You are right. I am using Thunderbird as email client on Windows
machines at work. I am happy with Lightning addon (include network
calendars) in these installations. But in Linux i prefer the Claws
Mail, it has vCalendar plugin, but remote calendars support is limited
(or i don't know how to use it).

For now i am using the Orage - XFCE calendar application, but it
is without network calendars support, then i cannot share my calendars,
e.g. between PC and tablet, by simple way.

I am looking standalone calendar application too, the best one will with
Cal/CardDAV support, but i was no success :-(

I use the following little script that I borrowed from somewhere: It uses

then make it executable: chmod +x reminder and put it in your path. You

By default, when will print out your appointments for the next two
weeks when you run it. This interval is configurable of course, both
forward in time, and back in time. I have my when configured to show
me events for today and tomorrow. I simply put:

when

What DE are you using (cli tools are available too)?
There are lots of great calendars, organisers and reminder tools in the
Debian repository - my preference is for ones that intergrate well with
other tools. E.g. in KDE Korganiser intergrates with Kontacts, Kmail,
groupware, scheduling, project management tools and todos etc

Also:-
$ apt-cache search [calendar|organiser|organizer|scheduler|reminder]

and - there are extensions for Icedove that have that functionality.

Kind regards
