[Bug 815349] Re: gvfsd-dav crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-07-28 Thread Florian Echtler
This bug is actually caused by libproxy0, specifically by a string
parsing error in url.c:308 - when the URL contains username and port,
but no pass, the parsing fails. A workaround is to specifiy neither user
nor password in the connect to dialog, but to enter both in the
password dialog that follows.

[Bug 592109] Re: File-roller invalid encoding errors filenames when you're decompressing

2011-07-28 Thread Xavier Guillot
Hello,

Bug still present in Ubuntu Natty 11.04.3 with File-Roller 2.32.2

Problem with accents on letters like é (very used in french).

Compressing works well, but opening the file zipped does not work and I
get error message, example for file Intérim.pdf :

caution: filename not matched: Int\?\?rim.pdf

Tested also on Oneiric alpha with File-Roller 3, it works fine, so bug
seems corrected In Gnome 3, but for LTS users of Natty, could be great
to patch it.

[Bug 557571] Re: gedit cannot automatically recognise document character encoding

2011-07-28 Thread Oliver Joos
I agree that there should be at least an option to open as ascii-bytes
or something.

@Alberto: If you want your wish to be heard you should open a new bug
report about that - preferably on gnome.org directly (if there is not
already one). As alternative try the scite text editor.

[Bug 817466] [NEW] [regression] crash on startup when initializing spamassassin

2011-07-28 Thread Fabien Tassin
Public bug reported:

After the 3.1.3-0ubuntu2 = 3.1.4-0ubuntu1 upgrade in oneiric this morning,
evolution started to crash on startup.
100% reproducible.

It seems to happen while initializing the spamassassin plugin.

Attached a trace.

For now, I've downgraded both evo and e-d-s (to 3.1.3.1-0ubuntu3) and
it's ok.

[Bug 597227] Re: Should Metacity really show up as a program in Software Center instead of a system package?

2011-07-28 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: software-center
+ software-center 2.0.5, Ubuntu 10.04
+ software-center 4.0.4, Ubuntu 11.04

- Since Metacity shows up as a program, it also shows up in the Installed
- Software list, so any user can be looking through the installed
- software and think, Metacity? GTK window manager? What's that? I don't
- need that! and remove it, which I'm sure would cause some serious
- problems if that user decided to turn off visual effects or never had
- them on in the first place. Also, Metacity seems more like a system
- package than a program.
+ 1. Navigate to Installed Software.
+ 2. Scroll down to M.

- (And by the way, I don't think every word needs to be capitalized in
- some parts of Software Center, like Get Software and Installed
- Software.)
+ What happens: Metacity shows up by default.

- ProblemType: Bug
- DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04
- Package: software-center 2.0.5

+ Any user can be looking through the installed software and think,
+ Metacity? GTK window manager? What's that? I don't need that! and
+ remove it, which I'm sure would cause some serious problems if that user
+ decided to turn off visual effects or never had them on in the first
+ place. Also, Metacity seems more like a system package than a program.
+
+ What should happen: Metacity should be hidden by default, not appearing
+ unless you choose Show technical items.
+
+ This can be implemented by removing Metacity's desktop file.
+
+ [This bug report also previously mentioned capitalization of Get
+ Software and Installed Software, which is mostly obviated by the 5.0
+ redesign.]

[Bug 817502] [NEW] palimpsest does not reports the missing mdadm package while trying to start RAID array

2011-07-28 Thread Загорія Сергій
Public bug reported:

When I boot from LiveUSB and try to start RAID0 array in Gnome-disk-utility it
just says
Not enough components to start the RAID array.
The problem is gone after installing mdadm (BTW it's installing postfix
alongside, which is not necessary and can be avoided with
--no-install-recommends).
It could at least say what is needed for the RAID management.

[Bug 815879] Re: segfault at aaaaaaf6 ip b74fb12f sp bfda8270 error 4 in libgtk-3.so.0.108.0[b722d000+482000]

2011-07-28 Thread Harry
I haven't seen this behaviour with the nvidia-current from the Oneiric repos.
However, if I upgrade to the version 280.11 from xorg-edgers,
terminal will not completely shut down.
In fact, when trying to reboot my system, I get a warning message saying
terminal is not responding and the computer just hangs, it will not shut down.
I get this behaviour with both gnome-shell and gnome-panel sessions.

What makes this interesting, is that if I install the previous nvidia-
current version from xorg-edgers (280.04), everything works OK.

I have fully updated Oneiric 64-bit setup
Nvidia 285 GTX

[Bug 704232] Re: can´t resize ¨side pane¨

2011-07-28 Thread David
Here's a PDF that shows the bug. Once the side pane is enlarged, it is
forever large. I can make it even bigger, but never smaller than
wherever it previously stopped. If I close and re-open the file, the
side pane's previous (large) size for this document persists, and still
will not allow resize to the left. Other documents do not behave this
way.

[Bug 393585] Re: Focused/unfocused selection colors are confusingly similar

2011-07-28 Thread John Faulkner
I was looking for information on a very similar issue and google brought
me here. I think the reason nobody's posted a screenshot is because it's
quite difficult to grab one as print-screen causes it to lose focus.
With a time delayed shot, however, I grabbed one and figured I may as
well post it.

This happens with all selections across GTK including standard text
boxes. I'm pretty sure it's just a GTK colour value tweak and really is
a small papercut issue, though I honestly don't know enough to be sure.

This is using the clearlooks theme on Ubuntu 10.04LTS and has caught me
out several times. Please let me know if I'm mis-informed or if this is
in the wrong place.

Re: [Bug 815057] Re: terminalwindow invisible, menu visible

2011-07-28 Thread Henk_ububugs
Hello Pedro,

Thank you for your quick response.

I switched off (and back on) gnome-compatibility in Compiz and now the
terminal is back and works as it should.
The system seems to be working fine now. I've had some issues with
compiz since I swithched to Lynx.
The combination seems to be unstable (at least on my config).

Sorry for the bother,

With kind regards,
Henk.

[Bug 817174] Only as reported... 10.04 not 11.04

2011-07-28 Thread SuperEngineer
Pedro,
I have just checked as per your request.

The disconnect is only as reported... 10.04 not 11.04.
The disconnect does not happen using 11.04 + Rhythmbox 0.13.3
So summary is: it only appears to happen using the LTS.
(Standard versions of Rhythmbox from each version's repository)

Bill B. [SuperEngineer]
