lyx et fonts

2005-08-31 Thread Nicolas Sabouret
Bonjour,

Lorsque je lance lyx et que j'ouvre un document avec des formules
mathématiques, j'ai tout un tas de :
Could not get font
'-tex-cm...-medium-r-normal--17-0-0-0-p-0-fontspecific-0'. Using 'fixed'.

suivantes (outre tetex-extra) :
$ dpkg -l xfonts* | grep ii
ii xfonts-100dpi 6.8.2-mea1 100 dpi fonts for X
ii xfonts-100dpi- 6.8.2-mea1 100 dpi fonts for X (transcoded from
ISO 106
ii xfonts-base6.8.2-mea1 standard fonts for X
ii xfonts-base-tr 6.8.2-mea1 standard fonts for X (transcoded from
ISO 10
ii xfonts-intl-eu 1.2.1-3International fonts for X -- European
ii xfonts-intl-ja 1.2.1-3International fonts for X -- Japanese
ii xfonts-konsole 3.3.2-1Fonts used by the KDE Konsole
ii xfonts-scalabl 6.8.2-mea1 scalable fonts for X

Merci d'avance,
Nicolas.

Allo all, anyone know of a way to get lyx to use ttf fonts?

One solution working okay her is this:

Install a true type fontserver. I use xfstt but on the lyx mailing list
someone recommended the freetype based font server whose name I have not
at hand now.

Then edit your ~/.lyx/lyxrc and put your favourite fonts in there. You
will have to play a bit with the settings. I have this entry in the
SCREEN FONTS SECTION:
\screen_font_roman -*-verdana

 I usually use dftp so I don't know. :-)

Now, what is dftp? And what advantages do it have over dselect?

Normally they work very well. If not there'll be another release pretty

Right. But maybe it wasn't on the mirror yet.

Maby so, I try again later. How log is the usual update time for the mirrors?

If so the missing dc fonts are not suprising. They aren't in mfbasfmt
anymore but are seperately packaged in mfdcfnt, which unfortunately is
 non-free.

They are there for people to test before 1.2 comes out.
If you do backups regularly and you won't be inconvenienced
if they break, go ahead and test them. Please report any bugs
you find. In most cases, if they are horribly broken you can
uninstall them and re-install an older version. However, bugs
can be _really_bad_ sometimes, so think about what you have to
lose.

Thanks
