Oui, ça ne pose pas de problème. En revanche la lettre latine P et
la lettre cyrillic Р qui ont le même glyphe doivent être considérées

[HS] formatter une SD-Card

Bonjour,

Comment faire pour formatter une SD Card.
Sous Windows il existe des programmes spécifiques tel que Panasonic
sdformatter. Que font de spécifique ces logiciels par rapport à un formattage
standard.
Enfin d'origine les SD sont souvent en FAT16 est-ce intéressant de les mettre
en FAT32?

... comme  c'est un  caractère ascii,  il ne pose  pas de  problèmes aux
anglo-saxons ---  mais, si je ne m'abuse,  le « LL » a une  place à part
en  espagnol, le « æ »  latin1 est  une ligature  en français,  mais une
lettre danoise (après le Z dans l'ordre alphabétique)...

Ça  vient aussi  du  fait que  Unicode a  importé  en bloc  des jeux  de
caractères préexistants. C'est moins gênant pour des langues distinctes,
mais un  gag sous Emacs,  sans unification, était  de ne pas  trouver le
« é »  latin1  dans un  buffer  latin9 ---  c'est  plus  courant que  de
chercher « CCCP » dans un texte français...

D'un autre côté, D. E. Knuth  n'a défini que les majuscules grecques qui
lui manquaient --- il est vrai que lui devait être économe.

C'est surtout  qu'il y  a des centaines,  voire des milliers  de langues
utilisant  des variantes  de l'alphabet  romain, et  que  Unicode, après

Certains  typographes  bretons  préconisant  d'incliner le  « skrab »  à
gauche, avoir une lettre {c'h}  ou {c`h} à part entière faciliterait une
normalisation, mais on n'est plus vendredi.

effectivement, il y a 2 frères. c'est plus clair si tu fais ça:

peut être, parfois trop limités.
  


un exemple de problèmes:

echo $liste

la, ça ne marche pas, car liste est modifié dans le fils.

dans ce genre de cas, on peut théoriquement toujours résoudre le 
problème en utilisant des fichiers temporaires.



Cet incident m'a permis d'en savoir plus...
On peut par exemple faire ce genre de chose.

$ mkfifo tm1; mkfifo tmp2; { I=4 ; echo $I; echo toto; }|tee tmp1\
|tee tmp2/dev/null  \
cat tmp1|grep '[0-9]'tmp2  \
cat tmp2

Là ça pourrait se faire avec un sed, mais il y a peut être des
cas où ça pourrait être utile.

Aucune idée ... mais regardes du côté de fdisk et mkfs.vfat si tu veux
pouvoir utiliser ta carte sous Windows ...

aÿ est un nom commun? Mon PowerBook s'appelle ay. :) Mais ça vient
de Ay-sur-Moselle (la règle était de choisir parmi les communes de
Lorraine, et j'en avais cherché une avec le moins de lettres possibles:
c'est plus rapide à taper).

consulta sobre terminales

Hola amigos, tengo una preguntita...

Tengo instalado debian etch en una maquina y el gnome como gestor X.
anteriormente, podia abrir con la combinacion de teclas ctrl alt fx del uno al
cinco, las terminales tty para ejecutar comandos texto.

Ahora al apretar la combinacion de teclas, no aparece nada.

Que puedo hacer para que vuelvan?

Supuestamente el gnome estaba en la terminal 6...

Debes revisar el archivo /etc/inittab (como root) y ver si tienes las
siguientes lineas:

# /sbin/getty invocations for the runlevels.

#
# Note that on most Debian systems tty7 is used by the X Window System,

Los # son los que indentifican los comentarios ;-) cualquier duda,
pregunta de nuevo.

Por otra parte, si estás usando gnome, podrias usar gnome-terminal
para los comandos en consola.

Tambien es muy fácil con NVU... solo has de escribir la palabra que quieres

El problema de que te quede diminuto es que has intentado crearlo
directamente desde ese menu... como no hay ningun caracter seleccionado te
crea el tamaño minimo posible.

Parece ser que este paquete va bien con mi escáner. Lo he instalado pero 
cuando entro en el programa de escaneo de imágenes XSane y le doy a aceptar 
me sale el siguiente mensaje:


Fallo al abrir el dispositivo 'hp3900:libusb:004:002': Acceso al recurso fue 
prohibido.


¿Sabe alguien cómo puedo resolver este mensaje?

El NVU es bueno.. tmbien el Bluefish...

Pero hora uso mucho el Kompozer... que es la version mas actual del NVU..
parece ser que la primera version del Nvu salio con unos cuantos bugs y
pues fue abandonado... despues orto desarrollador retomo el codigo y lo
convirtio en lo que hoy conozco por Kompozer...

Para trabajitos pequeños pues uso el archiconocido Mozilla Composer..

Cámara web para Linux.


Estimados, que cámara web buena recomienda para Linux?

Estuve probando una Genius Webcam Live y no tuve éxito con ella...

Ejecuta xsane desde root. Si te funciona está claro que es un problema
de permisos. Si el paquete libsane-extras configura correctamente tu
sistema, tal vez el problema se resuelva re-enchufando el cable usb de
tu escáner. Si persiste, loguea de nuevo y asegúrate de que tu
usuario se encuentra en el grupo scanner

P.D.: Está pendiente de aprobación la inclusión del backend hp3900 en el
proyecto SANE en su versión 1.0.19. De aprobarse, dejaría de ser un
backend externo y no sería necesario el paquete libsane-extras para los

como mi usuario joako pero empece a tener problemas con el gnome se 
congelaba y pues ahora todas la veces que entro en linux llego a un 
gnome congelado.
pero eh podido llegar a una consola por el safe mode de debian y me 
gustaria saber como remuevo el autologin desde consola?

alguna ayuda muchas gracias
ahorita estoy buscando en googlesolo que decidi prreguntar al mismo 
tiempo

Edita el fichero /etc/gdm/gdm-custom.conf (o algo así) y busca dicha opción y 
ponla a no o false. Ojo, no edites el gdm.conf pues el archivo que te 
digo tiene preferencia.

verifica el archivo /etc/gdm/gdm.conf, deberias tener algo como esto

AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=[nombre_usuario]

cambia true por false, guardas los cambios y reinicia.

si vez que sigue arrancando automaticamente quita desde el nivel de
arranque a gdm con:

update-rc.d -f gdm remove

y para reponerlo les das con:

update-rc.d gdm defaults

 verifica el archivo /etc/gdm/gdm.conf, deberias tener algo como esto

Ojo, hace poco yo lo hice y hay un fichero .custom o algo así que es donde se 
realiza la escritura de cambios desde GDM, así que ese fichero es el que 
cuenta al final y es el que hay que editar a mano.

Podría depender de la versión de GDM o incluso de la distribución. Yo lo tuve 
que hacer en una Ubuntu Dapper hace no mucho y existía el fichero custom (o 
algo así) que era el que había que editar.


 esperemos la respuesta del amigo para saber en que quedo el problema.

Resolución de 1440x900 (widescreen) y Xorg.

Estimados, me compré un monitor LCD de 19 Widescreen y no logro 
configurarlo correctamente. Según el manual la resolución máxima es 
1440x900 y se puede ejecutar Xorg usando esa resolución.


Sin embargo la imagen no ocupa todo el espacio que tiene el monitor. La 
pantalla tiene un área de 411 mm x 256 mm y lo que sucede es que a los 
costados quedan espacios libres. Cerca de 20 mm de cada lado, así que 
efectivamente la imagen mostrada ocupa un area de 370mm x 256 mm (se 
nota que eso solo ocurre de los costados, en la altua se ocupa todo el 
área de la pantalla).


La tarjeta de video es (según lspci):

Vale lembrar que ya probé la solución más sencilla (o lo que vendría a 
ser la solución más sencilla) y no tuve éxito, con eso quiero decir que 
ya buscó en los botones del monitor alguno que pudiera ensanchar la 
imagen, pero no hay función para eso. Así es, no hay botón para eso.


Bueno... sugerencias?

Esto es un poco drástico pero a mi me funcionó. Elimina de xorg.conf todas las 
resoluciones que no sean 1440x900. Por supuesto haz primero una copia de 
seguridad.

Asegúrate también que en la opción monitor tienes:
Option  DPMS

Duvida sobre distribuiçoes

Ola amigos da lista,

Sou novato no linux e comecei a aprender no fedora,
como nao quero e nem posso me amarrar a uma
distribuição apenas, pesquisei sobre as distros mais
usadas e logo vi que o Debian é uma das mais usadas e
gostaria de saber dos amigos mais experientes se muda
muita coisa em relaçao ao Fedora em quesitos de
comandos e coisas do genero.
Fiz uma pesquisa tambem no que diz respeito a comandos
e coisas do genero mas confesso que fiquei confuso
pois alguns comando sao iguais, outros nao, e isso
realmente me confundiu.

os amigos sugerem que eu aprenda mais na distro que eu
comecei que no caso é o Fedora, ou aconselham a
inserir o Debian nos meus estudos ???

Gostaria tambem de indicação de material para estudo
caso a resposta seja para inserir o debian
paralelamente.

Olá. Os comando mais comuns são mesmo iguais. Agora na administração do
sistema e de programas instalados a diferença e bem grande.  Para
começar o debian usa pacotes no formato deb enquanto o fedora usa o
formato rpm. Mesmo quando uso distribuições derivadas do debian como
ubuntu ou kurumin ainda noto diferenças na administração do sistema. Eu
passei por várias distribuições até começar a usar o debian no ano de
2001, depois disso passei usar somente o debian. Aprende sobre várias
distribuições linux é bom. Algumas tem algumas coisas e focos diferentes
então trazem ferramentas diferentes. Se quiser começar a se interar mais
da distribuição debian você pode começar pelo guia focalinux.

etch nds1060(dificuldade tosca!)

Pessoal!!!
  Estou com problema após configurar meu modem nds1060. Segui as recomendações 
de
http://linux.org.ar/pipermail/lugna/2007-May/005163.html, mas na hora de criar 
um arkivo q conecte meu modem,
não está dando certo. Nesta página fala assim:

  creamos un archivo activar-modem en /usr/sbin
  con lo siguiente:
  #!/bin/bash
  sudo br2684ctl -b -c 0 -a 8.35
  sudo ifconfig nas0 up

  ahora agregamos un enlace al inicio
  ln -s /usr/sbin/activar-modem /etc/rcS.d/SS99modem

  Listo ahora funciona pon dsl-provider al reiniciar

Então, faço td isso, mas não funciona. Percebi que não havia sudo instalado, 
então instalei, mas continua não
funcioando. Parece q ele não está lendo o arquivo! Como soluciono este 
problema???

Olá... como dizia um companheiro de trabalho Linux é Linux. O comandos 
que sejam do Linux vão ser o mesmo em todas as distribuições (talvez 
haja diferenças com respeito a versões), mas algumas configurações 
provavelmente serão diferentes.


Um companheiro comentou, por exemplo, a diferença dos pacotes usados em 
Debian e Fedora. Eu por exemplo uso Gentoo em casa e Debian no trabalho 
e há comandos que existem num que não existem no outro (Gentoo por 
exemplo não instala programas através de pacotes, eles são baixados e 
compilados diretamente).


No final das contas você vai ter um serviço implementado em Linux, e é o 
que importa.

Por padro o sudo vem para solicitar senha... e isso pode estar
causando o seu problema.
Seria interresante tambm verificar as permisses do arquivo.

Geralmente quando eu utilizo um script, antes de coloc-lo para iniciar
executo ele manualmente, para verificar se est funcionando
corretamente.

Vale lembrar que já provei a solução mais simples (ou o que viria a 
ser a solução mais simples) e não tive sucesso, com isso quero dizer que 
já procurei pelos botões do monitor que pudessem alargar a imagem, mas 
não há nenhum botão para isso. Isso mesmo, não há botão para isso.

Não sei a solução. Porém tentaria dar boot na máquina com um knoppix e
veria o   xorg.conf como fica.
Pergunta: será que a placa de vídeo suporta a resolução?

Vale lembrar que já provei a solução mais simples (ou o que viria a
ser a solução mais simples) e não tive sucesso, com isso quero dizer que
já procurei pelos botões do monitor que pudessem alargar a imagem, mas
não há nenhum botão para isso. Isso mesmo, não há botão para isso.

Voce precisa de um servidor pop3 (dovecot, cyrus...) e um smtp (postfix, 
qmail, sendmail...).
Uso Postfix+Dovecot e estou bastante satisfeito. É bastante fácil 
configurar essa dupla no
debian, basta instalar os pacotes dovecot-pop3d e postfix e ler os 
arquivos em /usr/share/doc/

de cada sistema e dovecot.org/postfix.org para configurar o sistema.

Sugiro estudar nesses sites sobre o mecanismo de um sistema de e-mail. O 
tio google também terá

ótimos conselhos :)

Claro que a solução ideal exige uma análise mais detalhada do ambiente 
em que vai rodar,
tipo de administração que terá disponível (p.e. se pretende usar uma 
interface web para adicionar,
remover usuários, para o caso de autorgar isso a outras pessoas). 
Opções interessantes são

anti-virus, anti-spam e registro das mensagens trafegadas.

Can t type x character in console while beeing non-root

Using Debian 4.0, xorg, xfce.
I can t type  x  character in console (Alt-Ctrl-F1) as well as in X-
terminal-emulator while beeing logged in as non-root user. As soon as
I make  su  or log in as root I become able to type it.

That s weird! Can anyone suggest anything?

Still two question remains in my mind. First: What good is Alien for?
The Debian Reference says:

use a package from another Linux distribution than the one you have

em8300 DXR3 anyone?

I can't get DXR3 (em8300) support working with libxine1.  The sarge
version still works, but none of the newer versions of libxine1.  Does
anyone have experience compiling libxine1 with em8300 support?  How is
it done?

Could you please do the following:

 - Provide the schema for your database user table
 - Turn up the logging for your sasl authentication
 - Provide the log entries that occure when you try and authenticate

By the version number, I would guess that you are using Etch.  If
possible, please try this on a Sid machine using the latest libsasl
package (2.1.22.dfsg1-12).  If that is not possible, don't worry too
much about it.

Probably not.  This patch breaks compatibility with upstream (hence why
it is not included in our official package).  However, if you have
control over what applications make use of sasl on your machine, you can
probably get away with it.  You can read the Debian Package
Customization HOWTO on my website for details on how to modify a Debian
package for local changes.

Did you try passing the -f switch to testsaslauthd to tell it where the
socket is located?  The /etc/defaults/saslauthd file is actually read by
the Debian-provided init script in the sasl2-bin package.  The upstream
programs know nothing of that file.  Specifically, the testsaslauthd
program, which is a SASL client, won't know where the socket is if you
have moved it.

 So saslauthd so sasl seems to be ignoring the -m stuff.  If I make a 
 symling  /var/run/saslauthd pointing to 
 /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd it works fine.
 
 Is this a bug or am I missing something I should have done?
 
That is one way to deal with the postfix in a chroot issue and not break
other applications.  Other options include taking postfix out of its
chroot or using a local TCP connection.

Hmm.  Why are you using www-pgsql?  It is not a dependcy of tutos2 or

You can easily encounter situations in which, due to incomplete support
of codecs, the audio works but the video does not. The fact that
flashplayer can display video output suggests to me that your problem is
due to the codecs used in the other files.

At the moment I think you are missing some video codecs. Check which
totem package you have installed by running

dpkg -l totem\* | grep ^ii

If you use totem-xine make sure that you have libxine1-ffmpeg installed.

If you use totem-gstreamer make sure that you have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
installed.

These packages should give you access to all the codecs which can be
supported by free (libre) software. Unfortunately there are some
commonly-used codecs in the Windows world which cannot be included in
Debian main due to legal reasons (license fees, patents, etc.).

You can add Christian Marillat's debian-multimedia repository to your
/etc/apt/sources.list and install the packages gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg-full
and w32codecs to get support for most of the common non-free codecs.
(w32codecs is only available for the i386 architecture.) Further
instructions are available on http://www.debian-multimedia.org.

hi... i'm not a debian user, but a mandriva 2007 user. my wife's laptop
keyboard quit working in X. nothing would work. keys, caps lock, num lock...
nothing. if i booted into failsafe mode, i.e. command-line with root,... no
problem. if i booted up and went into x i could authenticate fine with user
and password... but then, once in... keyboard dead.

like you... i thought xorg.conf . i have an identical laptop with the same os / kernal as my wife. same config. so... i got my xorg.conf file over to her laptop. that should work... NOT. so... i tried this.

* booted into failsafe mode ( command-line / root )
* created a new user ( via the useradd funtion )

restarted the laptop and logged in as the new user. that worked great! so... i figured it
must be something that got torked up in the home directory of the user. i
didn't dig in and find out exactiy what... just wanted to get it back working. so... i'd
try the following.

* log into failsafe mode
* make a copy of the problem users home directory.
* delete the problem user
* recreate the problem user
* log in and test

if this works... you're set. there are alot of settings ( email stuff,
documents etc ) that are in the user's home directory, so that's why i would
make a copy. that way you can those items/config back over to the new account.

i hope this helps. i'm not a linux expert by any strech, but this worked for
me. let me know how it goes.

Welcome home :)

Someone will probably have a solution.  However, I found that in the
end, especially for multiple boxes, that it was easier to just reinstall
Etch.  You may want to set up an apt-proxy on one box (an existing
sarge?) first; the box that connects to the internet.  Then each install
can look to this box for the packages.  After the first box, the
packages will be in the proxy and you won't have to repeatedly download
packages.

I found that an Etch install took me about 20 minutes which is why it
was easier than tracking down the problems.  I know, with Debian, you're
not supposed to need to.  However, Sarge to Etch moved hotplug to udev,
XFree86 to Xorg, UTF-8 by default, and a slew of pesky details.

I did this once but I forget what for.  I used mc (midnight commander)
to poke into the rpm just as if (maybe it is) a tarball and installed
everything under /usr/local.  This was before /opt was in the hier.

Now that /opt is in the hier, I would suggest that you would install the
whole shebang manually under /opt/$PACKAGENAME which makes removal later
much easier.

Then you just need to adjust your path and read the documentation.  The
only problem is if a program is written with hard-coded locations (e.g.
it looks for a specific file in a specific place).  If it gets too
convoluted, I forget it and rewrite the app in python/fortran (my
languages of choice).  This latter option is what I've done since for
anything for which there is no suitable debian native package.

What do you suggest?  Tape drives are pricy compared to a 2.5 laptop

feeling adventurous and you're at an aptitude prompt, by typing :~M~g.
But you probably don't want to do the last one; I just included it to
show off.

hardware acceleration) or use 'mplayer -vo x11 file name' to test.

Ah, yes. You cannot reorder files’ positions within Bulk Renamer’s list. (I will
file a feature request for this if there isn’t already one.)

 None of those things made any difference. the HPDeskjet would not go ready 
 and would not print. Nothing appeared to change. All the messages
 in the error log looked the same. I didn't run diff on them, but I
 didn't notice anything obviously different.

 I did notice a couple of things.

 In the error log are a lot of messages that say

  cupsdAuthorize: No authentication data provided.

The error_log that you put on the web has 746 lines with this message
and furthermore 570 lines with

cupsdAuthorize: Local authentication certificate not found!

If I set the loglevel to debug and print one page on our SMB-shared
network printer I get 20 lines with No authentication ... and 0 lines
with the message about the certificate. I have never used a network
printer that did not require full user/password credentials, therefore I
do not know if what you see is normal for your guest/anonymous login
configuration.

 And the HPDeskjet is referred to as

  //localhost/printers/DeskJet-6540

 When I check the HPDeskjet properties from the various places it does
 appear that it is recognized as being a remote printer on //joyce though.

I think that is normal. As far as your Linux system is concerned, the
printer is called DeskJet-6540 and it can be accessed via CUPS on
localhost. (Note that these DeviceURIs start with ipp:// and not with
smb://.) Only the SMB backend of CUPS needs to know where to send the
print jobs in the end.

Let's try something else: Point your browser of choice to

http://localhost:631/printers/

and check the Printer State for DeskJet-6540. If it says stopped then
you should see a green Start Printer button in the row of buttons
below the printer properties and status messages. Try to start the
printer again. (You will be asked for a username and password; either
use root or your normal account if you are a member of the lpadmin
group.) Can you start the printer? Does it stop again if you try to
print the next job? You might have to use Cancel All Jobs to clear the
print queue.

Hi,

Once I tried using the deluser commmand and while trying to see how well it
works, I tried the following command:
   deluser root
And to my surprise, root was deleted. Is that good? Self-termination,
suiside!!!
I dont know if this is a bug, or if it has been kept for some kind of
flexibility.

I feel that deluser should not delete the root, even though it may be able
to delete other priviledged users.

I ran dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and set the framebuffer option to
NO. Now the output of egrep '^\((EE|WW)\)' /var/log/Xorg.0.log doesn't
contain any error message. But totem continues with its black screen...

I installed w32codec and totem continues to refuse to show any video
output with *.wmv clips...

About a month ago, I installed etch in a sony-vaio laptop. Totem ran
fine out of the box, without any codec installed by me... is the
totem-xine version, the same as in the desktop with problems. The laptop
has a ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 video card, so, runs the same driver from
x.org as the desktop... 

I will continue to look for a solution... may be installing another
program
