Using gtk-2.0 2.15.5 this bug still exists. And others are also still experiencing the problem since it is continuing to appear on the development forums. Interesting side note, the password will be accepted and the screen will become unlocked however the screensaver will not give up focus to anything else. [Bug 341201] [NEW] merge 'Passwords and Encryption Keys with Encryption and Keyrings

[Bug 340834] [NEW] Power Manager misnames External power source as AC power
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager === The Issue === The Power Manager applet in Gnome says my computer is on AC power when it's plugged in. All computers run on DC power, just that most desktops convert the power they're fed to DC inside of their power supplies. Saying the computer is on AC power to me seems like an annoying misnomer. Laptops will essentially always have a power cord that includes an AC to DC adapter in the middle of the cord - so the laptop is fed DC and has no awareness of anything to do with AC power. === My Suggestion === I'd just use the terms External and Internal power - this is somewhat ambiguizing, however it's about as accurate as you can generally get for this sort of thing. * Yes, I know I'm being picky, but hey, it's not like being accurate in our choice of terms here costs us money. Besides, it's not crippling, go ahead and ignore me if you guys like - only thing is, I think it kind of hurts Ubuntu slightly to have a misnomer like that, or at least, it would in the eyes of certain weird people. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: New ** Tags: ac external gnome-power-manager -- Power Manager misnames External power source as AC power https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/340834 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I'm not sure why that note is directed at me. I am using the launchpad.net web interface, and I am not CC:ing anyone. I think the problem is actually that I've completely misunderstood how the dialog works. The button says Set system time... and the ellipsis indicates to me that this should open a new dialog. Instead, it closes the dialog. I think the way it actually works is that you first set the time, and then click the button to effect the changes. Is that correct? If so, I apologize for the confusion and I think this is just a usability issue. I'm sure it used to work differently in a previous release... -- - mdz -- Unable to set system time: helper refused https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337445 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
