[Bug 267635] Re: Moving item changes focus when it shouldn't
Great Idea! I would kick this bug up a notch and allow the user to ctrl- click or shift-click multiple items and bulk-move them (or for that matter allow the user to turn them off in one click when multiple items are selected). That way you don't have to "keep navigating back when moving a lot of items" as you say. ** Changed in: alacarte (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Moving item changes focus when it shouldn't https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to alacarte in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, , because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 33673] Re: Not obvious when logout is stalled by window on another virtual desktop / window beneath front-most one / window is minimised
The bug is not yet fixed in gedit, but there's been serious improvement in intrepid. If you try to shutdown intrepid using the fast user switcher applet, you now always get a window telling you when a program is blocking logout. You have the choice to lock the screen, cancel logout request, or logout anyway. It would be interesting to see if this nice new intrepid feature gets applied to all shutdown menus. [Bug 224351] Re: can't see Windows shared drives in Ubuntu 8,04
How do I report confirmation of the bug described above? i.e. Nautilus in ubuntu 8.04 can't browse Windows shares On a true peer-to-peer network (a subnet with NO domain controler, NO wins server, NO dedicated single servers of any kind). In ubuntu 8.04.1 the Nautilus network file browser fails to get and show the shares from Windows machines when the shares are not anonymous (when the shares require user/password authentication). Nautilus DOES show the shares from other types of linux machines (say from CentOS 5.2 machines). For example: If one of the Windows Xp machines is named "LAPTOP" and is sharing the entire C drive (no rants please) Smbclient -L LAPTOP is able to get the shares and is able to connect, after you provide a password smb//LAPTOP/C<--WORKS FINE However, since these are NOT anonymous shares from the Windows box, smbclient -L LAPTOP -N returns: /home/greg #smbclient -L LAPTOP -N Anonymous login successful Domain=[MYGROUP] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager] Sharename Type Comment - --- cli_rpc_pipe_open: cli_nt_create failed on pipe \srvsvc to machine LAPTOP. I have been unable to find any way change the configurations (on ubuntu or Windows) and make authenticated WindowsXP shares work. Thank You. Wait a few seconds for the panel to restart itself again. 3. See that the non-Gnome-icons of the icons are missing in the notification-area. Actual results: See above. [Bug 223812] Re: [hardy] Regression: powernowd no longer works with some chipsets
I also confirm that gatopeich's version of the powernowd script works for me also. A small secondary effect is that the gnome cpufreq-applet does not allow to change the governor. Instead of proposing powersave, performance and so on..., it only shows "performance" which actually throttles the frequency depending on cpu load. [Bug 241206] Re: On Hardy screen saver never displays
Happens here too; also, an ATI. To be more specific (since for some reason this is marked 'incomplete' despite multiple confirmations of the existence of the bug): (1) open gnome-screensaver-preferences; observe that previews for screensavers work fine (2) set to (for example) 'regard the computer as idle after' [1 minute] and 'activate screensaver when computer is idle' (3) close the dialog, wait one minute (4) observe that the screen starts to fade, as if the screensaver is kicking in (5) immediately after the screen fades to black, the screen goes back to full brightness and does not lock. EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: the screensaver turns on; if the option is selected, the screen is locked. This absolutely should not be low importance: (1) the software fails to fulfill its primary task (blank the screen) (2) this is a security problem, as the screen doesn't lock. Didn't happen with any previous Ubuntu release on this same exact hardware (which has had every Ubuntu release on it since... hrm, whatever B was?) -- On Hardy screen saver never displays https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241206 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 264801] Re: Crash: (ga-client.c:237):ga_client_start: assertion failed: (priv->poll == NULL)
Ah, Sebastian, I understand. Thanks. The patched version has been running without this crash for the better part of the day now, though, as I said, the bug is intermittent and difficult to trigger. (I've had crashes, but those were all bug 256495.) I'll continue using epiphany for everyday browsing (I'm running all instances under gdb now), and report back immediately if I see a crash in ga_client_start. Given that the crash happened at least once daily, I'll consider it a fix if the browser doesn't die (from this bug) by tonight. Does that sound reasonable? Should I set up a PPA for further testing?
