Bug#412053: iceweasel: freezes while inputting something in search toolbox

2007-02-22 Thread Kato Kimikazu

Package: iceweasel
Version: 2.0.0.1+dfsg-4
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***
iceweasel sometimes freezes while typing something in the search toolbox (which
appears in the toolbar). It freezes with the window manager. This means when
the symptom appears, I cannot touch anything in screen. The mouse pointer moves
but nothing happens with a click. If you kill iceweasel by swiching terminal by
Alt+Ctrl+F1, it recovers.

It does not always happen and it is difficult to reproduce it on purpose. But
it often happens; a few times a day in my experience.

Can you show me any error messages or better a complete logfile (use "script")
of your attempt to install mysql-server-5.0 so that I can get a hint what may
be wrong? As nobody else reported erros it's probably something specific to your
system.

bye,

Please post the error messages that you got when you tried to install.
If you no longer have them, please send the output of

dpkg -l mysql-server-5.0
dpkg --configure -a

Bug#412051: a geometry specifyer for x11vnc

2007-02-22 Thread Tim Connors
Package: x11vnc
Version: 0.8.2-1
Severity: wishlist

It would be great if you could supply a -geometry specification to
x11vnc so that it only grabs the specified part of the frame buffer.

Useful for networked software xinerama! (actually, as frivolous as
that appears, I'm being serious here -- I have a xinerama display at
work, and can currently only look at a 1:1 scale view of the left hand
screen, or a 1:2 scale view of both screens. But I have 2 computers
on my desk at home. If one of them could look at the left screen, and
the other could look at the right screen, wahey!)

While translating the po-debconf templates I noticed a couple of
capitalization inconsistencies as well as an error. Please apply the
attached patch to the slimserver.templates file. This does not affect
the German translation. Please unfuzzy de.po after running
debconf-updatepo.

Bug#412048: /var/cache/flashplugin-nonfree is not shipped nor created

Additionally: You seem to miss to create /var/cache/flashplugin-nonfree.
You do not create in a postinst script nor is it shipped with the
package. So the mv command fails. Please add it.

Bug#412048: config script should not move files around, prints nasty messages

2007-02-22 Thread Joey Hess
Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 9.0.31.0.2
Severity: normal

The config script is intended to be used to ask questions with debconf.
It is always wrong to use this script to modify the filesystem.

Seen during upgrade:

Preconfiguring packages ...
mv: cannot move
`/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree-unpackdir/FP9_plugin_beta_112006.tar.gz' to
`/var/cache/flashplugin-nonfree/FP9_plugin_beta_112006.tar.gz': No such file or
directory
mv: cannot move
`/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree-unpackdir/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz' to
`/var/cache/flashplugin-nonfree/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz': No such
file or directory

Please fix it not to do this. The mv commands do not belong in it at all.
The directory it's trying to move files to does not exist at preconfiguration
time, as the package is not unpacked.

Bug#412047: swf-player: should be updated for iceape/iceweasel

2007-02-22 Thread Ben Hutchings
When I made my change to linking I forgot to change the plugin
directories. However, the plugin does work in both iceape and
iceweasel. This is because iceape looks
in /usr/lib/{mozilla,iceape}/plugins and iceweasel looks
in /usr/lib/{mozilla-firefox,iceweasel}/plugins. (Steve was mistaken
about iceweasel looking in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.) The failure to
load earlier versions of the plugin in these browsers can be explained
entirely by the erroneous linking against xulrunner libraries.

I anticipate that iceape and iceweasel will eventually stop looking in
the old directories, so swfdec's installation directories should be
changed eventually, but this is not a serious bug now.

Ben.

Can you add the linke 'Load "vm86"' to your modules section and let us know

Bug#412041: libmail-gnupg-perl: encryption methods behave weirdly if bad recipients are passed

2007-02-22 Thread Celejar
Package: libmail-gnupg-perl
Version: 0.08-2
Severity: normal

All four of the encryption methods behave strangely and inconsistently
when passed recipients for which gpg can't find public keys. gpg itself
consistently returns: 'gpg: error reading key: public key not found'.
The Mail::GnuPG encryption methods sometimes behave correctly, returning a
non-zero status code, with $self->{last_message} containing:

gpg: recipient: skipped: public key not found
gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: public key not found

where 'recipient' is the unmatched recipient.

But sometimes, the program just dies without any explanation, dropping
unceremoniously to a command prompt. This occurs even when running under
rhe debugger; the debugger itself just terminates with no explanation.

The following simple program exhibits the aforementioned behavior:

---Begin Program---

#! /usr/bin/perl -w

use strict;

use MIME::Parser;
use Mail::GnuPG;

my $msg = MIME::Entity->build(Subject => 'Test', From => '[EMAIL PROTECTED]',
To => '[EMAIL PROTECTED]', Data => "Some text.\nSome more text.\n");
my $mg = new Mail::GnuPG;
my $status = $mg->mime_encrypt($msg, '[EMAIL PROTECTED]');
!$status or die "@{$mg->{last_message}}\n";
print "Message successfully encrypted.\n";

---End Program---

When I run this repeatedly in succession, sometimes I get the above
'gpg: ...' error lines, and sometimes the program just terminates with
no output. The 'print' line is never reached.

I'm just a perl newbie, but this behavior can't be right; surely the
methods should consistently return an error code and not just silently
terminate.

Well I used to have all this hardware and used the module a lot since then.

I hope all card are working well now. I have at least a rt2500 and a rt2570.

I don't know much on module packaging, but have done one package yet not
official and would be interested in helping on this package if help is still

Package is ready and working, but since this was a Debian native package and
I'm not the original author, I'm creating a SourceForge project for mailcheck.
And since the name mailcheck at SF was previously reserved but never utilized,
I've applied to take the name over. Still waiting on this final approval from
SF and then will upload a final package.

2007-02-22 Thread Anibal Avelar

I have the real solution for this bug. I had the same problem under
Xorg (7.1) in Debian Unstable.

The problem is not the Xserver, the problem is the Shared Memory Availaible.

With the command

ipcs -m

you can see how much shared memory you are using. If you have many
applications using shared memory the Xserver (xorg or xfree86) won't
up.

You can play with the parameters (increasing)

kernel.shmmax
kernel.shmmni
kernel.shmall

in /etc/sysctl.cnf

I don't know what are the optimal values, depends of each system.

Regards

Hi,

when I look for license.terms in the package, I see this:

usage and redistribution
utils/base64/base64.tcl:# See the file "license.terms" for information on usage

Tcl-license terms.
utils/http2.4/http.tcl:# See the file "license.terms" for information on usage
and

And when I have a look at utils/BWidget-1.7.0/LICENSE.txt as suggested
by the grep results, I actually find the terms of the Tcl license as
stated in Philippe's link.

Thus, the terms are in the package, but not explicitely.

Is it necessary to create a license.terms file here and put it in
/usr/share/doc/amsn for instance?
Isn't is sufficient to ask upstream to correct this in a later release?
Is it worth mentioning in README.Debian?

Bug#411113: ogre: FTBFS: cannot allocate an object of abstract type 'CEGUI::OgreCEGUITexture'

2007-02-22 Thread Ben Hutchings
reassign 43 cegui-mk2
thanks

This bug is a result of a change between cegui-mk2 0.4 and 0.5

which is both source- and binary-incompatible. No doubt there are
others. Such incompatible changes should result in a change of library
version (both soname and library package name). However, library
transitions are banned during a freeze, so version 0.5 should not have
been uploaded at all.

I believe it may be possible to undo the damage by uploading the
previous version with the epoch bumped so that it still counts as newer.
However, I am no expert in this.

Ben.

Bug#412036: "Newer version 0.96 available for download" window annoyance at startup

2007-02-22 Thread Daniel
Package: amsn
Version: 0.95+dfsg2-0.2

Every time amsn starts a window with the title "Newer version 0.96

Regardless of whether one clicks "Don't ask update again for one week"
or not it always comes up at startup.

The other problem with this is that if you were to follow the advice of
this popup and go to the aMSN homepage to get a newer version, you would
be bypassing the Debian version which is not recommended to do.

I will probably try to get 1.7.2 in Debian in the next weeks (it is about to
be released). As for Etch, it will ship with the HPLIP in Etch, too many
changes, and it is in freeze.

Thanks for the detailed bug report and the patch. I've forwarded it to MySQL.

Their first question is usually if there already is a test case which can
be used to verify the problem and later that the patch actually solves it.
Do you have such a test case?

Bug#412035: xchat-gnome should include a gconf schema for url-handlers

This is probably just an upstream request, but I think that xchat-gnome,
being a Gnome app, should include a gconf schema for setting xchat-gnome
as the default url-handler for irc. There may be other gconf settings
that should be considered, but this is just the one that I happened to
think of when I clicked on an irc:// link and nothing happened.

Package: xserver-xorg

When i set "radeon" or "ati" as driver for my Radeon 9550SE i just get a black
screen wenn starting X. There is no error to find in the Xorg.0.log and
when i set "vesa" as driver it works.
I don't know if that matters, but when i was using XFree86 i had the same
problem with a 2.4.6 kernel but not with a 2.6.8 (using the same version of
XFree86).
Now i'm using Debian Etch and a 2.6.18 kernel.

Bug#412033: PTS: extremely noisy when new package closes many bugs

2007-02-22 Thread era eriksson
Package: qa.debian.org
X-Debbugs-Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I am subscribed to some packages via the PTS. For example, I receive
copies of all messages related to the twiki package.

Now, recently, twiki has gone through a number of update cycles where a
lot of bugs have been closed.

Version 1:4.0.5-9.1 which was uploaded Tuesday this week closed 12 open
bugs.

Guess twice how many copies of the following message I have received?

From: Debian Bug Tracking System <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: Christian Perrier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: Bug#xx: marked as done (bug title)

I can understand the motivation for detailed reporting to the package
owner and the bug submitter, but I think for the majority of PTS
subscribers just the upload notice would suffice.

(Tangentially, see also #340863)

If

tries to explain how to fix this if you don't like the defaults, then I
don't understand it, and in any event, does the current default really
make sense?

(Opting out from bts-control sounds like it might work, but then do you
lose other less predictable messages, too?)

I think that may be a reasonable thing to do here. This test is trying
to check that "pwd" can read very long paths, specifically 256 levels of
directories below the test's current directory. The error message
indicates that it is failing after going 265 levels up (i.e. outside of
the build directory, closer to the root).

The error seems to suggest that lstat() failed, though none of the
documented reasons for failure seem plausible. Another possibility is
that the filesystem on the buildd is corrupt and one ".." link does not
point to the correct directory. (Lack of read permission on a directory
is another possibility I thought of, but that results in a different
error message.)

Bug#412032: qemu doesn't handle setuid programs correctly

2007-02-22 Thread Stuart R. Anderson
Package: qemu
Version: 0.9.0-1netsweng2
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

When working in an environment similar to
http://wiki.debian.org/QemuUserEmulation
setuid programs such as /bin/su don't work correctly. This can be fixed by
making
the (statically linked) qemu be setuid, and applying the attached patch. The
patch
is needed so that the real and effective uid are manged correctly.

Without it, "su - someuser" will give a shell in which the real and effective
uids
are "someuser", but when running a command from that shell, such as
/usr/bin/id, the
real uid for that command is "someuser", but the effective uid is "root"
(becasue
of the setuid of the qemu executable). This patch causes qemu to change it's
effective
uid to match the real uid in the case where the target executable is not
setuid. This
is just an else clause for the clock that changes the uid to match the uid on a
setuid
target executable.

This fix was created on the 0.9.0 package from experimental, but the code is
that same
in 0.8.2, so the patch should be equally applicable there as well.

I attached a new patch against the version in unstable which contains

but the current patch improves the file definitively.

At the beginning of the patch I also noticed two or three typos in English

The new HP release seems to fix this bug (see point 40 of the release
notes at http://hplip.sourceforge.net/release_notes.html)

Note that I haven't tested the tarball from HPLIP homepage, but if

I think it would be great to have this release uploaded to Debian as

Bug#412031: sylpheed-claws-gtk2: Filter conversion scripts are missing

2007-02-22 Thread Norbert Buchmuller
Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2
Version: 2.6.0-1
Severity: important

Sylpheed Claws stores its filter settings in a different format than
that of (plain) Sylpheed. The Claws 2 source tree contains a 'tools'
directory with many useful scripts, two of them can convert the filter
settings from the old format (filterrc - filter_conv.pl) and from the
new format (filter.xml - filter_conv_new.pl). The Sylpheed version in
Sarge already used the new format.xml). The conversion script for the
old format can be found in the sylpheed-claws-scripts package, but
unfortunately there's no conversion script for the new format in any
package in Etch.

That's a problem for users upgrading from Sylpheed in Sarge (like me).
(BTW, I think that it would be useful to display some debconf warning
page about the filter format incompatibility and the way to convert
the filters.)

Supposed solution: Creating a sylpheed-claws-gtk2-scripts package, that
contains the scripts from the 'tools' directory. If it's too late now,
then maybe including these scripts in the sylpheed-claws-gtk2 package.

Best regards,

norbi

This bug is not so easy to debug if you have to win the game to trigger

Bug#412021: grub fails to cope with '/boot' on different partition to '/'

2007-02-22 Thread Jason Thomas
Your changing (hd0,?) in the wrong place. Look a little higher up in
the menu.lst file.

The entries you are changing are regenerated every time update-grub is
run.

Bug#412030: Packaging mistakes

2007-02-22 Thread Adrien Cunin
Package: gnomoradio
Version: 0.15.1-5
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi,
I have fixed in Ubuntu some packaging mistakes, see the patch at
http://patches.ubuntu.com/g/gnomoradio/gnomoradio_0.15.1-5ubuntu1.patch

  * debian/control: libroboradio0c2, librainbow0c2: don't depend anymore
on
gnomoradio to avoid circular dependencies
  * debian/gnomoradio.install: fixed to correctly install the .desktop file and
the icons (LP: #86711)
  * debian/gnomoradio.desktop: dropped, upstream already provides it
  * debian/rules:
 - Removed the debian/gnomoradio.desktop install
 - Removed the strange hack to install upstream changelog, just use
   dh_installchangelogs NEWS

Bug#410481: Fw: Re: [multitail] upcoming 4.3.1 - anyone missing anything new? fixes, new functionality

2007-02-22 Thread Folkert van Heusden
I think we can close this one: the regexp is not correct.
If I try the regexp from the bugreport with an example string from the
bugreport I get no match:

0 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ echo "-xx-xx xx:xx fooo" | egrep
'^-..-.. ..:.. <([[:alnum:]\-_\^]+)>'
1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

notice the '1' before my prompt: that's the returncode of the last
invoked command. so egrep explicitly says it has no match

Bug#411652: closed by John Goerzen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Bug#411652: fixed in bacula 1.38.11-8)

2007-02-22 Thread nb
Hi,

It still doesn't work for me. Take a look at this :

colibri:~# apt-get install bacula-common bacula-sd
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  bacula-sd: PreDepends: bacula-common (= 1.38.11-7+b1) but 1.38.11-8 is
to be installed
E: Broken packages
colibri:~#

Maybe it's because I'm using i386 architecture...

Bug#412027: svnmailer: "diffs stripped" MIME part has incorrect Content-Disposition

2007-02-22 Thread Wesley J. Landaker
Package: svnmailer
Version: 1.0.8-7
Severity: normal

When diff's are stripped, there is a message indicating that fact;
unfortunately, that MIME part has the wrong Content-Disposition.

e.g.:

--=_NextPart_000_3FECF7_01C756CC.663BFE97
Content-Type: text/plain;
  charset="utf-8"
Content-Disposition: attachment
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Wy4uLiAxIGRpZmZzIHN0cmlwcGVkIC4uLl0NCg==

--=_NextPart_000_3FECF7_01C756CC.663BFE97--

This should actually be:

--=_NextPart_000_3FECF7_01C756CC.663BFE97
Content-Type: text/plain;
  charset="utf-8"
Content-Disposition: inline
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Wy4uLiAxIGRpZmZzIHN0cmlwcGVkIC4uLl0NCg==

--=_NextPart_000_3FECF7_01C756CC.663BFE97--

This only requires a trivial fix.

Openoffice Writer shows the dots in a table of contents in slightly

When printing, the distances remain the same, so this is not only a
display problem.

Thank you for the pointer.
I tested it and could send a mail from my Palm IIIc via PC and KMail

The Popmail-Conduit should add a proper date line, otherwise it would be
displayed on recipient side not in the right order.

Another point is the addidtional signature sign "-- " automaticly added by
Popmail-Conduit after mail body. Please let it work like KMail does and keep it
in users responsibility to put such a sign into his signature file.
This has the benefit to put a greeting footer on top of the signature file.

Best regards,

Erik

It would be really nice to have such functionality to read received
emails after a sync on the way.

Bug#412026: libode0c2: due to API change in 0.7 please provide >= in shlibs

2007-02-22 Thread Yaroslav Halchenko
Package: libode0c2
Version: 1:0.5-5
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

I was updating python-pyode package which depends on libode. Due to
introduction of new function in libode 0.7 I had to assure that Depends
have >= 0.7-1 (via debian/shlibs.local).

Per Debian Library Packaging guide
http://www.netfort.gr.jp/~dancer/column/libpkg-guide/libpkg-guide.html#changesandeffectstable

!For example, when a new function symbol is introduced and existing
!symbols are not modified, it is a backward-compatible change. Old
!programs linked to the library will work with the new library. New
!programs compiled against the new library will not work with the old
!library, so this needs to be noted in the shared library dependency.
![11]  This is the case where one would use dh_makeshlibs -V option;
!adding a (>= VERSION) relationship. [12]

Sorry that I am filing bug report from non-experimental box ;-)

Bug#332231: Backport of ipt_recent.c

2007-02-22 Thread Martin Wilck
Hi,

I ran into the same problem and made a backport of ipt_recent.c for
Sarge's 2.6.8. It was actually pretty simple to backport. Attached is
the diff against the ipt_recent.c source file from Philipp's comment of
6 Jul 2006.

The backported module is already running in one of my systems. Works as
expected so far.

I'll be grateful for any feedback.

Martin

Bug#412024: libmysqlclient running in multi-threaded enviroments

2007-02-22 Thread Mariano Santamarina

Package: libmysqlclient15off
Version: 5.0.32-3

Using libmysqlclient in multi-threaded enviroments like java can result in:
#
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#
# SIGILL (0x4) at pc=0x, pid=10933, tid=2877021104
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (Blackdown-1.4.2-03 mixed mode)
# An error report file with more information is saved as
hs_err_pid10933.log

#
# If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:
# http://www.blackdown.org/cgi-bin/jdk
#

After two days finding the bug. i discovered that in the taocrypt
library included in libmysql are calls to signal(...).

In the signal(2) Manual Page. Section NOTES says: "The effects of this
call in a multi-threaded process are unspecified..." (indeed is true)

My modest solution is to relace signal(...) with pthread_sigmask(...)
and sigaction(...)

Attached is the patch

Thanks.
PD: Sorry form my poor english.

If you delete the LVM headers on the partitions, you should be able to
have a "fresh start". You can even use the installer for that: if you
select manual partitioning there will be an option at the top to
configure LVM and that has options to delete LVs and VGs.

libcgi-pm-perl doesn't exist. Did you mean libtemplate-perl? At
least this package contains a CGI.pm file.

Bug#366355: #366355: Bad pixmaps in some cases here, too

2007-02-22 Thread Kevin B. McCarty
Hi,

I was browsing debian-x archives and came across mention of this bug,
and realized I just saw the "garbled pixmap" form of it a few days ago...

Xavier Bestel wrote:

> FWIW I think it's with the X libs in sarge, because I often have

On Friday (I think) I was sitting at an AMD64 workstation running
Debian/etch, logged in with ssh -X to an x86 workstation running
Debian/sarge. Running Thunderbird on the Sarge machine (i.e. X server
on amd64/etch, client on i386/sarge), the Thunderbird icons were all
garbled, as were the displays of any image attachments in the email viewer.

Peculiarly enough, running Firefox over the same connection experienced
no such problems: both web browser images and icons were fine. Also,
double-clicking the attachment icons for attached images in Thunderbird
pops up the images in an ImageMagick "display" window, where they looked
fine also. I didn't try Thunderbird again to see if the problem was
intermittent there.

Unfortunately I am now across the country from both machines in
question, so this email is probably not much more use to you than a "me,
too"... I can send the XF86Config-4 and xorg.conf files for both
machines if that would be of any use.

best regards,

Bug#412021: grub fails to cope with '/boot' on different partition to '/'

2007-02-22 Thread Bernard Boudet
Package: grub
Version: 0.97-23
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

My /boot partition is on /dev/hda11, so in menu.lst it says: root (hd0,11)

update-grub trashes that and resets each case to: root (hd0,0)

This happens whenever a new kernel is installed and it leaves the system
unbootable. My workaround is to manually edit
menu.lst after each time a new kernel is installed and before rebooting.

Bug#408218: somehow losing valid dhcp adress on ethernet interface

2007-02-22 Thread Jon Dowland
I am experiencing this too, at least with 0.6.15-2. To be
more specific, my eth0 has the autoconfiguration address on
boot. There's no evidence of dhclient having been started
in /var/log/daemon.log, however there is a dhclient running:

# ps -eaf|grep dh
root 3309 1 0 19:14 ?00:00:00 dhclient3 -pf
/var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid -lf /var/lib/dhcp3/dhclient.eth0.leases eth0

avahi-daemon utters the following into daemon.log

Feb 21 19:14:30 konishi avahi-daemon[3506]: New relevant interface eth0.IPv4
for mDNS.
Feb 21 19:14:30 konishi avahi-daemon[3506]: Joining mDNS multicast group on
interface eth0.IPv4 with address 192.168.123.171.
Feb 21 19:14:30 konishi avahi-daemon[3506]: Network interface enumeration
completed.
Feb 21 19:14:30 konishi avahi-daemon[3506]: Registering new address record for

Feb 21 19:14:31 konishi avahi-daemon[3506]: Server startup complete. Host name
is konishi.local. Local service cookie is 2983927498.

note that 192.168.123.171 is the IP I usually get from
DHCP.

Hi,

It seems that the new upstream version, atleast v8.60 seems to write an
exif header, but it doesn't seem to contain everything. It atleast has

Bug#412003: FTBFS (alpha): DEFINEMACRO: max. 61 arguments supported, not 1

2007-02-22 Thread Frank B. Brokken
Dear Falk Hueffner, you wrote:
>
> Package: yodl
> Version: 2.10-1

> Justification: no longer builds from source

Brrr... Sounds ominous. Especially since the 2.04a *did* build on Alpha. I
looked at the logs, and did notice some unexpected and possibly serious
warnings, which definitely need some attention. One of the changes implemented
in version 2.10 is the use of size_t rather than unsigned. It looks as though
that's both the cause of the unexpected warnings and the cause of the
execution problem. Actually, yodl builds fine, but then its execution shows
unexpected behavior. E.g., messages like

> std.html.yo:100: DEFINEMACRO: max. 61 arguments supported, not 1

are of course remarkable: if 61 is the maximum number, then 1 should not
qualify for an error, should it?

Now my problem is that as far as I know nobody in my environment uses the
Alpha running Debian Linux. I can ask around, maybe one of my colleagues has
an Alpha. But on the other hand: maybe you could provide me with a (temporary)
account on an Alpha so I can research the problem's cause myself rather than
using a real `man-in-the-middle' who I would constantly have to ask to
perform the next test.

So, thanks for letting me know about this problem. I'll certainly have a look
at it as soon as possible. Depending on me gaining access to an Alpha, the
repair may either come quickly or not as quickly.

Cheers,

Bug#411962: kdebase-bin: evdev driver somehow involved

2007-02-22 Thread Max Dmitrichenko
Package: kdebase-bin
Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6
Followup-For: Bug #411962

I've reproduced this bug on two i386 boxes and one sparc64 box. It appears
only when evdev driver is used while kbd works fine. But it is still not
obvious how the driver inflicts khotkeys. The only fact I can appeal is
that with khotkeys disabled everything "just works" with evdev.

Why I use the evdev driver? It's because it is the only alternative to
get use of all the keys on Sun Type 5 keyboard on 2.6 kernels. Furthermore,
it is the only way to get multi-head work for several users. So, I would
like to get this bug fixed in the release.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: I'm trying to look into the source code. I keep you informed if
I would find something.

The package description reads "GNU cp used to detect files that contain

Is it still with the " can't find decoder for FOURC XVID" ?

If yes, can you run

Does it show half a dozen ffmpeg module ? Or do you have some yellow

vdr does not start until removing the timer from timers.conf.

Maybe (if it's really a bug, not only a mistake on my part) this could be
fixed for the release of sarge?

I guess Recommends: will help a lot as aptitude also installs packages
listed as Recommends:. :)

Seems like I caught the segmentation fault with a strace (at the bottom
of my email). My whole strace is available in [1].

Bug#412013: perforate: zum is a memory hog

2007-02-22 Thread Mike Hommey
Package: perforate
Version: 1.2-5
Severity: important

One of the usefulness of zum would be to make disk/filesystem images
smaller when they contain lots of 0's. The fact is, zum, mmaping 1GB at
a time, it is pretty much useless if you don't have a whole bunch of RAM
to do what qemu-img convert -f raw $in -O raw $out would do without
risking to trigger the OOM killer.

I'd suggest to change the 1<<30 in the source code to something much
smaller.

Mike

Bug#406843: udev: Perms for scsi media changers set for group tape, too.

2007-02-22 Thread Steven Critchfield
I would like to agree that adding that one line is a good thing. I came
about the same conclusion while trying to sort through permisions to let
vmware have access to my tape library.

Bug#383868: Changes?

2007-02-22 Thread Ethan Glasser-Camp
Hi,

What's the status of this bug? The new ODE changes the CCylinder
symbols to Capsule in the .so, so python-soya has other problems with
ode. If OPCODE works on 64-bit architectures, is it possible that new
ode packages can include trimesh support?
