[darktable-user] date/time sorting behavior
Dear all, I am confused by the date/time sorting behavior: (1) If I change the filter e.g. from * to ***, the sorting will not applied directly. I must push the sorting forward/backward button to do so. This could be fixed easily, I guess. (2) Even if I push the sorting forward/backward button, some pictures are not in the right order. It seems the first oder priority are the film rolls of the collection, and the second order is the date/time. I did not expect to work with different versions (ppa vs. repository from my distribution), just recognized during I try to get that working. By the way, I'm using different versions (PC: 2.0.3, LP: 2.2.5), but the behaviour should be the same. I just checked the differences of the XMP files: (1) When I close darktable at LP this XMP file is written: http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#;> http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/; xmlns:xmpMM="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/mm/; xmlns:darktable="http://darktable.sf.net/; xmp:Rating="5" xmpMM:DerivedFrom="DSC1630.JPG" darktable:xmp_version="2" darktable:raw_params="0" darktable:auto_presets_applied="1" darktable:history_end="1"> (2) By choosing the 'reload XMP' in the dialoge I get only two differences: darktable:xmp_version="2" > darktable:xmp_version="1" new lines between 2 0 monochrome 0040 gz12eJxjYGBgkGAAgRNODESDBnsIHll8ANNSGQM= 7 0 and (3) By choosing the 'overwrite XMP' in the dialoge I get only three differences: the first two are the same like in (2) the third is: darktable:params="9891cc3f8f1e9e410040" > darktable:params="0040" Please note that in all versions the monochrome mode is enabled (this was my criteria to observe the changes). [darktable-user] sidecar handling
Dear users, imagine the following situation: I have two computers in my LAN, call them PC and LP. If I am working on LP, I usually mount the releated folder structure with my photographs from PC via sshfs. Recently I was working on my LP and switched to PC later, but I could not manage to see the modifications on PC I previously did on LP. I already set the core preference 'look for updated xmp files on startup' on enabled, but neither 'reload selected XMP-files' nor 'overwrite selected XMP-files' resulted in the desired behaviour.
