thanks for your answer.

After further investigations, I have found a probable cause for this
issue:

debian/patches/clamd_dont_depend_on_clamav_demon_socket.patch was
mistakenly backported from the stretch upload.

This should not have been backported, because the jessie package is still
providing the systemd socket, which was removed from the stretch
package in

0.99.2+dfsg-3 because of #824042[0].

I did not backport this removal because I considered it too intrusive

I have prepared a regression update addressing this issue. It would be a

Furthermore, /var/run/clamav/ belonging to root:root or clamav:root does
not seem to change anything on my system. My understanding is that
/var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl is created by systemd, not by the daemon itself.

Also, I don't think chown clamav /var/run/clamav should survive a restart.

Package: libreoffice
Version: 1:6.1.5~rc1-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
After installed upgrade from debian strecth to debian buster/testing.
When i openned the new instaled Libreoffice i noticed that the globalmenu was
duplicated. I confirmed that dont was two plasmoids, bacause other apps work
normaly. This only happens with libreoffice.

The fisrt menu are displayed but not functional and the second menu are totaly
functional.

The same occurs on write, calc, and impress.

Here is a screenshot of the problem:
http://tinypic.com/r/2z4joth/9

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Nothing that i tried are effective to resolve this.

Bug#888656: flowcanvas: should this package be removed? (superseded by ganv)

2018-09-10 Thread Filipe Coelho

hey all.

ladish is pretty much dead.
that said, you could build the project with just the backend/CLI, and
leave the gtk ui behind.
this satisfies cadence (claudia) needs, since it actually implements a
full new frontend for ladish.

if that is not an option, just remove ladish altogether and take it out
as dependency from cadence.

it is not a hard requirement for it to run, it will just lose some features.

On 10.09.2018 22:20, Paul Brossier wrote:

hi all,

flowcanvas should definitely removed, and ganv adopted, since it is
being used in newer tools such as Cadence (see
https://github.com/falkTX/Cadence)

ideally, ladish should be switched from using flowcanvas to using ganv.
I started looking at that, but there is quite a few API changes between
flowcanvas and ganv, so it is a bit more than a trivial search and replace.

Maybe drobilla or falktx (CCed) would want to help here?

cheers, piem

flowcanvas depends on numerous obsolete GNOME 2-era libraries
(e.g. #885095) and hasn't had a maintainer upload since 2009. Its
upstream
website says:

**Note**: FlowCanvas is dead, long live Ganv!

ganv is also in Debian as src:ganv; it's orphaned in Debian, but appears
to have commit activity upstream.

flowcanvas has one reverse-dependency in Debian, gladish (src:ladish),
whose most recent maintainer upload was in 2014. web.archive.org says
the ladish.org website has been down since mid 2014.

ladish looks to be maintained by alessio (last commit 20 Apr 2017) here :
https://github.com/alessio/ladish/
(the same goes laditools as well)

These packages both seem like candidates for removal from unstable.

It would be a big regression from a user point of view since it'll remove
the "studio" (reopen everything in one-click) from Debian with no
alternative.

If you agree, please reassign this bug to the ftp team with
cont...@bugs.debian.org commands similar to these:

severity xx normal
reassign xx ftp.debian.org
retitle xx RM: flowcanvas -- RoQA; depends on obsolete libraries,
superseded by ganv

severity yy normal
reassign yy ftp.debian.org
retitle yy RM: ladish -- RoQA; depends on obsolete libraries,

(replacing RoQA with RoM if you are a maintainer of the appropriate
package).

Bug#791484: qgit: When a pre-commit hook prints something, QGit conciders that an error

2018-08-28 Thread Filipe Rinaldi
Hi,

Due to some limitations (see [1]) QGit user the STDERR to detect whether a
git command failed.
Note that the pre-commit hook sample from git sets all output to be done on
the stderr. In this case, I believe the user built his hook based on the
example and is printing out on the stderr even though it is not meant to
represent an error.

Bug#620225: GTK+ UI errors: segfaults, floating-point exceptions, pango error

2013-02-01 Thread Bruno Filipe Oliveira Ramos
Package: reportbug
Version: 6.4.3
Followup-For: Bug #620225

Dear Maintainer,

I have been looking at this problem and I think I might have some clues on what
is causing the error.

From what I could find in my searches (gdb mainly) the problem is related to
the fact the reportbug is updating the UI directly from a thread.

Apparently the right way to update the UI directly from a thread is to use
gobject.idle_add().

From the traces I got from gdb it seems that the problem was coming from the
call to label.set_text () so I modified all the calls to that to use idle_add.
And everything seems to be working ok here, no crashes for me now.

I hope this helps or at least could give you some clues on how to fix the
problem.

I'm not a python programmer so please take my patch with a grain of salt :)

Best regards,

Bruno Ramos

be asked for on install. And that the problem is related to debconf priority...

Running dpkg-reconfigure afterward did prompt for the information to create the
user, and when given the admin key the user was created successfully.

Best regards,

Bruno Ramos

Bug#692999: gtkvncviewer: Application does not exit when using the close button in the window

2012-11-11 Thread Bruno Filipe Oliveira Ramos
Package: gtkvncviewer
Version: 0.4-2.2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when closing gtkvncviewer with the close button of the window the application
does not exit.

This can be tested by starting a terminal and then start gtkvncviewer from the
terminal.

When you use the Quit button directly from the application everything works
correctly (application exits and you get the terminal prompt back).
When you close the application with the x button in the window you can see that
the process is still running in the terminal(you don't get the prompt back).

Best regards,

Bruno Ramos

I'm afraid I had not the chance to test the compiled module; however,
the previous Debian kernel version did not have this problem and the
module worked fine, as neither does the upstream 2.6.35.14 I'm using
(nor the upstream 2.6.32.45); I've tested against e1000e-1.4.4,
e1000e-1.5.1 and e1000e-1.6.2 with the same results.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Hi Maintainer,

rejected, your debian/copyright file is incomplete and misses
(C)holders/license data. You have to include all such differences.

Like lib/phusion_passenger/railz/cgi_fixed.rb, the files in ext/oxt/,
test/support/valgrind.h (which even has the bad 4clause BSD that is gpl
incompatible, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#OriginalBSD),
the vendor/* stuff and maybe others too. You do have to list such
differences.

Bug#488753: (forw) Re: Boost bundling

2009-03-06 Thread Filipe Lautert

Hello,

*Mark/FTP Masters team*,

As stated in e-mail below from Hongli Lai (passenger's mainstream),
boost library has modifications specific to passenger, so we won't be
able to use a generic library package.

Is this case, I request that you ACCEPT this package.

*Micah*,

thanks for your kindly help on this issue. I've been running out of time
lately and was just keeping my other packages in shape, leaving
passenger behind.

Best regards to you all,

filipe

Micah Anderson wrote:

In an effort to try and determine where the situation with Passenger in
Debian is stalled, I went on a small adventure to figure out where
things are. What follows is the details of the current situation, as
well as a helpful explanation from the Passenger folks. I intend to
respond to that message when I can, but first I wanted to get the
current state of things loaded up into this bug report, so others can
see where things are at.

First I found that Passenger/mod_rails had been uploaded to NEW[0] some
four months ago by Leandro Nunes dos Santos
leandronu...@safernet.org.br and Filipe Lautert fil...@debian.org.

However, it had not been accepted by the FTP masters, and as such it was
not part of the archive yet. Typically when there is a delay such as
this in accepting the package into the archive there is some problem,
either legal/licensing or technical that is keeping the package from
being accepted. I contacted a member of the FTP team to ask what the
hold-up was and was told the reason is because passenger has an embedded
copy of boost and the FTP team has asked the maintainer at least twice
about it and have received no reply.

The embedded code problem is an interesting one, one that I have been
involved in over the years working in on testing-security where we've
been forced to track embedded code copies in Debian[1] so that we could
have a chance to deal with security issues in embedded code copies. (A
prominently horrible example is the xpdf code-base which was at one time
embedded in more than 10 different source packages in Sarge, this was
reduced in Etch significantly thanks to the xpdf library fork called
poppler which packages were encouraged to link against, instead of
embedding).

As a result of these issues causing significant number of hours to
track, update and manage, with many clever technical solutions developed
to do things like use the clamav signature mechanisms to scan the entire
archive, etc. Eventually the Debian project saw fit to adopt a policy[2]
with specific language about embedded convenience copies of code
(section 4.13). And this is where Passenger is currently stuck.

I took a little bit of time the other day to try and figure out why
Passenger embedded Boost and could not find much rationale online, until
I found an older blog post[3] about the 1.0.2 release that contains this
snippet:

Fixed conflicts with system-provided Boost library

Passenger makes use of the Boost C++ library. Its sources are
included into the Passenger sources. But if the system already has a
different Boost version installed, then the two Boost libraries
would conflict with each other, and Passenger would fail to
install. We’ve made sure that this doesn’t happen: now, installation
will succeed even if there’s already another Boost version
installed.

This is a good first effort, however I believe that this solution
doesn't get at the root of the problem and instead makes one of the
symptoms go away instead of solving the problem. So I posted to the
comments section of the blog asking for more details, and describing the
issue around embedding copies of other code, and then received the
following response in email (which I have obtained permission to forward
here):

Hi Micah,

I saw your reply to my blog about making Boost a build dependency, but I'm
afraid your arguments do not hold in our case:

- The best argument for wanting to depend on Boost dynamically, is to make
it easier to solve security problems. However, upgrading the Boost library
will only partially fix security problems. That's because most Boost code
live in C++ header files, which get inlined directly by the compiler into
the executable. If a security flaw was found in a header then you'd have to
recompile the executable that uses Boost even if Boost is a shared library.

- Most people don't have Boost installed, or don't have the right version
of Boost installed. By far and large, most of our users are _not_ Debian
users, and installing Boost is a huge huge pain for 80% of our user base.
By _not_ bundling Boost we'll alienate most of our users. I have a
different software program which does not bundle Boost, and the #1 support
question by users is related

Yeap, you weren't. I was contacted... the maintainer in this case is the
package maintainer. And I'd no time to go after this

I understand why Debian has adopted this policy. However, as explained
in the forwarded email, Phusion Passenger uses a modified version of
Boost.

We accept full responsibility for any security problems found in

hey James.

the link do not have any patch to a --clean option... I running out of
time lately, but if you could provide a --clean clear patch I can just
add this to the package and release it ASAP.

Otherwise. we will need to wait some time until I've some time to
spare and create this patch.

As they're using the same packages than Debian, this is indeed of not
 much surprise.

But thanks anyway for the care you took bringing precisions...

Hi,

Did the following.

Downloaded samba-3.2.6.tar.gz from samba.org, untared, and just run
./configure followed by make under the samba-3.2.6/source folder;
chdir to bin, then export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/src/samba-3.2.6/source/bin and ./net rpc
shutdown -r -f -t 0 -d 3 -W DTSI-RSISTEMAS -U Administrator -S
192.168.1.66.

Worked for me (output bellow). I'm running an up to date Lenny
installation.

BTW, I guess you already know of these, but anyway (seemed like the same
thing to me):

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=424634
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5898

If you like, I may try the same thing with samba-3.2.5.tar.gz from
samba.org, as bug #5898 from Samba states the issue is dealt with in
3.2.5. (I do not know if the changes that were made from the original
tar.gz are supposed to affect anything in Debian).

Kind regards,

Filipe

Bug#488753: Can I pack this?

2008-09-30 Thread filipe

Opa Leandro, td bem?

http://apt.brightbox.net/pool/main/p/passenger/

filipe

 Hy Filipe,

 Can I make this package?

I need it in my job.

 Cheers,

  Version : 2.0.1

Description : Rails and Rack module for Apache2

Phusion Passenger — a.k.a. mod_rails — makes deployment of
applications built on Ruby on Rails web framework a breeze.
Passenger is an Apache2 module and it's ability to automatically
manage Rails server processes lowers system administration,
while retaining stability/robustness and performance.

There is a guy (Neil Wilson) who already started to package
passenger to Ubuntu. I'll contact him and see what we

So is the main complaint that,

 1. deb doesn't *install* the gem, OR
 2. deb doesn't flag in gem database that rails 2.0.2 was installed and
available

#1 is not possible

#2 is interesting.

I started to do this for mongrel_cluster. Itś easy to do it, just create a
file inside gems directory. This way you can fool it. Just need a patch
like this one:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~.../trunk/debian$
cat patches/001_add_gemspec_file.diff
--- mongrel_cluster-1.0.1.1.gemspec-orig	1969-12-31

+Gem::Specification.new do |s|
+  s.name = %q{mongrel_cluster}
+ s.version = 1.0.1.1
+  s.date = %q{2007-03-20}
+ s.summary = %q{Mongrel plugin that provides commands and Capistrano
tasks for managing multiple Mongrel processes.}
+ s.files = [lib/mongrel_cluster, lib/mongrel_cluster/init.rb,

+ s.add_dependency('gem_plugin', '=0.2.2')
+ s.add_dependency('mongrel', '=1.0.1')
+ s.author = Bradley Taylor
+end

And then install it on gem specific directory:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~.../trunk/debian$
cat install | grep spec

mongrel_cluster-1.0.1.1.gemspec var/lib/gems/1.8/specifications/

I created this a long time ago (1 year), so maybe today it's kind of
different because of gems 1.0. But the idea shall be the same...

Also, I'm not sure if installing something inside gems directory can't
make it crazy. I'm not sure, but I think that if try to run gems to
install mongrel_cluster (in my case) it returned some error... but not
sure, long time I don't play with this..

Yes, I can. But in that case why do we need rails debian package.
If we has it it should follow normal work flow and use gems.

Why? I don't want to use 2 package management tools - only apt-get is
enough for me.
And that's all about open source: I like rails Debian package, so I use

No, it hasn't. This is strange, because for all architectures it uses cc
to compile, like this:

cc -I. -I. -I/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux
-I/build/buildd/mongrel-1.1.3/ext/http11 -fPIC -fno-strict-aliasing -g -O2
-fPIC -c http11_parser.c

But in m68k it calls gcc-4.1:
gcc-4.1 -I. -I. -I/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/m68k-linux
-I/build/buildd/mongrel-1.1.3/ext/http11 -fPIC -fno-strict-aliasing -g -O2
-fPIC -c http11.c

In all archs it was built using gcc 4.2 too. It seems that when it run
extconf.rb to generate the Makefile in m68k it did not found the cc command
(!?).

Bug#441668: patch

2007-11-30 Thread Filipe

tags 441668 + patch
thanks

Hello,

so, this issue is happening because postgresql in sid is now version
8.2, not 8.1 anymore. This package is failling to build because it
needs package postgresql-server-dev-8.2, not postgresql-server-dev-8.1.

This patch here changes version of package to 8.2 in debian/control and
also adds a patch to patch directory that adds an include to file
postgresql-pljava-1.3.0/src/C/pljava/XactListener.c, that is needed
because of postgresql version bump.

Cheers,

Hi,

upstream ruby removed file version.h . But we already have lots of fixes
based on string RUBY_VERSION_CODE, so it's easier to recreate this
version.h for ruby1.9 package. This patch fix this bug.

It also fix another bug introduced by ruby1.9 upstream changes.

Bug#451873: mongrel: Mongrel fails to start because http11.so is in fact a win32 DLL

Huh!? Whoa. for some reason upstream is shipping http11.so for windows
and http11.jar into sources lib dir. But this only applies to upstrea
tgz file and not for the gem file - this explain why it was not detected
so far. gonna fix this in the upstream jar and then upload a new version
here.

Thanks for the report!

Bug#446996: mongrel: should not depend on rubygems

2007-10-17 Thread Filipe

Hi,

well, acctually it depends on libgems-ruby1.8 . Do you consider this to
be the same as depend on rubygems? Also, I don't know if it will be easy
to remove this dependency because mongrel plugin system
(libgemplugin-ruby) uses some functions of libgems-ruby1.8. I'n not sure
at the moment, but AFAIK only libgemplugin-ruby call methods from
libgems-ruby1.8, so maybe this dependency could be dropped from mongrel,
but it is needed in libgemplugin-ruby. Otherwise, a plugin library for
rubygems without rubygems support would be funny :D

On Wed, 17 Oct 2007, Lucas Nussbaum wrote:

Hi,

From what I remember from our rubygems discussions, the conclusion was
that the rubygems package was here for users to install packages, not
for other packages to use it. [0]

[0] http://pkg-ruby-extras.alioth.debian.org/rubygems.html

That's why several packages apply patches during build, so they don't
need rubygems anymore.

However, it's not the case of mongrel: it depends on rubygems.

Should we fix mongrel, or change our position on rubygems?

I get a consistent segfault when attempting to parse a file.

Code to reproduce:

require 'xml/libxml'
doc = XML::Document.file('jbo-en.xml')

It should be noted that this file is over a megabyte in size. I can make
it available via the web upon request. I cannot get a segfault when testing with
other XML files, so there's something particular about this file that's
causing the segfault. I attempted an strace, the most relevant part I
reproduce here:

read(3, ord=\caution\ valsi=\o\'i\ /\n\nn..., 4096) = 4096
brk(0xf72000) = 0xf72000
read(3, word=\robe\ valsi=\pastu\ /\n\n..., 4096) = 4096
read(3, lword word=\sea lion\ valsi=\pin..., 4096) = 4096
brk(0xf93000) = 0xf93000
read(3, re and during\ valsi=\pujeca\ /..., 4096) = 4096
brk(0xfb4000) = 0xfb4000
read(3, \ sense=\cause to begin again\ v..., 4096) = 4096
close(3)= 0
munmap(0x2acfa33af000, 4096)= 0
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---

It also seems to be particular to the Ruby bindings, as the Python
bindings to libxml2 have no such problem. (I can open the file just
fine, but the Python bindings are... ugly.)

As I wrote in [1], PostgreSQL 7.4 and 8.1 are going away in Lenny.

Your package currently builds a PostgreSQL extension for 7.4 and/or
8.1. Please change this to only build an extension for 8.2.

Thank you!

Bug#402391: ITP: daemons -- Wrapper library to run Ruby scripts as daemons

2007-04-24 Thread filipe
Hello,

I´m Filipe from the debian pkg-ruby-extras team, and we also have a package for
daemons.
I created the package around the same date that you and I haven´t noticed your
ITP.
One issue with daemons is that it can replace the package libdaemonize-ruby,
because daemons includes daemonize.rb. So, in our package we have a stub to
daemonize.rb so we can drop libdaemonize-ruby package.

I´ve take a look at your package and it seems a lot like ours, so I ask you: do
you mind if I take this ITP for me and upload my version of daemons? It would
be great because then I can coordinate the actions with the debian
pkg-ruby-extras team also.

You can see my package at [1].

Regards,

Filipe

Following this thread I could get auth_pam to work, but for each action
that I take it prints the following in my apache error.log:

Bug#412532: ITP: postgresql-plsh -- PL/sh procedural language for PostgreSQL.

2007-02-26 Thread Filipe Lautert
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Filipe Lautert [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: postgresql-plsh
  Version : 1.2
Upstream Author : Peter Eisentraut [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://plsh.projects.postgresql.org/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C
Description : PL/sh procedural language for PostgreSQL

PL/sh is a procedural language handler for PostgreSQL that allows you
to write stored procedures in a shell of your choice. For example,

CREATE FUNCTION concat(text, text) RETURNS text AS '
#!/bin/sh
echo $1$2
' LANGUAGE plsh;

The first line must be a #!-style line that indicates the shell to
use. The rest of the function body will be executed by that shell in
a separate process.

The shell script can do anything you want, but you can't access the
database. Trigger functions are also possible, but they can't change
the rows.

4754 root:root does not work for me.

Actually, 6754 is what we would need, but that probably is against

Bug#409629: rhino: Bug opened by bug #395525

2007-02-08 Thread Filipe Lautert
Package: rhino
Version: 1.6r2-3
Followup-For: Bug #409629

This bug was introduced because of the fix for bug #395525:
 * debian/patches/02-dont_build-toolsrc.patch: added. Don't build
 * toolsrc and xmlimplsrc because they use Sun classes to build. If you want
 * to build them, just remove the file (closes: #395525).'

Rhino tries to run a class inside tools package, but this package is no
more build. So, maybe those donwloaded classes should be
shipped whith rhino diff file then it can be compiled without downloads.

The source is downloaded from [1], the article in [2] and the source
files doesn't says anything about license, so the license that is aplied
to the source is [3] (berkeley).

Bug#405555: libruby1.8 should replaces/provides/conflicts with libdevel-logger-ruby1.8

2007-01-12 Thread Filipe

ruby. I'm not sure if the conflicts should go to ruby unless the new
ruby also has devel/logger.rb or application.rb. This doesn't seem to be
the case though.

Rather than a file conflict, this is a conflict of functionality; a target
use for the proposed Breaks dpkg field.

Yes, when breaks be out rails can use it.

I think I'll just add the needed conflicts for Etch and remove it in the
next upload after Etch is released. Seems like that may be the path of
least resistance.

While direct upgrades from sarge to lenny won't be supported, it would be
more accurate to just leave the Conflicts: in (or change it to Breaks:)
because the problem won't have disappeared, it'll just be less likely to be
encountered. (Well, maybe ruby1.8 will be deprecated by lenny, I guess
that's one possibility. :)

Matz said ruby 1.9.1 will be out by Christmas 07 let's hope he can
meet that deadline and lenny will have ruby1.9 :D

/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/logger.rb was already provided by libruby1.8 in sarge.
Why does the libruby1.8 in etch handle /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/devel/logger.rb
any
differently than libruby1.8 in sarge did?

Yes, but the functionality provided by libdevel-logger-ruby is the same
that libruby1.8 provides.

That's fine, but doesn't explain why a conflict is needed. *libruby1.8*
seems to coexist with libdevel-logger-ruby1.8 without any problems at all;
there are no conflicting file paths, and no problems I can see that result
from having two logger.rb files in the ruby include path, given that they
should be functionally equivalent.

Well, okay. But this package isn't in etch, so if there is a bug in it,
it cannot be solved.

And libruby1.8 replaces/provides/conflicts with all small libraries that
were part of it when it was split in ruby 1.6. So, I thought it was the
right place to add one more conflict, to keep the pattern and not to
spread it throught other packages.

If libruby1.8 already provides this functionality, then it should
remove the old (and wrong) one.

Should doesn't really explain why you marked this bug as critical. I'm
trying to understand what's actually broken here.

Maybe was a misunderstanding of mine about what critical is, but I
understood that it makes unrelated software on the system break, (rails).
But now that you reasign it to rails, thats ok to be serious :D

Also, if this packages remains in upgrades to etch, some rails
applications
do not work.

Why?

Because it has an file called application.rb, that gets in the way of
rails application.rb. Stupid classload issues.

Ok, but *that* is an incompatibility between rails and
libdevel-logger-ruby1.8, it has nothing to do with libruby1.8 itself. Since
this is the only real problem I see, I'm reassigning this bug report to
rails; if you can explain how the lack of a conflict breaks ruby as a whole,
we can clone this bug back to ruby1.8 as well.

AFAIK, it breaks only rails. But it is a trash that will be left behind when
people upgrade from sarge to debian - and for me, this is a bug. I don't
want a package from sarge that provides the same functionality
libruby1.8 provides in my etch machine.

RAILS people, about this bug report:

If I run my application with ./script/server, without
libdevel-logger-ruby1.8 installed, I got this on my log/development.log file:

Yes, but the functionality provided by libdevel-logger-ruby is the same
that libruby1.8 provides.

If you check http://raa.ruby-lang.org/project/devel-logger/, it
says: devel-logger is bundled together with ruby distribution after ruby/1.8.
This package is for ruby-1.6.

So, it seems that this package was wrongly migrated to ruby1.8.

Then the maintainer removed the 1.8 package from etch, and in dummy package
libdevel-logger-ruby, the file /usr/share/doc/libdevel-logger-ruby/README.Debian
says:

libdevel-logger-ruby for Debian
---

Ruby Devel::Logger
It was bundled in ruby1.8 as logger.rb. This is just dummy package
so that you may remove it.

Bug#335699: ITA: libxslt-ruby

2006-10-31 Thread Filipe Lautert
I needed this package and found it a litle aged. So I did some work on the
latest release (version 0.9.2) and now I have a working package.

I'll look for a sponsor soon and then send this package to review.

Bug#384016: I have this problem too, and it's caused by python 2.4.

2006-09-11 Thread Mário Filipe
Hi Joey

This does work...

So for a temporary workaround, I've edited the hashbang in that file
to force the use of python2.3..

Where and how did you change it? I'm sorry but as far as Python is
concerned all I know is that it is a OO language.

Thanks

Bug#328115: squirrelmail: Some attachments don't show up

2005-12-11 Thread Mário Filipe
Hello

squirreldetails: which is a copy of View Message Details from
  squirrelmail

I've checked this out. The message displays just fine with me in
SquirrelMail (including the version you're using). What might be the
problem here, is that while this message is multipart, it doesn't have
'real' attachments; it has a big image that is referenced from within
the mail itself (cid: url). That means that if you view the HTML
version, the mail looks perfectly fine, and if you don't view the HTML
version, you get an empty mail because the mail doesn't provide text
 content.

I see.

If you set SquirrelMail (under display preferences) to show the HTML
version by default, you'll see the mail just fine.

Right!

Hence, I don't regard this as a SquirrelMail bug. If you do, please tell
me what behaviour you would expect from SquirrelMail that you're not
 currently seeing now.

Right, in this case it is not a bug, but anything that I would suggest
would become a feature request! The only thing that springs to my mind
would be the possibility, while viewing the message, to choose another
displayable part, so that instead of going and changing the options
just so that it can be possible to see a message, there would be the
possibilty of seeing the other parts right there on the interface. Of
course, that if one the other parts is something non browser displayable
(like .tar.gz file or something like that) then the option shouldn't
exist!

Thanks for everything and sorry to bother you with such a stupid
problem. Once again thank you

Best regards

Removing the su=37;41 part in your .tcsh or somewhere else should be

It seems this bug is related to this one

Where Michael Stone [EMAIL PROTECTED] says:

tcsh is attempting to parse the variable for its builtin

Please don't file grave bug reports for non-grave bugs, you may annoy
the maintainer. The Debian tcsh package is obviously not unusable.

I'm using slickedit that uses tcsh, but after a debian update I can't
compile using slickedit. Slickedit uses tcsh and tcsh gives me this
  error:

 1. slickedit should not use tcsh, please see

 2. The above error message does not look like a tcsh bug. What LS_COLORS
environment variable does slickedit pass to tcsh? Did you read what the
tcsh manual page says about LS_COLORS?

I didn't read the tcsh manual :(, I never used tcsh before I wasn't aware that
tcsh was installed on my system. I search the google and I found on this page
[http://www.sleepdeprived.org/] a patch for fileutils dircolors to prevent
tcsh and possibly other shells from bombing or complaining on startup due to
the color code for doors

not see it with 2.4.6-2woody9 though). Both parent squid processes die
just about the same time (aprox. 5 sec. difference).

The behaviour and syslog messages are exactly as described earlier.

We're not sure if this is the same bug, but that seems to be the case.

Yours,

Filipe
