Yes, I guess that's reasonable. I just tried vi from within Emacs/GUD (I'll
have the police after me now! ;-)), and vi starts but does not look correct
(does not clear the window). It is possible to quit it normally though and it
doesn't crash but it's very hard to edit anything.

I guess this is because Emacs/GUD doesn't behave like a real terminal, and I
would prefer if zile would just quit with an error message in situations like
this.

Bug#309868: man page doesn't document passwords

2005-05-19 Thread Martin Michlmayr

According to #249648, r2e does simple username/password
authentication. However, the man page doesn't mention this feature or
how to enable it.

Bug#309867: fails in an ugly way when you do 'add' without 'new' first

2005-05-19 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: rss2email
Version: 1:2.54-2
Severity: minor

I just installed rss2email on a test machine to check something out
and immediately issued a 'r2e add' command, not remembering that I
have to do a 'r2e new' first. r2e failed with the following ugly
message. It would be nice if it would catch the Python exception and
print a message saying something like 'xx doesn't exist. If you're
using r2e for the first time, you have to run "r2e new"'.

I don't think that libdbi0 and libdb-mysql are required for mod_perl.

Oh.

And, indeed libdbd-mysql already links against libmysqlclient14 in sarge and
sid. So then, why are you suggesting a rebuild as a solution to this bug?

What is the target system ? The bug you report slightly sounds like
#302771, especially if the target is an XP system.

Could you also try to list a directory with less than 32 entries?

If needed please ping either me (bubulle) or Steve (vorlon) on IRC

Bug#309865: fails to restart from init.d/hotplug restart, and unable to deal with memory card reader

2005-05-19 Thread John Shin

Package: hotplug
Version: 0.0.20040329-22
Severity: normal

My problem mainly deals with a PQI high speed usb 2.0
reader (Travel
Flash) which I use to read/write SD cards. This is
with any
brands/capacity of SD cards that I have (from 128mb to
1 gig). When I
boot the pc with the card inserted, it is correctly
recognized and
correct device name is created under /dev/sdd1. Also,
when the computer
is already started, if I plug in the card, it usually
detects and
correct device name is created about 80% of the time.

However, when I remove the card and reinsert it,
correct device name in
/dev/ is not created. It might work the first
(re)insertion, but
afterwards, it will always not work. It might create
/dev/sdd, but this
won't work as memory card needs /dev/sdd1 to be
properly mounted.

DMESG shows that card is detected with correct
capacity, but correct
device name is not created in second+ insertion. This
is true whether I
properly unmount the card or not.

Currently, I run Debian Sarge. Interestingly, when I
used to run Ubuntu
Hoary, I had the same problem. Only way to fix the
problem was
init.d/hotplug restart, which will almost always allow
me to mount the
sd card. I tried this under Sarge, and this seems to
hang hotplug (thus
my mouse as well).

Thanks.

We might need a level 10 debug output in case you have an opportunity
to reproduce this.

I'll try to reproduce it (I bet I won't..:-)).

Could you also check the eaxct version of the samba package? Very
probably 3.0.14a-1

Please also try using the package from sid : 3.0.14a-2. This could

If I'm reading right, this change also disables the noatime setting that was
previously enabled for small drives. Wouldn't we want that to stay enabled?

You'll need 'true' here.

This is Likely to be the problem: add auto=md to every
ARRAY line where you want /dev/mdX to be created,
not as a separate line; see man mdadm.conf(5).

Bug#309859: please add simple patch for automatic lua syntax highlighting

2005-05-19 Thread Greg Orlowski
Package: vim-common
Version: 6.3-071+1

The current scripts.vim file (/usr/share/vim/vim63/scripts.vim), which
is used to detect a script's filetype when vim is launched, has no
entry for the lua language.

Here's the entry for perl (lines 89,91 in my file):

" Perl
  elseif s:name =~ 'perl'
set ft=perl

Please add an entry like this for lua. The names are SOMEWHAT
alphabetized, but not really, so you can add it directly before perl
if you want.

"--CLIP (Here's the entry I added, just add the below 3 lines
" Lua
  elseif s:name =~ 'lua'
set ft=lua
"--CLIP

When this entry is added, syntax highlighting is automatically
detected for scripts that have something like:

#!/usr/bin/lua

as the shebang line. The lua.vim syntax highlighting definition file
already exists in the /syntax directory, but without the above entry
in scripts.vim, the filetype has to be set manually in vim for syntax
highlighting to work properly.

Thanks!

Uh, linking libdbd-mysql against mysqlclient14 is not an option for sarge,

hppa is in the process of adding support for prctl, so please add hppa
to the architecture list.

Also, if the syscall returns EINVAL, it would be nice if prctl indicated
that support was probably missing from the kernel, if it doesn't do that
already.

Bug#302799: libgtkspell0: workaround for ' parsing

2005-05-19 Thread Jonathan
Package: libgtkspell0
Version: 2.0.10-1
Followup-For: Bug #302799

I decided to do some testing on this bug today, and I found a way to
make gtkspell handle words with ' in them appropriately.

It has a workaround version of gtk_text_iter_forward_word_end() named
gtkspell_text_iter_forward_word_end() (and another one for the 'back'
version) that is only enabled if the symbol FIXED_PANGO is not defined
in config.h. The check that the configure script uses is simply if the
version of pango is greater than 1.8.0.

It seems that perhaps this check is somewhat too optimistic.

No, it does not. Upload to unstable only, please; there's no reason for two

Bug#294927: This bit me as well

2005-05-19 Thread Roberto C. Sanchez
I just got bit by this on a package I was preparing to try and get
sponsored. While I agree that lintian shouldn't be required to
check the .orig.tar.gz, it should at least warn of an empty .diff.gz

That at least indicates that the maintainer screwed something up,
since any non-native package will have a .diff.gz associated with
it, and it being empty ought to set of a flag to lintian.

Tied a couple of changes with the following results (I'm not using udev):

# cat /etc/default/mdadm

This local clock driver uses the system clock, not the CMOS/RTC/hardware

Aren't we taking this a little far?

The average users couldn't care less about byte-compiler warnings. If
the installation fails, he has the log file to send us for debugging.
If it goes well the logs can be deleted. Showing byte-compilation
warning serves very few people.

Unless there's concensus on this from the debian-emacs mmailing list,
this is not a bug.

placed it under a statement of "bogofilter can now use sqlite", so I
thought you were asking me the benefit of that (which I thought was a
strange thing to ask).

Instead, I think you're asking me "for what benefit is a
sqlite-enabled build of bogofilter in Debian?"

In answer to that question, my answer is much the same: bogofilter is
capable of providing that alternative, and I'd like to be able to take
advantage of it in a Debian binary package.

If other backend storage is possible, there's even more reason to have
alternative builds of Debian: to use the capabilities provided by the
upstream software.

No, bogofilter has supported tdb and qdbm long before. sqlite was the
last database backend to be added.

Bug#309854: RM: cantus3 -- RoM; no longer maintained upstream

2005-05-19 Thread Igor Stroh
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
Please remove cantus3 from the archive (testing and unstable).
Justification:
 - the upstream is unresponsive
 - no new version since 2004-04-23
 - functionality is duplicated by other packages
Cheers,
Igor

For what benefit? Why not tdb or qdbm?

Bug#287985: I am interested

2005-05-19 Thread Igor Stroh
Hi Youssef,
are you still interested in taking over the maintenance for cantus?
If so, please take appropriate actions[0], otherwise I'll request the
removal of this package from debian archive (testing and unstable). If
you want to adopt cantus, the request for removal would be only with
respect to testing.

Cheers,
Igor

Bug#309853: dh-make: CDBS option not working properly

2005-05-19 Thread Nelson A. de Oliveira
Package: dh-make
Version: 0.39
Severity: normal

Hi

With the new release supporting CDBS, I found some errors:

$ dh_make -c
Option c is ambiguous (cdbs, copyright)
(...)

But when looking on dh_make --help we see:

-c, --copyright use of license in copyright file
(gpl|lgpl|artistic|bsd)
(...)
-b, --cdbsset package class to cdbs

It's saying that -b is for CDBS, but in fact, it's using -c!

Also, when using the CDBS option, the gererated watch.ex is:

# Example watch control file for uscan
# Rename this file to "watch" and then you can run the "uscan" command
# to check for upstream updates and more.
# Site Directory Pattern Version Script
version=2
sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/Incoming gifsicle-(.*)\.tar\.gz debian uupdate

This file is different from the file generated without using CDBS.
It should be the same.

Running "fakeroot debian/rules clean" as described on debian/control, generated
by dh_make, leaves us with a control file with "Architecture:" empty.

Also, "man dh_make" don't have the new option of CDBS.

Sorry if something that I said isn't really a bug.

Thanks
Nelson

Bug#275546: Possibly isolated bug -- no fix yet

2005-05-19 Thread Lee Azzarello
/usr/bin/rootstrap is a python script. It defines three kernel options which
appear to not be used on sid.

'root=/dev/root',
'rootflags=/',
'rootfstype=hostfs',

But then:

# ls -l /dev/root
ls: /dev/root: No such file or directory

Which would imply the script mounts this after it is called. This search
in /usr/lib/rootstrap feels like it's getting warmer:

# grep -n host *
builder:12:os.system("mount -t hostfs hostfs
-o /etc/rootstrap /etc/rootstrap")
builder:16:os.mkdir("/tmp/host")
builder:17:os.system("mount -t hostfs hostfs /tmp/host")
builder:28:configfile = '/tmp/host' +
os.path.expanduser(os.path.join('/tmp/host',os.path.expanduser(argsplit[1])))
builder:30:os.system("mount -t hostfs hostfs -o %s /etc/rootstrap/workdir" %
workdir)
builder:68:os.system("mount -o remount,ro hostfs /")

This would imply a typo in the rootstrap script. But changing root=/dev/root
to /tmp/root changes nothing.

The kernel message implies it can't find init, yet init is passed on the
command line. In order to execute it, the UML kernel would have to aware
of /usr/bin/python. My diagnosis is it isn't.

Other notable discoveries are that Matt Zimmerman has many bugs approaching or
over a year old, yet in /usr/share/doc/rootstrap/changelog.Debian.gz says
he's updated the package in 2004 and mentions Sarge.

Bug#309816: zile crashes when started from within Emacs (in GUD-mode)

2005-05-19 Thread Reuben Thomas
On Thu, 19 May 2005, Simon Kågström wrote:

It seems like zile lacks some checks for certain terminals. The bug with
emacs occurs in term_termcap.c:135 (term_refresh), where tgoto() returns NULL,
but that
return value is never checked.
Thanks for this. If tgoto doesn't return a string, there's not much
point in Zile continuing, so what I anticipate doing is wrapping tgoto
so that its return value is checked, and if NULL, then Zile exits with a
fatal error. Does this seem reasonable? If Zile can't do cursor
positioning, there doesn't seem to be much point continuing.

The other obvious alternative, which might arguably be useful for
debugging, as you were trying to, would be to have an empty string
returned in this case, which will obviously result in the display being
incorrect, which could be confusing...

Bug#309851: madman: continuous play mode (beginnings of solution included)

2005-05-19 Thread Chris Boyle
Package: madman
Version: 0.93.0-3.1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

When listening to madman for long periods of time, having to click the auto dj
command every so often is annoying. Of course you can click it many times
initially, but then you get repeated selections because it is oblivious to what
it just now added to the queue, and the recently played rules are otherwise
very good. So I thought it ought to be able to add songs to the playlist
whenever it is about to run out, and thus theoretically keep going forever.

Here is a patch which does that all the time, better would be to have a
checkbox just above the rule customisations in prefs, "add 20 more songs when
the last track starts". Probably should be off by default. Or even better,
"always keep at least [ 20] songs ahead of the current one (0 for off)" (number
configurable) so you can bump things up the queue if you want. I'll add such a
thing if I get time, but for now, here is what I'm running, because it works
for me.

Very true, it would be classified as an i386. I do hope to get a

As a follow up, I wiped the gentoo from my system and put on debian

The fix is trivial : libocamlgsl-ocaml-dev depends on libgsl0-dev. But
it needs to be uploaded to unstable AND to testing-proposed-updates (since
you submit a grave bug). I probably will do an RFS tomorrow night.

Bug#309849: shorewall: Add Allow* Deny* rules for SMTP DCC server (Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse)

2005-05-19 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: shorewall
Version: 2.2.3-1
Severity: wishlist

The Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse or DCC is a cooperative, dis-
tributed system intended to detect "bulk" mail or mail sent to many
peo- ple. It allows individuals receiving a single mail message to
determine that many other people have received essentially identical
copies of the message and so reject or discard the message.

   http://www.rhyolite.com/anti-spam/dcc/dcc-tree/FAQ.html
Do I need to run a DCC server?

... When normally installed by the included Makefiles, DCC clients
are configured to use the public DCC servers without any additional
configuration, except to open firewalls to port 6277 (UDP).

Grumble. I know I've seen this error message before. For me the
problem was the swingwtdemo binary depended on both libgcj.so.4 and
libgcj.so.5, which won't work. It should only depend on libgcj.so.4
Try...
$ ldd /usr/bin/swingwtdemo
$ ldd /usr/lib/libswt.so.3
$ ldd /usr/lib/libswt.so.4
# apt-get remove libgcj5
$ swingwtdemo

Try installing swingwtdemo from sid instead of hoary. Version 0.86.1-1
uses SWT 3.1, the same version as Azureus. swingwt-demo 0.85.1-1 uses
SWT 3.0.

No. It was probably libswt-gtk-3.1-jni that was installed before.
libswt-gtk3-jni is an older version of the same library.

Sorry, I'm not sure what's changed and why it suddenly started working
for you. If you think it's related to those packages you just
installed, you could try removing them one by one and see if any of
them cause azureus to stop working.

Regarding /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_03/lib, are you using the Debian
java-package Java package or one that's been installed by hand?

Preparing an update for sarge. Release team: do i have the green
light for upload into testing ?

gcompris (6.5.2-4) testing; urgency=low

  * Backport to testing of RC bugs fixed in the sid package.
  * Changes from 6.5.4-4:
* Added missing dependency on python2.3-gnome2, without which no
python board can work - that's about 20 boards in the most recent ones
  (Closes: #309838).
* Recommend python2.3-xml to be able to save SVG animations; mention
  it in extended description.
  * Upstream fix for key events being handled twice, breaking all
activities involving keyboard input (Closes: #309848).
  * Upstream patch also fixes the sample rate in SDL_Mixer initialization,
which causes breaks with some sound cards.

no files, all symlinks...
This is not a bug. This package contains only flavour (k7) specific
header files, creating a bunch of symlinks to the flavour-independent
header files which come from the kernel-headers-2.6.11-1 (which this
package depends on). Are you experiencing any problems with such setup?

In the gcompris activity anim, draw, melody, click_on_letter there is a
problem with key entries. For exemple in draw, entering a letter makes
it apears twice.
This is a problem in the way key event are handle in several activity.
The patch fixes all these issues.

Bug#309846: locales: new localedef.1 manual page

2005-05-19 Thread Lars Wirzenius
Package: locales
Version: 2.3.5-2

Attached is a new version of the localedef.1 manual page
(debian/local/manpages/localedef.1) and a diff against the previous
version (the former is there so that people who want to review it can
more easily get a complete version).

I have added descriptions of options that were missing (presumably added
since the manual page was originally written years ago), and clarified
the behavior in general. I hope it is complete and correct, but it might
not be. I had to read through the source and experiment, and I may have
overlooked or misinterpreted something. Should be better than the
current version, however.

Hopefully this is useful. Happy hacking.

.SH DESCRIPTION
The
.B localedef
program reads the indicated
.I charmap
and
.I input
files, compiles them to a binary form quickly usable by the
.BR locale (7)
functions in the C library, and places the output in
.IR outputpath .
.PP
If
.I outputpath
contains a slash character ('/'), it is directly the name of the output
directory.
In this case, there is a separate output file for each locale category
(LC_CTIME, LC_NUMERIC, and so on).
.PP
Otherwise, if the
.B \-\-no\-archive
option is used,
.I outputpath
is the name of a subdirectory in
.B /usr/lib/locale
where per-category compiled files are placed.
.PP
Otherwise,
.I outputpath
is the name of a locale and the compiled locale data is added to the
archive file
.BR /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive .
.PP
If no
.I charmapfile
is given, the value
.I POSIX
is used by default.
If no
.I inputfile
is given, or if it is given as a dash
.RB ( \- ),
.B localedef
reads from standard input.
.SH OPTIONS
Most options can have either short or long forms. If multiple short
options are used, they can be combined in one word (for example,
.B \-cv
is identical to
.BR "\-c \-v" ).
.PP
If a short option takes an argument, the argument can be given separately
as the next word
.RB ( "\-f foo" ),
or it can be written together with the option letter
.RB ( \-ffoo ).
If a long option takes an argument, the argument can be given separately
as the next word, or it can be written as option=argument
.RB ( \-\-charmap=foo ).
.SS "Operation selection options"
A few options direct
.B localedef
to do something else than compile locale definitions.
Only one of these should be used at a time.
.TP
.B \-\-delete\-from\-archive
Delete the named locales from the locale archive file.
.TP
.B \-\-list\-archive
List the locales contained in the locale archive file.
.TP
.B \-\-add\-to\-archive
Add the
.I compiledpath
directories to the locale archive file.
The directories should have been created by previous runs of
.BR localedef ,
using
.BR \-\-no\-archive .
.SS "Other options"
Some of the following options are only sensible for some operations; hopefully
it is self-evident which ones.
.TP
.BI \-f " charmapfile" ", \-\-charmap=" charmapfile
Specify the file that defines the symbolic character names that are
used by the input file. If the file is in the default directory for
character maps, it is not necessary to specify the full pathname.
This default directory is printed by
.BR "localedef \-\-help" .
.TP
.BI \-i " inputfile" ", \-\-inputfile=" inputfile
Specify the locale definition file to compile. If
.I inputfile
is not absolute,
.B localedef
will also look in the directory specified by the environment variable
.B I18NPATH
and in the default directory for locale definition files. This default
directory is printed by
.BR "localedef \-\-help" .
.TP
.BI \-u " repertoirefile" ", \-\-repertoire-map=" repertoirefile
Read mappings from sybolic names to Unicode UCS4 value from
.IR repertoirefile .
.TP
.BI \-A " aliasfile" ", \-\-alias\-file=" aliasfile
Use
.I aliasfile
to look up aliases for locale names.
There is no default aliases file.
.TP
.BI \-\-prefix= pathname
Set prefix to be prepended to the full archive pathname.
By default, the prefix is empty.
Setting the prefix to
.IR foo ,
the archive would be placed in
.BR foo/usr/lib/locale/locale/locale-archive .
.TP
.B "\-c, \-\-force"
Write the output files even if warnings were generated about the input
file.
.TP
.B \-\-old\-style
Create old-style tables.
.TP
.B "\-v, \-\-verbose"
Generate extra warnings about errors that are normally ignored.
.TP
.B \-\-quiet
Suppress all notifications and warnings, and report only fatal errors.
.TP
.B \-\-posix
Be strictly POSIX conformant. Implies
.BR \-\-verbose .
This option currently has no other effect. Posix conformance is
assumed if the environment variable
.B POSIX

Bug#309845: freepops: polling hotmail accounts fails

2005-05-19 Thread Jamie L. Penman-Smithson
package: freepops
version: 0.0.27-2
severity: important

Starting on Wednesday freepops has been unable to collect mail from any
Hotmail accounts. I've verified that the accounts are still active and
that the username/passwords are correct, accessing the accounts via
www.hotmail.com works fine.

Severity important since this means that freepops can't be used to poll
hotmail accounts, which has a "major affect on usability" IMHO.

Here's the debug output:

Bug#307332: azureus: Azureus should call update-desktop-database in postinst/postrm

2005-05-19 Thread Shaun Jackman
package azureus

The MimeType entry in azureus.desktop doesn't do anything unless you
call update-desktop-database from the postinst script. dh_desktop can
take care of this for you.

I should have some time tonight to do this and I'd be glad to take a look.
Please let me know what you're happy to have me do or not do in terms of
building, loading modules, etc.

This was the solution. After a "apt-get dist-upgrade" my 'play'

The package failed to build on all arches, because makelist is not
executable. In case you added it in your debian patch, and it was executable
on your system, you have to make it executable in debian/rules, since the
debian patch does not preserve file permissions.

Sorry, I wasn't aware it had been fixed when I changed the severities.
I was ensuring that all affected packages were set the same.

However... doc++ is still abandoned upstream, so I would recommend
converting to Doxygen as soon as possible. If it's no longer
maintained, we should remove it at the earliest opportunity IMHO.

Sorry to bother you again but I'd really like to see that fixed in
sarge. The patch attached adds the test clause in configure, stolen from
the IPv4 counterpart. Works for me.

bug 292337 is fixed, and there is no RC bug pending for doc++.
Is there any reason you want to remove doc++ now?

There is not much we (as in kde maintainers) can do about that. Why
kdenetwork has been built three times successfully[1] On sparc, yet
never uploaded remains a mystery. As a debian developer and sparc user
, you could test and upload, but AFAIK buildd admins prefer people
would not do that.

2005-05-19 Thread Roman Himmes
Package: samba
Version: 3.0.14a-1
Severity: important

MacOSX Tiger cannot connect from the Finder to a Debian Testing Samba
installation. The log files show following messages:

rpc_parse/parse_prs.c:prs_mem_get(537)
prs_mem_get: reading data of size 2 would overrun buffer.
rpc_server/srv_pipe.c:api_pipe_bind_req(919)

Some other mac users have the same problem which have discussed it in
this forum unfortunatly in german:
http://www.macuser.de/forum/showthread.php?t=89869

They claim that with the options
encrypt passwords = true
and
security = user
they can mount shares ob the shell. But I could not, even with the
changes.

Bug#196177: Mktime, -1and PHP && mktime mishandles dates before 1970

2005-05-19 Thread Anthony Awtrey
This bug is still a problem in 2005 with Sarge frozen...

$ php4 -r 'echo date("F j, Y", mktime(0,0,0,05,01,1950)) . "\n";'
December 31, 1969

Bug 220006 should also be merged with this one:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=196177

Sigh... Would someone post what the hold-up is to one of these bugs? It
seems silly to have a bug like this open for so long without some kind
of justification for why it is being kept open. Especially since the guy
who posted bug 196177 even included a test program to illustrate the bug
and a link to exactly where the problem occured in the gnulib cvs.

Disregard the comment about the device-removable.sh script. I believed
it worked again by replacing the file, but I've been unable to confirm
this again later on. Downgrading definately works though.

Bug#307332: azureus: Azureus should call update-desktop-database in postinst/postrm

Basically, it indexes the MimeType information from
$XDG_DATA_DIRS/applications/*.desktop into
$XDG_DATA_DIRS/applications/mimeinfo.cache.

The freedesktop.org Desktop Entry Specification[0] has more info at

I assume that anything implementing the Desktop Entry Spec requires, or
will require in the future, the use of the mimeinfo.cache file. In
Sarge, this includes Gnome 2.8. On my system, Gnome didn't know that
Azureus could open application/x-bittorrent files until I ran
update-desktop-database, hence the bug report. ;)

XFCE 4 and Rox also use the spec, though I don't know if they use
mimeinfo.cache. I actually though that KDE 3.3 used it; perhaps its
implementation was incomplete until KDE 3.4 (or later? I haven't used
KDE for a while so I'm not up to speed on such things).

looks like you selected to use the Samba 2 schema in your LAM
configuration (because of sambaAccount instead of sambaSamAccount).
If you just copied the file from the Samba sources then all Samba 2
parts are commented. You have to remove the comments or select the Samba
3 schema in your LAM configuration.

Concerning your other mail:

It is impossible for LAM to depend on Samba or install the schema file
with the package. The first reason is that LAM does not depend on a
local installation of OpenLDAP, you can have your server anywhere in the
network. The other reason is that you might use some other
implementation (e.g. Novell eDirectory).

The package description tells you that the Samba schema is used and
there is also a note in the Readme.Debian.

Greetings,
Roland

Bug#309832: liferea: Liferea 0.9.2 Update Available

2005-05-19 Thread Nathan Conrad
Package: liferea
Version: 0.9.1-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

Liferea 0.9.2 was released on Monday. Please upload 0.9.2 to
Debian. It fixes a number of bugs that existed in 0.9.1.

It is my opinion that the following bugs do not exist in 0.9.2.

#302102: liferea: Crash when selecting unread item from the unread vfolder
#302155: liferea: Segfaults
#302058: liferea: crashes while navigating with space
The three of these were related to vfolders and the crashes should
not exist in 0.9.2
#281634: When killed, liferea loses some of its configuration
This was fixed a while ago.
#300452: liferea: exporting OPML kills the appllication
This was also fixed a while ago

-Nathan

Bug#309831: very long window breaks enlightenment

2005-05-19 Thread Julian T. J. Midgley
Package: enlightenment
Version: 1:0.16.7.2-1
Severity: important

(For reasons as yet unknown) 'gtimer' was configured to use a window
height of 30672, by the following setting in .gtimer/gtimerrc:

win_height
30672

When gtimer was started up, it tried to create a window of that size.
The left hand enlightenment window border was missing, and the right
hand consisted of random black dots. Enlightenment was unresponsive
thereafter (I couldn't move/resize any window, switch desktops, or
pull up the enlightenment menu by middle-clicking on the backdrop).
To recover, I had to restart XDM, losing data in windows on other
desktops.

The easiest way to reproduce this will probably be to install gtimer,
run it once, exit, then edit the .gtimer/gtimerrc file to set
win_height as above, and start gtimer again.

My X display is 1400x1050, in case this is relevant, and I run a 3x6
grid of virtual desktops.
