I tried this on windows 10. I also did not see OK option. However, I just
clicked the top of the module next to the module name and the effect was
applied. I also do this when using the crop module.

afaik, "perspective corrections" is the only module which requires leaving
to finalize an action.

Regarding "crop and rotate", to finalize a crop I double-click inside 
the cropped area. "Folding" the module by clicking on its name in the 
right panel also works.


It kind of makes sense to consider a crop has to be confirmed, although 
since that was coded, darktable gained "undo" ability with ctrl-z.

I am puzzled why the act of leaving a module is used as an event to activate or 
finalize the operation of the module. This seems like a strange user interface 
practice. Can someone enlighten me as to how and why it was adopted in 
darktable?

As it seems to be an EXIV2 issue and not darktables, I'll update the 
github issue with your this info and close the issue.


I will however continue investing and try to resolve the issue.

I have 18000 TIFFs waiting to be converted to AVIF. I refuse to create 
new jpegs (technology of 1992) in 2020. I'll just use up more diskspace 
until this issue is resolved :-)

Feel free to add your findings to the issue, hoping that this can lead to
solutions.
In the meantime, my workaround is not combining "local contrast" with the
"basic adjustments".

For some of my images I get a partially or even completely black
thumbnail in lighttable view after editing the images.
Deactivating the
edits I made does not bring back the thumbnail. Nor does a
'darktable-generate-cache' from command line restore the thumbnail.
Decreasing the zoom level in lighttable view from 4 to 3 restores the
thumbnail. Increasing it again to 4 or more images per row shows
again
the corrupted thumbnail.

Can anybody point me into the right direction to address the issue?
