The problem with this bug is that it is also present in other applications that is built on Eclipse. I've experienced the button-problem in both Zend Studio and Aptana. The "workaround" is to click on the button so that it becomes active ( or marked ) and then press enter or the key combination for the specific button. [Bug 183136] Re: Error while Storing folder 'INBOX'
Totally agree that fix does not fix the problem. I believe that the problem must be related to one or more corrupted messages. I had this message a few times. Removed the files, but the message comes back. Today it got worse. I had a message saying that the Inbox was corrupted. So I "lost" some 800 e-mails. I love to use Evolution, but when something like this happens I get seriously worried. I took backup of the folders just prior to the corruption so I have the e-mails. This is worrying though. It is one of those things that I would say shall not happen, and is another reason for me not to suggest going from Windows to Ubuntu Linux in the Enterprise. But this is the state of my desktop at the moment: 1) I log in and the desktop comes up with standard icons. 2) I check to see if things have become better by clicking around on the desktop. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't. When they don't I get selected areas where I have selected the desktop. 3) Sometimes I can't choose the icons, menus or anything. When that happens I right click and I get the pop up menu. Then things are back to "normal". 4) This also affects the fact that when moving windows they go into maximize state first before they are moved. This is what happens: 4a) Grabbing the title bar by left clicking it. 4b) While "holding" the title bar I move the mouse pointer. 4c) The window maximizes. 4d) The window goes back to same size as it had before it became maximized 4e) The window is moved / moving. 5) Today I can sense that the mouse is to picky. ** Summary changed: - Can't move window + Problems with Nautilus / X-server ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: nautilus + Binary package hint: nautilus, X-server 1) Ubuntu Hardy - 2) Just downloaded and installed the build that was released 24.04.2008 - 3) I moved the mouse over the titlebar and clicked the right mouse button. This in order to move the window. When I start moving the mouse while holding the mouse button down it does not move. The hand is there for a few seconds, but then it seems like it slips. Normally I would be able to move the window around. System runs without much Compiz stuff on it, and no wobbling. - 4) The hand goes back to an arrow and it is not possible to move the window. - - I have not been able to create some debug-information, so if someone could please tell me how to do this, I will very much like to do so. - I will how ever reinstall Hardy today and tell the installer to format /boot / partitions so that I know that those partitions are empty. + 2) When moving a window with Compiz on the hand slips. With Compiz off the window is first maximized before it is possible to move it. If I select areas on the desktop sometimes the selected area does not disappear. Also moving the mouse over icons doesn't highlight them. Sometimes I can't choose the icons or anything on the desktop. I have to right click and get a pop up menu before I can click on the desktop again. + Moving icons ends up opening up the document or start the program. + 3) Should work like this: + * Icons should highlight when mouse moves over. + * Windows shall not maximize when you move them around. + * Desktop should be refreshed and cleaned when an area is selected. + * Programs should not start when trying to move the icon. [Bug 221691] xorg.conf
I have now also checked if the problem could be related to X, and so I am now copying the content of xorg.conf. I am also trying to read up on getting debug-information from the X Server. Remember: I have a dell d420 with the intel graphicscard. I have a feeling something is missing here, but I am not sure. # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page. # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "no" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "CorePointer" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad" Driver "synaptics" Option "SendCoreEvents" "true" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Protocol" "auto-dev" Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "0" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Monitor "Configured Monitor" Device "Configured Video Device" EndSection Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Default Layout" Screen "Default Screen" InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad" EndSection -- Can't move window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221691 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 221691] .xsession-error

Re: [Bug 221691] Re: Can't move window
Hi there, After I installed the emerald-thingy I could move the windows. The problem was present after a fresh and clean reinstall - except for the Home partition (Which I had to have fresh as I have lots of important data on that partition). The desktop effects was set to middle if I remember correctly. So you could say that the bug is not a bug, but at the same time that if compiz is enabled that Emerald has to be installed. -trond- On Fri, 2008-04-25 at 09:30 +, Sebastien Bacher wrote: > Thank you for your bug report. [Bug 221691] [NEW] Can't move window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus 1) Ubuntu Hardy 2) Just downloaded and installed the build that was released 24.04.2008 3) I moved the mouse over the titlebar and clicked the right mouse button. This in order to move the window. When I start moving the mouse while holding the mouse button down it does not move. The hand is there for a few seconds, but then it seems like it slips. Normally I would be able to move the window around. System runs without much Compiz stuff on it, and no wobbling. 4) The hand goes back to an arrow and it is not possible to move the window. I have not been able to create some debug-information, so if someone could please tell me how to do this, I will very much like to do so. I will how ever reinstall Hardy today and tell the installer to format /boot / partitions so that I know that those partitions are empty. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Can't move window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221691 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
