Nevermind me, I must have been lacking some sleep :)
You're right, the test spawns 10 threads (and those are the only ones that
aren't joined immediatly),
then, each thread + itself tries to spawn + join a thread...

Well, no, after a quick inspection, it appears the test behaves correctly.
Then, I have no idea why it would fail.
12~23 threads is well within any limit set up on my system, as far as I can
tell...

Sorry for wasting your time,
Thibaut Girka.

Hello!

It would be nice to have an 'include' parameter in the same way rsync
works.

Thus it would be possible to do things like :
exclude = .*
include = .git

One of the dbus-headers, the dbus-c++-headers and/or the application
'dbusxx-xml2cpp' where not found. The dbus-server for ffado will
 therefore not be built.

Just a quick note, dbus-c++ 0.9.0-5 fixes this and has been uploaded
to the archives already. [1]

Bug#675140: obnam: cannot merge several exclude options in a config file

2012-05-29 Thread Damien Couroussé
Package: obnam
Version: 0.29-1
Severity: normal

Hello!

In a config file, I cannot use several occurrences of the 'exclude'
parameter.

For example, I would like to be able to do this in my config file :

--- obnam.cfg ---
# exclude some temp files
exclude = temp

# exclude other files
exclude = another_temp
-

But doing this, --dump-config only shows the last exclude parameter
specified. A workaround is to give all the exclude patterns on the same
exlude line, but it makes the config file more difficult to document.

Furthermore, if an 'exclude' parameter is used in the command line, it
erases the exclude parameters given in a config file.

e.g.

$ obnam --config=obnam.cfg --exclude=perso --exclude=fichier backup
~/Desktop/temp

Damien

If you only want to use -radeon, install a custom xorg.conf that references
radeon directly.
The X server will pick 'ati' in autodetect mode, which will forward to the
correct driver.

The extra cruft of a few 100kb? Make your own xorg.conf and remove ati.
You'll sacrifice auto config but whatever is more important to you. :-)

Please add ngraph as a known interpreter and remove ngp2 from the list.

ngp2 has been added as a known interpreter on 2.5.8.
But it is not an interpreter.
ngp2 is just a script which uses ngraph.

Actually, gfortran 4.7 is now the default.

Sure but this should be done more on the gfortran level.

users and its aims are:
- to improve the use of English in all debconf templates;
- to make the wording of debconf templates more consistent;
- to encourage more translations of templates.

Even if your first language is English, this process is likely to help
track down typos or errors, and improve consistency between the
debconf templates of your package and that of other packages in the
distribution.

The process involves both debian-l10n-english contributors and
Debian translators.

The details of the process are given in
http://wiki.debian.org/I18n/SmithDebconfReviewProcess.

I will act as the coordinator of this activity for nova.

The first step of the process is to review the debconf source
template file(s) of nova. This review will start on Saturday, June 02, 2012, or
as soon as you acknowledge this mail with an agreement for us to
carry out this process.

All parts of the process will be carried out in close collaboration
with you, and, unless you explicitely ask for it, no upload nor NMU
will happen for nova.

If you approve this process, please let us know by replying to this
mail. If some work in progress on your side would conflict with such a
rewrite (such as adding or removing debconf templates), please say so,
and we will defer the review to later in the development cycle.

Thank you for your attention.

Great. I last looked at it in February and at least then you needed
a patch to use klibc's insmod. I can send over the hacked together (not
upstream ready) patch for this. The other change I made is already
upstream.

Dear Maintainer,

This is very likely a kvm issue. Please retry with the same commands and
commandline with only kvm but without libvirt. You can check the logs to
find the original command line and use LIBVIRT_DEBUG to get details
about the migration process:

Bug#675134: libparse-debcontrol-perl: Reports a parse error if first line of file is a comment

Quoting the Debian policy document:

Lines starting with # without any preceding whitespace are comments
lines that are only permitted in source package control files
(debian/control). These comment lines are ignored, even between two
continuation lines. They do not end logical lines.

  http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-controlfields.html

It definitely seems that libparse-debcontrol-perl should allow this.

Bug#675137: fai-setup-storage: wipefs failed with LVM

2012-05-29 Thread KURASHIKI Satoru
Package: fai-setup-storage
Version: 4.0
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I configure FAI to setup-storage with enabling LVM.

After boot, FAI client fails at setup-storage with non-zero
exit code. the log says:

Executing: mdadm --examine --scan --verbose -c partitions
Executing: wipefs -a /dev/sda1
Executing: vgchange -a n main
Executing: wipefs -a vg/lv
Command had non-zero exit code

I guess that before wipefs, it would be needed to execute "vgchange -a y".

Bug#675136: nova: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review proposal

2012-05-29 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: nova
Version: N/A
Severity: normal

Dear Debian maintainer,

Hello,

I just noticed new or modified debconf templates appearing for this
package.

I would like to suggest you to consider calling for debconf templates
review AND translation updates when you introduce new debconf
templates or modify the existing templates in a package or, if you
prefer, to send a call for translations after uploading the first
version that introduces new templates or templates changes.

If you're interested in suggestions for doing this, you can find some
at the end of this bug report.

The debian-l10n-english team will now start a review, on our own
initiative. It will be conducted through this bug report.

Suggestions for future debconf templates review

1) Getting debconf templates reviewed
--

The Debian i18n contributors have developed a set of suggestions for
the writing style of debconf templates, to give them an overall
consistency all around Debian. These writing style suggestions are
explained in the Developers Reference. Lintian also warns about common
writing style concerns.

Maintainers are welcome when they ask for a review of debconf templates
and/or packages descriptions on debian-l10n-engl...@lists.debian.org.
It is of course not needed to wait for someone (such as me right me)
proposing you such a review.

In such situations (whether the review is requested by the maintainer
or proposed by someone else), someone from the debian-l10n-english
team will pick up the review to do, handle it, and finally send you a
bug report with the suggested templates. If you want, you can ask for
being CC'ed to the various discussions when the templates are
reviewed.

2) Call for new translations

As soon as the templates have been reviewed, you can ask Debian
translators for new translations:

Just go to your package's build tree and use:

$ podebconf-report-po --call

This will propose you a generic mail which is to be sent to
debian-i...@lists.debian.org and call for new translations.

This utility will mention existing translations to avoid duplicate
work.

It will also attach the needed material to this mail.

Please also think about giving a deadline to translators. We like
deadlines..:-)

3) Always call for translation updates before uploading
---

(of course only when you change the debconf templates!)

If your package already includes debconf translations (ie *.po files
in debian/po), please consider calling for translation updates if you
happen to change something in the templates...or just in case when you
release a new version.

This is done with the following command:

$ podebconf-report-po

This will build private mails to translators (ie people listed in
"Last-Translator" in the PO files) for translations that are
incomplete. These mails will included the needed PO file for each
translator.

Bug#675135: nova: Debconf abuse: nova-common/start_services

2012-05-29 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: nova
Severity: normal

This debconf template is debconf abuse. DebConf should not be used to
display notes such as "Software will work when configured" or
such things.

In short, indeed: Debconf Notes Are Evil.

There is a good rationale to explain this in details in
debconf-devel(7).

to the version in request-tracker3.8_3.8.8-7+squeeze1_all.deb does
indeed fix the problem for us (phew!).

Thanks Matthias, yes it's ok to upload. The version of Librecad in
wheezy uses it, and I don't know if they'll release a stable version
without fparser before it is released, so I can keep on maintaining it
for now.

Bug#672035: [Swig-devel] Debian Bug #672035: SWIG fails on pair

2012-05-29 Thread Torsten Landschoff

On 05/29/2012 08:41 AM, William S Fulton wrote:

There are some problems with 'using' statements in SWIG and so the
commit you highlighted might have exposed these problems. I'll take a
closer look later, but in the meantime, could you please consider the
following workaround for ZNC where you explicitly qualify std::pair.

%include
%template(StrPair) std::pair;

The attached patch does just that and fixes the build for me. I
forwarded the patch to the upstream issue as well.

Please consider applying until SWIG gets fixed.

Greetings, Torsten

Description: Qualify access to pair with std:: for SWIG.
SWIG seems to have problems with access to imported C++ namespaces.
William S. Fulton suggested to work around this by qualifying std::pair
 in this email:
 http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.programming.swig.devel/21772
 .
This patch does just that and seems to fix building with SWIG 2.0.7.
In the long run this should of course be fixed in SWIG.

Have to correct myself: Severity should be at least minor as this
implies that our build-dependencies are not tight enough.

Deducing from the bug report we may need to add some ">= 2.2.10-0.1"
or similar to the libsigc++-2.0-dev build-dependency.

Bug#675132: No gwyddion (2.28) thumbnailer available for Gnome 3

2012-05-29 Thread Nicola Ferralis

Package: gwyddion
Version: 2.28-1

One of the features of gwyddion 2.28 is the presence of a gnome 3 thumbnailer.
The file should be installed, but apparently it is not in Ubuntu. While it is
compiled in the temporary building folder, it is not packaged. Upon the
installation of the packages for ubuntu [1], there is no thumbnailer in
/usr/share/.

I am not sure if the same applies to debian, it would be good to check (I don't
have any debian system to test it myself), but it affects ubuntu.
Thanks for any insight.Nicola

Ah, sorry, then I misread it. I thought he just hadn't updated some
libraries which are still on versions in squeeze.

Indeed. And:

| Debian Release: wheezy/sid
| APT prefers stable
| APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (500, 'testing'), (410, 'unstable'), (200,
'experimental'), (111, 'oldstable')

Retitling accordingly, again...

But then again, this would be an issue of an actual backport (if
anyone wants to do that) and that's not really supported the BTS (yet).

So I'd even downgrade it to wishlist.

Indeed, but the submitter appears to be trying to build 0.6.6 in
squeeze anyway. From the original report:

> The build-depends state libsigc++-2.0-dev but version 2.2.4.2-1
> from squeeze does not suffice, version 2.2.10-0.1 works.

Which is not something I have yet investigated. In theory, provided
the more recent apt libraries are used (and these build-depends
corrected) a backport to squeeze should be fine.

Also, the suggested patch of using gmock-config (which is only
available in squeeze) fails to build in testing, unstable. A clean
patch that compiles with both old and more recent gmock should be
possible.

This is the first I've heard, but I'm totally fine if someone wants to take
over upstream since I haven't had time to work on the package or the
upstream program.

If there is interest in using the savannah or launchpad sites for
development, I would be happy to add any interested parties as
administrators to do what they wish with them.

Seems so.

No, 0.6.6-1 is not in squeeze (not even in wheezy anymore), squeeze
has 0.6.3-3.2+squeeze1.

AFAIK it refers to the same FTBFS because of which we scheduled 0.6.7
as intermediate release, i.e. is a duplicate of
http://bugs.debian.org/670403. Anyway as this was filed against
0.6.6-1 and 0.6.7-1 has been uploaded successfully, IMHO this bug can be
either merged with #670403 or closed as fixed with 0.6.7-1.

I uploaded new packages for texlive-bin. This closes the
bug, evince does NOT need a rebuild. By updating to the version
I uploaded the library now exports the symbol properly and
evince works with dvi files again.

Robin's fixed this on wx trunk and closed the upstream ticket, so sadly
it looks like this won't get fixed in the wx 2.8 series.

So I've tagged this as "wontfix" and have closed it. There's a simple
workaround which works in 2.8 and should work in the future too - just
don't chain the calls.

Cheers,
Olly

Maybe if you add a SEE ALSO item to the manpage, that will "fix" this

There's still the other part, though, which looks like a "real" bug.

Thanks for the analysis.

If I am reading correctly, tst-eintr1 tries to spawn 11 child threads,
one of which sends SIGUSR1 to other threads in a loop with a handler
that writes '.' and the other 10 of which spawn and join a child
repeatedly in a loop. At any given moment, there would be somewhere
in the range of 12 to 22 active threads (1 x driver + 1 x signal
source + 10 x tf1 + 0-10 x tf2).

Have you noticed the test behaving differently? Maybe when
pthread_join returns the process is still around? How do you know
there are extra unjoined threads?

Curious,
Jonathan

It's not just the newer openssl, it's some interaction between openssl
and Net::SSLeay. I installed activestate perl on an unstable box,
running an older Net::SSLeay (1.36) and it was able to connect to the
.jp server without any errors.

I sent some time banging on this, and added some more error checking
on general principle, but the error above is the best I can get right
now for some reason, and I think it's likely related to the larger
"why can't this combination of perl/openssl/Net::SSLeay negotiate a
TLSv1 connection with that server" issue. I say that because I do get
meaningful errors out Net::SSLeay on other connect failures. For
instance, here's an attempt at tls-on-connect with a non-tls server:

jetmore@lappy-vm2:~$ ./swaks -tlsc -p 25 -s g3 -q helo
=== Trying g3:25...
=== Connected to g3.
*** TLS startup failed (connect(): error:140770FC:SSL
routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol)

And the same error response trying to connect to the server in question:

jetmore@lappy-vm2:~$ ./swaks -q tls -s smtp.jaist.ac.jp -p 587 -tls
[...]
*** TLS startup failed (connect(): error::lib(0):func(0):reason(0))

Other than saying "it won't segfault in the next release", not sure
what else to do here (though I'm open to suggestions if I'm
overlooking something).

Bug#674942: ruby blocks buildd for a day (or more)

2012-05-29 Thread Steven Chamberlain
tags 674942 + patch
thanks

Hi,

This is odd; a 1-hour timeout was just added for the ruby1.8 test
suite, because this was noticed as a problem on kfreebsd-* buildds
(#673594).

And on some buildds like armel/armhf, mips/mipsel this new timeout was
too short, so I was even going to ask about raising it.

But we see ia64, also i386 and powerpc builds hung for 48+ hours now.

If hung ruby1.8 processes are nonresponsive to SIGTERM, I guess
'timeout' must use SIGKILL instead (patch attached, also raising the
timeout to 2h as explained). Or it could send both signals, with the -k
option, but I don't see much point.

Might want to do the same for ruby1.9.1 which is where this timeout was
borrowed from, and 1200 seconds was much too short.

(p.s. the 150-minute limit on kfreebsd-* buildds is some kind of
'inactivity' timer so it doesn't limit the entire build -- it should be
okay for the test suite to run for 2+ hours even if the package build
time comes to more than 150 minutes total.)

Thanks,
Regards,

Bug#674231: archivemount: Add 7zip support

Thanks for your explanations. Hmm, are you sure Debian Sid has libarchive

And 3.0.4 seems to be the latest stable release of libarchive

And although libarchive 3.0.4 is supposed to support .7z archives, the
following commands do not work for me, the mount point remains empty:

So I'm a little confused now, is this a missing feature in

a bug in libarchive? Or a bug in front instead of inside of my laptop :)?

Bug#674718: imagemagick bug

I did not generate that command line invocation, so I can't really
explain the justification for it. It comes from the thumbnailing code in
Gallery, some imageboard software, and probably some other places. It
does not seem uncommon, and works as expected (at least, how I expected
it to work) in GraphicsMagick.

I'm not sure I understand upstream's response, though... is he trying to
say that it is expected that the provided example generates a jpg that
is tens of thousands pixels wide and tall? Even though the -size and
-geometry options specified a size of 217x159? Using -resize instead of
-geometry doesn't seem to change this behavior, but '-layers merge'
does.

> Are you trying to merge all the layer ? something like this :
>
> convert -resize '217x159!' -layers merge 'foo.gif[0]' foo.jpg

The -layers option makes this incompatible with older ImageMagick
releases, and GraphicsMagick, which is possibly why various software
uses the other invocation.

> BTW according to upstream they are no security breach.

Reading the referenced link makes me think upstream did not understand
what I'm complaining about. While it is certainly reasonable for
imagemagick to generate images this large, and the failure mode is
understandable, why is imagemagick trying to create such a large image
in this case at all?

>> We add a "Referer" header, as well as header to note that we can accept

is describing a code example, but one does not see the example on the
man page.

Ah, looking at /usr/share/perl5/WWW/Mechanize.pm we see he is talking
about something he does in the code... well then in the POD it should
say instead "This function adds" instead of "We add".

OK, never mind.

Since then, a GObject-Introspection based v1.110 release is out,
and the upstream Git repository has seen changes recently.

The old FTBFS is gone, with the move away from XS to introspection.

Hence, I plan to upload 1.110-1 to unstable soon. Does anyone mind?

I've resurrected the Git packaging repository from attic, fixing a few
bugs in "remove-repository -r" along the way, and I've pushed the
updated packaging to pkg-perl/libclutter-perl.git, so that anyone
interested can have a look.

Remaining (non-blocking) issues:

  * Lintian warning (empty changelog.gz) --> was fixed in Git upstream
since then.
  * The only test case segfaults in a pbuilder + xvfb-run environment,
but passes flawlessly in a regular X session. So, I (sadly)
disabled it. Any idea what could help making it work in pbuilder?

power: Fix icon updates

gnome-settings-daemon commit 07b1ed63016 removed the custom 'Changed'
DBus signal in favor of the standard 'PropertiesChanged' signal, so
use that instead to update the icon.

Will add a Breaks: gnome-shell (<< 3.4) to gnome-settings-daemon
and a Depends: gnome-settins-daemon (>= 3.4) to gnome-shell.

Bug#673596: libc6: FTBFS on wheezy/sid amd64 (test suite failures)

2012-05-29 Thread Thibaut Girka
I've been bitten by this bug too, and here is what I've gathered:

tst-eintr1 spawns threads continuously, without joining them, until it receives
a SIGALRM.
This is supposed to occur take 3 seconds, which, on my computer, makes roughly
5k threads unjoined threads, which is already a large number.
Now, when building from the source package, this test doesn't run for 3
seconds, but for 150 seconds due to TIMEOUTFACTOR=50...
This changes the large number of 5k threads to something really huge: about
250k (potentially finished, but never joined) threads.
Although I don't really know how finished-but-unjoined threads are handled,
such a large number is bound to hit some limit.

Regards,
Thibaut Girka.

would stop the symbol from being exported.

Maybe you did your build just before that change? Don't know how else
to explain it.

Ugg, even downgrading g-s-d does not help anymore. Seems something
else broke?

In the .xsession-errors I find, but the mentioned files are old
so should not have an influence.

Yes it looks fine ... besides the fact that since then
the ssh-agent does not work anymore, it asks the password instead
of opening the black window to enter the passphrase for the
ssh key.

Furthermore, when trying it another time, ssh hangs *completely*
like waiting for something to happen:

That was all after a reboot to make sure that nothing interferes.

Dear FTP team,

ampliconnoise depends on mafft, which does not build anymore on ia64 (internal
compiler error).

Please remove ampliconnoise on ia64 from Unstable so that the version of mafft
currently in Unstable can migrate to Testing.

Bug#675125: libslang2: jed fails to start with latest libslang2 (2.2.4-12)

2012-05-29 Thread Omen Wild
Package: libslang2
Version: 2.2.4-12
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

With the latest version of libslang2 (2.2.4-12) jed fails to start.
When I try to load a new instance I get the following errors:
--- begin
Unable to open emacs. Check the value of the S-Lang load path.
Unable to open modeinfo. Check the value of the S-Lang load path.
Open failed
--- end

Attempting to debug the S-Lang load path shows:
--- begin
0 > jed -batch -quiet -f 'vmessage("%S",_slang_install_prefix)'
loading /usr/share/jed/lib/site.sl
loading /usr/share/jed/lib/os.sl
loading /usr/share/jed/lib/menus.sl
loading /home/omen/.jedrc
Reading -quiet
Unable to open textmode. Check the value of the S-Lang load path.
--- end

The problem seems to be that the /etc/jed.d/ files are not loaded.
Downgrading libslang2 to 2.2.4-10 makes the problem go away and jed
functions correctly.

Please update gnome-settings-daemon to 3.4.2-2 and let us know if this
fixes your problem.
Apparently there was a change in the (private) D-Bus API of
gnome-settings-daemon which provides the power plugin.

Bug#675109: evince: DVI support broken

Hi Karl, hi Peter,

do you remember the discussion on kpse_cnf_get ... it seems

Is there something that has been checked in *after 2012-05-16 to
fix that? Or is there anything we should cehck in?

Or, since we don't need shared builds for TeX Live proper, I can also
apply a patch only to the Debian packages, but I guess many distribution
builders will face the same problem.

Norbert,
objdump -tT /usr/lib/libkpathsea.so.6 | grep kpse_cnf_get
indeed does not list kpse_cnf_get for libkpathsea6_2012.20120516-1.

hasn't been fixed properly.

Would you please have another look to see what's going wrong with
libkpathsea6.

Bug#675122: iceweasel: Mibbit.com is being used as a "handler service" for IRC links.

2012-05-29 Thread Andrew Wigglesworth
Package: iceweasel
Version: 10.0.4esr-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

I clicked on an "IRC link". ie. a irc:// style link.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

I was offered use of a proprietary, secret code, "software as a service"
service for IRC called Mibbit ar Mibbit.com.

It is also a service permanently banned at Freenode. See:
http://blog.freenode.net/2009/06/new-freenode-webchat-and-why-to-use-it/

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I did not expect to be offered a closed SaaS like Mibbit by software on Debian.

GTK+ contains a GtkVolumeButton. I guess it would be better to use this
standard widget, instead of the custom BaconVolumeButton which is used now.

Bug#675119: gnomeradio: Use standard gstreamer functions to parse a description

2012-05-29 Thread POJAR GEORGE
Package: gnomeradio
Version: 1.8-2
Severity: wishlist

GStreamer contains several functions to parse a description to a bin
(gst_parse_bin_from_description[1]). Gnomeradio contains two custom functions
to do this, but i don't see anything special about those implementations. They
can, imho, be exchanged for their standard counterpart.

Bug#674990: exim breaks (again?) with TLS packet with unexpected length

thanks for your help.

Ok, after adding the necessary GLobalSign to the accepted CA certificates
I can talk to the server via openssl and gnutls-cli on port 465.

I could even send an actual email by typing in all the commands
including authentication etc using gnutl-cli:

Here is a transcript:
$ gnutls-cli --priority=NORMAL:%COMPAT:-VERS-TLS1.1:-VERS-TLS1.2

Processed 7 CA certificate(s).

But interestingly the mail was properly delivered, so no problem on
this side.

The only hickup was that at then end

Now I tried to convince exim to do the same, but without success.
According to your remarks I set the foillowing variables in
/etc/exim4/conf.d/main/000_localmacros

DCsmarthost=smtp.jaist.ac.jp::465
gnutls_compat_mode=true
gnutls_require_protocols=NORMAL:%COMPAT:-VERS-TLS1.1:-VERS-TLS1.2

called update-exim4.conf and restarted exim. Unfortunately it did
not work out, I got:
2012-05-30 08:08:15 [11828] 1SZVOZ-0007rj-8Q SMTP timeout while connected to
smtp.jaist.ac.jp [150.65.19.12] after initial connection: Connection timed out

connected to smtp.jaist.ac.jp [150.65.19.12] after initial connection

which is at least a step forward ...

Any further ideas?

-
One more thing: I want to complain to the tech staff here: can you
tell me what else, besides the fact that TLS1.1 and TLS1.2 are not
supported, I can tell them?

Thanks a lot and all the best

standard of 4.6,
resulting in mpif90 being unable to compile a simple hello world application.

This problem can be resolved by either recompiling the package with
gfortran-4.6, or by setting
compiler used by mpif90 to gfortran-4.7; the former solution is more correct, I
think, since other
Fortran modules (hdf5, etc) are compiled using the system standard of
gfortran-4.6.

Moving forward, I think that there needs to be was to track this hidden
dependency, since this is
second time that the module version has prevented this package from functioning
for Fortran.

2.1.7 has just been released and it's looking like it has reached a
pretty mature state. Can we have that in before the freeze?

Please? :-)

I am just sitting down to work on dovecot as we speak. I agree that
2.1.7 is probably what we want for wheezy so I'll try and get an
upload into unstable today. Then hopefully a month or so will be
enough time to shake any remaining packaging problems out.

Wonderful. I think I'll go through some of the outstanding bugs and see
if there is anything I can do to help, I have a feeling some are quite
closeable.

Bug#675111: merkaartor: Uploading changes to OpenStreetMap fails (404 Error)

2012-05-29 Thread Marko Knöbl
Package: merkaartor
Version: 0.17.2-5+b4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Since some days uploading changes to OpenStreetMap from Merkaartor is failing
for me. Previously uploading always worked flawlessly for me. My last
successful upload was on 2012-05-27.
When I try to upload something the following error message is shown in a popup:

---
There was an error uploading this request (404)
"

404 Not Found

The requested URL /api/0.6/changeset/11730472/upload was not found on this
server.

Please redownload the problematic feature to handle the conflict.

This looks like a standard HTML 404 error page meant for a web browser.

This issue was also reported yesterday by an Ubuntu user on the OpenStreetMap
forum and confirmed by another user.[1]

I have also tried Merkaartor 0.16 from Squeeze today. The issue does not occur
there.

OK, I finally got an unstable server up (slow network connection) and
I can reproduce the bug in swaks. I don't know why the handshake
isn't happening properly (I don't think it's my problem) but lack of
error checking in swaks is the cause of the seg fault. The funny
thing is I refactored some TLS stuff for the next release and, while
doing so, added a bunch of error checking. If I test this server with
the latest swaks in SVN I get this instead of the segfault:

 -> STARTTLS
<- 220 Go ahead
*** TLS startup failed (error::lib(0):func(0):reason(0))
*** STARTTLS attempted but failed
 -> QUIT

I'll spend some time seeing if I can get a more descriptive error, but
I think the basic part of the fix is already there.

I see what you are seeing regarding tls1 working but not tls1_1 or
tls1_2. I don't know enough to understand whether this is something I
need to address in swaks itself. I could probably force specific
setting similar to how s_client is working, but I've never had to get
my hands that dirty before. Any thoughts on whether this is a problem
somewhere else that I can ignore (other than preventing the segfault)
or that I should address somehow?

Thanks

These packages are now transitional dummy packages to help upgrade from
wheezy, as the functionality has been taken over in various texlive-*
