Samsung ML-2010 a Debian Sid
És aquesta impressora: http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Samsung-ML-2010 No he usat splix perquè el make falla molt a la Sid i no he trobat gaire casos amb ell. He seguit aquestes passes: 1. Diu que l'ha afegit, i la veig, però en vermell i el missatge «Samsung_ML-2010_USB_1 Filter rastertosamsungspl for printer Samsung_ML-2010_USB_1 not available: No such file or directory» 5. - Miro el log d'errors: -- E [23/Dec/2006:18:28:21 +0100] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized E [23/Dec/2006:18:28:21 +0100] Filter rastertosamsungspl for printer Samsung_ML-2010_USB_1 not available: No such file or directory E [23/Dec/2006:18:28:44 +0100] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized E [23/Dec/2006:18:28:44 +0100] Filter rastertosamsungspl for printer Samsung_ML-2010_USB_1 not available: No such file or director -- 6. - L'esborro. El registre diu: -- E [23/Dec/2006:18:31:08 +0100] CUPS-Delete-Printer: Unauthorized -- 7. - He decidit provar l'instal·lador del CD baixat de Samsung. Gràfic, guapo. 'sudo ./install.sh' En arribar al punt d'afegir una impressora, diu «Can't add printer!» ( http://itaca.bitassa.cat/~benjami/tmp/samsungml2010cantaddprinter.png ) 8. Re: Samsung ML-2010 a Debian Sid (SOLUCIONAT)
Ho he aconseguit modificant el listen de /etc/cups/cupsd.conf: # Only listen for connections from the local machine.

Any ideas on what's going wrong? K3B does not work with wodim and the cdrecord simply symlinks to wodim. Since mkisofs has also been similarly replaced, expect even more problems. There is nothing wrong with the iso file and wodim apparently is OK with the command line options in your dd (hey, a cool way of doing this!). To me, there is no good reason why one cannot have both cdrecord and wodim (and mkisofs and genisofs) one one's system. There are 3 hard disks and they are configured as RAID 5. When I reach the point in the installation where the hard disks are discovered the process fails saying no partitionable media were found. Do you have some instructions on how to install this OS on the RAID level hard disks? according to http://www.linux.com/howtos/HP-HOWTO/hp-hardware.shtml the NetRAID 3si is supported by megaraid. You can switch over to a VT during the install and see if megaraid is installed. use `alt-f2` to get a VT, follow instructions to get a shell. then type `lsmod` and look for megaraid. If its not there, try `modprobe megaraid`. Then switch back to the installer `alt-f1` and see if that solves the problem. The other posters advice to try an 'etch' install is good advice too. I have seen this message before installing Windows and I believe that this means that the appropriate RAID controller drivers are not available. In the Windows environment I would install the drivers and proceed. I am not sure if it is that easy in Linux. I also can not find the appropriate drivers and I do not know how to interrupt the installation to install them. That is if this is even the issue. Since I am new to Linux I would really appreciate it if the explanation is in its simplest form. That does not mean that I am computer illiterate, just new to Linux. Please don't assume that I will understand anything but the simplest Linux commands. However, I follow direction extremely well. welcome and good luck. its a fun ride. questions for when Etch goes stable
I've presently got 2 Sarge installs on the stable repo, and Etch on the testing repo. I've seen more than one post saying that testing was frozen, but since then I've had more updates for Etch, and tonight another 50MB of updates. I will probably keep my Etch install on testing when it goes stable, but forget what the new testing install is named. Doh. One of my Sarge installs I will keep on the stable repo, which on dialup will be a lot of fun, as it upgrades to Etch The other Sarge install I will rename in /etc/apt/sources.list to sarge. what will be the status of this Sarge install? Are there going to be any updates, bugfixes, security fixes, or is this Sarge install going to be a lost cause? I will probably keep this install on the Sarge repo, as folks from time to time who havn't upgraded, might have questions related to Sarge, and it's nice to be able to boot up an older version to check how it's setup, and perhaps provide some answers to questions.
