I absolutelly think it should go that way. I don't think breaking support for
other wm's to get it for kde is a good way to go.

nobody thinks it is. Somebody just needs to submit a bug against licq

Konqueror 2.1 beta2 doesn't load html-files

I am using KDE 2.1 post Beta2 (>= 20010128) and when I click on an URL in
KMail or if I want to oepen a link in a new window Konqueror just copies
the file to kwrite. This is the first time KDE does this.
Should I report this bug on Debian or KDE?

Hope this is good news for some people on the list.
Just wait two seconds and Ivan will have packaged it ;-).

actually I think this might have been included in the patches to the 2.2.3
tree I aplied...not sure..

a little longer...I'm doing some cleanup and re-arranging...which will need
testing.

If you can manage to get the debian dir added to kde/qt-copy on CVS...

I have been keeping fairly current with kdelibs, kdebase and qt-copy, I
imagine some others are as well. With the debian dir in qt-copy, maybe
we can assist a bit?

I know there are two? debian dirs (kde,qt designer), but at least the
main (qt) one might be added?

well..it's most likely possible...but I would have to do some reworking of
the debian/* stuff in order for someone to build what I build.

Re: A dead key problem fixed in qt 2.2.4.

2001-02-02 Thread Ivan E. Moore II
Just so you all know what I have planned...

Removal of /usr/lib/qt2
Addition of /usr/share/qt
All libs go in /usr/lib
All bins go in /usr/bin
All headers go in /usr/include/qt
Links to headers and docs go into /usr/share/qt
All supplimental files go into /usr/share/qt/

So...the ui templates needed for designer would go under /usr/share/qt
/usr/share/qt could be equivilant to $QTDIR if necessary. We have been working
mostly out of the QTDIR scheme for quite some time...some old programs still
needed it, but for the most part we can live with just telling the program
where the headers are...so either a --with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt will
work or you can still do a --with-qt-dir=/usr/share/qt and it should still
work. This takes all the crap out of the /usr/lib directory structure and
places it out where it should be...following FHS and Debian guidelines.

qt-copy debian stuff

2001-02-02 Thread Ivan E. Moore II
okies...it's there. for those of you who build from cvs, let me know if
anything brokt...I just basically took what I'm working on for the 2.2.4
packages and tweaked it a tad for building from CVS

some notes:

1: I have't tested the CVS build bits yet
2: I haven't tested the resulting 2.2.4 debs yet. (as I moved things around)
3: The Mesa stuff is not removed. I normally hack out the Mesa GL specific
stuff so that we don't have conflicts for non-mesa users. However since
I can't do this to the qt-copy tree, your stuck. But I can only assume
that if your building from cvs your building for yourself..so if you
have mesa installed then it won't hurt you.

This is related to your other problem (Bug #19668 on bugs.kde.org). Something
is tweaked in your config... try logging in as another user (that doesn't
use kde currently) and see if you have these problems.

THANKS , especially for the heads up, that change in location for qt
headers you added to admin/debianrules probably would have taken me a
while to find without you pointing it out here -).

Doing cvs update right now, hopefully can build some of this tonight,
see if I see anything, and let you know tomorrow.

I can say from initial testing that it shouldn't be a problem...Tho I can
only speak from KDE experience. KDE finds everything correctly...now it's more
of a "what do other apps do" ... :)
