[Bug 1853584] Re: [18.04]Not able to adjust Audio input UI volume after connecting headset

2019-11-26 Thread hugh chao
@Sebastien,

No, it's not from upstream, due to the code is quite different from
upstream.

If there is only one input device with only one input port, and this
input port is active_port, e.g. there is no internal mic, just a mic
jack on the machine, this issue will happen.

For this kind of machines, if users plug mic in the jack, the function
active_input_update() is called ahead of the function
add_input_ui_entry(), then we will see "No devices in the tree, so
cannot set the active output" from syslog, this issue will be
reproduced.

On other machines, the add_input_ui_entry() is called ahead of
active_input_update(), then there is no problem.

So for this patch, just checking if there is only one input item in the
treeview, call active_input_update(). And call
gtk_widget_set_sensitive() to gray out the input volume bar if there
isn't any input item in the treeview.

[Bug 1854085] Re: Totem segfaults on launch

2019-11-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

Per comment #5 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-

report, and link this old bug.

(Also, add a comment here with the link to the new bug report, so folks
that are subscribed to this bug and are also still experiencing this
issue can indicate that they are impacted).

[Bug 1854077] [NEW] evolution 3.34.1-2: Not possible to remove a single instance of a recurring event

2019-11-26 Thread Dennis Aldea
Public bug reported:

Evolution displays all instances of a recurring event, even instances
that have been "deleted" (set as recurrence exceptions). This bug has
been fixed in Evolution 3.34.2 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME
/evolution-data-server/issues/162). Would it be possible to patch this,
or will I have to wait for 20.04?

Distribution: Pop! OS 19.10 (Eoan)
Package: evolution
Version: 3.34.1-2

(This is my first bug report; sorry if I'm doing this wrong.)

[Bug 1853894] Re: Strange Hang with old SWT Apps

2019-11-26 Thread eitch
I don't see how this can be in the Java stack, if it works on LTS but
doesn't on later releases. Also, using the "dbus-launch" command solves
the issue. I have not been able to make a smaller release yet.

I have read of other people with a similar issue:

[Bug 1773207] Re: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/tracker-2.0/libtracker-data.so.0: undefined symbol: sqlite3_bind_pointer

2019-11-26 Thread Karl Kastner
The file in /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib are both identical. I kept the
old one in a separate folder and it has the same sha1sum. But the file
in /usr/lib seems to be spurious as well, since it is not associated
with any package and variants with newer timestamp of libsqlite3.so.0
persists in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ and /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/,
Nautilus still works after having moved /usr/lib/ libsqlite3.so.0 into
quarantaine as well as well.

diff by the way also works also on binaries, it only echos "binary files
differ" for files that differ, instead of printing the actual difference
on screen.

Anyway, thanks for the tip to resolve the problem.

It didn't give you a report ID? Can you look at
https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file
/var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine and share the url?

the files were probably not identical, diff works on text content, not

I've just run "ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_lib_gvfs_gvfsd-

normal?

2019-11-26 Thread Karl Kastner
Ah, thanks, Nautilus works again after removing
/usr/local/lib/libsqlite3.so.0. Wonder where the file in /usr/local/lib
came from. It's also strange that the files in /usr/lib and /usr/local
lib were identical according to diff.

BTW, a little workaround: For me the crashes appeared most often in the
commit dialog; you can disable the commit dialog and thus the crash by
enabling the "Commit from Local Changes without showing the Commit
dialog" option under "Version Control > Commit Dialog". I'm using
PHPStorm 2019.2.5

[Bug 1853894] Re: Strange Hang with old SWT Apps

2019-11-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, the issue is more likely to be in the
java stack than in gtk. Did you try to get a backtrace using gdb while
it's hanging? it might give a clue of what it's stuck.

Can you maybe come with a smaller testcase that trigger the issue and
that you could share?

If the pulseaudio tools works fine so it might be a gnome-control-center

[Bug 1773207] Re: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/tracker-2.0/libtracker-data.so.0: undefined symbol: sqlite3_bind_pointer

2019-11-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks, the missing symbol is explained by the ldd output

libsqlite3.so.0 => /usr/local/lib/libsqlite3.so.0
(0x7f1d4eca)

There is a /usr/local installation which is taking over the Ubuntu one
and probably incompatible. Those are usually the result of a manual
build/make install. If you clean that file (and maybe others in the same
directory) nautilus should work again
