I'm still the upstream developer of rpncalc; I have the latest version
at the moment at my homepage http://homepage.hispeed.ch/david.frey/.

I am also aware of dc (of course) and extcalc.

Bug#258096: Try to read this,okay.

2010-10-27 Thread Janet Whitfield keril
I hope your day was great and not filled with pains like mine. It’s obvious we
don’t know each other from Adam, but I strongly believe if we come to an honest
mutual agreement our friendship can last forever. I’m yet to collect the
outstanding balance of my dad’s executed contract with a reputable oil company,
in which he perfectly executed the contract terms but the oil company did not
pay his gratuities because he passed on few months after contract completion.

During this period the oil company tried every possible means to contact and
locate me or the subcontractors who worked with my dad to receive his
outstanding balance of contract fee; eventually they couldn’t get in touch with
anyone. Not until few days ago, I was contacted by dad’s company attorney who
related the whole issue and made me fly down to Malaysia in regards to claiming
my dad’s funds. But as it stands now, the oil company at Malaysia requires me
to present to them a subcontractor/partner that worked with my dad before they
can release the funds to our possession, this is the main reason why I’m
soliciting on your understanding to co-operate with me so that we can receive
the funds and will share with you 50-50, because without your assistance there
is no way I can receive my late dad’s wealth. You can reply me to my personal

Bug#601626: ITP: sshuttle - Transparent proxy server for VPN over SSH

2010-10-27 Thread Javier Fernández-Sanguino Peña

Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2010-10-27
Severity: wishlist

Package name : sshuttle
Version : 0.42
Upstream Author : Avery Pennarun
URL : http://github.com/apenwarr/sshuttle
License : LGPL v2
Description: Transparent proxy server for VPN over SSH
Sshuttle makes it possible to access remote networks using
SSH. It creates a transparent proxy server that will forward
all the traffic through an SSH tunnel to a remote copy
 of sshuttle.
 .
It does not require installation on the remote server, which
just needs to have python installed.

Upon request from the upstream maintainer (which is also upstream
for netselect, already packaged in Debian) I have prepared some
packages for shuttle for Debian.

A pre-release of the package, for those interested in this software, is
available at http://people.debian.org/~jfs/sshuttle/

If there are testers out there I would appreciate reports on the package so
that the first Debian release is up to our standards.

Bug#601596: RFH: festival -- General multi-lingual speech synthesis system

2010-10-27 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-accessibil...@lists.debian.org

Dear Debian users and contributors,

I request assistance with maintaining the festival (and speech-tools)
package. The package is in a "good" state as of now, but it does have
a TODO list and could do with some love. While I try to do my best
with festival, since I am not familiar with the various sound
subsystems the package seems to depend on, I would be much more
comfortable if someone else steps in to oversee, assist and,
eventually, take over maintenance of the package.

If a team is willing to take over, or a team is formed for this package.

This mail has been sent with permission from the other co-maintainers
as well.

Thanks!

The package description is:
Festival offers a full text to speech system with various APIs, as well an
environment for development and research of speech synthesis techniques. It
 includes a Scheme-based command interpreter.
 .
Besides research into speech synthesis, festival is useful as a stand-alone
speech synthesis program. It is capable of producing clearly understandable
 speech from text.

Bug#577848: Progress with LCM Debian package

2010-10-27 Thread Geza Kovacs
Sorry, I slightly forgot about this after filing an ITP. I believe I
was having issues getting the Java binding generator correctly
packaged, though I no longer remember the specific issue. You are
welcome to take over; the debian directory in the SVN repository on
http://code.google.com/p/lcm/ covers most of the basic parts of the
packaging (my own packaging attempt was based on an older version,
0.4.1, and seems to now have been eclipsed by the upstream work).

Bug#491723: Status.net Debian Package

2010-10-27 Thread Leo 'costela' Antunes
Hi,

First of all thanks for taking a look at the package!

On 27/10/10 00:54, Brenda Wallace wrote:

I'm not sure if this is what you mean by "tarballs", but I forgot to
mention one thing: I never really understood the need for pristine-tar
in git-buildpackage, so I left it out. AFAICT you can accomplish the
exact same thing by exporting the upstream/X.Y.Z branch, but please let
me know if there's actually missing functionality. Should be pretty easy
to include the pristine-tars later on.

I also didn't see any problem with the merging from upstream, but
probably because I'm not working on a clone and instead using a simple
git-import-orig to directly merge everything from the released tarball
into the repo. I believe this is the sanest way to keep the debian repo,
i.e. logically separate from the upstream repo. We just perform "merges"
- actually imports - from upstream when there's a release, so debian
packaging work and upstream development work have well defined boundaries.

Thanks!
I personally use lighty too, but I just didn't get around to testing it yet.

Perfect. This makes our lives significantly easier! :)

As mentioned above, I believe the best way to manage the debian repo is
by importing upstream releases, keeping them as close as possible to the
upstream state and keeping changes inside the /debian dir as much as
possible. Specially since this makes for a more straightforward
structure for people who want to work with or build the package directly
from the orig.tar.gz + debian.tar.gz, instead of from the repo. This has
the not-so-neat side-effect that some "useless" files which are included
in the upstream tarball have to remain in the repo.

I obviously don't mean to dictate other people's workflow and certainly
don't want to alienate anyone from helping out with the packaging work,
but the practicalities from a debian-maintainer perspective IMHO
overweight the small size increase in the repo.

Cheers

Bug#597641: package ready

2010-10-27 Thread chrysn
the issues with upstream (it was unclear who is upstream) are resolved,
marcus wolschon took over the project.

by now, the package is in a state where i consider it ready. leftover
lintian messages are debian-watch-file-is-missing from wishlist (on
purpose, as there is an incorrectly labelled file in sourceforge) and
no-upstream-changelog from pedantic (wel...).

the current version of the package is visolate_2.1.6~svn8-1 as my
patches i'd otherwise ship as debian patches are already included there.
(i'm keeping them in git in the style of git-dpm but struggling with
git-dpm itself, but given that that the patches affect just 4 lines,
that shouldn't be too much of an issue.)

you can find the current .dsc at mentors[1] -- please review the
packaging, and if there are no new issues, i'm looking for someone to
sponsor the upload!

Bug#601564: RFP: snoop -- A GNU/Linux file descriptor monitoring tool

2010-10-27 Thread Mark Hobley
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: snoop
  Version : 0.3.0
  Upstream Author : Florin Malita
* URL : http://www.sourcefiles.org/Monitoring/Miscellaneous/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : A GNU/Linux file descriptor monitoring tool

Snoop provides a mechanism for attaching to any open file descriptor and
intercepting data. This can be useful in various scenarios (live user
monitoring being probably the most common).

Inspired by FreeBSD's watch/snp, snoop goes beyond simple tty monitoring
by allowing the interception of any type of file descriptor (currently
limited to the standard namespace addressable entities though) on the fly:
regular files, character devices, ttys, ptys, named fifos, etc.
