[Bug 41274] Re: In Ubuntu Dapper Beta leaflet pdf, letters are not aligned
Specifically, some of the documents with issues have been produced by LaTeX (pdflatex and others). It's annoying to have to use a different font when producing LaTeX documents, because Computer Modern has been the standard for around 2 decades now. [Bug 41610] Re: Screen Resolution tool fails to switch between MergedFB dualhead and clone modes
In a glance: if I use MergedFB for dual monitor setup the Screen resloution tool gets confused about refresh rates (in Hz) and cannot properly run xrandr backend to switch the resolutoins - even though xrandr itself can do it fine. [Bug 42003] Re: no root file system
I see this also, using todays (20060430?) 'desktop' cd. Has happened twice, going in for the thrid go now. Ran installer and from desktop with these steps: * selected manually partition * created a root partition, and swap, (these are to be formatted) and asked to re-use /home parition w/o formatting * Continue to the end of the installer * begins creating partitions then comes up with 'no root file system' dialouge * pressed okay, dialouge stops at 15% (left for an hour, no change) fdisk -l, after rebooting from failed install, shows the partitions were created. However, starting up the installer again, the partitioning screen shows /dev/sda2 (was going to be root), as 'unknown' type. -- no root file system https://launchpad.net/bugs/42003 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

update from previous post: I tried two things differently this time (realised just then should have tried one then the other): 1) pre-formatted root and swap using gparted (inside livecd session) 2) when you arrive at the mountpoint setup screen, the swap partition was listed first. [Bug 27014] Re: evolution bug, Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync
It seems persistant now. After opening Evolution for the second time, it came back again, as soon as I switched it to online mode. The difference is that I had new email (the above comment). I've also noticed emails are duplicated each time the error appears (like the inital reporter). When I had this a few weeks ago, I had a couple of thousand new emails, because automatic background checking was enabled and I just shrugged and dismissed the error, left it alone for a while, not realising how quickly new emails piled up. After clicking away error after error I googled for a solution. Fortunately, this time there are only about 350 new emails. But I'm now a bit afraid of using Evolution, even though it has grown on me and I kinda depend on it now. -- evolution bug, Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync https://launchpad.net/bugs/27014 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 42254] Re: Doesn't return from system tray
/apps/xchat/plugins/notification/persistant is deprecated. It's replaced by the level key. With the level set to 3, the tray icon should be displayed only for important messages (query, nick citation or word highlighting). So it should not be displayed automatically at startup. Does it? Furthermore, clicking on the tray icon shoud hide x-g only when your level is set to 0. Are you sure you're using the notification plugin from the Dapper package (0.11)? [Bug 40340] Re: Drivemount applet shows my root and boot partition
Had a closer look which partitions are mounted under /boot and /1 - these are /dev/hda1 and /dev/hda8 which are not the Dapper / and /boot partitions. This means that the Dapper / and /boot Partitions are NOT shown in the Drivemount applet - so I was wrong with that. But as I wrote in my initial post the behaviour of how Dapper shows mounted partitions changed between Flight versions. As far as I remember older Dapper Flights did not show partitions like other root filesystem partitions in the drivemount applet... That made me wonder since they appeared in the applet and that's why I posted this report. But if this is your preferred way how Dapper shall show other mounted partitions everything is OK and this bug report is invalid. -- Drivemount applet shows my root and boot partition https://launchpad.net/bugs/40340 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
