Bug#415160: avahi-daemon-check-dns.sh doesn't work correctly in non-C locale environments
Package: avahi-daemon Version: 0.6.16-4 Severity: normal Hi there, I just wondered why the avahi-daemon won't shut down even if there is a ..local domain available in my network and found out, that it does not wor correctly when the system locale has been set to something else than any english locale. In detail: The script avahi-daemon-check-dns.sh should grep all interface ip-adresses: ADDRS=$(ifconfig | grep ' addr:') With the system locale set to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the grep doesn't match anything 'cause addr: is Adresse: here. Maybe this line should be changed to ADDRS=$(LC_ALL=C ifconfig | grep ' addr:') Now it works for me. Yes - I'm sorry but I must report that the deamon still hangs with the kill switch turned on. Jurij, after changing the sleeptime for up to 30 seconds I must say that it doesn't work for me either. The /etc/init.d/ipw3945d script exits normally (return code 0) but the script (/etc/init.d/networking) refuses to continue. It is most likely some timing issue, please try increasing the delay after the daemon is started by looking for a line 'sleep 3' in /etc/init.d/ipw3945d and changing the number (delay in seconds) to something larger to see if it helps. Package: ipw3945d Version: 1.7.22-3 Severity: normal Hi there, on my DELL Inspiron 6400 the boot process hangs after executing /etc/init.d/ipw3945d when the kill switch is on (that means radio has been disabled). Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.0.10 Severity: normal Hi, I just installed the actual xserver-xorg and after trying to start it tells me Fatal server error: could not open default font 'fixed' in the /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I tried to investigate and found out that the font fixed is an alias which is defined in /etc/X11/fonts/X11R7/misc/xfonts-base.alias. But it seems as it isn't used. Bug#330701:
Hi, I had the same problem a few minutes ago and figured out that the locales packages doesn't erflect the changes that have been made in the login package: # cat /etc/pam.d/su [...] # This module parses /etc/environment (the standard for setting # environ vars) and also allows you to use an extended config # file /etc/security/pam_env.conf. # (Replaces the `ENVIRON_FILE' setting from login.defs) auth required pam_env.so [...] This means that you have to add something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] to your /etc/security/pam_env.conf and everything should work again as usual. Maybe this issue should be reflected in the next version of the locales package so that the pam_env.conf file will be upgraded properly by any `dpkg-reconfigure locales`. Could you please provide me with that new package (or send me a download url), because I can't even find it on ftp.debian.org? Bug#305239: #305239 mailscanner: stops scanning email
Yeah, same problem over here. I have several machines installed under Debian/Testing and all of them show the same symptoms. Because of the mailscanner process seems to be still alive (even if it's not but still appears in the process list) the mailscanner cronjob isn't able to restart it. Bug#303148:
Hmm, even after upgrading ifupdown to 0.6.6 ist still doesn't want to start my hotplug interface eth0 automagically - it is visible in `ifconfig -a` but the dhcp-client doesn't want to start. Only a `ifup eth0` brings up the interface. Regards, Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
