[Bug 769234] Re: Notifications are delayed if contacts send messages too fast
@Martin Pitt : I tested the way this works on Unity and I'm impressed: It works great! --at least with one contact sending several messages. However, testing the thing more thoroughly -- and I don't think this will truly be a problem -- I noticed that if two people send one message per second or so the second person's messages are not notified at all. MSN messenger responds to this with several notifications, one on top of the other. Empathy 2.34.0 from the -proposed repository seems to handle this quite well. The fix is good for me and the quick response to this bug was great. [Bug 610131] Re: Facebook contacts cannot be added to groups
Honestly, how is this bug classified as "Won't Fix?" Facebook is one of the most utilized protocols regardless of which client someone uses. The whole point of using an IM client such as empathy, pidgin, or digsby is to combine multiple protocols into one EASY TO USE interface. If the empathy developers really don't have the time or want to put in the effort to fix an issue associated with one of their biggest protocols that is fine, but they should also expect to lose users in the process. Again, the reason most users want to use empathy, or clients like empathy, is to group contacts from multiple sources into a single, easy to use interface. I hope that this is fixed soon, or I will be turning to a different client that fixes issues like this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/610131 Title: Facebook contacts cannot be added to groups -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 327082] Re: Totem crashes on loading files
This is still an issue in Ubuntu 11.04 amd64 (fully updated) but the request_code is different so I'm not sure if it's the same bug. The program 'totem' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'. (Details: serial 93 error_code 2 request_code 133 minor_code 19) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) [Bug 689426] Re: Confusing error message when an audio call fails
Sorry for slow response. I have updated the report with the empathy version and the steps to reproduce. Actually this is not really a bug, but rather just bad error message. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: empathy + + I am using empathy 2.34.0. I received the following message when the sound capture failed during an audio call: There was a failure in the call engine: Could not link source The underlying problem turned out to be incorrect configuration of the default gstreamer source. [Bug 793763] [NEW] The resize window area is overlaying with buttons
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity The resize window area is overlaying with some buttons. It happens in Gnome (No effects) so it's not related to compiz. I attach my auth.log and syslog, which seem to contain a few suspicious lines, such as: * polkitd(authority=local): Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-session:/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Session2... * gdm-session-worker[4652]: WARNING: Unable to load file '/etc/gdm/custom.conf'... * gdm-simple-greeter[4649]: Gtk-WARNING: /build/buildd/gtk+2.0-2.24.4/gtk/gtkwidget.c:5687: widget not within a GtkWindow * gdm-session-worker[4652]: GLib-GObject-CRITICAL: g_value_get_boolean: assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_BOOLEAN (value)' failed Especially the assertion in the last line does not seem very reassuring to me but I have no idea what may have caused it. [Bug 793616] Re: lucid and maverick are incompatible with latest iOS
SRU Request: Impact of the issue: Lucid and Maverick users that update the firmware of their iPod Touch and iPhone devices can no longer access them in Lucid and Maverick. This issue was resolved by backporting a couple of minimal changes from the upstream tree. These fixes already ship in Natty. See attached debdiffs for Lucid and Maverick. I tested this update on Lucid with gtkpod and rhythmbox on an iPod Touch still running 4.0.1, and an iPod Touch that had been upgraded to 4.3.3. The updated packages solved the issue for the new iOS version, while maintaining compatibility with the old one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to libimobiledevice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/793616 Title: lucid and maverick are incompatible with latest iOS -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 680148] Nautilus does not show emblems.
Thanks for your reply. A power spike during a thunder storm resulted in the boot sequence of Ubuntu becoming corrupted. I had to reinstall from CD. After that, the emblems were OK. Since then, I have never tried to synchronize any folders outside the Ubuntu One folder and all emblems display OK now. I think the problem resulted from my trying to synchronize folders outside Ubuntu One and the other named home folders. Thanks. [Bug 793553] [NEW] I cannot configure GNOME so that my laptop does not suspend when closing the lid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome I often use my laptop with the lid closed, by SSHing in and having the application windows displaying on the 23-inch monitor of my PC. Now with Oneiric a problem occured. All the sophisticated, fine-grained configuration tools were thrown away in favor of the much more simplified apps in the new GNOME System Settings (I successfully defended system-config-printer with the following Blueprint/UDS session: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-o-system-config- printer-vs-gnome-3-control-center) and so there is no way any more to select what should happen when closing the laptop's lid (should be under "Power") and this is currently hard-coded to suspend the laptop. One also cannot set the screen to never turn off (under "Screen"). Can we get these controls back? ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Package changed: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) => gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome I often use my laptop with the lid closed, by SSHing in and having the application windows displaying on the 23-inch monitor of my PC.
