Bug#560781: (require :package) no longer works for CLC-managed packages

2009-12-12 Thread James Y Knight
Package: common-lisp-controller
Version: 6.19

When I upgraded CLC from 6.17 to 6.20, neither
(require 'cffi)
nor
(asdf:oos 'asdf:compile-op :cffi)
work anymore, even though the cl-cffi package is installed.

Looking at the changelog, it seems like this was an intentional change in 6.19,
Make clc only active in clc calls. This should increase the compatibility with
clbuild and friends

But I don't really understand what the intended usage is now? So it's
compatible with clbuild...by not working by itself anymore? I don't get it. Am
I expected to have to explicitly call clc:clc-require now?

I kinda feel like I must be missing something obvious, since nobody else has
reported this bug yet.

If this was intentional, and it is required that I call clc:clc-require, it is
really quite unfortunate, as it means the debian packaged lisp software no
longer works normally like custom-installed asdf packages do...and I'm not
about to change all my locally-installed packages to call clc-require...so this
makes the debian CL-* packages seem basically useless and broken.

At the very least, the documentation needs updating if things are going to stay
this way, since it still says:
 - a user wants to use a system-wide library.
   (asdf:oos 'asdf:compile-op :library)
   will load the system at
   /usr/share/common-lisp/systems/library.asd
that will use the source at
   /usr/share/common-lisp/source/library
   fasls will be placed in
   /var/cache/common-lisp-controller/userid/implementation/library/

And that's not the case

2009-12-12 Thread Lapse of Reason
The changelog for version 3.2h says Worked around block layer
interface breakage on linux-2.6.32-rc kernels., so I would say
there's a good chance that this is fixed in that release. I'll test it
as soon as I have some spare time, feel free to try it yourself in the
meantime.

Bug#560780: nautilus: fstype_override doesn't seem to work any more, breaks ntfs-3g

2009-12-12 Thread Paul Wise
Package: nautilus
Version: 2.28.1-1
Severity: normal

I have the following gconf key set to 'ntfs-3g' and nautilus still
mounts NTFS filesystems with the in-kernel driver, which doesn't yet
have full write support.

/system/storage/default_options/ntfs/mount_options/fstype_override

With earlier versions of nautilus this used to work. I guess this change
may be related to the change to devicekit-disks?

That is a bug in

We will remove defoma support anyway in near future from all our

Odd, so Glib::init invokes thread_init, but only on amd64? The docs
don't suggest this at all. thread_init's documentation shows how to
check whether it's already been called, though, so maybe I can just do
 that.

My impression is that Glib::thread_init() invokes Glib::init() on all arches,
but calling them both is only fatal on certain ones, which does not mean it is
correct to call both Glib::init() and Glib::thread_init() on arches where it
is not fatal. I forgot to clarify that the above patch (which only invokes
Glib:thread_init() ) works for me on x86 too and amd64.

[1] only thread_init() is called, which should be enough:

This has been fixed in 1.15.5.4 and is related to that:

 Applying patch 50-jwmrc--removed-menus.patch

Hunk #2 succeeded at 29 (offset 1 line).

Fuzz is not allowed in patchs in 3.0 (quilt).

Bug#560615: t/99_pmv.t test failure with new Perl::MinimumVersion 1.22

2009-12-12 Thread Salvatore Bonaccorso
Hi

First of all, I agree that this is a failure of build when activating
author tests. We in Debian Perl Group try to activate any test which is
possible to quarantee best quality. During such a rebuild of package for
File::Remove it fails to build. There was an update in
Perl::MinimumVersion:

1.22 Wed 25 Nov 2009
- Negative length in 'splice' requires perl 5.5 (Alexandr Ciornii)
- 'mkdir' with one argument requires perl 5.6 (Alexandr Ciornii)
- 'substr' will not be checked if it is a method name (Alexandr Ciornii)
- better tests and fix for 3-arg 'open' (Alexandr Ciornii)

1.21 Tue 24 Nov 2009
- Add 'bytes' to 5.6 pragma (Alexandr Ciornii)
- Add support for version numbers like v1.1.1 (Alexandr Ciornii)
- Reimplement _three_argument_open, more tests (Alexandr Ciornii)
Now check for 3-arg open is working.
- Check 4-arg substr that requires perl 5.5 (Alexandr Ciornii)
- Postfix foreach requires perl 5.004.05 (Alexandr Ciornii)

Bug#560784: wagon-webdav missing

Package: libwagon-java
Version: 1.0-beta-6-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
in /usr/share/doc/libwagon-java/README.Debian I read that wagon-webdav was not
packaged because, among other things, it depends on some non-free bits
(JackRabbit JCR).

Is JCR distributable in non-free? You could make a separate libwagon-webdav-
java package in contrib :-)

I'd need it for geowebcache, a package I'm preparing (but not ITPed yet).

Thank you,
David

Bug#557199: [Debian-med-packaging] r-cran-epir_0.9-19-1_i386.changes REJECTED

2009-12-12 Thread Charles Plessy
Le Fri, Dec 11, 2009 at 07:29:48PM +, Barry deFreese a écrit :

I am rejecting r-cran-epir for the following reasons:

 * Upstream tarball does not include full copy of GPLv2 license and none of
the headers explicitly indicate a license.

 * doc/epiR.pdf has not corresponding source files to recreate it at build
 time.

 * Also the data/*.Rdata files appear to be binary. I don't know enough about
them to make an iformed decision on if those can be built from source or if
they are in their native format.

Dear Barry, FTP team, and Debian Med team,

doc/epiR.pdf can be generated by the command ’R CMD Rd2pdf r-cran-epir-0.9-22’.

I also looked at the .Rdata files. These are data files in binary format for
testing or example purposes. Each of these datasets are described in the
accompaning documentation, that is reproduced in the PDF file. For instance,
the source of epi.epidural.RData stems from the two following academic
articles:

 * Deeks JJ, Altman DG, Bradburn MJ (2001). Statistical methods for examining
heterogeneity and
combining results from several studies in meta-analysis. In: Egger M, Davey
Smith G, Altman

 * D (eds). Systematic Review in Health Care Meta-Analysis in Context. British
Medical Journal,
   London, pp. 291 - 299.

The epi.*.RData files can be loaded, manipulated and saved using /usr/bin/R. I
believe that this
makes them a preferred form of modification for R users.

For the missing COPYING file, while I am very confident that there is no doubt
this package is licensed under the GPL version 2, I note that most other R
packages do indeed have a COPYING or a LICENSE file, and that therefore it
would be
worthwile asking a clarification to the authors.

Have a nice day,

Bug#455082: patch splitting

2009-12-12 Thread Kees Cook
Hi!

I've started to split up some of the various changes in my monolithic
original rsync-batching patch. I haven't done the final batching logic
changes yet, but here is a stack of patches for various incremental
improvements:

default-settings.patch
silence-errors.patch
functionalize.patch
drop-redundant-rsync.patch
check_file-return.patch
command-exit-checking.patch

I'll continue working on the main portion of the batching logic.

Thanks!

Bug#560764: dpkg: format '3.0 (quilt)' patches fail but succeed with pure quilt

2009-12-12 Thread Jari Aalto
Raphael Hertzog hert...@debian.org writes:

 forcemerge 557667 560764
 thanks

On Sat, 12 Dec 2009, Jari Aalto wrote:
 Version: 1.15.5.3

Please test with the latest version before reporting new bugs.

Sure.

Building with debuild returns a failure but with quilt it
succeeds. See attached archive for use with testing.

This has been fixed in 1.15.5.4 and is related to that:

 Applying patch 50-jwmrc--removed-menus.patch
 patching file example.jwmrc
Hunk #1 succeeded at 8 with fuzz 2 (offset 1 line).
Hunk #2 succeeded at 29 (offset 1 line).

Fuzz is not allowed in patchs in 3.0 (quilt).

This would be contradictory to what quilt(1) itself uses. If patches can
be applied, and they succeed, it would be counter productive to always
re-adjust them just for format 3.0 (quilt).

Please allow fuzz, because re-adjusting patches after every minor
upstream change would not be sensible.

Jari

Hi,

OK I've tried it again. Here are the changes I'd done:

mail-notification-evolution needs these additional dependencies to
compile (like you can see from the compiler output):

libgtkhtml-editor0
libgtkhtml-editor-dev

is the really right position, but it works)

Bug#556948: After recent upgrade the volume was 100% for every song in a playlist

2009-12-12 Thread Dominique Brazziel
Definitely not a hardware issue, as audio had been working just fine with
pulseaudio on this machine for the last 5 or 6 months.

As far as this packages relevance to audio problems, the first manifestation of
the symptoms for most audio problems is the volume controls somehow getting
screwed up. It worked yesterday, the day before, and every day before that
for as long as I can remember, then after yesterday's updates, the volume
control keeps jumping up to 100%. One can actually see it happening. The
gnome-media packages may not ultimately be at fault, but the user interacts
with them the most so they are going to take the hit.

If my volume control jumps around like a rabbit and ALWAYS starts out muted
(how long has the volume muted bug been open? Six months? A year?), no matter
what other components are involved, it is a problem with
gnome-volume-control-applet.

The Openais package's man page (openais.conf) suggests that you use
ais-keygen to generate a key, this is necessary to get things up and
running. Yet ais-keygen is only available in openais-legacy, which
conflicts with openais.

It seems to me like ais-keygen, and perhaps more files as well,
should be included in the openais package.

I think you're looking for corosync-keygen?

Then I assume that a bug should be filed against the openais_overview
[1] man page, which mentions ais-keygen, but does not mention corosync
at all? Perhaps it is so outdated we should consider not shipping that
man page at all?

Hello Francesco,

There is a circular dependency between aolserver4-core and aolserver4-daemon:

aolserver4-core :Depends: aolserver4-daemon

Circular dependencies are known to cause problems during upgrade, so we

Bug#558781: Patch for #558781

2009-12-12 Thread David Paleino
Hello,
I came with the attached patch. But, well, it seems a bit tricky to me. What
do you (Martin, Raphael) think about it?

I patched test/create-delete.test to match the output on my system, and I
believe this chunk is quite safe.

Regarding test/delete.test, it all starts failing at line 80:

  $ quilt delete test3

This test expects a permission denied, I suppose because of the chmod at line
78. But, being built as root, quilt can delete any directory, and everything
down there starts failing.

I had to remove two tests, because they kept failing (I suppose because the
commands output'ed nothing, and even if I matched against ~ (foo)?, that
didn't work).

I don't think this patch is clean enough to be sent upstream (thus I'm not
even tagging the bug with patch) -- do you have any suggestion?

Thank you,
David

Bug#560791: texlive-full 2009: texdoc missing

2009-12-12 Thread Török Edwin
Package: texlive-full
Version: 2009-4
Severity: normal

After installing texlive-full 2009-4 the command texdoc is missing.
I noticed that during the upgrade texlive-base-bin package was removed

$ apt-cache policy texlive-base-bin
texlive-base-bin:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 2007.dfsg.2-8
  Version table:
 2007.dfsg.2-8 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2007.dfsg.2-4+lenny1 0
500 ftp://ftp.ro.debian.org lenny/main Packages

I think that was the package that contained texdoc.
I assume this package was meant to supercede it:
reportbug texlive-full
$ apt-cache policy texlive-binaries
texlive-binaries:
  Installed: 2009-3
  Candidate: 2009-3
  Version table:
 *** 2009-3 0
990 ftp://ftp.ro.debian.org unstable/main Packages
990 ftp://ftp.de.debian.org unstable/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2009-2 0
  1 ftp://ftp.ro.debian.org experimental/main Packages

However it doesn't contain texdoc.
I assumed that by installing texlive-full it'll install whatever packages needed
to get a full TeX distribution, but apparently that is not the case.

Which package has the texdoc command? Or does some other command replace the
texdoc command?

yeah, this is a problem with the current xdotool source, i think.

Note that xdo.h does not contain any declaration for symbol_map
currently (and we're not shipping xdo_util.h with libxdo-dev), so
applications building against it have no way of knowing that symbol_map
is even available (keynav only knows about it because it happens to have
 the same upstream author).

snip

 3) have libxdo export a new function, (named perhaps xdo_symbol_map())
that does a lookup in the static symbol_map on behalf of the caller.

I'll look into this problem this weekend. Using a function would
probably simplify the consumers of libxdo that need key map data. So,
#3 probably. End result will be libxdo exporting something like
xdo_keysym_to_char(), same for symbol_map, and not distributing
xdo_util.h with any package as it won't be needed.

Thanks again for reporting these things - the old implementation (ship
xdo with keynav) was to aid in building where no packages were
provided. I am quite happy to move away from that implementation to
one that supports packaging models better. :)

Bug#560792: doc-base: Plese add section for Network/Servers

2009-12-12 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Package: doc-base
Version: 0.9.5
Severity: normal

There is currently no section suitable for the Apache documentation.
Network/Web Browsing only includes browsers, not servers.

I think a section for network daemons would be nice. Looking at [1],
at least the following servers don't fit into any section either:

eximMail
hpsocksdSOCKS
polipo http-proxy
ulog-acctd iptables accounting
(may fit into System/Monitoring)
vrrpd routing

The new section could be added under Network or as a top level
section. It could be called Servers or Daemons. I don't really mind which
is chosen.

Bug#560795: git-doc: git-commit is not a shell command now

2009-12-12 Thread Osamu Aoki
Package: git-doc
Version: 1:1.6.3.3-1~bpo50+1
Severity: minor

In version 1.6.3 (and 1.5.6 as I see its source), git and git-commit
(and most other git-* in /usr/lib/git-core/) are not shell commands any
more. But file:///usr/share/doc/git-doc/gitcore-tutorial.html has lines
as follows at the last part of Making a change:

| You've now made your first real git commit. And if you're interested in
| looking at what git commit really does, feel free to investigate: it's a
| few very simple shell scripts to generate the helpful (?) commit message
| headers, and a few one-liners that actually do the commit itself
| (git-commit).

Clearly, it's a few very simple shell scripts is incorrect. Reading
lines for int cmd_commit(...) function in builtin-commit.c of its
source is as best we can these days. Please forward this to upstream.

Bug#560796: hplip: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*

2009-12-12 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: hplip
Version: 3.9.10-3
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: FTBFS
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

Hi,

your package is no longer building on kfreebsd-*, which is RC since they
are release architectures. Your package hasn't even been tried (since
they are in BD-Uninstallable state) because the BD: libudev-dev is
unconditional, while it only exists on Linux architectures.

Please exclude it on non-Linux ports. Once the attached patch applied,
your package builds fine at least on kfreebsd-i386. There might be
installation issues due to udev rules or so, but that's another story.

I guess passing --enable-udev-acl-rules to ./configure could be made
conditional, only when DEB_HOST_ARCH_OS matches 'linux', too.

Mraw,
KiBi.

I've given back the packages that were known to fail, they should
get build again soon.

but on amd64 its version in Sid is 1:4.2-1.

Anyway, the bug is there in 1:4.2-1 as well.

Bug#560801: using 019-ifrename.rules instead of 19-ifrename.rules?

2009-12-12 Thread Michael Prokop
Package: ifrename
Version: 30~pre9-2
Severity: normal

Is there any specific reason why the ifrename udev rule uses
019-ifrename.rules for its name instead of the typical two-numbers
schema?

For more than 40 udev rules being present in /lib/udev/rules.d the
only one that uses a three-numbers schema is the one ifrename. I'd
like to see consistency regarding the numbering schema so it's
obvious which script is executed in which order/state.

Is there any chance that 019-ifrename.rules could be renamed to
19-ifrename.rules?

thanks regards,

Bug#560282: gcc-4.4: cc1 crashes with simple test file

Please consider this one closed! In the end it proved to be a CIFS

I suspect so. Why do you need GTK+ 2.18 on Lenny, BTW?

Actually, I can't remember clearly (it may have been due to attempts to
recompile gq from SVN), and after checking the impact, I downgraded to
the GTK version in Lenny.

Bug#560803: grub-pc boot menu doesn't appears after the last update

2009-12-12 Thread Alain Duguet
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.97+20091210-1
Severity: important

Hello,

After the last update, which was 2009-10-12 for me, and installed apparently
grub-pc 1.97+20091210-1 and grub-common 1.97+20091210-1, when I wanted to
reboot my computer (what an idea?), I didn't see my beautiful graphic grub
menu, but instead of this, I saw the ugly (for the point of view of my wife!)
grub prompt. Nevertheless, I typed configfile /boot/grub/grub.cfg, and at the
first time, it loaded the menu and I could simply boot the system. I reproduced
the action a second time, and when I wanted to use the completion (with tab)
to complete grub.cfg, I saw some bizarre characters at the end of the line
after cfg and was forced to delete them to load the configfile. For the
moment, I downgraded to grub-legacy (to avoid my wife screaming) but I don't
know what happened.

Thanks a lot for your great work!

Of course, if you want to maintain it, you should go ahead, i don't mean

i know it used to depend on Math::PARI, but that has been cleaned up as
of upstream version 0.13 (2005.05.26), and it now is relatively easy to
 build and install.

I have a packaged version available now at:

Should i go ahead and upload it, or do you want to pick it up again?

Bug#560730: seahorse-plugins: Seahorse should be started from non-GNOME X sessions (such as xfce4)

2009-12-12 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Carl Worth wrote:
 Package: seahorse-plugins
 Version: 2.28.1-2
 Severity: important

I recently switched from running GNOME to running xfce4 instead, and
when I did so I found that my email program no longer brought up the
nice, graphical prompt for my GPG passphrase, (nor remembered it from
 one email to the next).

I tracked the bug down to the file /etc/X11/Xsession.d/60seahorse
 which says:

 if [ -n $GNOMERC ] [ -x $SEAHORSE ] [ -z $GPG_AGENT_INFO ]; then
   STARTUP=$SEAHORSE --execute $STARTUP
 fi

This is the changelog snippet:

seahorse (2.22.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Josselin Mouette ]
  * seahorse.Xsession: only start seahorse-agent for GNOME sessions.
Closes: #443115, #472641.

To workaround this for now, I kludged things by adding another file in
the same directory (55xfce) that simply does:

 # Set GNOMERC so that we get seahorse within an XFCE session
 GNOMERC=1

With this, seahorse and my email program now work exactly as I want.

Obviously my kludge involves a lie, so that's not desireable. A proper
fix would be to simply start seahorse in any X session for which
everything it requires is available. Is that a matter of simply
 removing the '[ -n $GNOMERC ]' from the above?

Yes, but that's not a good solution for everyone...

Or is there some capability that both GNOME and xfce4 are providing
(that perhaps some other session would not) that should be checked for?

Before enabling it again in Xfce I'd like to hear the opionion of the Xfce
maintainers.

Cheers,
Emilio

Package: x11vnc
Version: 0.9.8-2

Even though I'm using the -quiet option I still get output stored
passwd in file and the output goes to stderr instead of stdout:

# x11vnc -quiet -storepasswd foo /dev/null /dev/null
stored passwd in file /dev/null
# x11vnc -quiet -storepasswd foo /dev/null 2/dev/null

Bug#560788: your mail

Hi,

Yeah, as said in the other mail upstrema has the habit of relying on .so
instead of so.X...

Will fix that, although this will cause some headaches for the lenny backport;
ah well..

I filed against openoffice.org-base because Base is where I saw the bug, and
 I
assumed it may be related to the efforts of fix the last bug report I filed
regarding trying to use the native connector in Base.

And those were only affecting -mysql-connector, too because *that* had the bug
not Base. Base has no native mysql support without -mysql-connector.

Bug#316549: Please consider as 'time-daemon' alternative

2009-12-12 Thread Dererk
Helo!

It's been some time since this bug/wishlist was filed, and since then
more packages have to workaround the situation in which 'ntp' package is
not part of the time-daemon virtual package by adding 'ntp |
time-daemon', instead of just Depending/Recommending/Sugesting the
'time-daemon' virtual package.

A quick reverse dependency package lists tell me that all this packages
have to unnecessarily require to depend on both ntp *and* time-daemon,
instead of just depending on 'time-daemon' as it would be expected:

aiccu
openafs-fileserver
slony1-bin

I might be wrong, but I consider the policy is quite straight forward in
this case as , and it's even specified on Debian's virtual-package list:
http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/virtual-package-names-list.txt

System
--
[snip]
linux-kernel-log-daemon a daemon to facilitate logging for the Linux kernel
system-log-daemon a daemon that provides a logging facility for
other applications
time-daemon anything that serves as a time daemon

Besides that, all of this packages have a possible exclusive-unwanted
Dependency/Recommendation/Suggestion on just 'ntp', requiring for an
specific software instead of asking for the provision of a service
through the virtual package 'time-daemon', as specified on the Debian
Policy 3.6: 'All packages should use virtual package names where
appropriate, and arrange to create new ones if necessary'.

switzerland
predict
predict-gsat
jffnms
hobbit-plugins
gnumed-client
gnome-system-tools
dovecot-common
education-networked

Please consider 'ntp' as a candidate for providing 'time-daemon'.

  poll([{fd=0, events=POLLIN}, {fd=3, events=POLLIN}], 2, -1) = 1 ([{fd=3,

No idea what's causing this in my system and not in yours. It is perfectly

Bug#391841: debian-policy: Remove time-daemon

2009-12-12 Thread Dererk
Hello Peter,

I perfectly understand what you mean, but as you also mentioned, you are
referring to ntpdate as if it was possible to be in conflict with any
software provided by time-daemon, while note being a daemon anyway.

I consider that the description is both, relatively generic and straight
forward to a function or service, which in my opinion, in this case is
the main goal.

Let's consider a very very plain and simple shell script (or
in-your-favorite-scripting-language ;-) ), which runs into a loop and
cycles a ntpdate software checking for time deviation, wouldn't it be a
candidate for a 'time-daemon' package provider?
I do consider it will perfectly suit as it servers the purpose of
getting a system time-synced, Ok Ok, in a completely roughly fashion,
but it somehow does.

Please reconsider the remotion of this virtual-package.

Cheers,

Dererk

The problem exists in all current Debian releases (stable, testing,
unstable).
Without optimizations the problem is still there, but it's a lot more
difficult to follow.

This is the simplest test code that I could extract. The basic principle
is used in a large
cross-platform library and all GCC variants for x86 that I have used
(Debian, Cygwin, MinGW, TDM)
generate essentially the same code.

Bug#508939: [Pkg-lyx-devel] Bug#508939: texlive 2009 in Debian unstable

2009-12-12 Thread Per Olofsson

Sven Hoexter skrev:

Hi,
we've now texlive 2009 in unstable which makes it again possible to compile
the LyX math manual. Be aware that you've to install the texlive-science
package aswell.

I added texlive-science to lyx's Recommends.

It's only ~3 MB installed.

Bug#496630: [RFC] provide a quilt clean command

2009-12-12 Thread David Paleino
Hello people,
while looking at bugs filed in Debian, I stumbled across please provide a
quilt clean command:

  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=496630

On Tuesday 26 August 2008 11:36:21, Gerfried Fuchs wrote:
 Hi!

It would be more convenient if quilt would be able to clean up after
itself. That is, removing the .pc directory again (and possibly other
autogenerated/cached files). Having to work around that with make file
magic or other means is IMHO the wrong approach and errorsome: If the
autogenerated files change or others are produced, the build system
should know, but external magic doesn't.

So ... please give us a proper clean command. :)

I might be missing something, but doesn't quilt only touch things inside .pc/?
Thus, the magic involved in cleaning up just boils down to

  quilt pop -f -a ; rm -rf .pc/ [1]

Is that right?

Kindly,
David

[1] given a .pc/.quiltrc does not exist, in which case that one should
probably be preserved, and I agree a quilt clean might be handy here.

Bug#537414: please default to 1.8 interface for hdf5-1.8.x

2009-12-12 Thread Juha Jäykkä
Hi!

This is still present in 1.8.3-2.1 and the fix is simply to remove the line

#define H5_USE_16_API_DEFAULT 1

from /usr/include/H5pubconf.h, Or surround it with

#if !defined(H5_I_REALLY_DO_NOT_WANT_OLD_API)
#define H5_USE_16_API_DEFAULT 1
#endif

This would give those users who, like me, have software written for 1.8 API,
the possibility to compile it without altering the code. My example is the
SAMRAI library, which is smart enough to support both 1.6 and 1.8, by
#ifdefing stuff like this:

#if (H5_VERS_MAJOR1) || ((H5_VERS_MAJOR==1)(H5_VERS_MINOR  6))

But it trusts 1.8 library to use 1.8 API! Or at least that there would be a
way to make it use 1.8 syntax without altering the code or libhdf5's headers.

I would also suggest bumping up the severity: this breaks unrelated software,
albeit none from Debian that I am aware, so I am not sure what would be
appropriate.

We've switched to 4.4 as default gcc a few days ago, and

I've given back the packages that were known to fail, they should
 get build again soon.

They were all succesful, except for wireshark which seems to
be a known issue with the package and not alpha specific.

So it's my understanding that PR8603 got applied to the 4.3.4,
4.4.2 and the 4.5 branches which caused PR42113 and that that
one is now fixed in the current 4.4.2 and 4.5 versions, but tht
4.3.4-6 still has this issue.

  Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
  amd64.

Can you test this again? Maybe there was something wrong with your
 build environment?

   ./xmlreader KeyboardNames.pl
   Couldn't open ckb/rules/xorg.xml:
No such file or directory at ./xmlreader line 67

The file ckb/rules/xorg.xml exists in the source package and it is a
static file - nothing removes or changes it.

Please post your build log (including dependencies installation) so we
can diff it with mine.

Bug#560352: PTS page scew-up? (pcsc-omnikey)

it's not just pcsc-omnikey, it's also others (imagination,
 libgnupdf, pth, qpxtool, xenwatch, ...).

More generally, it seems that we have a big problem.

Many tools relied on the fact that the Sources file only contained one
entry per package. This was changed recently, without any impact study,
and instantly broke many tools and scripts.

I've created a view in UDD that provides the old information (ie, only
the most recent source for each source package), and another one that
provides only the superseded source packages that are still in the
sources file.

component='main';

select count(*) from sources where release='sid' and component='main';
count
---
15289
(1 row)

select count(*) from sources_redundant where release='sid' and component='main';
 count
---
   934
(1 row)

I'm exporting the (source, version) from sources_uniq for unstable at
http://udd.debian.org/cgi-bin/sources_sid_filtered.cgi

I'm not sure where we should got from here: should we ask ftpmasters to
consider reverting that change in some way? Or instead, try to find all the
tools that relied on the old format?
