Bug#746491: vim: Ctrl+PgUp (and Down) does not switch beteen tabs
On Sun, Aug 02, 2015 at 08:49:49PM -0400, James McCoy wrote: Hmm. I thought gnome-terminal captured C-PgUp/C-PgDown, but I know xterm doesn't. True (I didn't know). Can you try with vim -u NONE -N -p ... and see if that works? I tried and, when I realized that without vimrc it worked, I started playing with my (bare) .vimrc and I found that I did place a colorscheme setting __before__ the syntax on. Swapping them makes Ctrl+PgUp||PGDown working (in xterm). I know my settings din't make any sense and I'm sorry for the inconvenience. However, this side-effect looks a bit awkward. I'm using /usr/bin/gnome-terminal.wrapper via /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator I just tried: opened 7 files (verified .vimrc not containing any remap): Ctrl+PgUp/PgDown does nothing. Also verified that Ctrl is not captured by WM: Ctrl+V enters the visual block as it should. Did you happen to start using a different terminal when this started happening? I think I never changed my terminal but, I'm afraid, I cannot be 100% sure. However, I tried also with xterm and /usr/bin/xfce4-terminal.wrapper and nothing changes. Bug#695727: libgrib-api-dev: should be built with the default gfortran
Package: libgrib-api-dev Version: 1.9.16-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, to have a coherent system of lib*-dev in fortran, all of them should be built with the same version of fortran compiler. Because of a weird design of fortran, modules are not portable. Modules produced with a compiler are not compatible with another compiler or another version of the same compiler. At present in sid, default gfortran (package gfortran) points to gfortran-4.7 (gcc-4.7) but libgrib-api-dev is built with gfortran-4.6. This is clearly, because latest version of libgrib-api-dev was released before (Mon, 16 Apr 2012) the upgrade from gcc from 4.6 to 4.7 (Mon, 07 May 2012) but I wonder whether an (pseudo?)automatic procedure should be devised to rebuild all the necessary libs when a new version of gfortran implies a backward incompatibility. In any case, at present, a program that uses both libgrib-api-dev and, for instance, libnetcdf-dev (currently built with gfortran-4.7) cannot be built at all in sid. Bug#524607: problem disappeared
today I upgraded the whole X system and the problem of having garbage when switching to console (and hibernating/suspendig) disappeared. -- Alberto Maurizi a.maur...@isac.cnr.it ISAC-CNR Phone n. +39 051 639 9615 via Gobetti 101 Fax n. +39 051 639 9658 I-40129 Bologna, Italy home page: http://bolchem.isac.cnr.it/staff:alberto_maurizi.do bolchem project:http://bolchem.isac.cnr.it -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#524607: still unresolved :(
I noticed a new version of xserver-xorg-video-intel, tried to install (i.e. upgrade form the downgraded testing version) but ... the same problem: switching to console restarts X (after showing garbage on the screen). No to say that, because this problems also affects suspend/hibernate (they switch to console first), causes system to be less usable as well as data loss. Tell me if there is anything I can do. Bug#524607: xserver-xorg: Ctrl+Alt+F1 kills X rather to switch to console
Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.3+18 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss The probles is exactly as described in the subject: X is killed by the sequence Ctrl+Alt+Fn whichever n. This also affects hibernate becasue when hibernate wants to switch to console while freezing the status, X is killed, login manager restarted and then hibernate hangs. The testing version does not displey this bug. The reason for tagging as critical this bug comes from the fact that if one relies on the expected behaviour user data in open X application get lost when switching to console or hibernating. -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/x11/X.roster: xserver-xorg /var/lib/x11/X.md5sum does not exist. I will try again to check whether my laptop hibernates or not, and let you know in a while. I would like to know whether it is possible that the gnome-power-manager behaviour is influenced by some other power-management related packages. I'm not sure I understand the rationale for power-management and I feel always unecure on this ground, for instance if some package can manage power events instead of gnome-power-manager. In my computer I found: - acpid installed but acpi-support not installed - powernowd (that actually I do not undestand and don't know if it interacts with gnome-power-manager to set frequencies) - cpufrequtils (suggested by pm-utils) - powermgmt-base and pm-utils that seem to be required by system-level packages Is this relevant? Thanks Dr. Markus Waldeck gnome-power-manager detects two batteries and is a bit confused about the status of them. to solve this it is necessary to unset CONFIG_ACPI_SYSFS_POWER however it would be better to adapt gnome-power-manager to the SYS power tree rather tha maintaining an ad-hoc kernel for it. -- Alberto Maurizi [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.augh.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. It seems that the problem was more general: apt-upgrade was found to do the same (hanging). However I think this is related to some bad interaction with etckeeper, which is probably the bugged one.
