[Bug 692430] Re: vinagre shows ipv6 vnc servers but cannot connect to them
-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692430 Title: vinagre shows ipv6 vnc servers but cannot connect to them -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 692430] [NEW] vinagre shows ipv6 vnc servers but cannot connect to them
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vinagre When you run vinagre, it shows locally-discovered VNC servers (including localhost if remote desktop control is enabled). It shows two entries for each server, eg: * rocko on galactica (10.1.1.1) * rocko on galactica (fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd) Both connections appear to be the same - the different address is only shown in the hint on mouse-over. The problem is that the ipv6 connection always fails to connect. The ipv6 connection is definitely working, at least for pings: ping6 -I wlan0 fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd PING fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd(fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd) from fe80::21f:3bff:fe61:2f29 wlan0: 56 data bytes I would expect that either ipv6 connections not get shown at all, or vinagre should be able to connect to them. This issue also occurs in Maverick. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: vinagre 2.30.3-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.37-10.24-generic 2.6.37-rc6 Uname: Linux 2.6.37-10-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Dec 20 13:02:17 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Alpha i386 (20100602.2) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=en_AU.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: vinagre ** Affects: vinagre (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692430 Title: vinagre shows ipv6 vnc servers but cannot connect to them -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 659001] Re: files listed on command line are play in semi random order
I just copied a bunch of video files from a camera memory stick, selected them in nautilus, right-clicked and selected "Open with Movie Player" and the same problem happened. Checking the running processes, I see: totem /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13156.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13157.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13158.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13159.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13160.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13161.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13162.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13163.MP4 /home/chris/Pictures/SDC13164.MP4 ie. they're listed in numerical order. But in the totem application, they're all jumbled up, and play out of order. So this bug doesn't only affect people using the command line, but also people using nautilus. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659001 Title: files listed on command line are play in semi random order -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 692421] [NEW] gnome-power-manager brightness levels are not right
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Hello, Ubuntu geeks. I have a kinda old laptop. Just installed Ubuntu 10.10 Mavericks but I come across some problems. Most inportantly is the brightness control problem. My laptop has 8 levels adjustment settings. But only 4 levels can be adjust when I press Fn+F7 and FN+F8 to change to the maximum or minimum. I think this is a bug and wanna solve it, so I reported here. I used this command below to check the brightness levels info in the /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD03/brightness. cat '/proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD03/brightness It returns these values below. levels: 13 25 38 50 63 75 88 100 current: 63 And I checked the /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD03/EDID, it's empty. Is this normal or Ubuntu hasn't recognized my laptop LCD correctly? I did dmesg|tail -5 command and it returns this below. [ 2025.850319] EXT4-fs (sda4): re-mounted. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Starting evolution with the "--express" option is a handy way to save screen real estate. [Bug 692403] Re: Plugin-container
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug. [Bug 692407] [NEW] Google / Gmail option missing in contacts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I followed these instructions on your website: Getting Gmail contacts synchonised in Evolution This setting will allow a user to see his Gmail contacts in Evolution (even for offline use). This method creates a new address book that synchronises with Gmail contacts. 1. On the Evolution Contacts window, select the New drop-down menu and choose Addess Book. The New Address Book window will appear. 2. Ensure that Type is set to Google. 3. In the Name field, enter a name for the new calendar. 4. In the Username field, enter your Google username. This will be something like usern...@gmail.com. 5. Check Use SSL. 6. Click on the OK button. The new address book should then be displayed in the Contacts list under Google. Existing contacts should be shown and new contacts synchronised. These instructions worked on Ubuntu 10.04, the no longer work on Ubuntu 10.10 (Evolution 2.30.3) Now the only options available are: - On This Computer - On LDAP Servers (I'm guessing this is what I need, any ideas how to set it up?) [Bug 572778] [NEW] audio and video playback glitches in totem (Ubuntu 10.04 lucid i386)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm running 10.04 lucid. depending on the file type, the bug acts differently. with mp4, the video will become unsync'd with the audio and will speed or freeze depending on how bad it gets. with mkv the audio will stop and come back seemingly at random with no effect on the video. its unaffected by video card or video card divers. and compiz has no effect on it either. I noticed my friends computer was doing the same when I ungraded him to 10.04 yesterday. he is running an ATI x1300 card (open drivers) and im running nvidia 8400 gst (closed drivers). And on top of that I have an Intel processor and he has a amd x64. So it seems to have absolutly nothing to do with hardware. I haven't tested any other video player yet, so it may have something to do with totem or gstreamer. there is no problem that I can hear with audio in general though, rhythmbox plays fine no problems. so it seems to limited to video files only for some reason This bug was not in 9.10, it just started after upgrading to 10.04. To reproduce all I have to do is play an mp4 or mkv file. the videos are in 720p if it helps any. this doesn't happen when playing avi files, though that may or may not be because they are SD. ** Affects: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- audio and video playback glitches in totem (Ubuntu 10.04 lucid i386) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/572778 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 692250] [NEW] cannot create folder or file when in list view
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus In the icon view, you can create a new folder or empty file by right- clicking on any empty region of the window and selecting "create folder" or "create document / empty file" in the dropdown menu. When in List view, you can also do that but only IF there is some empty space after the end of the list. If there are enough items in the folder, there won't ever be even a single pixel of empty space (no matter how much you scroll) where you can right-click and do "create folder". The only way to create a folder in such case is to switch to icon view, or to use the File menu ("file / create folder") which is a little annoying.
