[Bug 41871] Re: xmms' volume slider should not mess with PCM but with master
Indeed, the Totem volume control doesn't affect the master volume, or any other hardware mixer: Totem uses a software mixer. The slider from the gnome mixer applet only affects the master volume. XMMS by default (in Ubuntu) defaults to the hardware PCM mixer. I don' t know about mplayer... If you open XMMS and decrease the volume, the PCM mixer is decreased. The software mixer from Totem, nor the master volume is affected by this. You can however increase the volume without opening XMMS, by opening the gnome-mixer window and increase the PCM slider. -- xmms' volume slider should not mess with PCM but with master https://launchpad.net/bugs/41871 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 37706] Re: [Live CD Dapper Drake/Flight 6] Totem resizes window after start out of screen
I'm able to reproduce your bug using Dapper 20060522. Confirming, steps to reproduce: 1. Open Nautilus and go to /usr/share/example-content. 2. Click to open SeeUbuntu.ogg, Totem opens playing the file. 3. Close Totem. 4. Click to open SeeUbuntu.ogg again from Nautilus. The totem window title bar is not shown anymore and is hidden under the top panel. This is a usability issue. The window actions are only acessible by right clicking the taskbar or right clicking a window border. Isn't this a window manager bug? [Bug 39098] Re: thinkpad: volume button weighting
Something will probably change with the behaviour (visibley, or otherwise) in the next version of Ubuntu. For Dapper/6.06, we currently have a situation where when pressing the VolumeUp key, the volume increases; and if you press the VolumeDown key, the volume decreases.
