I believe this is because Eclipse uses the theme in Ubuntu. It is how
ever a totally different bug than the one you are replying to now.

The "bug" is also present in 10.04.

Re: [Bug 443004] Re: Buttons disappear or do not respond to mouse clicks in Eclipse

2010-04-22 Thread Trond Husoe
The problem with this bug is that it is also present in other
applications that is built on Eclipse.
I've experienced the button-problem in both Zend Studio and Aptana.

The "workaround" is to click on the button so that it becomes active
( or marked ) and then press enter or the key combination for the
specific button.

2009-12-15 Thread Trond Husoe
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 443004 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443004

This bug is also the case in Aptana and 3.5 Eclipse so I believe it is
either a general eclipse problem or a problem related to the system.

The bug is also related to other buttons in E3.5 and Aptana. I've
experienced it when choosing colors and on other buttons as well.

[Bug 491661] [NEW] Does not mount Android phone - and not iPod either

2009-12-02 Thread Trond Husoe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

1) Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10
2)
3) The first times I connected the phone to the computer, banshee opened up.
Now nothing happens. I have bought a new card for the phone, so it might be
that there is a file missing. I don't know.
4) Nothing happens. lsusb shows that the phone is there, but fdisk -l does not
list the phone/card as a disc.
This is also the case for iPod gen 4. It does not mount automatically.

[Bug 183136] Re: Error while Storing folder 'INBOX'

2009-08-18 Thread Trond Husoe
Totally agree that fix does not fix the problem. I believe that the
problem must be related to one or more corrupted messages. I had this
message a few times. Removed the files, but the message comes back.

Today it got worse. I had a message saying that the Inbox was corrupted.
So I "lost" some 800 e-mails. I love to use Evolution, but when
something like this happens I get seriously worried. I took backup of
the folders just prior to the corruption so I have the e-mails. This is
worrying though.

It is one of those things that I would say shall not happen, and is
another reason for me not to suggest going from Windows to Ubuntu Linux
in the Enterprise.

[Bug 221691] Related to Synaptic mousepad

2008-05-21 Thread Trond Husoe
After some help from freedesktop.org we have found out that this is
related to the touch pad on the Dell computer(s) and it may also be
related to other laptops with dual mouse setup.

This is where the bug defined:
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15956#c11

I have posted the information on the Dell mailinglist, and hopefully
someone from them will help get this bug sorted out. I am also willing
to build some drivers in debugmode order to get this bug sorted out.

Today the icons under Nautilus was / is not responsive, but mouse can be
used to click on links in status bar, menu and links in Firefox.

Have to select an area in Nautilus to select icon. At one time this
selected area was not removed. This area is moving up and down when I
changed directory to cd-dvd creator because of the write to disc button-
area.

I still don't know what this could be, but I am trying to burn Gutsy to

[Bug 221691] Problem related to Intel 810i driver

2008-05-16 Thread Trond Husoe
I think I have finally managed to find out where the problem is. I ran gksudo
displayconfig-gtk and changed driver from i810 to choose driver by model and
selected 845. It is put at 945.
When I changed that I clicked ctrl+alt+backspace and it tried to log back in
and it had some configuration problems.
When I change back it does no longer have the problems with moving files and
such.

How to replicate this problem
1) run displayconfig-gtk with gksudo
2) Change driver from 945 to 845 or someone else
3) restart X by pressing ctrl+alt+backspace
4) You will be getting an error message saying that there is some problem with
the configuration, and that Ubuntu is running in Low Graphics mode. Settings
will be set to 800x600.

It's kinda hard to for me to describe in easy steps how to trigger the
issue. But this is the state of my desktop at the moment:
1) I log in and the desktop comes up with standard icons.
2) I check to see if things have become better by clicking around on the
desktop. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't. When they don't I
get selected areas where I have selected the desktop.
3) Sometimes I can't choose the icons, menus or anything. When that
happens I right click and I get the pop up menu. Then things are back to
"normal".
4) This also affects the fact that when moving windows they go into
maximize state first before they are moved. This is what happens:
4a) Grabbing the title bar by left clicking it.
4b) While "holding" the title bar I move the mouse pointer.
4c) The window maximizes.
4d) The window goes back to same size as it had before it became
maximized
4e) The window is moved / moving.

5) Today I can sense that the mouse is to picky. It thinks I am double
clicking everything...

So for me this seems like has something to do with a) Nautilus or b) X
and some configuration settings related to latest versino of X. This did
not happen in Ubuntu 7.10.

I will provide any log-information needed to get this fixed.

[Bug 221691] Re: Problems with Nautilus / X-server

2008-05-05 Thread Trond Husoe
** Summary changed:

- Can't move window
+ Problems with Nautilus / X-server

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: nautilus
+ Binary package hint: nautilus, X-server

  1) Ubuntu Hardy
- 2) Just downloaded and installed the build that was released 24.04.2008
- 3) I moved the mouse over the titlebar and clicked the right mouse button.
This in order to move the window. When I start moving the mouse while holding
the mouse button down it does not move. The hand is there for a few seconds,
but then it seems like it slips. Normally I would be able to move the window
around. System runs without much Compiz stuff on it, and no wobbling.
- 4) The hand goes back to an arrow and it is not possible to move the window.
-
- I have not been able to create some debug-information, so if someone could
please tell me how to do this, I will very much like to do so.
- I will how ever reinstall Hardy today and tell the installer to format /boot
/ partitions so that I know that those partitions are empty.
+ 2) When moving a window with Compiz on the hand slips. With Compiz off the
window is first maximized before it is possible to move it. If I select areas
on the desktop sometimes the selected area does not disappear. Also moving the
mouse over icons doesn't highlight them. Sometimes I can't choose the icons or
anything on the desktop. I have to right click and get a pop up menu before I
can click on the desktop again.
+ Moving icons ends up opening up the document or start the program.
+ 3) Should work like this:
+ * Icons should highlight when mouse moves over.
+ * Windows shall not maximize when you move them around.
+ * Desktop should be refreshed and cleaned when an area is selected.
+ * Programs should not start when trying to move the icon. Documents should
not open when trying to move icon.

[Bug 221691] definetly a nautilus bug

2008-05-01 Thread Trond Husoe
So now I have uninstalled / completely removed Compiz of this system and
the problem with moving things, windows and such are still present.
This is not a compiz-bug, but a Nautilus bug.

I have now logged in with Gnome as session and the bug is still present.
I have turned composite in Gnome off (had to go into terminal safe mode
to do that, otherwise the system just hangs.. it does something, but
menues, windows and such are blank)
I have logged in with Gnome Safe failback and the bug is still present.

As I can see I am the only one contributing to this bug, so I have a
feeling I am the only one experiencing it.

I have attached the logfile that I have found under gdm, maybe the
information there will help...

[Bug 221691] gconftool

2008-05-01 Thread Trond Husoe
As stated earlier I did something so that I got shadows and then things
started working on the next login.
This was the command I ran:
gconftool-2 -s --type bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager
true

However: I had a hard freeze while trying to remove the double calendar
in Evolution (or whatever happened), and now the desktop is back to
"normal"... I ran the command again now, and I shall see what happens
when I log in again.

[Bug 221691] Resolved?

2008-05-01 Thread Trond Husoe
I haven't really done anything, except that I installed the Gnome
something where I got shadows on the windows. And today after booting
things seems to work. I can move things, and the dots on the desktop
does not appear when I click on the Desktop.

IF someone wants to test if this is the reason, please do turn of
shadows and see if that creates some problems.

[Bug 221691] xorg.conf

2008-04-29 Thread Trond Husoe
I have now also checked if the problem could be related to X, and so I
am now copying the content of xorg.conf.

I am also trying to read up on getting debug-information from the X
Server.

Remember: I have a dell d420 with the intel graphicscard. I have a
feeling something is missing here, but I am not sure.

Re: [Bug 221691] Re: Can't move window

2008-04-25 Thread Trond Husoe
Hi there,

After I installed the emerald-thingy I could move the windows. The
problem was present after a fresh and clean reinstall - except for the
Home partition (Which I had to have fresh as I have lots of important
data on that partition).

The desktop effects was set to middle if I remember correctly.

So you could say that the bug is not a bug, but at the same time that if
compiz is enabled that Emerald has to be installed.

[Bug 221691] [NEW] Can't move window

2008-04-24 Thread Trond Husoe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

1) Ubuntu Hardy
2) Just downloaded and installed the build that was released 24.04.2008
3) I moved the mouse over the titlebar and clicked the right mouse button. This
in order to move the window. When I start moving the mouse while holding the
mouse button down it does not move. The hand is there for a few seconds, but
then it seems like it slips. Normally I would be able to move the window
around. System runs without much Compiz stuff on it, and no wobbling.
4) The hand goes back to an arrow and it is not possible to move the window.

I have not been able to create some debug-information, so if someone could
please tell me how to do this, I will very much like to do so.
I will how ever reinstall Hardy today and tell the installer to format /boot /
partitions so that I know that those partitions are empty.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
