Bug#417850: Caps Lock don't work

2007-04-05 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
Hi,

It would be nice if the reporter could let us know exaclty which
version of Etch he tried, as Etch isn't out yet and there are install
images generated almost daily on cdimage.debian.org .

I installed an Etch machine yesterday using the official d-i's RC2 and
I coudn't reproduce this problem. I'm using an ABNT2 keyboard as well.
Also, today I dist-upgraded to sid and it's still working perfectly,
both at the console and at GNOME.

What exact image are you using for the installation and what installation
 method?

I can confirm this problem. I did a test install on the last friday
(10/06/2006) and experienced exactly this problem. I did not report it
yet because I was expecting to test a daily image to see if it was
already fixed.

   The image I used was
http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/weekly/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-binary-1.iso
from 10/02/2006, md5sum 8fe60d622b81bd1e1ae0df128adf6313 .

The installation method was using the full iso-cd image listed above
from within a VMware virtual machine.

Is it a full CD image or something else?

It's a full CD image as noted above.

Are you sure that it is a real Beta 3 image and not a weekly built image?
What is the md5sum of the image?

The one I tested, as said above, is a weekly built image from
10/02/2006. The md5sum is the one also noted above.

Can you provide the syslog for the installation (gzipped)?

Unfortunately I don't have access to this virtual machine anymore so
no way to provide syslog. But I'm planning to test one of the later
daily images and chech if it's already fixed.

I'll try to do it on Monday as I have no testing infrastructure
available at home. The initial testing I did was at a work computer on
the office.

Bug#391529: Etch installer freezed by tzdata

2006-10-08 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hello,

Aurelien Jarno escreveu:
 reassign 391529 tzdata
 severity 391529 serious
 thanks

 Hi,

I am now able to reproduce this bug. The problem is that the postinst of
tzdata ask a question to the user, not via debconf, so it is not displayed.

The bug has been triggered by the fact the version of tzdata in d-i
 beta3 and testing is different.

The solution is to rewrite the postinst of tzdata + tzconfig using debconf.

Ok, fine that you found it. However, in the meantime, I managed to
setup a basic infrastructure to let me test the latest netinst image
(http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/20061008/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso
with md5sum f256549427efa2782f0253fc29553caf).

I just finished doing a test install and this time the problem didn't
showed up. I don't know if there's a difference on how tzdata is
installed between full CD images and netinst images but somehow this
time the problem wasn't there.

And yes, tzdata is installed on the target system. I just turned on
the virtual machine where the test install metioned above was done and
could see that tzdata is there at version 2006l-1.

That was exactly the same version I had problems with on my first
install in the last friday. The only difference in today's install from
friday's install (apart from the former being a netinst iso-cd install
from today and later being a full CD image install) is that in the later
(the one which the problem was detected) I opted to install the Desktop
environment task and the Standard system task.

In today's install, which worked fine, I only selected the Standard
system task, but tzdata was installed anyway so I don't think it had
anything to do with this problem.

Reporting just to let you guys know about these details.

Bug#387797: iso-codes: [INTL:pt_BR] Please use the attached updated translation

2006-09-16 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
Package: iso-codes
Version: 0.53-1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch l10n

Hello,

Please find attached an updated Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) translation
of iso-codes. This one fixes 3 fuzzy strings and bring pt_BR back to
100% translated.

You can opt to use the fully file attached or apply the patch. I included
both as many maintainers ask for the full file to avoid enconding or
different environments and charsets getting in the way.

For debian-l10n-portuguese@lists.debian.org readers (which will receive
a copy of this message also) : I'm not sending this update for review
because it's only three new translations of cities/places which I found
quickly on an online dictionary, but feel free to send sugestions of
improvements to this bug report if you wish.

Regards,

Bug#385913: vim-scripts: ftplugin's po.vim is not matching fuzzy and unstranslated strings

2006-09-03 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
Package: vim-scripts
Version: 7-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

I used to use ftplugin's po.vim functionality a lot while translating .po
files from English to Portuguese. I did not worked on translations for
some weeks and now that I tried to come back to translation work I found
some problems.

ftplugin's po.vim functionality of matching the next fuzzy and the next
unstralated strings, as well as matching a fuzzy or a unstranstaled string
forward isn't working.

The features I use most are the following ones :

 Action (Insert mode)GUI Vim Vim
 ===
Move to an untransl. string forward S-F1 \m
Move to an untransl. string backwardS-F2 \p
Move to the next fuzzy translation S-F5 \f
Move to the previous fuzzy translation S-F6 \b

Unfortunately, none of these keybindings is working anymore, which makes
my translation work quite painful while working on large .po files (as
debian-installer's).

The only thing I have im my ~/.vimrc is :

syntax on
set incsearch
set foldmethod=manual
set autoindent
set ruler
set nocompatible
set textwidth=74
set encoding=utf-8
set fileencoding=utf-8

I don't know what else I should be looking for so I would be glad to help
testing and being your lab mice for any experiment you would ask me to do
if said experiment could potentially give me my precious features back :-)

Bug#383555: confirming bug is fixed with package from mentors

2006-08-18 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

I can confirm that, as maks said, the fixed packages from
mentors.debian.net indeed fixes this bug.

I took the sources from mentors, built it localy, installed the
generated packages and went back to using the nuke call in
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/udev instead of the rm
- -rf workaround I was using.

A reboot confirmed that everything came up again as expected. The
error messages are still there, but as Marco said they are harmless.

Would you please be so kind to use the attached translation instead of the
one already included into the alsa-driver package ? The one attached is

We are trying to convert as many translations as possible as
debian-installer now's installing systems using UTF-8 instead of the Sarge
behaviour of using ISO-8859-1.

Bug#373995: Please disconsider the previous translation, use this one instead

2006-06-16 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
Hello,

I took some time to check out the last bugzilla version in sid, 2.22-1,
and found that it's already fully translated. Well, it seems that my last
translation was against a very old version as I was trying to remove some
past pending translations.

Anyway, I also noticed that even the fully translated version wasn't
encoded as UTF-8 yet and instead used ISO-8859-1. We
(debian-l10n-portuguese@lists.debian.org) are in the proccess of
converting all our translations from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8 as
debian-installer was changed since etch beta2 to install a UTF-8 system by
default.

I converted bugzilla's 2.22-1 based translation and attached it to this
message. Could you plese use the one attached to this message instead of
the one currently already available into bugzilla's Debian package ?

The affected file is debian/po/pt_BR.po file in xorg-x11's SVN repository.

Bug#320598: axyl: [PATCH] Please don't mark internal use only templates as translatable

2005-07-30 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
Package: axyl
Version: 2.1.7
Severity: minor
Tags: patch l10n

Hello,

While updating Axyl's Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) debconf template
translation I noticed that there's a template marked as translatable which
is said to be of internal use only.

If I don't translate it, as indicated, msgfmt will indicate that there's
one fuzzy template left to be translated and tools like
http://www.debian.org/international/l10n/po-debconf/pt_BR will never
indicate that axyl's Brazilian Portuguese debconf template transation is
100%.

Could you please apply the attached patch so the internal use only
template won't be exported to individual lang.po files ?

Bug#294075: Please update debconf PO translation for the package apt

2005-02-13 Thread Andre Luis Lopes
On Tue, Feb 08, 2005 at 05:39:52PM +0100, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
 Hi,

Hello Christian,

You are noted as the last translator of the apt Debian package.

This package currently has two branches in Debian:

-the sarge or 0.5 branch is highly likely to be the version shipped
with the sarge release. The translation of this version is currently
  complete for your language

-the maint or 0.6 branch is currently only used in the experimental
branch of Debian but there is currently some discussion about pushing it to
sarge because it brings very important features such as packages
  authentication

Whether it will finally be in sarge HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED yet by the release
 team.

However, after discussions with the release team, we decided to anticipate
this by pre-requesting updates to translators.

Even if the current version is kept in sarge, your update will not be wasted
and will be commited in the 0.6 branch.

This mail is only sent to translators with complete translations, of course.

PLEASE RESPECT the Reply-To: field and send your updated translation to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] For avoiding confusion, we will collect all updates
 in only ONE bug report.

 Thanks,

Christian, in name of the APT package maintainer.

Attached you'll find an already updated Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR)
translation for apt's maint branch (as explained above).
