had invaded Kuwait and the value of Harken’s
 shares dropped 25%.

During the 2000 presidential election campaign, various
allegations about Bush’s past misdemeanours surfaced. They
include: an alleged conviction for drunk driving; an
allegation that Bush halted investigation of a campaign

The Rabbi asked, "What's wrong?"

The Rabbi, very surprised by this, asks, "How can that be?"

The man then pleads, "I'm telling you, I'm certain she's poisoning me,
what should I do?"
The Rabbi then offers, "Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I'll see what I

A week later the Rabbi calls the man and says, "Well, I spoke to your

The man anxiously says, "Yes."

"Take the poison," says the Rabbi.

[CTRL] Fw: [DU-WATCH]

2001-04-16 Thread Mrs. Jela Jovanovic

-Caveat Lector-

  The Sunday Herald (Scotland)
  15 April 2001

Global spread of DU reaches food chain
By Torcuil Crichton and Felicity Arbuthnot
  Publication Date: Apr 15 2001
Depleted uranium from shells fired by British and
American forces during the Balkan wars has found its
way into the food chain and has been detected among
the civilian populations of Kosovo and Bosnia.
A study of the local population in three locations in
the two Balkan regions has found samples of the highly
radio active particles in the urine of all those
  tested.
The investigation comes amid growing concern about the
possible effects of depleted uranium in the Balkans
both on foreign troops and on the local population.
A survey for the Sunday Herald has found that
depleted-uranium weaponry has been used or tested in
41 countries worldwide. They range from Britain -
where DU shells are test-fired on the Solway Firth -
to Japan, where unauthorised firing by the United
States military led to a massive clean-up operation.
Eleven of the countries affected by DU are in the
  Balkans.
Nato warplanes dropped 10,000 rounds of DU ammunition
in Bosnia in 1994 and 1995. Soldiers from several
  troop-contributing countries - including Italy,
Portugal and France - have fallen ill with what is
being called Balkan syndrome but this is the first
time that the civilian population has been tested for
  contamination.
Spain has reported at least eight cases of cancer
among personnel deployed in Bosnia and Kosovo.
Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Poland are
among other countries to have acknowledged a problem.
There was an outcry in Portugal when Hugo Paulino, a
young corporal, died of cancer three weeks after
  returning from duty in Kosovo.
The health of returning Italian personnel was of such
concern that five different regions have appointed
  senior judiciary to open inquiries.
The civilian study was carried out by Professor Nick
Priest of Middlesex University, for E rpa, BBC
Scotland's European-affairs programme. It looked at
people in one location in Bosnia and two locations in
  Kosovo.
"So far, all the results for every single one of the
samples collected in Kosovo is showing some depleted
uranium in the urine," he said. "That is completely
abnormal because normally you would expect no DU to be
  in the urine samples."
Priest's conclusion was that it was likely that the
metal was present in the food chain. The study did not
  investigate possible health problems.
Previous studies have found no evidence of a link,
although a recent United Nations report acknowledged
  that there remain "considerable scientific
  uncertainties".
Despite that concern, a proposed voluntary testing
programme for Kosovan civilians has been shelved
following the intervention of the World Health
  Organisation.
Campaigners against the use of DU, which will remain
radioactive for four-and-a-half billion years, argue
the tiny particles of DU dust emitted from shell
explosions will still be mutating genetics of fauna,
flora and humanity "when the sun goes out". Teenager
Vlora Marleku told the programme makers: "I am
worried. I don't know what to say. This is something
  that touches you very deeply."
Civilian populations and refugees returning to the
Balkans are also experiencing severe health problems,
  according to local reports.
Journalist Svetlana Stankovic Lala of Greece's Athens
News said: "In Kosovska Mitrovica, [in the] north of
Kosovo, the number of malignant diseases increased
200% in 2000 compared to 1998, the year before the
  bombing."
Doctors in the area estimate that birth deformities
have increased by 250% over 1998 figures.
Dr Aleksandra Veljovic, of the Cancer Foundation in
Yugoslavia, talked of "a doubling of incidence of
cancer" by June 2000 - exactly a year after the war's
  end.
In January 2000, she said, "almost 2000 people died
from a flu pandemic, corpses [remained unburied] for
10 or more days and in numbers from pneumonia".
Like Iraq, medication and facilities were unavailable
due to sanctions. Like Iraq, an epidemic occurred
shortly after the bombing. In Iraq, at least 5000
people died of measles within months of the end of the
Gulf war. Radiation damages the immune system - a link
that the Gulf veterans have made with their proven
  immune deficiencies.
No studies have been made in bordering countries,
although there are concerns that radiation travels via
  the wind, water and fauna.
An A-10 Thunderbolt, which carries DU weapons, crashed
in Albania. A missile thought to be carrying DU landed
in Bulgaria. Another landed in Macedonia, which has
hosted nearly one million refugees and has already
removed 10 tonnes of DU-contaminated topsoil from its
  border region.
Britain's Ministry of Defence insisted that the levels

Tax-reform drive building up steam
Nonprofit group champions legislation to mothball IRS

 2001 WorldNetDaily.com

As Americans' irritation with the income tax reaches a fevered pitch, a group
of citizen activists work to spread "good news": There is another way for the
government to collect revenue without prying into individuals' personal
finances and without the filing of confusing, sometimes lengthy forms.

It's called the "Fair Tax," and its most ardent supporter is a group called
Americans for Fair Taxation. The concept is simple: Charge consumers a tax on
non-essential purchases at a rate relative to the current income tax, while
removing the current wage-based tax system altogether. But there's a
complicated side, as well -- informing a public living in an income-tax
culture that the Fair Tax exists and that it is a viable option.

While the concept is in legislative form in Congress, the Fair Tax movement
is about more than passing a particular piece of legislation. It is a
movement spurred on by people who believe an income tax is inherently unfair
and un-American. They are people who don't just want tax relief -- they want
tax reform. And they're not politicians.

Danny Clark is a truck driver from Georgia who spends most of his time on the
road. But that doesn't stop him from spreading the word about the Fair Tax.
Clark has been known to spark so much interest in the issue over his radio
communications with other truckers, that it is not uncommon for inquirers to
meet him at truck stops for the printed information Clark carries with him.
Indeed, if there is Fair Tax literature at a truck stop, it was likely Clark
who put it there.

But Georgians don't just get their Fair Tax information at truck stops.
Americans for Fair Taxation State Director David Klepinger is a self-employed
entrepreneur who uses his adaptable schedule to plug tax reform in between
his business obligations. Using his own money, Klepinger flies to national
conventions to place Fair Tax literature into the hands of attendees.

Another self-employed Fair Tax advocate is Robin Cyr, AFT district director
in Maine. Cyr makes his living repairing appliances. So committed is Cyr to
tax reform that he has spent $200 of his own money to buy radio air time for
Fair Tax promotional information, and gave another $1,500 to help AFT pay for
a national magazine ad. But he spends more than money; he also spends his
time -- logging countless hours in various online chat rooms in the evenings,
informing participants about the Fair Tax.

Tax reformers aren't just businessmen. AFT's Wisconsin District Director Al
Ose has made it his mission to connect headlines from current events to the
issue of tax reform, which affects practically every aspect of life,
activists say. He has written dozens of letters on the subject, and last
year, he participated in a neighborhood parade with his daughter, where he
passed out literature on the Fair Tax. Holding regular meetings to help
educate his community about tax reform, Ose's enthusiasm is representative of
the passion that drives tax reformers.

And the movement is catching on. In the last year, AFT's online-community
membership has increased seven-fold, and its membership via mail has grown by
over 150,000. The group has nearly doubled its financial contributors and has
identified, trained and assisted over 100 new district and state directors as
volunteers, according to Carrie Ardelian, AFT's vice president of field
operations.

And the manpower is showing results. Over the last 12 months, AFT has
generated over 30,000 phone calls and tens of thousands of e-mails to
congressional offices in support of the Fair Tax and delivered thousands of
postcards to the White House, urging the president's support of fundamental
tax reform. Leaders of the movement have appeared on affiliate TV stations
from every major television network, have been featured on over 2,000
talk-radio stations across the country and have appeared or been featured in
over 25 print publications.

Now boasting a membership of over 400,000, AFT is a 501c(4) nonprofit,
non-partisan organization founded in May 1995. Headquartered in Houston,
Texas, the organization also has an office in Washington, D.C., where it
conducts tax-reform lobbying and testifies before Congress.

While the movement is based on tax reform, namely the elimination of the
income tax, AFT has championed a specific bill in Congress appropriately
titled the Fair Tax Act.

Known as H.R. 2525 in the 106th Congress, the bill was reintroduced in the
107th Congress last week, though the new bill number is not yet reflected in
the Congressional Record. As with H.R. 2525, the bill is sponsored by Rep.
John Linder,

Here's the next level of nuclear weapons
Reuters
(Washington, April 15)

THE PENTAGON is studying whether to develop a nuclear bomb that would be
capable of knocking out hardened or deeply buried targets without huge
collateral damage, the Washington Post reported on Sunday.

Citing administration and congressional sources, the newspaper said officials
are looking at whether to build a low-yield nuclear weapon with an
earth-penetrating nose cone as a way to hit underground leadership bunkers
and command centers.

Rising concern that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein could hide chemical and
biological weapons in underground bunkers has heightened interest in such
weapons, the Post said. Key proponents include nuclear weapons scientists and
top members of the Bush administration, according to the Post.

A senior adviser to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was quoted as saying
that current US nuclear weapons would not deter the Iraqi leader "because he
knows a US president would not drop a 100-kiloton bomb on Baghdad."

The Post said the head of the Department of Energy's Sandia Nuclear
Laboratories has written that "low-yield weapons with highly accurate
delivery systems" could help US officials "contemplate the destruction of
some buried or hidden targets while being mindful of the need to minimize
collateral damage."

The Post said critics argue that such a weapon would not be able to penetrate
deep enough to keep radioactive debris from getting into the atmosphere.

The report on the Pentagon study was due to be sent to Congress in July, the
Post said.

Taiwan leader presses for weapons
By FAITH HUNG

TAIPEI, Taiwan, April 15 (UPI) -- In a meeting with a delegation of U.S.
Senators, Taiwan's President Chen Shui-bian asked the United States to
approve the sales of advanced defense weapons.

Chen told Republican Senators Phil Gramm of Texas, Bob Bennett of Utah,
Jim Bunning of Kentucky and Mike Crapo of Idaho that the weapons are
necessary to help the island preserve a military balance with China.

"The cross-strait security not only serves the interests of Taiwan, but
those of the United States," he told the delegation, which visited Taipei
after an original scheduled visit to mainland China was nixed due to the
stand-off between Beijing and Washington.

"China could achieve air and sea superiority over Taiwan by 2005," warned
Chen.

There are growing fears that Taiwan may not be able to get the weapons it
wants as the Bush Administration now takes a more cautious attitude after
the spy plane collision or Beijing uses the incident to pressure Washington,
observes said.

Several senators and representatives said Sunday that the recent incident
over the spy plane has boosted Taiwan's chances for getting sophisticated
weapons.

The most significant part of the arms deal is destroyers equipped with the
Aegis radar system, which tracks missiles, aircraft, ships and submarines
and programs weapons to hit them. Taiwan is also seeking to buy Apache
attack helicopters, an advanced Patriot anti-missile system known as PAC-3,
and submarines.

A decision by the Bush administration is slated for later this month about
whether to sell Taiwan the weapons.

China and Taiwan split in 1949. Since then, the Chinese leaders have
insisted Taiwan is part of the mainland that can't be separated.

[CTRL] U.S. Signals Tough Stance at China Meeting

U.S. Signals Tough Stance at China Meeting

By Steve Holland

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Monday signaled a tough stance
going into a meeting with China on their dispute over a downed spy plane,
insisting that U.S. surveillance flights will be resumed soon.

Officials from the two sides are scheduled to meet on Wednesday in Beijing to
discuss the flights. A mid-air collision between a Chinese fighter shadowing
a U.S. EP-3 spy plane triggered an 11-day standoff between the two countries.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer (news - web sites) said the U.S. side
will make clear it feels the Chinese pilot caused the April 1 accident by
flying too close to the U.S. plane.

Fleischer told reporters the U.S. team would ``ask tough questions'' to the
Chinese about the manner in which they ''dangerously intercepted'' the U.S.
surveillance plane.

He said: ``The agenda as far as the United States is concerned is to provide
a clear and graphic explanation of the U.S. view of the cause of the
accident, and discuss ways of avoiding similar accidents in the future.''
They will also ask for the return of the damaged EP-3 plane.

Fleischer insisted the flights will resume but the timing was unclear.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld will make a recommendation to President
Bush (news - web sites), who will then make the final decision.

``They could resume at any time, whenever the president makes the
determination,'' Fleischer told reporters. A defense official said the
flights are likely to resume shortly but that Rumsfeld had as yet made a
recommendation to Bush.

``It seems prudent to wait for the talks'' to decide how and when to proceed,
the official said.

The EP-3 planes typically fly about 50 miles off the Chinese coast in
international airspace. The Chinese government says the flights come too
close.

The State Department said the outcome of the meeting could well set the tone
for U.S.-Chinese relations.

``We have made quite clear that we think a productive meeting can set the
basis for a further relationship and on the other hand a polemical meeting
would give us some indication of how they might or might not intend to
proceed with the relationship,'' said State Department spokesman Richard
Boucher.

He said the meeting might last two days.

FIGHTER ESCORTS FOR SPY PLANES?

Under discussion within the administration has been whether to have U.S.
fighter jets escort the EP-3 flights to chase off intercepting Chinese jets,
a potentially provocative step.

One possible source of U.S. fighter jets for that purpose is the U.S.
aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk, which is based in Yokosuka, Japan, but U.S.
defense officials said there were no plans to involve the carrier.

They said it was sailing away from China on Monday to take part in exercises
near Guam and that there were no plans to move it where it could launch
fighter jets to protect reconnaissance flights off China's coast.

The officials, who asked not to be identified, were responding to a
Washington Post report quoting Navy officials as saying the Kitty Hawk was
sailing in the direction of the South China Sea off China.

A senior defense official, who asked not to be identified, told Reuters the
delegation would essentially discuss three issues with the Chinese: Who was
responsible for the accident; possible ways to prevent such incidents in the
future, and China's plan to formally demand that the flights be stopped.

Adding to U.S. concern before the talks have been dramatic accounts by
members of the 21 men and three women who were aboard the EP-3 plane,
including the pilot, Lt. Shane Osborne, who say the Chinese jet flew so close
it clipped a propeller.

The Chinese jet fell in pieces while the badly damaged American plane
survived a harrowing 8,000-foot (about 2,500 meters) drop and managed to land
without permission on China's Hainan Island.

The crew was held there for 11 days until the United States said it was
``very sorry'' for the loss of the Chinese pilot and for having to make an
unscheduled landing on Chinese territory.

``Once the aircraft started going out of control, I think pretty much
everybody on the aircraft thought they were going to die at some point,''
said crew member Lt. Patrick Honeck on Sunday on CBS' ``Face the Nation.''

The U.S. delegation to the talks will be headed by Acting Undersecretary of
Defense for Policy Pete Virga and will include both Pentagon (news - web
sites) and State Department officials.

Carrier May Move to S. China Sea
U.S. Could Use Fighter Jets to Protect Reconnaissance Flights

By Thomas E. Ricks
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, April 16, 2001; Page A04

A U.S. aircraft carrier may be moved to a position in the South China Sea
where it could launch fighter jets to protect U.S. reconnaissance flights off
China's coast when those flights resume, Navy officials said yesterday.

The flights may resume as early as Thursday in international airspace about
50 miles off the Chinese coast, officials indicated. Depending on the Chinese
reaction, the addition of U.S. warplanes to the mix could lead to new
confrontations or signal the resumption of routine military operations.

U.S. and Chinese officials are scheduled to meet Wednesday in Beijing to
discuss the flights, which the Chinese government says come too close but the
United States says are routine missions conducted in international airspace.

The meeting was scheduled as part of the diplomatic exchange that led to
Wednesday's release of the 24 crew members of a Navy EP-3E. That plane made a
heart-stopping emergency landing on China's Hainan Island after it was badly
damaged in a collision with a Chinese fighter aircraft April 1.

At the Beijing meeting, China is expected to ask that the flights be moved
farther off its coast or stopped altogether, a Defense Department official
said. The United States plans to respond that it intends to continue the
flights, he said.

China rejected again yesterday the U.S. contention that a Chinese fighter
pilot was responsible for the crash that killed him.

"They must assume their responsibility," said Wang Zhen, China's ambassador
to Venezuela, where Chinese President Jiang Zemin was making the last stop of
a Latin American tour. "They crashed into us, our pilot is dead and the
family of this poor pilot is crying every day. Who is responsible? The U.S."

The USS Kitty Hawk, which carries about 70 aircraft, recently passed
Singapore and yesterday passed through the southern Philippines, a Navy
official said last night. By the time the Beijing meeting occurs, the ship
could be ready to send up fighters to support the reconnaissance flights, but
only if it soon receives an order to reverse course, a Navy official said.

Adm. Dennis C. Blair, U.S. military commander for the Pacific, last week
suggested three possible courses of action to the Bush administration, an
official said: Send the Kitty Hawk on a slow, northward track through the
South China Sea; tell it to linger farther south of the Philippines; or keep
it on its planned course toward Guam. The ship currently is continuing toward
Guam, an official said last night.

"Blair recommended different options that could or could not send a message,
depending on how they wanted to play it," a Pentagon official said,
confirming the other official's account.

Blair did not recommend that the F-14s and F/A-18 fighters actually escort
the U.S. reconnaissance planes, a third official emphasized. That's because
the United States wants to underscore its view that the flights aren't acts
of underhanded espionage, but legal and overt movements though international
airspace, said a Navy official in Washington.

"Our view is that the flights are so benign that they don't need escorts," he
said.

Rather, he indicated that if the White House approves, the Navy fighters
would fly farther off the Chinese coast than the reconnaissance planes,
perhaps 100 miles away.

"The thinking isn't to intercept the interceptors," another official
emphasized.

The United States sends about 200 reconnaissance flights a year near China's
coasts, a Chinese military official said. The Chinese send up fighter
aircraft to intercept about one-third of those flights, Pentagon officials
report.

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said at a Pentagon news conference
Friday that "in recent months there have been 44 [People's Liberation Army]
interceptions of U.S. surveillance and reconnaissance flights off the coast
of China."

The Kitty Hawk, based in Yokosuka, Japan, is part of Carrier Battle Group
Five, which includes several other ships.

The battle group is commanded by Rear Adm. Robert F. Willard, a career
aviator who was the aerial coordinator for "Top Gun," the Tom Cruise movie
about Navy fighter pilots that culminates in an aerial confrontation at sea.

[CTRL] Last Warning: China Ready to Take Taiwan in 2002

2001-04-16 Thread Bill Richer

-Caveat Lector-

WJPBR Email News List [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Peace at any cost is a Prelude to War!

Last Warning: China Ready to Take Taiwan in 2002
Dr. Alexandr Nemets and Dr. Thomas Torda
Monday, April 16, 2001
China is fast developing its naval and war capabilities to engage in a major
war in Asia with the purpose of taking Taiwan by the fall of 2002. Two
respected analysts report that shipments of advanced Russian military
equipment will be delivered and in place by late next year. The experts
believe China's plans have already put it on a confrontation course with its
neighbors, and a collision course with the U.S.
What has happened during the last two weeks has surprised many experts, let
alone persons having limited knowledge about China. The first question: How
did it happen?

The incident involving the U.S. EP-3 did not happen in a vacuum, but was
instead one incident in a spate of aggressive moves by the Chinese military.

During 2000 and the first months of 2001, China was steadily increasing its
military presence in the airspace and waters between the mainland coast and
the First Island Chain, formed by Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.

The goal of this activity is to push out all other countries' forces –
significantly the U.S. Air Force and Navy – and to establish unlimited
Chinese control in this strategically and economically important zone.

This, by the way, would facilitate China's People's Liberation Army air force
(PLAAF) and navy (PLAN) actions in a forthcoming conflict around Taiwan.

The Japanese navy and Philippines navy, indeed, have physically felt the
drastic rise of PLAN pressure in the East China Sea and South China Sea,
respectively, over the last few months.

So, direct collision of Chinese and U.S. forces at some moment was
unavoidable.

A U.S. Navy vessel managed to escape a collision with a PLAN frigate on March
24, but another collision – between a Chinese fighter and a U.S.
reconnaissance plane – did occur.

The second, probably more important question: Why have the Chinese been
conducting such bold maneuvers against the U.S. and others?

Indeed, the Chinese side behaved in a surprisingly bold manner during the
months preceding the collision, during the collision itself, and in the
showdown with the U.S. administration after the incident.

There are two major reasons for China's increasing belligerence:

1) China has a mighty strategic rear, i.e., Russia, whose leaders firmly
support any PLA action aimed at expansion and confrontation with the U.S.

In July of this year, China and Russia intend to sign a Treaty on Friendship
and Cooperation, and will formalize their strategic military alliance. In
fact, this new military axis between Beijing and Moscow has been in de facto
existence since about mid-1999.

The new treaty prescribes, among other items, "joint resistance to the
aggression against either of the two sides."

This particularly means unconditional support of China by the Russian side –
with all resources available – in the case of a Sino-U.S. military conflict.

Such a position of the Russian side was confirmed in a telephone call between
Jiang Zemin and Putin in mid-January this year.

Talks between these two supreme leaders takes place on a regular basis after
their summit in July 2000.

The strongly negative attitude of the Kremlin to the U.S., especially toward
the present U.S. administration, gives Chinese leaders "unshakable
confidence" in Russian support.

2) PLA combat potential has increased very significantly during the last two
years, and Russian military-technological assistance was the decisive factor
here. Particularly:

a) It is common knowledge among analysts that China's PLAAF and PLAN aviation
received hundreds, not "several dozen," of Russia's modern fighters and
bombers.

By early April 2001, the PLA finished, or almost finished, staffing three
fighter divisions with SU-series fighters.

Each division includes up to 72 Chinese-made and Russian-made SU-27 SK, SU-27
UB, and/or SU-30 MKK fighters.

This was achieved due to the work in the "prewar period regime" of key
aircraft industry enterprises in China and Russia during the last 12-18
months. In addition, the PLA now has at least four divisions staffed with
drastically upgraded – based on Russian technology – J-8 II M fighters.

Though each fighter of this kind is still inferior to an F-16 fighter, two of
them are capable of downing one F-16.

Upgrading of several hundred J-7 fighters also adds to PLAAF potential.

All the fighters are equipped with Russian-made or Russian-technology-based
air-to-air missiles (AAMs) and air-to-ground missiles (AGMs).

b) By April 2001, the PLA deployed in the coastal zone from Beijing to Hong
Kong a theater missile defense (TMD) network, including the following Russian
air-defense missile (ADM) systems:

up to 30 systems (battalions) of S-300 ADMs (12 ADM launchers, capable

[CTRL] Bush's Mistake on Medical 'Privacy'

Peace at any cost is a Prelude to War!

Bush's Mistake on Medical 'Privacy'
Christopher Ruddy
Monday, April 16, 2001
With the brouhaha with China filling the airwaves and captivating our
national attention span, many probably missed the fact that President Bush
approved sweeping changes to medical privacy rules proposed by Bill Clinton.
Bush’s move, which came Thursday and barely blipped on media radar screens
Friday, will have important implications for all Americans and their
confidential medical records.

Bush’s decision came as a surprise.

On Monday of last week, Secretary of Health and Human Services Thompson told
a press conference that his office had been swamped by public comments and
that the HHS would need more time beyond the April 14 deadline to consider
more than 1,500 pages of new regulations Clinton proposed over the Christmas
holiday.

President Bush decided to override Thompson and ordered him to adopt the
Clinton rule changes and to implement them without delay.

Bush said "for the first time, patients will have full access to their
medical records and more control over how their personal information will be
used and disclosed."

"This rule will help address patients’ growing concerns regarding medical
privacy," the president said in a statement.

In several reports on NewsMax.com, we have been warning the opposite – that
the Clinton rule changes would do precisely the opposite of what Clinton and
now Bush have claimed.

We have reported, after reviewing the regulations, that the new regulations
would permit:

Government agencies and bureaucrats to have access to your medical files –
even if you paid for the services yourself.

Government to require all of your medical records to be stored electronically
for easy access

Without your consent, the government to release your medical records to
others, including insurance companies, drug manufacturers, marketing and
other "third parties" – all without your consent!

Government to assign all citizens a UPI number, a "unique patient
identifier," which will be used to track your medical history from birth to
death.
The effect of the regulations are clearcut, according to the Association of
American Physicians and Doctors (AAPS), one of the most respected medical
groups.

It was AAPS that successfully sued Hillary Clinton over her Health Care Plan.
Now AAPS has taken the lead to stop these regulations.

Guess who is supporting the new Clinton-Bush regulations?

The two most vocal supporters in the U.S. Senate for the regulations are also
the two most liberal and the two biggest supporters of Hillary's failed
Health Care Plan: Sens. Ted Kennedy and Patrick Leahy.

Press reports are claiming that the new rules are opposed by the health care
industry largely because of the costs involved in digitizing all medical
records.

Insurance companies and drug marketing companies are salivating that the new
rules will enable access to medical records.

And there is no question the new rules allow third-party marketing companies
to have access to your medical records.

As NewsMax previously reported, Bob Gellman, a medical privacy consultant and
former congressional staffer, states that under the new rules someone can
knock on your door and say, 'I've learned from your doctor you have
hemorrhoids; would you like to buy this treatment?' "

Gellman added: "You can only opt out after you have been marketed to. I've
been working on this issue for 20 years, and it's the worst anti-privacy
thing I've seen."

Last week we had more confirmation of this incredible invasion of personal
privacy.

The Washington Post reported that Secretary Thompson "said the administration
was somewhat less likely to review a provision, opposed by consumer
advocates, that allows patients' information to be shared for marketing
purposes."

Let me ask the new Bush administration, if the purpose of these rules is to
protect patient medical privacy, why do they allow marketing companies to
have access to them, as the Washington Post reports?

Obviously, claims that these rules "protect privacy" are as deceptive as
redefining the meanining of "is."

Slapping on a label of "privacy" doesn’t mean it really safeguards privacy.
We expected that from Clinton, but not from Bush.

The Clinton years were filled with doublespeak.

Today Wes Vernon reports that legislation passed by Congress late last year
and signed by Clinton supposedly claims to protect individuals' private
financial data, including their confidential Social Security numbers.

Now we learn the privacy safeguards were a sham and that banks can sell your
Social Security information to marketing companies. Sounds familiar.

The new Bush administration would do well to rethink its hasty decision to
adopt the Clinton "privacy" rules.

US refusal to sign Kyoto deal 'not on the agenda' for Prescott's visit
By Marie Woolf, Chief Political Correspondent
17 April 2001
John Prescott's role in restarting the stalled climate change talks was
called into question yesterday after the Government insisted that global
warming would not be on the agenda during his visit to the United States.

In an apparent contradiction to Mr Prescott's claim at the weekend that he
was flying to New York to try to persuade the Americans of the importance of
climate change controls, the Department of the Environment said yesterday
that the issue would not be discussed.

The Deputy Prime Minister left yesterday with the Environment minister
Michael Meacher to take part in an international commission on sustainable
development. He will also hold a short "get to know you" meeting with Norm
Mineta, the US Transport Secretary.

On Sunday, Mr Prescott said in an interview on GMTV that he would use his
influence to bring the Americans on board the climate change talks, in a
response to President George Bush's decision to abandon the Kyoto Protocol.

He said: "We must argue with the Americans and get them to agree that we
have to have a global solution and America is a very important part of that
solution. I shall be over there arguing the case again."

But the Department of the Environment was clear that Mr Prescott's visit
would not include talks about climate change. A spokesman said: "It is not
the reason he is going out there. He is going out there to take part in the
commission on sustainable development. He is only meeting the US Transport
Secretary."

The Tories accused Mr Prescott of making an "embarrassing gaffe". A
Conservative Party spokesman said: "[He] has put his foot in it again. He is
such an embarrassment to the Government. Climate change is a serious issue
for serious minds. Should the Deputy Prime Minister be handling this?"

Mr Prescott was instrumental in pushing through the Kyoto Treaty in 1997,
which led to a legally binding agreement to a 5 per cent cut in greenhouse
gases by 2010. Although America has only has 4 per cent of the world's
population it causes 25 per cent of its pollution. President Bush's
statement that he will not abide by the deal has infuriated
environmentalists. The Green Party has launched an international boycott of
American-owned petrol stations in protest against his decision.

[CTRL] Blow-Why CIA Dopers Beat The Independents

2001-04-16 Thread William Shannon
http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/index.cfm

'Blow' -- Why CIA Dopers Beat the Independents
by URI DOWBENKO
Despite his ambition and entrepreneurial skills, George Jung, the working
class hero/ drug dealer of Blow, never had a chance.

After all, even mobster John Gotti, Jr. -- when asked in court whether the
Family still sold drugs -- answered, “No, we can’t compete with the
government.”

As George comments in the voice-over, “Everyone was getting stoned,” plus
his new friends on the beach “all seemed to share the same occupation –
stewardess.”

So George and his friend Tuna (Ethan Suplee) meet their first connection,
marijuana dealer and hairdresser Derek, (Paul Reubens), a real-life character
who actually laundered his profits by fronting beauty salons in LA’s South
Bay.

Before NAFTA and “Free Trade” were even invented, George’s first scheme was
to import marijuana from Mexico and distribute it to Boston area college
students. He used the airline stewardesses as mules, since their luggage
cleared the airport without being checked.

One of the stewardesses, Barbara (Franka Potente) became the love of his life
-- until she died of cancer. George’s stoned version of the American Dream
was shattered forever, but his drive to become financially independent only
deepened his resolve.

George’s dysfunctional childhood added to the karmic stew, as he remembered
how his father “slowly but surely lost everything. He went bankrupt.”
Memories of his father’s business failure fueled his ambition. “Sometimes
you’re flush and sometimes you’re bust,” his father told him. “It doesn’t
really matter. It only seems like it does.” But George decided then and
there, “I don’t ever want to be poor.”

When he did get busted, sent to Danbury Federal Penitentiary, George’s
cellmate turned out to be an associate of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

In Colombia, George meets Escobar, a ruthless drug trafficker, who executes
an underling right in front of him, then proceeds to calmly tell him that
“the business today is cocaine” and that he “wants to find an American he
can trust.” They do the numbers – at $10,000 per kilo, 300 kilos is $3
million.

As George describes it “cocaine exploded in American culture like an atomic
bomb.”

He tells the world that “we were young rich and in love. It
was perfect.” But it wasn’t. The marriage exploded. He was betrayed, then
double-crossed. And in the end, George Jung was sentenced to 60 years in
prison. He’s due to be released in 2015.

George Jung, the independent drug trafficker, was in clearly over his head.
He had absolutely no conception of How the Real World Works. He had no idea
that, as a former US intelligence officer has said, “the CIA is the world’s
most efficient cocaine distributor,” and therefore, as an independent, he
would eventually be characterized as competition to government sanctioned
narcotics traffickers.

The untold story of Blow is the centralization of the cocaine trade as a
vertically integrated global business. In fact, when drugs became Big
Business, the “small businessman” like George Jung became nothing but
expendable. That’s why the DEA is around – to quash the competition.

That’s Planet Earth, by
the way.

Today, it is fair to say that the entire global economy is a money laundry,
based on surreptitious illicit revenues, derived for the most part from drugs
and the laundering of drug profits. Think about the “feasibility” of an $8
million book advance. Think about a $100 million movie. Think about venture
capital firms literally awash with money.

Hello!
I would like to point everybody to the United Ststes Constitution,
article 1 section 1 This article spcifies that only congress can make
laws.
This means that executive orders are unconstitutional, agencies allegedly
created by executive order are unconstitional, (like the environmental
protection agency). Article 1 section 8 does not authorize environmental
protection to the federal governemnt.
Treaties do not supersede the Constitution see the wording that treaties
must be in pursaunt to the constitution otherwise as few as two senators
could amend the constitution. This is why I say that all environmental
activities violate all the peoples of the united states civil rights yours
included. And by the way the 13th amendment bans slavery. What is makes a
slave a slave? Why of course bunky it is the coericve nature of one human
ordering another human around with impunity. This of course is the same
thing of all these mandates coming out of Washington, D.C. ANY MANDATES
made by the FEDERAL, STATE and local governments violates mine and your

[CTRL] Another Top Secret Laptop Missing In Britain

2001-04-16 Thread William Shannon

"Top secret" laptop reported missing

LONDON (Reuters) - A Defence Ministry laptop computer packed with national
security secrets has gone missing after an official left it in the back of a
taxi, the Mirror has reported.

The laptop was thought to contain vital information about new weapons
systems, it said.

The Mirror said the official had notified police about the missing laptop.

No immediate comment was available from the Defence Ministry or police.

It was the latest of several laptops with military or intelligence
information reported lost in Britain in just over a year.

In March last year there were reports that agents of MI5, the domestic
security service, and MI6, the overseas security service, had lost laptops
containing secret information.

The MI5 laptop, said to contain confidential information on Northern Ireland,
was snatched at a London railway station.

Before the start of the 1991 Gulf War, a laptop said to have contained combat
plans was stolen from the car of a air force officer, who lost his job as a
result.

TEL AVIV — China has deployed Israeli air-to-air missiles on its F-8
fighter-jet, one of which was downed during a crash with a U.S spy plane on
April 1.

The Israeli Haaretz daily reported that the Chinese F-8 fighter-jet contains
the Python-3 air-to-air missile. The misile was developed and produced by the
state-owned Rafael, Israel Armament Development Authority.

The Python-3 missile can be seen in a video taken in January that was played
during a weekend news conference by U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld
after the release of the captured American crew. The crew of the EP-3 plane
was released last week.

The newspaper said Israel's defense officials are concerned that the
appearance of the Python-3 on the Chinese F-8 could lead to renewed U.S.
demands to end all defense cooperation between Jerusalem and Beijing. In
July, the Republican-dominated Congress and the Clinton administration
pressured Israel to halt the sale of the Phalcon airborne early-warning
system to China.

Since the suspension of the sale, Israeli-Chinese military cooperation has
been shelved. Over the last few months, officials from both countries are
discussing a revival of such relations. The Python-3 was sold to China with
U.S. consent, Israeli defense sources said. Israel has since developed and
marketed the Python-4.

[CTRL] Hey! Maybe O.J. DIDN'T Do It!

O.J. Confidential
High-profile P.I. Bill Dear believes he knows who killed Nicole Simpson. It's
not who you think.
By Carlton Stowers

It was a Friday in June 1994, and Dallas private investigator Bill Dear,
dapper as ever in his three-piece suit, monogrammed shirt and alligator
boots, had completed his speech to the National Conference of Investigative
Reporters and Editors and remained in the St. Louis Convention Center to
answer questions. On that day, however, attending journalists seemed less
interested in his litany of recollections of high-profile cases he'd worked
during a colorful, sometimes controversial, three-decade career. Never mind
his investigations that had been spun into nonfiction books; solving the
murder of an Ohio millionaire, tracking down a missing 16-year-old genius and
an abducted 5-year-old girl; the tales of dangers faced and bad guys put
behind bars; the staff of assistants he employed who helped him sleuth around
the world; the bigger-than-life persona that Dear had long perpetuated as
"the real Sherlock Holmes." The topic of the day, clearly, was a crime that
had occurred thousands of miles away in an upscale California residential
area known as Brentwood. There, in the realm of Los Angeles' rich and famous,
the slain bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman had been found. The
savage murders that had occurred in the doorway of Nicole Simpson's Bundy
Drive condo only five days earlier had been locked onto the front pages of
newspapers throughout the world and were an around-the-clock concern of the
electronic media. The prime suspect: the murdered woman's ex-husband, O.J.
Simpson, Heisman Trophy winner, NFL Hall of Famer, movie star and pitchman.
What, the famed P.I. was asked, did he think about the case? "I told them
what I believed to be true, based on what I'd heard and read," Dear says.
"O.J.'s blood was found at the Bundy crime scene. Nicole's blood was at
Simpson's home on Rockingham. Ron Goldman's blood was in Simpson's Ford
Bronco. This, I said, looked exactly like what it was: O.J. was guilty." It
was later, as he stood in the convention center lobby, that Dear noticed a
strange look on his son Michael's face. Having accompanied his father on the
trip, the young man had sat in on the question-and-answer session. "You've
never done that before," he finally said. "I didn't have to ask what he
meant," the elder Dear recalls. He had, in a from-the-hip reply to a
reporter's question, joined the nationwide chorus that was proclaiming O.J.
Simpson guilty even before the investigation was complete. The credo he had
sworn to throughout his career--never assume, always verify--had been
violated. Three weeks after the murders--after watching the live coverage of
the bizarre slow-speed chase along a Los Angeles freeway that finally ended
in Simpson's arrest, after reading and re-reading every news report he could
lay hands on, after filling a legal pad with questions he wished
answered--Dear was on a plane to Los Angeles. Though he had been talking of
slowing the frantic pace of his career and moving into semiretirement, he was
off on what would turn into a six-year odyssey. It became, he admits, an
obsession. Working independently, without assistance from Los Angeles law
enforcement or the "dream team" of lawyers assembled to defend Simpson, Dear
went in search of a truth he was convinced had not yet surfaced. Unlike many,
he saw reason to doubt that O.J. was, in fact, guilty of what was being
called the Crime of the Century, many questions that to him weren't
answered:··· If the crime scene had been the horrific bloodbath described by
media reports, why was it that such small amounts of blood were found in
Simpson's Bronco? ·· ·If he had made his getaway from Nicole's condo and
driven directly home to make certain he caught a scheduled late-night flight
to Chicago, didn't it stand to reason that there would have been blood on the
vehicle's gas pedal, brake or steering wheel? ·· ·Why, in the wall-to-wall
beige carpeting inside Simpson's home, was there no blood left by a man who,
just minutes earlier, had stabbed and killed two people? ·· ·In a limited
time frame, how had he disposed of bloody clothing? And, assuming he'd done
so, why would he have overlooked the pair of socks later found in his bedroom
with a single droplet of blood on them? And what of the murder weapon? ··
·Why, after what authorities assumed was a violent struggle with victim
Goldman, did Simpson have no bruises or scratches except for a small cut on
the knuckle of one finger? And if the finger had, in fact, been injured
during the murders, why was it that there was no cut on either of the gloves
Simpson was supposed to have worn? ·· ·Then, the most troubling question of
all: If Simpson was wrongly accused, who else might have committed the
horrific

Energy Task Force Works in Secret

Like Clinton Health Effort, Cheney Group Aims to Limit Leaks, Flak

By Dana Milbank and Eric Pianin
Washington Post Staff Writers
Monday, April 16, 2001; Page A01

The Bush administration's energy task force is something of a secret
society.

At the start of each meeting with outside groups, task-force members
request
that the session be off the record. They say they will share no documents,
to prevent information from leaking. The members are expected not to talk
to
the media, and the few who do are not able to talk about policy.

"There really isn't anything to talk about," said an official from the
Transportation Department. "I'm sorry, but we're not going to discuss
process," said an Environmental Protection Agency spokesman who intercepted
a call to a task force staffer -- and then asked that his name not be used
with his no comment.

Why such secrecy? The broad outline of the policy recommendations, after
all, is not in doubt. The final proposal, anticipated within the next three
or four weeks, will be heavily focused on increased production of oil, gas
and coal and investment in new refineries, pipelines and power grids,
according to those familiar with the discussions.

The silence, rather, is an effort to keep a low-key atmosphere around the
task force's deliberations. By limiting exposure, the administration is
calculating that it can limit criticism.

To close followers of government, the shroud of secrecy may seem familiar:
It is precisely the approach taken by Hillary Rodham Clinton's health care
task force at the same point in the Clinton administration.

Members of the Bush energy task force, headed by Vice President Cheney, say
they are determined to avoid the disastrous fate that befell that previous
task force. They say that despite some obvious similarities in approach,
their goal -- solving the nation's energy supply-demand imbalance -- is
more
circumscribed and achievable than overhauling America's health care system.

"We're not out to reengineer the nation's electric system," said Lawrence
B.
Lindsey, the president's chief economic adviser and a member of the task
force.

Still, addressing the nation's energy problems is one of the top priorities
for the new administration, and some of the issues the task force plans to
tackle could spark the same kind of outcry created by the Clinton health
task force. Administration officials familiar with the deliberations say
the
task force is looking at everything from increased drilling in the Alaskan
wildlife refuge and the Rocky Mountains to more emphasis on nuclear power
and energy conservation.

For Bush's energy team, as for the Clinton health care task force, the
problem is less in coming up with a set of recommendations than in selling
its ideas to the public. While Clinton's advisers labored in secrecy,
out-of-context news reports made wrong impressions, and the feeding frenzy
by opponents once the plan was released contributed to its downfall.

A similar danger faces the Bush task force as reports come out about
controversial elements in its plan, including more drilling and more
nuclear
power plants. "There will be quite a political reaction to that, and not
just from the anti nuclear-proliferation types," said Paul Leventhal,
president of the Nuclear Control Institute. "It's from anyone who doesn't
want a plant in their back yard."

Already, there are signs of the divisions. Environmental groups complain
that Cheney won't meet with their leaders while the vice president sits
down
with a parade of industry officials. The nation's powerful environmental
lobby is ready to pounce on any report that will shift policy from
conservation toward increased energy production -- a central argument of
the
Bush report.

Some outsiders say the administration is courting trouble with its closed
approach. Ira Magaziner, who ran the Clinton health care task force, said
it
was a "huge mistake" to restrict the news about the health care task force.
It didn't work, and it created hostility, he said. "My experience taught me
from a political and public policy point of view, it's better keeping
things
open."

Magaziner would know. In 1993, The Washington Post wrote about the Clinton
task force's information "blackout," designed "to stop reporters and
lobbyists from bothering the

How the high priests of capitalism run roughshod over fears for
planet

With Bush at its side, the world's most profitable firm waits for the
science to 'get crisp'

Special report: global warming
Special report: George Bush's America

Julian Borger in Irving, Texas and Terry Macalister
Tuesday April 17, 2001

The home of global capitalism can be found just outside Dallas. Set
in the midst of a sprawling industrial park, it is a huge, squat pink
stone edifice, with a sloping black roof like a rustic villa, but a
villa made for giants.

It is the headquarters of Exxon Mobil, and it houses a plush
management suite that is known across the energy industry as the "God
Pod", with the reverence befitting a corporation which last month
emerged as the most profitable in the history of human endeavour.

It is no exaggeration to say the decisions made here in Irving, in
this high temple of private enterprise, will shape the future of the
planet.

Exxon Mobil, which trades in Britain as Esso, does not believe in the
certainty of global warming - it casts doubt on evidence that
industrial emissions of greenhouse gases are raising temperatures.
And not only is it sceptical, it has conducted an aggressive and
expensive public relations operation to challenge scientific
orthodoxy on the subject, as part of its battle to halt international
efforts to put an expensive cap on the smokestacks.

Now a new Republican government, elected with the help of $1.2m from
Exxon Mobil, has abandoned the centrepiece of those international
efforts, the Kyoto treaty on global warming. The Bush administration,
staffed from the president down by former oil executives, has also
ruled out plans to limit US emissions of carbon dioxide in the
foreseeable future.

The exact link between campaign contributions and the subsequent acts
of an administration can only be guessed at. But Exxon's critics
argue that the behemoth's assertive embrace of any scientific
evidence against global warming - however anecdotal or dubious in
origin - has lent it a credibility it does not deserve. It has also
given President George Bush "cover" for his rejection of Kyoto.

The mood in Irving in the new Bush era is confident, even jovial. But
it is equally clear that its executives have been put on their guard
against complacency. Exxon Mobil (born of a mega-merger in 1999) has,
to say the least, an image problem.

In Australia, the first ever conference of the world's green parties
yesterday agreed to launch a boycott against Exxon and other US oil
companies. They want to "send a message" to the companies on the role
they allegedly played in getting Mr Bush elected.

"We know we have a giant target painted on our chests," said Ken
Cohen, Exxon Mobil's head of government relations and public affairs.
Consequently, the company has decided to emerge from its customary
insularity and mount something resembling a charm offensive.

And that is presumably why the outer gates of the God Pod were opened
last week, and two of the corporation's vice presidents were deployed
to explain why Exxon Mobil remains dubious about global warming and
how it is nevertheless cleaning up its act the free-market way.

Mr Cohen and Frank Sprow, in charge of safety and environmental
health, both insist that Exxon Mobil's position has been
misunderstood. Rather than denying the existence of global warming
outright, they argue, Exxon Mobil is simply pointing out the room for
error in such an ever-changing and unpredictable phenomenon as
climate, and urging caution.

"You really can't bring human influence out of the noise of natural
variability at this point," Mr Sprow said. "Science is a process of
inquiry... I'd like the answer tomorrow afternoon but it may be a
decade before the science really gets crisp, because there's so much
fundamental information that has to be worked on."

Even though the science may not be rock hard, Mr Sprow said, Exxon is
working on alternative energy sources, such as low emission fuel
cells for cars, and cutting down emissions in its refineries. It
spends $12m a year researching means of reducing carbon dioxide
emissions, and has so far managed to reduce its own output by 3%.

These arguments have not convinced the corporation's enemies in the
green camp. It is big enough and controversial enough to have
galvanised an entire environmental movement, Campaign Exxon Mobil,
devoted to keeping it under surveillance.

The campaign's spokesman, Peter Altman, argues that the vaunted $12m
in carbon dioxide research is a fairly paltry share of the $17bn net
income Exxon Mobil earned last year. Furthermore, he said, whatever
beneficial effect that money might have is more than outweighed by
the corporation's role in undermining the accepted wisdom that global
warming is a real threat.

Other oil companies, such as BP and Shell, have crossed the
barricades. At its annual general meeting on Thursday, BP will come
under pressure from green activists who have

Re: [CTRL] Zero tolerance

2001-04-16 Thread Zuukie1

-Caveat Lector-

I wish I could take credit for writing the following, but it was written by
someone else. Although it was written in response to another problem, the
following indicates one of the reasons for the zero tolerance trend in the
schools. Parents should be aware of the book Education in the New Age by
Alice Bailey to understand what is happening in their children's schools.
Treating one's fellow man with respect should be a result of knowledge and
thinking for oneself and not a result of forced conformity, repression and
groupthink.

"I think the key statement here is psychological training, which has
effectively
replaced academic specialization in teacher training. This goes back to the
New
Age conspiracy, which was labeled the "Aquarian Conspiracy" by author Marylin
Ferguson in 1981. Please note that the official vehicle for the new age
movement, Theosophy, was founded over a hundred years before Ferguson's
blockbuster book was published.

As of the late forties, theosophical medium Alice Bailey of Lucis Trust
predicted that the education of the new age would be characterized by
teachers trained as
psychological facilitators for globalism and political correctness, rather
than
specialists in certain fields of knowledge.

"The general trend of his education will be more psychological than in the
past
and the information thus gained will be geared to his peculiar situation. All
children have certain assets and should be taught how to use them; these they
share with the whole of humanity, irrespective of race or nationality."
Education in the New Age
http://www.netnews.org/bk/education/edu1026.html

"The errors and mistakes of the past techniques are obvious but there is no
need
to waste time in emphasizing them or in piling up instances. What is needed
is a
realization of the immediate opportunity, plus the recognition that the
required
shift in objectives and change in methods will take much time. We shall have
to
train our teachers differently and much time will be lost as we grope for the
new and better ways, develop the new textbooks and find the men and women who
can be impressed with the new vision and who will work for the new
civilization.
I have sought only to emphasize principles and I do this with the recognition
that many of them are by no means new but that they require new emphasis. I
have
endeavored to show that now is the day of opportunity, for everything has to
be
built up again, for everything has been destroyed in the greater part of the
world. The war has demonstrated that we have not taught aright. A better
educational system should, therefore, be worked out which will present the
possibilities of human living in such a manner that barriers will be broken
down, prejudices removed and a training given to the developing child which
will
enable him, when grownup, to live with other men in harmony and goodwill. This
can be done, if patience and understanding are developed and if educators
realize that "where there is no vision, the people perish."

"An international system of education, developed in joint conference by
broadminded teachers and educational authorities in every country, is today a
crying need and would provide a major asset in preserving world peace. Steps
towards this are already being taken and today groups of educators are getting
together and discussing the formation of a better system which will guarantee
that the children of the different nations (beginning with the millions of
children now demanding education) will be taught truth, without bias or
prejudice. World democracy will take form when men everywhere are regarded in
reality as equal; when boys [88] and girls are taught that it does not matter
whether a man is an Asiatic, an American, a European, British, a Jew or a
Gentile but only that each has an historical background and history which
enables him to contribute something to the good of the whole, and that the
major
requirement is an attitude of goodwill and a constant effort to foster right
human relations. World Unity will be a fact when the children of the world are
taught that religious differences are largely a matter of birth; that if a man
is born in Italy, the probability is that he will be a Roman Catholic; if he
is
born a Jew, he will follow the Jewish teaching; if born in Asia, he may be a
Mohammedan, a Buddhist, or belong to one of the Hindu sects; if born in other
countries, he may be a Protestant and so on. He will learn that the religious
differences are largely the result of man made quarrels over human
interpretations of truth. Thus gradually, our quarrels and differences will be
offset and the idea of the One Humanity will take their place."

"Much greater care will have to be given in picking and training the teachers
of

I thought the Constitution gives the final authority to decide what laws are
constitutional or not, is the Supreme Court, not John Q. Citizen. You know,
the same Supreme Court that appointed your hero GW Bush President?

World's Nobel Laureates And Preeminent Scientists Call On Government
Leaders To Halt Global Warming

(Washington, DC - September 30) More than 1,500 of the world's most
distinguished senior scientists, including the majority of Nobel laureates in
science, have signed a landmark consensus declaration urging leaders
worldwide to act immediately to prevent the potentially devastating
consequences of human-induced global warming. The "World Scientists'
Call for Action at Kyoto" was presented to the Clinton Administration today
at a Science Summit on Climate Change in Washington, DC.

"Let there be no doubt about the conclusions of the scientific community:
the threat of global warming is very real and action is needed immediately,"
said Nobel laureate Henry Kendall, Chairman of the Union of Concerned
Scientists and author of the scientists' statement. "It is a grave error to
believe that we can continue to procrastinate. Scientists do not believe this
and no one else should either."

Leading scientists came to the Science Summit to ensure that government
leaders base their global warming policies on climate science, not politics.
In December, world leaders will gather in Kyoto, Japan, to negotiate final
agreement on a treaty to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other
heat-trapping gases that are altering the climate. The White House has yet
to announce its concrete proposals to limit global warming and has
scheduled a conference on the subject for October 6.

The scientists' declaration urges all government leaders to demonstrate a
new commitment to protecting the global environment for future
generations. According to the scientists, a strong treaty will be the "first
step to protect future generations from dire prospects that would result from
failure to meet our responsibilities toward them. The stark facts carry a
clear signal: There is only one responsible choice to act now."

"This is a wake-up call for world leaders. Never before has the senior
scientific community spoken so boldly on the urgent need to prevent
disruption to our climate," said Nobel laureate Dudley Herschbach,
Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University. "Scientists and citizens
around the world will hold leaders accountable if a strong climate treaty is
not reached."

The "Call for Action" is notable in both the pedigree and cautious nature of
its backers. The signers come from 63 countries and include leaders and
senior members of national science academies from around the world,
chief authors and the former head of the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change, National Medal of Science recipients, and winners of the
Craaford Prize. A majority of the world's Nobel winners in science - 98 out
of 171 - signed the statement.

The declaration points out that a strong climate treaty in Kyoto would
address one of the most serious threats to the planet and future
generations. The declaration states that:

* Global warming is underway and our overuse of fossil fuels is partly to
blame.

* Climate change is projected to raise sea levels; increase the likelihood of
more intense rainfall, floods, and droughts; and endanger human health by
greater exposure to heat waves and encroachment of tropical diseases to
higher latitudes.

* Climate change is likely to exacerbate food shortages and spread
undernutrition by adversely affecting water supplies, soil conditions,
temperature tolerances, and growing seasons.

* Climate change will accelerate the appalling pace at which species are
now disappearing, especially in vulnerable ecosystems. Possibly one-third
of all species may be lost before the end of the next century.

* Continued destruction of forests will undermine the environment's natural
ability to store carbon, thereby enhancing global warming.

The scientists note that leading economists have identified viable policies
for reducing global warming and urge government leaders to enact sound
energy policies that promote energy efficiency and renewable energy, like
solar and wind power.

"We need to speed the transition away from oil and coal while developing
cutting-edge technologies involving wind, biomass, and solar power," said
Kendall. "A move to clean energy and energy efficiency will bring major
benefits to both industrial and
