 Hi Adeodato,

Hi,

there are still some issues regarding the libcap2 transition in unstable:

 - zorp needs binNMUs scheduled on all arches except armel because it
has been built with an old version of libzorp*

Good catch, done.

 - vsftpd needs a binNMU scheduled on armel

I have no idea why +b1 got rebuilt against libcap1, because libcap2
clearly got installed in the chroot. Anyway, built +b2 now successfully.

 - pulseaudio FTBFS on hppa and a bug report has already been filed:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=520378

Feel free to NMU. ;-)

Thats a bug, which makes the package unusable, so the solution is either to
fix it or to remove it. Volatile is for packages which constantly change (in
parts).

If the fix is too intrusive for a lenny point release the way to support it is
in backports.org, where it already is.

 Hey team,

Heya,

now that NEW packages have been accepted for Xfce 4.6, we are thinking
of uploading it to unstable. As requested by Adeodato, here is a little
 summary.

Basically, we have some packages which are dropped:
 libxfce4mcs
 xfce-mcs-manager
 xfce-mcs-plugins

 Some are introduced:
 libxfce4menu
 xfce4-settings (Conflicts xfce4-mcs-manager and Conflicts/Replaces
 xfce4-mcs-manager, xfce4-mcs-plugin)
 xfconf

No library renaming are involved but shlibs have been bumped to be sure
 that everything is consistent.

Please go ahead with this. It is self-contained, and at first sight it
doesn’t seem to intersect with any of the ongoing transitions, but if
that happens, we’ll figure it out.

Thanks for mailing,

The following seems to work for users of MTP devices so far (see the

   http://bugs.gpodder.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307

Thanks for the info. The changes to pymtp.py are different from those
that I proposed before. I will test both versions eventually and will
  let you know.

My version was not working properly, so forget about the previous patch.

I merged both version for pymtp.py and the resulting debdiff is attached
below. I tested it with a Zen Creative device and creation of a track
from file worked using the modified sendtrack.py script in the package
(notice that this script is patched to work with python-id3 instead of
using the pyid3lib module, which does not seem to be available in Debian).

I am Cc:ing this reply to the upstream author. Let us see what he
thinks. Although it would need more tests, I would go ahead and upload
this changed version of the package to unstable, otherwise the libmtp
transiton will be blocked. Indeed python-pymtp is the last blocker for
the transition (Cc:ing also to debian-release, accordingly).

Indeed. I’d like to push this transition sooner rather than latter, so
I’m considering a temporary removal of pymtp from testing, or maybe
leaving libmtp7 around for a bit in testing, but I like that less.

Cheers,

Bug#522294: nfs-kernel-server: Fails to start: start-stop-daemon: command not found [SRM]

2009-04-02 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: nfs-kernel-server
Version: 1:1.1.2-6lenny1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 9.9

Hi.

In a clean lenny environment with mostly nfs-kernel-server installed, it
fails to start because of:
| start-stop-daemon: command not found

Obviously, since there's no default PATH set in the init script, that
just can't work. That's Policy 9.9:
| A program must not depend on environment variables to get reasonable
| defaults

Please set PATH to something like /sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin or
whatever you see fit.

Please also fix the package in lenny (that's why I've put [SRM] in the
subject, and X-Debbugs-Cc'd debian-release@).

Thanks already.

Cheers,

OK, I really shot too fast. “rc” indeed does the right thing, and I
guess unsetting some variables in a previous init script would qualify
as being very unfair to the other scripts (particularly for $PATH).
That's why I'm lowering the severity to a wishlist bug.

Yes, it is what I intend to upload. Notice that the debdiff contains the

Great, I’ll be waiting for the upload and then do the migration.

Thomas, please test it. I added quilt support to the package in order to
