Hello! On 05/08/2013 08:50 PM, *Patrick Wiseman* wrote, and I quote (in part): That's a bit harsh. Many open source communities use web-based support forums where it's possible to post a message and subscribe to replies to that message. I assume the OP was expecting similar behavior here. If the original questioner wants to save his mailbox, he can read maillist via usenet news group (like I do) linux.debian.user Or he can use Google groups, including notification of changes in the topic: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=enfromgroups#!forum/linux.debian.user -- Petr Voralek(JabberID: na...@jabber.cz) ... Valaki Valahol: Since I have subscribed to Your email list I am getting any kind of emails, not only those concerning my question... Is this normal and how can I stop receiving all emails, only the answers to my question ? Yes, this is normal and there is no easy way to achieve what you want. What you can do is unsubscribe and, when writing to the list, asking to be Cc'ed. The list does not require being subscribed in order to post. You fail to understand what an open source community is. It isn't free support. It isn't a service which provides for your needs, now. It is a group, where anyone can help anyone. If you are interested in giving, as well as taking, then stay in the list and maybe you can contribute something. If you're only in it for your own selfish needs, then do as some other suggest and get off the list, asking to be CC'ed with a good answer.

There's a digest version available too, but it didn't work good in the past, I don't know if it's ok now. Unfortunately we also will receive spam by the list. So I opened a special gmail account and subscribed to all these mailing lists again with that account and unsubscribed with my mail address. Now whenever I wish to find out what's going on at these mailing lists, I just log in into this special account. A little bit of filtering and everything is very tidy even in this inbox. -- Dom Delimar http://domdelimar.com -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
