tinyerp sur lenny

2007-09-22 Thread pascal

open /dev/fd0 : no such file or directory...

  apt-get remove gnome.

Gracias.

¿Entonces qué sentido tiene esas toolkitoptions, qué modifican esos

¿Te has molestado en leer que es?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SELinux

crearla a mano. ¿Has instalado algo relacionado con la seguridad

debido a que en /dev/mapper/ tengo
 brw-rw 1 root disk 254, 6 2007-09-20 00:00 local-swap
 brw-rw 1 root disk 254, 8 2007-09-20 00:00 local-swap_crypt

 se redimensiona:
 - primero /dev/mapper/local-swap y luego /dev/mapper/local-swap_crypt
 - primero /dev/mapper/local-swap_crypt y luego /dev/mapper/local-swap

 lvresize -L+200M /dev/mapper/local-swap

 Elimine local-swap_crypt
 cryptsetup remove /dev/mapper/local-swap_crypt

cryptsetup resize local-swap_crypt

 La volvi a crear:
 cryptsetup --key-file=/dev/urandom -c aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 -s 256
 create /dev/mapper/local-swap_crypt /dev/mapper/local-swap
(no cambie a como estaba /etc/crypttab)

 luego la formatié
 mkswap /dev/mapper/local-swap_crypt

 y la volvi a desmontar

 ...seguire probando :)

#!/bin/sh

openssl genrsa -des3 -rand /etc/hosts -out smtpd.key 4096
chmod 600 smtpd.key
openssl req -new -key smtpd.key -out smtpd.csr

openssl rsa -in smtpd.key -out smtpd.key.unencrypted
mv -f smtpd.key.unencrypted smtpd.key
openssl req -new -x509 -extensions v3_ca -keyout cakey.pem -out cacert.pem
- -days 3650

He hecho lo

quiere decir algo.

1) Esta mañana he intentado
¿no?

servidores, ¿no?

2)

Al final he empezado a

R/ Un saludo.

RR/ Otro.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SELinux

crearla a mano.

fragmenta y crea fronteras virtuales.

Pobres, ricos, capitalista, comunistas, cristianos, musulmanes o

Instalei o Debian testing e usando o kernel padrão (2.6.18-4-486) o sistema

NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.19-pkg2.run: line 777: ./nvidia-installer:
Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado

Entretando a instalação do driver ocorre normalmente com o kernel
2.6.18-4-486 ou 2.6.22-4-486.

Alguma idéia para resolver isso??
Será que o melhor é instalar o Debian 64bits?

Elias,

Acho melhor usar 32bits, você vai encontrar problemas com softwares e
bibliotecas.

Acho
estranho o Kernel 2.6.22-4-486 não está
reconhecendo os 2Gbs de memória. Pode ser alguma falha de hardware ou
software já que a versão do debian

é testing.

Qualquer dúvida referente a compilação é só falar !

  Será que o melhor é instalar o Debian 64bits?

 Elias,

Acho melhor usar 32bits, você vai encontrar problemas com softwares e
 bibliotecas.

piloto pronto. Servidor email (Postfix) + LDAP + webmail, tudo perfeito
e autenticando no LDAP, sobre a seguinte árvore:

 cn=adim,dc=dominio_ldap,dc=net
   -- dominios
 - dominio 1

etc. Ao modificar a estrutura acima para:

 cn=adim,dc=dominio_ldap,dc=net
   -- dominios
 - dominio 1
 - dominio 2

do postfix.
[4]LDAP_README do postfix.

1. http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Postfix-LDAP_virtual_users_with_qmail_schema
2. http://www.postfix.org/VIRTUAL_README.html
3. http://www.howtoforge.org/virtual_users_and_domains_with_postfix_debian_etch
4. http://www.postfix.org/LDAP_README.html

O [6]tutorial do Jamm

comportamento similar a bi-processamento).

I am working on Debian etch with iceweasel installed, and I changed the

Now I have the other components working well but the bookmarks. When I click

Any one have idea about this? Is there a workaround?

Debian has a number of items, among them, bash, awk, vi, etc., that are
part of a system of 'alternatives.' These are items with can do a task
in a similar way like dash, ash, bash,... When certain debian packages
are installed, they alter these setting, if a new package is install
that can take the place of an alternative. But some alternatives are
setup as part of the basic system like bash pointing to sh. When /bin/sh
is invoked, it is actually calling /bin/bash, but since it is using a
different program name ($0 = 'sh' and not 'bash'), it uses
sh-emulation-mode and acts like sh, which is supposed to be a
posix-compatible shell. All scripts used by Debian package maintainers
are suppose to adhere to a certain standard, they should use
posix-compatible shell scripting language (unless they use perl, the
other basic language that is part of the system).
Hope that explains.

If I want SElinux, I should get Redhat or Fedora. But I use Debian,

Manoj said that SElinux is not yet fully integrated into Debian, and I
think that's good because it gives us time to re-evaluate if we need
SElinux, and I hope we can re-evaluate it out of Debian.

I did not quite mean that. What I meant is that SELinux is
fairly well integrated in Debian; but the reference policy is tno quite
polished enough to be foisted on the general user base by default -- an
conscious effort is still required to turn on SELinux. As the policy
improves, the effort required to use ELinux would be reduced.

There is also the issue of modularity of SELinux policy, and
ownership of policy modules that correspond to Debian packages --
currently, and for the foreseeable future, policy modules are shipped
in one giant package, instead of separately -- and they are either
inactive, or all installed into the kernel.

I think this is partially SELinux is so hard to deal with in
Fedora -- they have a modual security policy, with poor coverage,
masquerading as a monolithic policy, and that is a poor fit for a
 modular OS.

Mind you, what Fedora achieved is admirable -- but I think we
can do better. So, in the middle term, the giant policy package will be
broken up into a few packages (I am not yet ready to go the one module,
 one package route).

We also need to get away from load _all_ modules into the
kernel, all the time mechanism fedora uses. But before we get there,
we have to enhance the packaging system to ensure that the security
policy (initial file contexts, at least) are loaded in the kernel
before the corresponding package is installed. Too bad there is no
pre-install trigger in the new dpkg code; I suppose someone will have
to add it in. Perhaps me.

In any case, Debian is always about choices. And that also means
 SELinux.

Installing Debian from partition image

I need to install Debian on twenty computers, for desktop use. I intend
making a partition image, and restoring the partition image on the twenty
computers. And Gilles Mocellin had suggested using DSH when it is necessary
to run a command on all computers.

Installing the partition from the Debian 4.0r0 multi-arch DVD, without any
updates to it, will allow easy replication, since the DVD is widely
available, right?

I haven't created/installed from partition image before. Are there any
pitfalls that I need to be careful of?

I am looking at Mondo Rescue, and PartImage. Which of these is better for
this task?

I looked at Beowulf, but it appears to be too much work. Is there any easy
way of making a computer cluster out of these computers that have already
been purchased?

What do you mean by this? If you install from an r0 then you will need
to pull in additional updates for all your computers. Unless you use

Re: Printer Driver Brother on new Lenny installation

Hello Florian,

will not install on this 64 bit system. They have released the source
code for the driver under the GPL and I have downloaded it. For this
printer there is a shell script and also a C program to generate a
  CUPS wrapper.

When I run the shell script it exits with the folowing error:

  -- Message from [EMAIL PROTECTED] at Fri Sep 21 19:15:58 2007 ...
localhost cupsd: Unable to read configuration file
  '/etc/cups/cupsd.conf' - exiting!

Does the cupsd.conf file exist, is it readable? Do you have cupsys
 installed at all?

What I have is whatever came on CD1 using the Gnome. The printer
configuration tool uses cupsys by default. Unfortunately Brother is
not in its list of supported printers at all.

I'm a little vague because the installation is at a friends place 2
hours away by train.

Please advise what I must do to compile and install this stuff.

I have had this printer working on a Kubuntu 7.04 system using the
driver for the HL-2060 (iirc) which was available on the installation
cd. I have abandoned the Kubuntu system in favour of Debian Lenny for
other reasons. So advice on getting and installing the Kubuntu driver
  would help also.

Debian has several PPD files for the HL-2060 included in the
 foomatic-filters-ppds package:

 $ dpkg -L foomatic-filters-ppds | grep Brother-HL-2060 | sed 's/.*\///'
 Brother-HL-2060-Postscript.ppd.gz
 Brother-HL-2060-hl1250.ppd.gz
 Brother-HL-2060-lj4dith.ppd.gz
 Brother-HL-2060-lj5gray.ppd.gz
 Brother-HL-2060-ljet4.ppd.gz
 Brother-HL-2060-pxlmono.ppd.gz

If you install thias package you should be able to select these drivers
when you add your printer using the CUPS web frontend (or the KDE
 printer administration tool).

Great, the foomatic version was what I did have working in Kubuntu.

If none of these drivers works then you can look for the corresponding
files on the Kubuntu CD and try those (in case Kubuntu uses modified
versions). The add printer dialog allows you to specify PPD files
directly; it might be necessary to unzip the files with gunzip first.

Furthermore, a HL-2040 adapted PPD is available here:
 http://www.profv.de/brother/

I think I will try that first.

Thanks for your help. I will try your suggestions later this week.

Regards,
Bob

Recently I noticed that the Conference Room (Meetme) facility had

I think the issue is lack of the ztdummy module and /dev/zap/* devices.

Since these are hotplug/udev controlled I suspect that may be the issue.

Can anyone advise where to get these devices from

Dependency analysis (including build-depends; i386 only):
* vlc depends on libcaca-dev = 0.99.beta4-1 but testing has
0.99.beta11.debian-3
   (unstable has
0.99.beta11.debian-3)
o binary package libcaca-dev is part of source package libcaca

This dependency analysis does not make any sense to me:
0.99.beta11.debian-3 is greater than 0.99.beta4-1, or am I missing
something? Maybe there is a bug in the versions comparison code. The VLC
package in unstable works fine AFAICT and it must have been built with
the same version of libcaca-dev.

To come back to the original question: It seems that at the moment you
need to pull in VLC from the unstable repository. I think that should be
possible without problems, but I cannot test that myself.

What happens if you try to modprobe ztdummy as root? The device nodes
should be created by udev as soon as the module is loaded.

If the module cannot be found or if there is a problem inserting it then
you might have to recompile it for your current kernel:

module-assistant prepare

module-assistant auto-install zaptel-source

I understand what the problem is - I have downgraded my kernel to
2.6.18-4

The issue is that you need to install zaptel-modules, and there is only
a version for kernel 2.6.18-4 and no other.

I am not sure if you need them for the much later kernels, but I had
2.6.18-5 installed and that was why I was failing

Re: more kernel booting woes

In case anybody remembers, I was previously having problems with
booting the debian standard kernel on my machine (a custom compiled

sometimes it would dump me into the emergency shell, where I could
just mount the root filesystem by hand and the boot would continue
successfully. Sometimes that _didn't_ happen, and I guess the problem
probably had something to do with a race condition involving the scsi
root disk (the adaptec driver by default seems to have a stupidly long
delay to let the scsi bus settle, like 15 seconds [my hand-compiled
kernel uses a delay of 200ms!]).

the easy workaround for such a situation is bootarg
rootdelay=7
documented in etch release notes.

So recently I upgraded my kernel to vmlinuz-2.6.22-2-686 (version
2.6.22-4), thinking maybe things might work a bit better ... and now, it
 won't boot at all!!! Argh...

It again dumps me into the emergency shell, and I _can_ mount the root
device by hand like I could before, using the command:

 mount -text2 /dev/root /root

If I then (again, as before) hit ^D to let the boot continue, it gives
 an error message like:

...: /bin/sh file not found auto

and then it panics and halts (sorry don't remember the exact wording of the
 message).

well the exact error message would be helpfull,
did you land into boot rescue console ?

Have the details of the boot scripts changed between vmlinuz-2.6.22-1-686
(the previous version I was running, which would boot with hand assistance)
and vmlinuz-2.6.22-2-686? Anybody have any ideas what might be
 happening? What is this auto...?

could you please give more information:
dpkg -l initramfs-tools
sed 's/#.*$//;/^[[:space:]]*$/d' /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf
cat /proc/cmdline

 [My root disk is a scsi disk hanging off an Adaptec AHA-2940U controller;
 it's using the aic7xxx driver.]

for the record, here you'll find debug instructions:

gpg/pgp signing/encryption/decryption is all about trusting the human
associated with the key pair. Using gpg relates to the mail *user*, so
the mail server has nothing to do with gpg, other than delivering the

Encrypting and signing of emails is normally handled by the Mail User
Agent (i.e. your email program). You seem to be using Thunderbird, which
can get GPG support via the enigmail extension. Enigmail is packaged for
Debian; you can also install it from http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ if you

 *Code:* $LogFile indicates unclean shutdown (0, 0)

Mount is denied because NTFS is marked to be in use. Choose one action:

Choice 1: If you have Windows then disconnect the external devices by
clicking on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the Windows
  taskbar then shutdown Windows cleanly.

Choice 2: If you don't have Windows then you can use the 'force' option for
your own responsibility. For example type on the command line:

mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda6 /home/sid/Drives/E -o force

Or add the option to the relevant row in the /etc/fstab file:

/dev/sda6 /home/sid/Drives/E ntfs-3g defaults,force 0 0

My fstab is this:

 Hello,

i run debian etch with exim4 (smarthost configuration) for outbound emails.

Is it possible to encrypt the outbound emails with gpg?

If it is possible how can i do that?

That is the job of your mail user agent (e.g. mutt). How can a mail
transport agent sending mail to many different people encrypt the mail
for each of them? Read the gpg manual/howto, etc.

 Doug.

sorry, i forgot to say that i run a server, and i want the
cron-/logcheck-messages etc to be encrypted.

Peter

I'm not sure this is safe to do.
What do you guys think?

I'm just looking myself for a way to do the same in xfce4.

Both GNOME and XFCE4 have session managers. So if you get compiz
running successfully, and save your session before you log out, then it
will be there when you log in again.

[solved] modem hung up on etch

2007-09-22 Thread heba
the problem was the isdn network, installing only the package ppp or
pppoe contained in the first cd-rom of etch is not configurating
correctly the modem that run for a line not isdn.

To resolve installing the package pppconfig and setting the option in the file:

/etc/ppp/options

to comment this lines:

# If this option is given, pppd will presume the peer to be dead if n
# LCP echo-requests are sent without receiving a valid LCP echo-reply.
# If this happens, pppd will terminate the connection. Use of this
# option requires a non-zero value for the lcp-echo-interval parameter.
# This option can be used to enable pppd to terminate after the physical
# connection has been broken (e.g., the modem has hung up) in
# situations where no hardware modem control lines are available.
#lcp-echo-failure 4
