Re: [Bug 601908] Re: file-roller does not allow to select multiple files by mouse

2010-07-06 Thread lipstick
Yes, I have also realized that it is not possible to make multiple
selections by mouse on list mode at nautilus. In my opinion, there must
be a way to allow such actions by mouse.

Maybe a icon view mode to file-roller would be fine. Thanks.

[Bug 602306] Re: falha de inicio de sesão

2010-07-06 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 482777] Re: colors in video are wrong

2010-07-06 Thread keepitsimpleengr
Upgrading (online inplace, online with CD, off-line with CD)
distribution from 9.10 to 10.04 result in system becoming unresponsive
and unusable.

Several bug reports have been filed
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/600761)
but there has been no response/reply regarding them.

So I would say any testing on a new GStreamer would be moot.

update to evince-common_2.30.3-0ubuntu3 with apparmor changes gave me a
thought. dmesg output with evince/apparmor errors in the attached file.

Please consider that my FS layout:
/dev/sda1 on /media type ext4 (rw,errors=remount-ro)

/home is a symlink:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2010-05-20 15:37 home - /media/home/

and also I have encrypted $HOME

apparmor doesn't like it, I think.

Pedro,

Ok, I got advice on Ubuntu Forums to use program scrot to get a screenshot
in Maverick. It works, but unfortunately, when I go to the terminal screen
to run scrot, gnomines goes into Pause mode, so that is the screen that the
shot is made of. It will not help to solve the problem.

[Bug 147163] Re: Evolution does not notify on missed alarms

2010-07-06 Thread Noo 2 Ubuntoo
I gave up checking settings as I am no programmer and there was too
much code to compare with my friend whose notifications work OK.

I tried Pentagon's solution and got the same result as ingo.

Alarms worked fine for me in Jaunty and Karmic and stopped upon
installation (via update manager) of Lucid.

The problem continues as an irritation but would stop me from using it
in a business. I still think that some of us are having slightly bad
installs as not many people are complaining.

You can get Sunbird from Mozilla website (although not supported by
Ubuntu) but it has a bug with recurring appointments (which I have). It
doesn't integrate with Gnome desktop so you have to run it all the time
to get the reminders - might as well stick with Evolution and check the
appointments in the drop down calendar on the desktop.

This problem also manifested itself coming out of hibernation. GNOME/pm-

glitch. Because this happened coming fresh from a clean shutdown, it
seems this problem is due to the radeon driver:

Well, just to gather some votes...

I also would like to have the nice toggle button back. Even if I work

is not the optimal solution.

And... a single button does not that much space of the interface I

[Bug 602529] [NEW] Jumpy behavior when trying to grab the volume slider

2010-07-06 Thread James Milazzo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

1) Release: 10.04

2)
gnome-media:
  Installed: 2.30.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.30.0-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3)What I expected to happen:
Click and hold on the slider button in the volume control applet so that I can
drag it up or down to adjust the volume.

4)When you go to click on the slider in the volume control applet, it
sometimes causes the volume to be scrolled up or down as long as the
mouse button is depressed (the mouse isn't being dragged at all). It
appears that it is behaving as if one were to click on the horizontal
line upon which the slider rests, instead of clicking on the slider
itself to grab it. While this seems like a relatively small bug, it can
often cause the volume to become disruptively loud, against the
intentions of the user.

[Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult

2010-07-06 Thread fermulator
@ Melroy van den Berg
[QUOTE]
Clem has a good alternative in the mainwhile:
press Alt on the keyboard while pressing the middle click on the mouse to
resize the window
[/QUOTE]

This workaround doesn't work on terminal windows (or anything that
happens to have an editable text field if you're mouse is over it it
wants to quickpaste text instead of resize. heh.)

[Bug 529338] Re: [regression-release] Keyring not unlocked on login anymore in Lucid

2010-07-06 Thread SarahK
I'm running a dual boot (single drive) NTFS Vista/ext3 Ubuntu system.
Bug 576724 does not apply to me, Vista boots just fine.

Model: ATA WDC WD800BEVS-08 (scsi)
Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: msdos

Number Start End SizeType File system Flags
 1 1049kB 7313MB 7312MB primary ntfs
 2 7313MB 52.3GB 45.0GB primary ntfsboot
 3 52.3GB 62.3GB 9994MB primary ext3
 4 62.3GB 80.0GB 17.7GB extended
 6 62.3GB 78.0GB 15.7GB logical ext3
 5 78.0GB 80.0GB 1997MB logical linux-swap(v1)

I suspect this bug is completely unrelated to file system. For me the
bug was triggered by adding the line auth sufficient pam_fprint.so to
/etc/pam.d/common-auth to allow a fingerprint login. Reverting common-
auth to the default version and using my password to log in allowed the
keyring to unlock. Take a look at the bug referenced by J Bruni above
and see what you think.

[Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult

2010-07-06 Thread fermulator
Interesting, it didn't work for me at all. The window would basically
get sent to background behind other windows.

I had to apply the patch in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/207065. Now,
Alt+MiddleClick resize works on any window, and if I so choose,
Alt+RightClick resize works on any window.
