Bug#600582: dolphin: information window.. poor information..
Hi, I think you may be happy with KDE 4.8.4 (testing version), as the information windows (and the info panel as well) include more complete : duration, size, mime type, etc. are now included. Could you please give a try to KDE 4.8.4 and confirm this, so I can close the bug ? If there is any information missing, I could report it to upstream. Bug#586665: sane-utils: scanimage -L segmentation fault
Hi, I think this bug is still present on my Debian testing : I am trying to use a HP C3180 scanner, by the network. This scanner is using hpaio. The scanner is connected in usb on my server (Debian stable). It is working locally, with scanimage test.pnm for instance. On my PC, scanimage -L find the network scanner. But scanimage segfault on my PC. I joined a backtrace and a ltrace. If you need more, please let me know. I don't know if it's related, but xsane find the network scanner, but freeze when acquiring an image. I have to say that scanimage -L does not segfault, but scanimage test.pnm does, everytime. My net.conf contain just the IP address of the server. Bug#678746: desktop-base: Joy theme is a mix of incompatibly-licensed works
Le mardi 26 juin 2012 11:38:11 Andreas Berger a écrit : As I've been asked to write Debian on the installer picture, could be there any license trouble to do so ? i made a version of the debian logo with a different font for my own theme recently. maybe it's of use, so i'll just post it here. the font is called 'Prociono', and it's public domain, that should be ok, right? Bug#678746: desktop-base: Joy theme is a mix of incompatibly-licensed works

But this may be fixed easily. ACK'd. I'll fix this tonight. Thank you! You're welcome! The major issue seems to be that the Joy plymouth theme mixes parts released under CC-by-sa-v3.0 and parts released under GPLv2+. Since CC-by-sa-v3.0 is incompatible with GPLv2+, I would say that the resulting work is legally undistributable. This *might* be true if it was two bits of code that get linked together, but since Plymouth (and the plugin, which is GPLv2) only render the CC-BY-SA 3.0 work, it should be fine. Well, if what you mean is that a GPL-licensed program loads a CC-licensed image (as input data) and renders it on the screen, then it seems that the license incompatibility is irrelevant. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but the debian/copyright file is not very clear on this. Hence, please, at least, clarify the debian/copyright file. I'll CC debian-leagl for comment OK, I am keeping debian-legal copied. [...] In this case, I'll modify this line to show the files that I edited are still GPLv2, and the images it's self is CC-BY-SA 3.0. No problem, no big deal. Yes, please: as I said above, a clarification is needed. [...] Since everything else in the desktop-base package is GPL-compatible, I strongly recommend to persuade Adrien Aubourg and Paul Tagliamonte I'm fine with whatever license comes up. I just wanted to keep consistancy. to re-license their work under the terms of the GNU GPL v2 or later. Or, at least, to dual-license it under CC-by-sa-v3.0 and GPLv2+. (In the latter case, the complete text of CC-by-sa-v3.0 should be included in the debian/copyright file, though.) My recommendation is very much related to consistency. Since rest of the package is all GPL-compatible, it would be really great if this new theme were GPL-compatible as well. Hence, I *still* recommend you to persuade Adrien Aubourg to re-license (or dual-license) under GPLv2+ ! I really hope this may be achieved. No need to convince me. Of course I'll re-license my work to GPL. I realised I made a mistake by licensing the work to CC. I'll change the Joy wiki page to indicate the licensed, and repost my works on debianart changing the license. Bug#678746: desktop-base: Joy theme is a mix of incompatibly-licensed works
The wiki page now only contain the material used for packaging, with mention of the GPLv2 license. The old proposals are still reachable, as the archive is still online. The debianart stuff has been partly reuploaded (only the stuff used for packaging is uploaded) to make the re-license appear on the debianart website. As I've been asked to write Debian on the installer picture, could be there any license trouble to do so ? Bug#674186: [digikam] external mysql db empty after database migration
Package: digikam Version: 4:2.6.0~rc-3 Severity: grave Hi, I am using Digikam from testing, with an external MySQL database. The last upgrade has been a total mess : the migration of the database has failed, and my db was totally empty after that. Fortunately I had a backup. I tried to migrate again with the wizard, but it failed the same way. Finally I found a solution : create a second database « digikam2 » (and « digikam_thumb2 » ), and run the wizard to migrate from digikam to digikam2. I recover my pictures, but the tags (stored in nepomuk) disappears… Haven't find any solution to recover them… :(( It seems to have a bug in the db migration, which delete all the data to migrate. Maybe when constructing the new schema ? Anyway, this behaviour should be corrected. Bug#657990: Single line patch
Hi, As Alexander mentionned, the real workaround is to replace the listening socket in /lib/systemd/system/systemd-initctl.socket with /run/initctl. It's not only a workaround, it is the thing to do, because this is the exact role of this file: provide SysV init compatibility, in a flexible way. Sorry if I don't provide a patch for this, but it's really a simple change to do. Have a nice day! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#657990: Temporary workaround
Hi, This is a very annoying bug, since everything rely on shutdown and reboot command. However calling directly systemctl poweroff or systemctl reboot works. Bug#655068: postfix: Ifdown script race condition with systemd unit
Package: postfix Version: 2.8.5-1.1 Severity: normal Hi, Using systemd with postfix can lead the system to hang on shutdown for about 30 seconds. In fact, systemd stops simultaneously and network interfaces. In the ifdown script of postfix, the PID file is found, so reload is called, even if the daemon has been shut down. Then systemd timeout, since the reload command never ends. It is hard for me to debug this further, but maybe a dependency should be set on systemd's postfix unit? Bug#506196: [postgresql] Proposed patches to avoid useless wakeups
Package: postgresql Version: 9.0.4 Tags: patch --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi, I see this is a longstanding issue. Of course, you can configure walwriter and bgwriter to sleep for 10s. However, because in some platforms, select doesn't react to signals, these sleeps have been splitted into 1s sleeps. 10-remove-sleep-cut.patch try to fix that. Moreover, the stats collector process waits for 2 seconds before looping, and it's hardcoded. 11-stats-infinite-wait.patch removes that limit. These are clearly not final patches. They work for me, that's it. Especially, the second patch should be tested in case when the postmaster crashes unexpectedly. The first patch removes sleep cuts for any platform other than WIN32. I have no clue of a nicer condition. If someone knows something about OS that don't honors signals while in select, please let me know, and I'll improve that patch. With that two patches applied, postgresql is very low on resource consuming when idling. That's my goal :) Adrien --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-686-pae Debian Release: wheezy/sid 500 unstable ftp.fr.debian.org 1 experimental ftp.fr.debian.org --- Package information. --- Package's Depends field is empty. Bug#635894: libgomp1: Linking a JNI library with openmp makes std::cerr::operator crash
Package: libgomp1 Version: 4.6.1-4 Severity: important When linking a C++ library which will be used with JNI with openmp, this makes std::cerr::operator crashes when this library is used inside a JVM. A test case is provided in the .tar.gz available here: http://public.geekou.info/jni-openmp.tar.gz . It contains a library (libtestcerr.so) that implements a JNI interface, the Java class that goes with that interface, a Makefile and a small bash script to execute the test. Bug#635536: [grisbi] the drop-down menu are too small

With some dual-screen setups, there is a dead area off-screen that applications think is there. No need to try with another screen and the same setup! Hi, I're right, It is a misconfiguration of the dual screen, when I remove my second screen… So it's a KDE pb and not a grisbi one :-) You can close the bug. Bug#635536: [grisbi] the drop-down menu are too small
En cette agréable journée du mardi 26 juillet 2011, Stéphane Glondu a écrit : I'm using GNOME, and the menus are above (see attachment). It seems strange that using GNOME or KDE would have an impact. Can you try with GNOME? Alternatively, can you try to reproduce the problem with another GTK application on KDE? Gnome is not installed on my computer, I juste have KDE. However, I tried with theWidgetFactory and I reproduce this bug, but only with the GtkCombo. The GtkComboBoxEntry works well. It seems that the GtkCombo is deprecated in favor of GtkComboBoxEntry since GTK+ 2.4 : http://developer.gnome.org/gtk/2.24/GtkCombo.html I haven't found any other GtkCombo in my Gtk softwares : Gimp, Inkscape, dia… If grisbi is still using GtkCombo, maybe it can be a solution to replace them with GtkComboBoxEntry ? Tomorrow I will try with another physical screen. Bug#607914: [Pkg-openssl-devel] Bug#607914: [openssl] Padlock not found at all
Hi again, I have some bad news : With the package you provided, when padlock is enabled (either in /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf to be used by default, or in nginx configuration, or in Apache configuration), I got the following error, either from wget or Iceweasel : OpenSSL: error:140943FC:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert bad record mac If I disable it, everything is back to normal, except that the padlock engine isn't used. So yes, it works for benchmarks, but when used by webservers, it doesn't. Maybe I missed a package? Package: decibel-audio-player Version: 1.04-1 Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi ! I'm looking for a simple audio player, and Decibel hit the top of the list. However, to be fully usable, I need a slight modification in the package. When I select multiple audio files in Thunar and click Play with Decibel, multiple instances are spawn. This is due to a lacking argument in the Exec entry in the desktop file. In fact, the Freedesktop specifications (http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s06.html) mentions that with %f, the system should assume that the application can't manage multiple files on its command line, and should run multiple instances, whereas with %F, all files can be pushed to the same single instance. Can you please add the dependency to make in the systemtap package metadata? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages systemtap depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdw10.148-1library that provides access to th ii libelf1 0.148-1library to read and write ELF file ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.3-1SQLite 3 shared library ii libstdc++64.4.5-8The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii systemtap-common 1.2-5 instrumentation system for Linux 2 ii systemtap-runtime 1.2-5 instrumentation system for Linux 2 systemtap recommends no packages.
