Ah, and remove the main claim with it.

So if I claim a bug during the Zurich BSP, I might do

  user [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  usertag 123456 + madduck
  user [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  usertag 123456 + madduck

and when the BSP is over, search for all bugs by ID
bspclaim-zurich2006 and remove both usertags?

Bug#382419: This is not the problem!

2006-09-05 Thread Ola Lundqvist
severity 382419 important
thanks

Hi

I have now been able to determine that if I define
#define BITS_PER_LONG
at the top of that file on that machine, it no longer
display that warning.

However the segmentation fault still exist.

So it is something else!

But this bug is still valid. It is not a serious bug anymore though.

And I have found it in the makedepend binary.

Regards,

// Ola

Bug#386149: firefox: virtual size in "top" increases to over 200MiB, becomes sluggish after significant use

2006-09-05 Thread Arthur Marsh

Eric Dorland wrote:

* Arthur Marsh ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) wrote:

Package: firefox
Version: 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.6-3
Severity: normal

After opening several tabs and loading several web pages, Firefox's
virtual size as shown in "top" increases to 250 MiB or so, and doesn't
decrease until it is restarted. Firefox becomes sluggish, particularly
with actions like "save link as".

It won't ever decrease, once memory is allocated to a process it is
never reclaimed. It should stabilize though, does it?

It does appear to stabilise, but it can get to the stage where Firefox
is too slow to be considered responsive (I have 256 MiB of RAM on this
machine and can only upgrade it as far as 384 MiB with considerable
expense).

I have no idea why the save link as is slow, but that may have more to
do with GTK then firefox.

I do suspect there are some issues with GTK having to examine every file
in the directory being saved to. If one is doing a save, I only expect
to be informed of:

1) directories within the directory being saved to; and

2) any file with the same name as the file being saved to (and if that
happens, I don't mind if GTK examines the existing file causing the
collision).

What was annoying was having the "save as" dialogue box still present
several seconds after pressing the "save" button when using a directory
on a local vfat file system with about 500 files in it.

Are there any user configurations that could help alleviate this
problem?

Certainly using as few extensions and plugins as possible would help.

OK, will try trimming them back. I'm not sure how to disable the
Blackdown Java plug-in though. Firefox seems to pick it up from the
~/.mozilla/plugins directory.

Arthur.

Well, then, how about attaching a second usertag: bspclaim or

Right. I've since independently discovered this, and added support
for _netdev in the svn version of sysvinit. So this will be solved in
the next version.

If you want to test this, the current version is available from

Is it a problem that background color is black ?

Bug#382507: console-data: Should we fix these bugs and, if so, how?

2006-09-05 Thread Christian Perrier
These bug report with patches seems to be easy to fix and certainly
all worth it.

#319069 cannot be easily checked but maybe we can trust the bug
submitter blindly

If we decide to fix them, how shouls this be donne in SVN, Alastair ?

trunk/console-data-1.0 has pending fixes to the debian packaging which
I just committed (pending Xhoa translations)

However, these keymap fixes should deserve a new upstream
version. Should this go in a "console-data-1.1" directory?

Bugs that could also be fixed this way:

#385467 (patch easy to make)
#347568 (no patch yet)
#380683 (ditto)
#386212 (ditto)

Do you think that we could do a 'final polish' upload ?

Hmmm, I just tried by myself on my laptop. While I agree for "ç", I
disagree for "r" and "m". They perfectly work when I "loadkeys

the "ç" case is pretty strange, yes. It gives "Ç" when used with Shift
but not when Caps Lock is on.

Bug#386063: [Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#386063: initscripts: unionfs filesystems are mounted before network filesystems

2006-09-05 Thread Sam Hathaway

On Sep 5, 2006, at 2:18 AM, Petter Reinholdtsen wrote:

/etc/init.d/mountall.sh, which runs before /etc/init.d/mountnfs.sh
(S35 vs. S45).

Does it help to flag the uninfs mount point with _netdev, as
documented in mount(8)?

Petter,

_netdev doesn't help. The fstab line is now:

none /media/samtori-media unionfs dirs=/media/tv-media:/home/sam/
MEDIA:/media/g5-media1:/media/g5-media2,_netdev 0 0

but /etc/init.d/mountall.sh still mounts it.

It would be nice to have mountall.sh refrain from mounting unionfs
filesystems, and either do it in mountnfs.sh, or in a separate
mountunionfs.sh script that runs after mountnfs.sh.

I believe the mechanism for this is already in place by using the
_netdev flag. Please let us know if this isn't working.

The responsible line in mountall.sh is:

  mount -a -t noproc,nfs,nfs4,smbfs,cifs,ncp,ncpfs,coda,ocfs2,gfs

or, if $VERBOSE is on:

  mount -a -v -t noproc,nfs,nfs4,smbfs,cifs,ncp,ncpfs,coda,ocfs2,gfs

  Replaces: last, sysvinit (<< 2.86.ds1-15)

in there... I am not sure about the use of the version though...

Well, except that this would be a divergance from Ubuntu, but on the
other hand, there's no reason why the Ubuntu package cannot depend
on sysvutils|sysvinit-utils

Otherwise I agree, sysvinit-utils is better.

Bug#386232: user configuration file

2006-09-05 Thread martin f krafft
Package: pmount
Version: 0.9.13-1
Severity: wishlist

I think a file ~/.pmount, which lists device or alias to option
mapping would be really cool. E.g.

  myalias noatime type=vfat passphrase=~/.priv/mystore.passkey
dev=/dev/disk/by-uuid/dead-beef-babe
  /dev/sda read-only label=archive

so that I can then just say

  pmount myalias

to get access to the crypto-volume under
/dev/disk/by-uuid/dead-beef-babe at /media/myalias

  pmount /dev/sda

to get access to the read-only volume at /media/archive.

If this cannot be done in pmount, it would be trivial to write the
wrapper script for this...

Cheers,

Bug#386229: shfs-source: Build failure with kernel 2.6.18

2006-09-05 Thread Brad Sawatzky
Package: shfs-source

The module source fails to build with kernel 2.6.18 due to a change in the

the minor change.

NOTE: The patch doesn't have any kernel-version ifdefs... Sorry about

Actually, the problem is the preinst script is copying the old
/etc/dhclient.conf to /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf before dhcp-client is
removed, and then dpkg gets all upset about conffiles changing. There is no
/etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf in the dhcp-client package.

Yes, this is clearly suboptimal. I think it is safe to move this
configuration carry-forward activity to the postinst script, as apt-get (and
I presume aptitude, but I'll test it) will only remove and not purge
packages to satisfy conflicts, so the old /etc/dhclient.conf should still be
available to copy at postinst time.

Andrew

Scott, why does sysvinit pre-depend on sysvutils? How did you work
around this problem?

- Forwarded message from Petter Reinholdtsen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -

I did some more testing, trying to upgrade the package using 'dpkg
-i', and ran into serious problems. It refuses to upgrade because
sysvinit pre-depend on sysvutils, which include a file already in the
old/existing sysvinit. I suspect the pre-depend is the problem. I am
not sure exacly how to fix this, and am removing the patch from svn
while we look into this issue a bit more.

Bug#386228: libgcj7-0 (and by extension libgcj7) packaged such that conflicts are inevitable

2006-09-05 Thread Don Armstrong
Package: libgcj7-0
Severity: important
Version: 4.1.1-13

libgcj7-0 (and by extension libgcj7) are packaged such that any soname
increment will result in the old versions of libgcj no longer being
installable unless the gcj version is also incremented.

First:

usr/share/doc/gcj-4.1-base/NEWS.gz
libs/libgcj7,libs/libgcj7-0
usr/share/doc/gcj-4.1-base/README
libs/libgcj7,libs/libgcj7-0
usr/share/doc/gcj-4.1-base/THANKS.gz
libs/libgcj7,libs/libgcj7-0

should be stuck in the gcj-4.1-base package (or renamed to include the
soname if they really must be in the library package)

Second:

usr/lib/gcj-4.1/libgjsmalsa.la
libs/libgcj7,libs/libgcj7-0

should (most likely) be in libgcj7-dev instead since it's only any use
when you're using libtool to link.

Bug#382376: Status and plans for Cyrus 2.3 and 2 unrelated notes

2006-09-05 Thread Benjamin Seidenberg
[ To save effort for the reader, lets start with unrelated notes:
Note 1: I think it's about time to release -7, as we have a large number
of pending bugs. Whoever releases it, please fix the cyrus2.3 changelog
accordingly.
Note 2: I have been back (though I forgot to mention it) from my
Semi-Vac mentioned in
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for a while. I
am all settled into college, and am currently using Cyrus work as an
excuse to avoid my Lasers and Photonics homework. Do be advised I have
joined CU AUV (www.cuauv.org) and may have less free time, but we'll see. ]

Now for something completely different.

I've been working on the Cyrus 2.3 packages that Farzad provided. They
are currently in build able shape, but need some more work still. Here
is my thoughts on the steps to 2.3 release.

1.) Finish packaging work - Several items
1a) Review the diff of debian/ between 2.2 and 2.3. I merged in
Farzad's packages without reviewing the complete diff and this needs to
be done prior to release.
1b) *NOT ME* Someone who knows it (*Cough* Sven *Cough*) has to fix
the idle method selection patch to work with 2.3. It'd be nice to submit
it upstream this time. Also, the kolab patch needs to be reviewed, I
think we applied it (41- I believe)
1c) *ALSO NOT ME* - Review all the stuff I did in the past few
commits to make sure I didn't fuck up. Pay special attention to the POT
handling.
1d) I know I'm forgetting something, so I'll leave space for it here.
1e) Actually, I'm sure there is more than one thing I'm forgetting.

2.) Upload to new queue for experimental. At this time mark the bug as
pending. I'll consider this one a race between our team and elmo. We'll
see whether my account gets created before or after the first package
ready for experimental. My money is on the team.

2.5) Make sure fixed-in-experimental tag gets applied to that bug once
it gets in.

3.) Maintain 2.3 package in experimental until upstream considers it stable.

4.) Once it's stable, release to unstable. This is the 2nd race. This
time, I'm actually betting on elmo, though it's a tough decision.

5.) ???

6.) PROFIT!

Benjamin

Bug#386226: linux-image-2.6.16-2-686-smp: Will not set clock and loses interrupts when rtc is used

2006-09-05 Thread Joshua Kugler
Package: linux-image-2.6.16-2-686-smp
Version: 2.6.16-18
Severity: important

During boot on my Etch machine (Dell PowerEdge 830 with an Intel Pentium D CPU
2.80GHz, kernel 2.6.16-2-686-smp), there is a message about select() timing out
on /dev/rtc. That message displays twice, a few more messages, then there is a
message about "trying to set the system clock again." I've looked through the
syslog and dmesg, and these messages are not in there. Or else I'd post the
exact messages. :)

Ah, a google search found the exact message for me:
select to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out

But no solution.

That leads to this: When I start up VMWare server, I start getting these
messages in the syslog:

Since VMWare is the only app at the moment that uses the RTC, during its
execution is the only time I get those error messages.

Someone on the VMWare Forum suggested adding 'nohpet' to the kernel boot
parameters, but that did not fix anything.

In another bug report (#283524) Laurent Bonnaud suggested trying the genrtc
module, but putting that in modules conf in place of rtc did not seem to fix
anything.

I also tried acpi=no on the kernel boot command line.

So far, nothing has helped.

Package: spca5xx-source
Version: 20060501-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Some v4l header information got shuffled around in kernel 2.6.18. The
attached patch updates spca5xx.h to include media/v4l2-common.h. Seems
to work after that.

You may want to check to see if the v4l changes came in during 2.6.17 and
update the patch accordingly.

But then we'll have two addresses in use already, which means two

Bug#386224: type-punning warnings

2006-09-05 Thread dean gaudet
Package: bind9
Version: 9.3.2-2.1

there's several type-punning warnings while building bind9 9.3.2-2.1... i
don't know if these are bugs or not, but it's probably best to add
-fno-strict-aliasing to CFLAGS until upstream deals with them (otherwise
there could be some subtle hard to discover bugs)... maybe these are fixed
in 9.3.3 or 9.4.x.

libpng12-dev, libtiff4-dev, libungif4-dev, flex,

libxaw7-dev: Conflicts: libxaw6-dev but 1:1.0.2-4 is to be installed

Removing libxaw6-dev dependency made it build, trivial patch attached.

Bug#386195: svn import via http fails

2006-09-05 Thread Peter Samuelson

[Chris Snyder]
> Import (result of svn add or svn import) fails consistently, but only
> on some files.

So, both client and server are blaming _each other_ for breaking the
connection. (That is what "Connection reset by peer" means.) This
indicates that it is quite likely caused by something that lives in
between the client and the server - a transparent HTTP proxy, a
firewall, a NAT router, something like that.

Can you try to determine whether you have any such devices on your
network? (Note, if it's a transparent HTTP proxy provided by a third
party such as an ISP, it may not be easy to detect.)

Upstream developer Danny Berlin agrees that problem appears to be
something "in the network".

Thanks,
Peter

You say Debian, then you say Ubuntu, which are you talking about?

Setting up a test page would of course be helpful.

Bug#307329: Further context

2006-09-05 Thread Nishanth Aravamudan
I forgot to mention that after the dist-upgrade, PAM was definitely
unhappy with its configuration. It took us about an hour to get the
setup back to what it was before, configuration wise, but sudo seems to
be affected. Perhaps it is a PAM issue?

I'm willing to do a purge and reinstall, if need be, to see if that is
the case.

Thanks,
Nish

Bug#386219: there must be way to open web pages that send invalid MIME info

2006-09-05 Thread Rafal Maj
Package: konqueror
Version: 3.5.4-2
Severity: normal

Some brain-dead web serwer send their sites with incorrect MIME
information, and konqueror offers to download the page or open it in
Kate (instead displaying it)

While this is a fine approach to broken sites, I think it would be best
if Konqueror would also introduce "View that broken document as a page"
key.

It will allow to use the page if it is mendatory (for example Symlink
router www admin page is broken in such way), yet it will still inform
the user about the fact that page is broken. Perhaps a small link to
help document describing the problem and/or suggestion to contact page
admin/webmaster.

xserver-xorg-video-i810 at version 1:1.5.1.0-2

Exactly the same message about I830DRIRec not matching size. I'm assuming the
library is a newer version than when the bug was reported, as the original

upstream.
FWIW, 6.5.0.cvs.20060524-1 from experimental fixed this problem for me.

Bug#385359: Still not completely solved?

2006-09-05 Thread Martin Stigge
Hi again...

I just noticed that the GUI (multisync0.9) is now able to choose
syncml-http-server and syncml-obex-client as plugins, however it's not
possible to configure them via the GUI, because while pressing the
"Options..." button, you get:

opening syncml-http-server plugin
Unable to find MSyncPlugin (syncml-http-server)!!!

But this could be a different and unrelated bug...

Thanks for considering!

Bug#385359: Debug-Information and workaround

2006-09-05 Thread Martin Stigge
Hi!

Here is some debug information:

$ OSYNC_DEBUG=5 msynctool --listplugins
[OSPLG] ERROR: Unable to load
plugin /usr/lib/opensync/plugins/syncml_plugin.so: Unable to open
module /usr/lib/opensync/plugins/syncml_plugin.so: /usr/lib/libsyncml.so.0:
undefined symbol: wbxml_conv_xml2wbxml
Available plugins:
evo2-sync
file-sync

So it seems this is a bug in libsyncml? After rebuilding the libsyncml
and installing it, the problem vanishes:

$ msynctool --listplugins
Available plugins:
syncml-http-server
syncml-obex-client
evo2-sync
file-sync

I had libwbxml2-dev 0.9.2 installed when building my new libsyncml, but
0.9.0dfsg was used when libsyncml from the archive was built. Maybe this
has something to do with it? (Just guessing...)

Regards,
Martin Stigge

It won't ever decrease, once memory is allocated to a process it is
never reclaimed. It should stabilize though, does it?

I have no idea why the save link as is slow, but that may have more to
do with GTK then firefox.

Certainly using as few extensions and plugins as possible would help.

I can reproduce this bug on a system dist-upgraded from sarge to etch

segfaults.

Bug#386215: abook: support for BSD calendar export filter

2006-09-05 Thread Guillem Jover
Package: abook
Version: 0.6.0~pre1-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

I've migrated to abook now, thanks for this version in experimental.
The only "big" feature I was missing is being able to export to BSD
calendar format (as I told you already on my feedback mail). Now that
the date type is implemented, adding this was quite easy. So attached
is a patch to do that. The name of the filter maybe it's not the best,
but could not come with anything else, that was clear and short.

If I can discover if this is indeed a kernel-package bug, I
might consider it. I am not sure how it could be; since the makefile
interpolates the image name into the postinst -- so a mismatch seems
 impossible, at first glance.

Can one get /var/lib/dpkg/info/kernel-image-2.4.27-xxs1500.postinst?
Also, what version of kernel-package was used?

Bug#386213: gksu: Could not connect to database

2006-09-05 Thread kike
Package: gksu
Version: 1.9.4-1
Severity: normal

After trying to install gforge gksu authentication begins to fail.
I've seen that the problem comes specificly from gforge-shell-postgresql, which
depends on libnss-pgsql1 which on it's side depends on libpam-pgsql.
This causes somekind of interference because the message

"Failed to communicate with gksu-run-helper.
Received: Could not connect to database
While expecting: gksu: waiting"

appears when trying to execute synaptic as non root, as an example.
When you run from command line 'gksu' you get "Could not connect to database"
and then the dialog opens.

Bug#43594: Is this fixed?

Uh. Been a while. :)

Sorry, I don't think I'll use this package ever again, and the problem I had
reported was apparently pretty much unreproducible to begin with, so yes, I
think you can close the bug.

7 years... it has already completed first grade at school. :)

Bug#386210: dpkg: [DPKG][SEGV] crash when file removed before installation begins

2006-09-05 Thread Justin Pryzby
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.13.21
Severity: normal

I did an apt-get -d dist-upgrade, then an apt-get install foo bar

/var/cache/apt/archives). dpkg had started installing foo, but not
bar. I removed from /v/c/a/a/ the largest .debs, which included both
foo and bar (the reason I was installing them, in fact). When dpkg
finished unpacking foo, and tried to unpack bar, it apparently
crashed:

Subject: hal: Does not detect SD card any more

I plugged my SD card today and it hasn't been mounted. I'm sure it worked a
week or two before, so I think it's caused by the last update, but since I
have no idea where to find the old package, I can't tell for sure. Anyway, the

Bug#386209: qemu: NE driver has bogus ne2000_can_receive() function

2006-09-05 Thread Samuel Thibault
Package: qemu
Version: 0.8.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

Somethings seems odd in 0.8.1-1's ne2000_can_receive():

static int ne2000_can_receive(void *opaque)
{
NE2000State *s = opaque;

if (s->cmd & E8390_STOP)
return 1;
return !ne2000_buffer_full(s);
}

If the command is STOP, shouldn't can_receive rather return 0?! (just
like it did in version 0.8.0-3). Here is a patch.

Bug#375589: maildrop: please add option to specify $HOME and circumvent maildrop's lookup

Josip Rodin writes:

Hi,

This is a request I'm forwarding which also relates to the latest issue with
-d using courier-authlib. If we had another option for $HOME, that would
probably fix everything for those people who want it.

I noticed that:

This option is reserved for use by the version of maildrop that
comes integrated with the Courier mail server.

Perhaps -H?

-D is only available in the version of maildrop that's compiled in the
Courier package, and is not enabled in the standalone version of maildrop.

These options carry certain security implications that I am not comfortable
with. If you know what you're doing, you can easily patch maildrop
yourself, but I don't want to accept the onus of something like this on my
shoulders, and end up wearing egg on my face.

Package: maildrop

I want to call maildrop from postfix, and due to the complex setup,
I just want to pass $HOME to maildrop for virtual users and let it
do its thing. However, the only way to specify a destination seems
to be -d.

How about a -D option taking a $HOME directory, and maildrop then
delivering according to $HOME/.mailfilter?

I can confirm that the filenames encoding is iso8859-15.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] implies iso8859-15, like what is specified in the intial bug
report:
Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15)

Bug#386207: Please improve documentation

2006-09-05 Thread Andras Korn
Package: pound
Version: 2.0-1
Severity: minor

Hi,

currently, the documentation doesn't say what syntax is supported when
specifying URL patterns. Based on the examples, it's a subset of POSIX
regular expressions, but ^ and $ don't seem to work. It would be nice if
extended regular expressions were properly supported, or, failing that, the
documentation would at least say what is supposed to work and what isn't.

Specifically, I tried

CheckURL "^/foo($|/)"

But this didn't have the anticipated effect (/foo and /foo/ were equally
refused).

Also, under the "Service" heading, the man page says:

   URL "pattern"
Match the incoming request. If a request fails to match than
this service will be skipped and next one tried. If all
services fail to match Pound returns an error. You may define
multiple URL conditions per service. If no URL was defined
  then all requests match.

It's not clear whether multiple URL conditions are evaluated in an AND or an
OR manner, i.e. whether all must match or only one.

Thanks, we're getting closer. Can you please do the same thing again and
when it has crashed type "print *style" then if it's not NULL "print
style->font"?

style->font or style->font->type should be NULL. If it is, then we have
found the culprit and we can start investigating. It it's not then I'm
stuck.

Thanks,

Thomas

Bug#386204: Please consider enabling the Speex audio codec

2006-09-05 Thread Viktor Horvath
Package: vlc
Version: 0.8.6-svn20060823.debian-3
Severity: wishlist

Debian's vlc has no Speex support compiled in which is a pity,
considering that Speex is a really-free audio codec and used by
free software people in combination with Theora. Would be nice
if Debian's players could play such movies (or Speex audiobooks).

Unfortunately, you haven't shown your configuration file yet.
I suspect you're using a wildcarded multidrop configuration.

Here is my /etc/fetchmailrc:

#Old mail server

#current ISP server
poll mail.broadpark.no protocol POP3
user there has password , is

Perhaps this setup isn't the smartest?
Still, it'd be nice if fetchmail would delete successfully delivered
messages

when exim goes sour. That would at least avoid message multiplication,
although I would probably not get any mail through if all the x first
messages are bad. That'd be a exim problem though, not a fetchmail fault.

Looks like I solved the problem by making exim accept 100 bad messages
instead of just 4 before giving up. Still a DOS waiting to happen.

Hi Julien,

Yes, it you need irb for console. That's why rails Recommends irb.

Recommends: irb (>> 1.8)

Aptitude and dselect should automatically install these, but it is not
required as you can run your application without it.

- Adam

PS. irb is the interactive ruby and it is very useful for development. I
use it all the time by just typing `irb`.

Firefox isn't expected to load the Help, it needs to be loaded in Yelp

You may find that deleting this yelp file will solve your problem.
Alternatively, try loading yelp directly and seeing if the bookmarks are
usable.

Hello,

pilot-link 0.12.0 is now stable and available. The Debian package is
available from experimental. Before uploading it to unstable and replace
libpisock8 by libpisock9 I try to recompile every package using

Bug#383690: Latest update breaks ntp

2006-09-05 Thread Rick Thomas

Hi Daniel,

Here's a strange one! I assume a bug-report is appropriate, and I'll
make one, but I'll need your help in figuring out which package to
report it against...

I have a machine ("darkstar") running etch, which I use for testing
debian installer things. I did an "aptitude update ; aptitude
upgrade" before leaving for the 3-day weekend. When I returned
today, Tuesday, I tried to do the same thing, to pick up any changes
that happened over the weekend.

The Tuesday "aptitude upgrade" told me that a whole bunch of packages
were being kept back (as well as the usual flock that wanted to be
upgraded; etch is testing after all). I aborted to think about
things. After thinking, I allowed it to proceed and it updated what
it could. But it still had a bunch of packages being kept back. I
tried "aptitude dist-upgrade" just to see what it would propose, but
aborted before letting it have its way, because it wanted to delete a
bunch of stuff that looked like I wouldn't be happy if they were
deleted. It claimed a number of things were broken as well.

I managed to save all of this in a typescript, which is attached.
I'll leave the machine unchanged for a while, if you want me to run
any tests or retrieve any log files.

Any advice on where to send the bug-report will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Rick

Bug#250471: still missing eth1 on Sparc64

After install, with kernel 2.6.16-2-sparc64,
is only the onboard NIC, eth0, visible.
(FYI: during install was the onboard NIC eth1)

eth1 is still missing.

Digging deeper showed that the onboard NIC is eth0
and the Via-rhine is eth1, for both are modules loaded.
Which means that both NICs are detected.

Doing a reboot revealed
changing net interface name eth1_temp to eth0: timeout

Connecting a serial cable and appending 'console=ttyS0,9600'
provided better information:

I think it is now the interface renaming stuff in d-i that prevents eth1.

Yes. Everything is fixed in our subversion repository and ready to
release. I'm currently waiting for some translation updates due to
some other changes which are also going into the new 1.0.2 release.

I will be releasing and uploading it this coming weekend, whether or
not the translation updates are done by then (they can be easily be
added later).

Roger

You should talk with your upstream author. I see that a new version 2.0.13 is
available. Maybe the build failure is fixed with this version.
