[Bug 1901567] [NEW] bwrap: setting up uid map: Permission denied (with Apparmor)
Public bug reported: After upgrading from Ubuntu 20.04 to 20.10, evolution is unable to display my mails. You can try again by moving to another message and back. If the issue persists, please file a bug report in GNOME Gitlab." I found this Archlinux thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=259928 regarding the problem. A workaround is proposed, that consists in exporting WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX=0 before running Evolution. This works. Notice I have Apparmor enforced. [Bug 283785] Re: Could not create a GStreamer sink element to write
The problem was found by the gnome people: I had my library location set to '/home/franck/Musique', while it should have been 'file:///home/franck/Musique'. So resetting the location solved my problem. What is not known is how the library location was set to a file path instead of an url (while resetting, I have tried typing it on the keyboard or choosing it with the file chooser, and both methods transform it to an url...). [Bug 36189] Re: Applets do not scale well with changing resolution
It seems the workaround is working out of the box, without any user action (kind of a fix, in fact :) When were the said gconf keys introduced ? I went to the said keys in gconf and found they were already set (panel_right_stick, ...). So I changed my resolution, relaunched gdm, relogged-in, changed again back to 1200x800, and the applets where in the right place/ right order, except for the one that was in the middle of my panel, at a fixed position. So, apllets on the left where on the left, applets on the right where on the right in good order, and applets at an arbitrary fixed position were at an other arbitry fixed position. Not so bad. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager Hi, since I upgraded to Gusty, cdrom don't show up on the desktop when I insert them. I have to type 'mount /cdrom' to get access to them. Also nautilus cdburner don't see blank cdr or cdrw when inserted. Usb keys work fine. [Bug 36189] Re: Applets do not scale well with changing resolution
The bug is still there in Gusty with Gnome 2.20.0 It is even more serious as with xrandr, gnome-panel will adjust its size to the smallest output resolution. When coming back to normal resolution, applets are arranged in a apparent random order... Howto reproduce : - on a laptop, resolution is 1200x800 - place applets and lock them on the top panel - plug in a video-projector (say it supports 1024x800) - type 'xrandr --output VGA --auto' in a terminal - the video-projector will display desktop : great !! - the integrated LCD display remain in 1200x800. Cool. - gnome-panel will adjust its size to fit the 1024x800 VGA display. Really cool. - sell your stuff to the audiance :) - unplug the projector and type 'xrandr --output VGA --off' - gnome-panel goes back to its original size... really nice - BUT : applets are all mixed up :( -- Applets do not scale well with changing resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/36189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 131530] Re: 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp
@Onkar, following your tip I have found the place I was browsing on the device, it is a directory called 'shared' available in the 'messages' application. I must admit I don't really know the Symbian OS very well. But anyway, browsing when gnome-vfs-obexftp is installed works for me ! -- 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 131530] Re: 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp
Hi, I kind of tested the 'Browse Device' feature, and it kind of works :) In fact I can see devices, connect to it and 'Browse device...' opens Nautilus with obex: aa:aa:aa:aa:aa as path. It also shows a file that I can copy from my phone to the desktop. The only point is that I have no idea where on the phone I am located, so I can't test the other way (from Ubuntu to phone device). Does anyone know what directory Obexftp is supposed to browse ? -- 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 114885] Re: Notifications won't work. Error After Logout/In again Ubuntu 7.04
Hi, I want to mention the problem still occurs on Gusty... In fact I didn't encounter this bug in Feisty, but since I made a fresh Gusty install, every time I log in a second time, I get this 'Notification Daemon Error : notifications won't work error'. Other symptoms are that my desktop settings are not takien into account for the new session (icon theme, compiz effects, ...) Is the bug still worked on ? This is quite annoying oner month before Gusty release. -- Notifications won't work. [Bug 139082] Workspace switcher destroys the desktop
Public bug reported: Hi, in Gusty (so using compiz), clicking on another workspace (not the surrent one) in the workspace switcher applet makes the desktop disapear. Only the the wallpaper remains visible. Using compiz cube still works, but all workspace then lack a desktop (including the original one).
